About Bonsor Recreation Complex
Located at Metrotown, this facility features a swimming
pool, tot pool and whirlpool, a gymnasium, weight room,
cardio room, yoga/Pilates studio, racquet courts,
dance/fitness studio, martial arts facility, Bonsor Café and
childminding centre as well as Bonsor 55+ Centre featuring
a lounge, snooker room and four multi-purpose rooms.

Handcycling is a great upper body workout and can
provide a wonderful sense of freedom for people with
disabilities. Take this amazing cycle for a test drive on
a safe,level pathway and discover the fun of wheeling

Booking a Court
To book a court call 604-297-4597 press 9 ext. 3228
In Advance: With your Active Pass or court reservation card ($16.48 per year),
you can reserve a court up to seven days in advance. Courts can not be booked
in advance without one of these passes/cards. Court reservation cards are valid at
both Bonsor and Cameron.
Drop-in: Show your court reservation card and just pay the court fee. Without
a court reservation card or Active Pass, you will pay a $2.14 booking fee plus
the court fee.
Cancellations & Penalties: You can cancel a court reservation without penalty if
you give at least 24 hours notice. If you make a late court cancellation and the
court was not re-booked, you will be charged for the court. You can pay with
cash or with one punch of your 10 visit pass. You will not be able to scan your
unlimited pass to pay the penalty.
Practice Courts: Call to arrange single player practice court times. (Same day
bookings only) Regular court fees will be charged for all multiple player
court use.

Squash Lessons
We offer private, semi-private and family lessons for squash enthusiasts.
Looking for an introduction? Lessons are forty-five minutes long and are
led by experienced coaches. Call the coordinator today for your customized
squash experience at 604-297-4576.

Zumba®
Simple dance steps move you to the music of
Latin rhythms while burning calories in this high
energy class. Due to increase demand, a limited
number of spaces are sold for all Zumba®
classes. Patrons may purchase their Zumba®
wristband one hour prior to the scheduled start
time. Patrons must wear their Zumba wristband
during the entire Zumba® class.

Drop-in Squash Challenge
Squash players who want to take their game to the next level or are just tired of
practicing on their own can come out to Bonsor’s Drop-in Squash Challenge. This
is a great way to learn more and enjoy the game of squash.
Saturdays, 16 yrs & up, 8:30-11am (intermediate) / 11am-1:30pm (beginner)
Sundays, 14 yrs & up, 10:30am-12noon (beginner – one court is women’s only)
Childminding Services Newborn-5 years
We are open 5 days a week in the summer Monday-Friday, 9am-12noon! Parents
can take this opportunity to enjoy a workout, knowing that our friendly staff are
on hand to provide excellent care for your child. Please note that you must remain
in the facility while your child attends our childminding centre. Childminding is
closed statutory holidays and on long weekends. Please note Saturday service ends
June 27, 2015 and resumes in the fall.
Drop-in $4.60 per hour
Punchcard $41.60 / 10 one-hour visits
Each additional sibling 50% off childminding rate.

Parking at Bonsor
Park at Bonsor only during the time you are actually visiting the
complex. If you plan to go to the mall or surrounding businesses
before or after your visit with us, please take your vehicle with you.
The city parking bylaw restricts use of our parking lot to Bonsor
Complex customers only. Vehicles in violation of the bylaw may
be ticketed or towed. Car pool or use alternative forms of
transportation on special event days when parking spaces are in
particularly high demand.
No Stopping Zone
The fire zone adjacent to the fields is designated and signed No
Stopping Zone. Vehicles in this zone will be ticketed and/or towed.
Please have your decal visible when using the handicapped parking
spaces. To obtain a decal, contact SPARC of BC at 604-718-7744.

Burnaby Recreation Credit Program
Individuals and families in financial need may be eligible for
a credit that can be applied to Burnaby Parks, Recreation and
Cultural Services program fees and admissions. There are

Bonsor 55+ Centre is located on the east side of the Bonsor
parking lot at 6533 Nelson Avenue. Come check us out!
The Bonsor staff and 55+ Society would like to thank our committed
55+ volunteers. We always encourage members to get involved

55+ only weight training is available M, W & F, 10:30-11:30am at a
cost of $4.00 with a valid 55+ Bonsor or multi-centre membership.
Bus Trip Information
Trips that include ferry transportation have different rates for adults
and seniors (65 years & up). Trip prices include the senior’s discount.
To qualify for the senior’s discount you must be 65 or older and a
BC resident. You may be asked to present your Pharmacare card or
other ID as proof of age when you register. If you do not qualify, be
prepared to pay the difference during registration.

Membership Fees
To take part in the 55+ activities, you need to purchase a
membership. The fee structure includes two fees. You can
purchase the single centre membership if you usually take
part in activities at only one centre, or you can purchase the
multi-centre membership if you enjoy taking part in
activities at more than one centre.
Single Centre: $16.70 per year
Multi-Centre: $41.60 per year
Please notify Bonsor 55+ staff of members who are ill, hospitalized
or have passed away. A card will be sent to the family.
Enjoy a friendly game of snooker on one of our fine tables. Check the
snooker board for league play, fess and tournament dates. Tables are
available during 55+ centre hours.
