Kunqu Opera, Sichuan Opera,

Beach Party”

in Hong Kong. From the huge shopping malls to
picturesque antique shops or everyday
convenience stores. The best of the best is what
you will find here.
Zunächst muss gesagt werden, dass Hong Kong über und über mit Markenartikeln
bepackt ist. Demnach gibt es selbstverständlich zahleiche Outlets, in denen man
Designerware fuer bis zu 80% günstiger bekommt und die aufjedenfall ein Besuch wert
sind.
City Gate Outlet, Tung Chung (MTR, orange line) auf Lantau Island
Eine große Outlet-Mall, die Marken wie Esprit, Levis, Bauhaus, Calvin Klein , Nike,
Puma, Sasa, Seven, City Chain anbietet.
Tip: Im Untergeschoss findet man einen Taste Supermarkt, der internationale Ware
zu vernünftigen Preisen anbietet..
Space Outlet Store, South Horizons; Aberdeen
Die besten Designerschnäppchn werden hier gemacht, Louboutins für die Damen
zum Teil bis zu 70% reduziert. Jedoch werden auch Männer hier fündig: PradaKrawatten von 1600 HKD auf 500 HKD herabgesetzt.

The Langham Place Mall, Yau Ma Tei (Mong Kok)
Die wohl höchste Mall in Hongkong. Hier sind kaum Boutiqueketten zu finden,
dafür umso mehr einzigartige Mode, besonders für Mädels und in der unteren
Preiskategorie. Jedoch ist der Besuch allein wegen dem Gebäude und dem
Ausblick von den Plattformen und aus den Restaurants ein Besuch wert.
Miramar Shopping Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui
Neben 100 verschiedenen Geschäften findet man außerdem noch Karaoke
Lounges, Restaurants und ein Kaufhaus.
Queensway Plaza, Admiralty
Das Queensway Plaza bietet neben zahlreiche kleinen Boutiquen
Verbindungswege ins Pacific Place, United Centre und ins Admiralty Centre, in
dem neben einem Foodcourt auch noch kleine private Boutiquen findet, die zu
keiner Kette gehoeren.

Falls man nach einer anstrengenden Einkaufstour sich ein wenig anders
abkühlen möchte, kann sich auf die Schlittschuhbahn wagen. Neben bekannten
Geschäften findet man hier neben einem chinesischen ein einzigartiges,
japanisches Department Store: Apita, ein normales Kino und den Director‘s Club
(folgend noch genauer beschrieben).

Wellcome, Park n` Shop, überall
Die beiden großen Supermarktketten sind überall zu finden und
decken den alltäglichen Bedarf ab. Die Preise sind durchaus mit
denen in Dtl. vergleichbar. Lediglich Milchprodukte und Fleisch sind
relativ teuer.
Wellcome bietet zusätzlich einige Superstores an. Diese umfassen
ein größeres Angebot an Waren, v.a. Frischfleisch und Fisch.
Supermärkte haben i.d.R. bis 10pm.
“Taste, International”. z.B. Olympic City 2 (Mall in Mong Kok),
LippoCenter (MTR Admiralty), “grEAT” Pacific Place, “Citysuper”,
IFC Mall, Harbour City
Diese Supermarktketten bieten zusätzlich ein großes Angebot an
importierten Waren. Wer Milka und Konsorten haben möchte, sollte
hier Ausschau halten.

Mong Kok
Eine Auswahl an diversen Strassenmärkten: Ladies market, Bird market,
Flower market, Fish market, Jade market. Hier kann man jegliche Art von
Ware, von Schrott bis nostalgisch, günstig erwerben. Handeln ein Muss und
oftmals Discount beim Kauf mehrerer Artikel.
Fa Yuen Street – Sneaker Street Mong Kok
Ein absolutes Muss für alle Sneaker-Fans. Nirgendswo gibt es so eine große
Auswahl an Sport- und Turnschuhen wie in dieser Straße mit zig aneinander
reihenden Shops.
Temple Street Night Market
Wer bis 11 Uhr abends sich noch auf einzigartige und florierende Märkte
tummeln möchte, ist hier genau richtig: Hellseher unter Petroleumlampen
bückend, schachspielende Locals und kantonesische Oper performende
Straßensänger
Western Market
Das restaurierte Gebäude aus dem frühen 20. Jhd. bietet alles über lokale
Handarbeit bis zu schweizer Vintage-Uhren. Besonders für Stoffhändler- und
interessierte ist “Cloth Alley” im 1. Stock ein Erlebnis.

