November 2012 Program – The MetClub is an international organization for cultural, social and educational programs in Stuttgart. – Our modest yearly membership fee entitles members to discounts for cultural/educational program entrance fees. The Club’s lively and active members organize most of the interesting programs themselves. Membership is not required to attend programs – so just join in, we’d like to meet you! GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE NEW LIBRARY STUTTGART Have you been to Stuttgart’s new city library? Designed by Korean Eun Young Yi, you’ll find lots of impressive and forward-looking touches. During our guided tour (in English) with head Ingrid Bussmann we’ll discover main aspects of its architectural concept, get an overview of their supply and how to use it. This is a joint program with the Stuttgart Conversation Club. No entrance or guidance fee. Metclub member Thomas Markl would like to be your guide to explore this annual event and give us a small tour of the old town and other worthwhile attractions. We are meeting at 10:00 h, the train to Ulm is leaving 10:32 h from track 14. Our return trip to Stuttgart is scheduled for about 18:00 h (arriving 19 h -19.30 h). This year we will start with a winter walk around the Waldau in Stuttgart Degerloch. We will meet in front of the Restaurant (5 minute walk from the metro station). TRADITIONAL "TSCHENGLA" SNOW WEEKEND Join our international weekend in the Vorarlberg region! We will leave Stuttgart on Friday afternoon/evening for 1.5 days of skiing, sledding and snow hiking. We stay at a mountain hostel at 1200m elevation with self-catering facilities. To get there we will organize car pooling. Costs: about 60 € (2 nights in a 2, 4 or 6-bed room in the hostel), 10 € for dinner & car pooling. To get there, enter the courtyard of the complex from the side facing the ”Altes Schloss”, turn right to entrance 3 at the round tower in the courtyard corner, go up the stairs to the top floor.
