Das Internat – ein Stück England in Köln
Unser Konzept
Gegründet im Jahr 1985, ist St. George’s eine staatlich anerkannte
englisch-internationale Schule für Kinder und Jugendliche von
2 bis 18 Jahren. Schüler aus über 35 Nationen werden von
Pre-Nursery bis I/GCSE und A-Level bzw. nach dem Programm
des IB (International Baccalaureate)* unterrichtet.
Besonders stolz ist St. George‘s auf die hervorragenden
Ergebnisse in den A-Level und IB Examen. Diese Abschlüsse
sind von Universitäten weltweit anerkannt.
St. George’s ist eine koedukative und konfessionell nicht
gebundene Schule, die keine städtischen oder staatlichen
Finanzzuschüsse erhält.
* Das Examensangebot kann an den einzelnen St. George’s
Standorten variieren.
Zu St. George’s gehört das erste englische internationale Internat
in Deutschland für Schülerinnen und Schüler ab 11 Jahren. Die
Schüler wohnen in gemütlichen Doppelzimmern mit eigenem
Bad.
St. George‘s unterrichtet nach dem englischen Curriculum und
dem International Baccalaureate Programme. Es werden alle
gängigen Fächer des deutschen und englischen Schulsystems
angeboten.
Unsere Internatsschüler werden von engagierten und hoch
qualifizierten Fachkräften betreut. Die familiäre Atmosphäre und
ein Umfeld in Geborgenheit stellen sicher, dass die Schüler alle
Vorzüge eines Internatlebens genießen können.
Die Unterrichtssprache ist Englisch. Das Fach Deutsch wird,
getrennt für Muttersprachler und Nicht-Muttersprachler, fünfmal
pro Woche unterrichtet. Das Lernumfeld von St. George‘s ist
geprägt von kleinen Klassen mit maximal 20 Schülern und
hochmotivierten Lehrern.
Das Internat von St. George‘s bedeutet Fröhlichkeit, Freundschaft
und eine zweite Familie bei hohem schulischen Anspruch.

We are St. George’s.
St. George‘s ist eine Ganztagsschule. Der Unterricht findet in
der Zeit von 8.45 bis 15.30 Uhr statt. Die Betreuung vor und
nach der Kernunterrichtszeit wird individuell gestaltet. Nach
Unterrichtsschluss haben die Schüler die Möglichkeit, an
einem der zahlreichen , freiwilligen Kurse teilzunehmen wie
z. B. Hausaufgabenbetreuung, Sprachen, Sport, Kunst,
Schach, Musik.
Die Nursery School beginnt um 8.00 und endet um 16.30 Uhr.
Kinder können jedoch auch bereits um 13.30 Uhr abgeholt
werden.
Die Schüler von St. George‘s tragen Schuluniform, denn
dies fördert nach unserem Verständnis die Integration und
den Zusammenhalt der Schüler, stärkt die Gemeinschaft und
festigt den Teamgeist.

Our Concept
Founded in 1985, St. George‘s is a state-approved English
International school for children aged 2 to 18. We educate pupils
of more than 35 nationalities from Pre-Nursery to I/GSCE and
A-Level or IB*.
We are especially proud of our excellent academic results.
The qualifications are recognised by universities worldwide.

independent from local or state financial support

The first English International Boarding School in Germany for
pupils aged from 11 onwards is an integral part of St. George‘s.
Pupils live in comfortable double rooms with ensuite bathroom.
St. George’s follows the English National Curriculum as well
as the International Baccalaureate Programme. All established
school subjects of the English and German school systems are
offered.
The boarders are cared for by dedicated and experienced staff.
The family atmosphere and secure surroundings ensure that all
boarders are able to enjoy the full benefits of boarding life.
Fun, friendship and independency are central to the boarding

We are St. George’s.
Lessons are taught in English. German lessons for native and
non-native speakers occur five times weekly. Class sizes are
kept to a maximum of 20 pupils, each of whom receive the
personal attention of enthusiastic teachers.
Lessons are from 8:45 am to 3:30 pm. Flexible mentoring is
offered before and after the core hours. After school, many
voluntary clubs are available, e.g. Prep hour, Language
courses, Sport, Art, Chess, and Music.
Nursery school starts at 8:00 am and finishes at 4:30 pm.
Nursery children may be collected earlier at 1:30 pm.
According to our philosophy, the wearing of the St. George‘s
school uniform enhances the integration and collaboration
amongst pupils and fosters a sense of community as well as
a team spirit.