Straße der getrockneten Meeresfrüchte (Des Voeux Road West)
Auf der Des Voeux Road West findet man seltene und teure Ware wie
getrocknete Seegurke oder Jakobsmuscheln. Viele Läden bieten
getrocknete Produkte sowie tonische Speisen und traditionelle
chinesische Medizin an.
Straße der Kräutermedizin (Ko Shing Street)
Ko Shing Street ist das Großhandelszentrum für Hong Kongs florierenden
Handel mit Kräuter- und Naturmedizin. Der Ort ist bekannt für seine große
Auswahl an Heilmitteln und für äußerst kompetentes Verkaufspersonal.
Chinese Clothing
Look at Chinese department stores, specialty shops and boutiques
throughout Hong Kong and particularly in Li Yuen streets east and west in
Central (Central MTR Exit C), Pedder Street (Central MTR Exit D1) and
Des Voeux Road Central (Central MTR Exit B or C), and Stanley Market
(bus 6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260 from Exchange Square Bus Terminus, Central).

Check out the shops on Hollywood Road for a wide range of brass and
pewter, ceramics, porcelain and bone china. Valuable Chinese artifacts or
engravings can be uncovered in this area that hugs the upper Central
business district. Antique shops and galleries offer antique porcelain and
bone china artifacts, vases and bowls, tea ware and wine jugs. Many shops
can arrange to insure, pack and ship your goods safely back home.
Tip: When it comes to shipping it home, ''all risk" insurance is a very good
idea.

Sports
The great Hong Kong Food and the smooth public
transport system is taking its toll? No Problem, there
are many, more or less active ways to get in shape.
Here are some.
Kowloon Park Sports Center, 54 Lung Mun Road, Tuen Mun
Jede Menge Möglichkeiten sportlich aktiv zu sein. Neben einer Mitgliedschaft in einem
Verein (Kampfsport, Tischtennis, Badminton...) kann man auch das Fitnesscenter recht
preiswert nutzen. Allerdings ist die notwendige Anmeldeprozedur (Anmelden – zwei
Wochen warten – Test ablegen, ob man die Geräte auch bedienen kann – zwei
Wochen warten ein wenig umständlich.

Finessstudios
Die beiden großen Ketten sind California Fitness (CF) und Physical. CF hat zwar mehr
Studios, ist aber auch deutlich teurer. Pro Monat muss man mit ca. 1000$ Kosten
rechnen.
Angebote bei Physical gibt es ab 600$ für 3 Monate. Man sollte früh trainieren, will man
nicht zusammen mit sehr vielen Anderen in einem Käfig schwitzen.

Bowlen
Eine nette, zentralgelegene Anlage gibt es in der Olympian City 2 Mall,Kowloon.
Der Laden nennt sich Olympian Super Fun Bowl und Super Fun kann man dort
mit unter haben. Aber Vorsicht!! Es steht zwar geschrieben, dass man pro Spiel
bezahlt, gemeint ist aber pro Person (ca.50 $).
Martial Arts
Berühm ist HK natürlich für Wing Chun (Kung Fu) und Karate. Vereine gibt es
überall und sie kosten um die 500$ pro Monat.
Eislaufen
Alles ist möglich in dieser Stadt. Da darf natürlich auch eine Eisbahn nicht fehlen.
Es gibt zwei Bahnen in Kowloon Bay und in Tai Koo.

Offiziell braucht sie jeder, der länger als 180 Tage bleibt. Andernfalls kann man (offiziel) nicht
wieder nach HK einreisen. Man kann sie kostenlos im Immigration Tower (Wan Chai)
beantragen. Man sollte möglichst früh dort hingehen, da es dann noch nicht so voll ist. Man
benötigt nur seinen Reisepass und ca. 2 Wochen später erhält man die Karte.
Mit ihr kann man bsp. erleichtert ein- und ausreisen und man benötigt sie, wenn man einen
Führerschein machen möchte.

Für alle anderen bietet sich die kostenlose Visakarte der DKB Bank an. Mit ihr kann man

Pui O Beach, Lantau
Tthis hippie beach has fine yellow and black sand. While you’re there,
visit Hong Kong’s beachside dining establishment Ooh La La (Pui O
Beach, 2546 3543, www.oohlala-hk.com) . Or better still, ask the
restaurant to set up a camp at the beach for you to stay a night there.
Cheung Chau
Avoid the summer crowds and head to the popular island’s smaller,
more pleasant Kwun Yam Bay Beach and rent a kayak from the
beachside bar. Make your way around the island which should take
around two hours of solid paddling.
On your way back, stop st tranquil Italian Beach (Po Yue Wan) and
Coral Beach (Tsung Wan Tsai).

