The Taste of Lebanon was amazing! Everyone who attended had nothing but good things to say about the excellent organization, delicious food and warm, friendly attitude. Everyone worked so hard and each of you deserves a big thanks, but there are a few people who must be acknowledged: Rick Blank, Betty Karrat, Tom Ladd, Luke Lewis, Kameli McIntyre, Glory Rasi, Lou Raya, Bernie Sunderlin, and all the committee chairpersons who did an extraordinary amount of work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. As your pastor, I am so grateful that God brought us together. God bless each and every one of you with abundant blessings. • Sanctuary Lamp—In Memory of Joseph Hanna by his Daughter, Danese Hanna • Incense & Charcoal—Available • Candles—In Memory of Eli Hobaica by Family • Bread & Wine—In Memory of Our Parents by Subdeacon Peter and Judy Hobaica • Chapel Sanctuary Lamp In Memory of William Jabour by Family • Sanctuary Plants & Flowers—Available A contribution of $10.00 will memorialize a loved one for the entire week. Thank you. Mr. John LoVasco, one of the men who gave a retreat to the Holy Name Society a few months ago, generously contributed $570 to the parish for the purchase of 200 copies of Rediscovering Catholicism by Matthew Kelly. We are most grateful to John for his generous contribution. We will be distributing this book in the Fall; perhaps it can be the basis of some discussion groups. Absence. On Sunday afternoon, I will be leaving for a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Rome. I will be returning on 8 August. You may be interested to know that I will be leading a group of twenty seminarians (young men who are studying to be priests). Be sure that my first prayer at the Tomb of Jesus will be for my family and you, my adopted family. I leave all of you in the very competent hands of Father Miled, Deacon Paul, and Subdeacon Peter—and, of course, Jackie Sweeney. Shrine Pilgrimage. Our annual pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in North Jackson, Ohio is 14-16 August, 2013. The cost is $175 and is first come, first serve. For more information, call Jackie Sweeney, Parish Secretary at 732-6019. Shrine of the North American Martyrs. The Annual Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the North American Martyrs at Auriesville will be on Sunday, 25 August. Both the parishes of Saint Louis Gonzaga of Utica and Saint Ann of Watervliet will participate. The Maronite Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 4pm. There will also be a picnic on the grounds in the afternoon. Rocco Hobaica will be the coordinator for the pilgrimage and picnic. This is an important opportunity to take time away from our busy schedules and travel to the holy grounds of the shrine in Auriesville for prayer and celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The shrine commemorates the birthplace of the recently canonized Saint Kateri Tekakwitha and the martyrdom of Saints Rene Goupil, Isaac Jogues, and John deLalande, three of the North American Martyrs.