Kat O
This very remote island is home to about 50 residents and a pretty
half-moon-shaped beach called Tung O Wan, which is also one of the
best scuba diving spots in town. While you’re there, walk through the
serene fishermen’s village (most of the villagers have vacated since
the fishing industry’s heyday).
Also on the island is Yik Man Seafood Restaurant (2679 9337), a
Hakka eatery.
To get to Kat O, take a ferry from Sha Tau Kok at 12:30pm and
3:30pm daily. Tickets cost $10 one-way. However, the pier is in a
closed area and you need a permit from the police to get inside,
which is basically impossible unless you know someone living in Sha
Tau Kok. Alternatively, call Ming (9174 3914) for a speedboat from
Sai Kung for about $500.

Fringe Club Roof Garden
One of the few open-air bars in Central and has become a hot hangout for ex-pat artists and
music lovers who want to get away from the 'scene' scene. The Club itself hosts a range of
alternative arts events - everything from live bands to theatre and book readings, and while
there's a bar in the main downstairs space, the roof-top is a great place to sit under open skies.
The menu lists light meals and tapas, and staff bring a variety of beers, wines and simple
cocktails.

At RED you get to stare at the IFC. At SEVVA you get to ogle the HSBC building, a far more

Although housed in a not immediately appealing shopping mall, its really worth

This cozy watering hole is a little hard to find - tucked away as it is down a tiny,

From the same owners as The Press Room comes The Pawn – a restaurant in
a semi-historic setting. Occupying one of the few old buildings left in Wan Chai
at 62 Johnston Road, the Pawn is located near the former site of “Wedding
Card Street,” one of the casualties of this round of Wan Chai’s redevelopment.

Bit hard to find as you have to go through a Chinese souvenir shop. But once
you arrived you are being rewarded with some fine Chinese cuisine and
probably the best Beijing duck in Hong Kong. Prices are reasonable (280 for the
whole duck).
The Dining Wok, 12 St. Francis Street, Wan Chai
You look for the good old European Style Chinese Food here in HK.
Then look no further. Fortune cookies and if you kindly ask you might
even get a honey fried banana. The menu is loaded with pictures and

Buying train tickets for china in HK
is not that easy. Usually you have to get the tickets directly at the designated station in china 310 days in advance of your departure.
There are two convenient ways to get those tickets in HK.
First, you can order them online at the China travel service
(www.ctshk.com/english/useful/chinesevisa.htm).
Second, simply go to the Hung Hom Railway station. There you will find travel agents that sell
tickets. They charge a fee of HK$ 100 per ticket. Not cheap but saves a lot of
hassle.

KCR von East Tsim Sha Tsui oder Kowloon Tong nach Lo Wu (ca. 40 min).
Bus von WanChai nach Guangdong (ca. 50 Minuten), von hier ca. 15 min mit dem Taxi
nach Lo Wu. Kosten pro Fahrt: ca. HK$ 40 pro Strecke.
Visum
Kostet HK$ 160 und kann direkt an der Grenze ausgestellt werden. Nur der Reisepass ist
erforderlich. Visum kann auch vorher über eine Agency beantragt werden. Für diese
Prozedur sollte man gut 1. Std. einkalkulieren; Sonntags kann die Wartezeit auch mal 2
Std betragen. Also am besten früh am Morgen anreisen, da es dann noch ein wenig
schenller geht.
Commercial City
Eine kurzer Trip nach Shenzhen über’s Wochenende lohnt sich. Hier gibt es direkt an der
Grenze Lo Wu ein grosses Einkaufszentrum (Commercial City Mall). Hier ist jegliche Art
von kopierter Ware erhältlich, Taschen, Uhren, Elektroware, Schmuck, Schuhe, Designer
Outlets etc. sowie maßgeschneiderte Anzüge zu günstigen Preisen.
Allerdings ist anzumerken, dass ein Großteil der Ware von bescheidener Qualität ist. Viele
DVDs sind nicht abspielbar, Uhren zerfallen wie Vampire bei Tageslicht und Hosen reißen
an Stellen, die für Risse ungeeignet sind. Es bleibt jedem selbst überlassen zu
entscheiden, ob man nicht ein wenig mehr Geld in Produkte mit längerer Halbwertszeit
investiert.

Queen Spa, Chunfeng Rd
Einmal in Shenzen, ist ein Besuch des Queen SPA’s durchaus empfehlenswert. Ca. 5
Minuten Fahrt mit dem Taxi. Wellnessprogramm mit kostenfreier Übernachtungsmöglichkeit, Essen, Friseur, Sauna und Gym. An der Rezeption gibt es von den ca. 10
Rezeptionisten auch 1-2 Leute, die Englisch sprechen. Eine Massage koset ca. 160 HKD,
wobei diese mit den 100 $ Einrittspreis verrechnet wird. Insgesamt jedoch günstiger als die
Übernachtung mit Frühstück in irgend einem Hotel zu buchen. Vergleichbare Massagen
sind jedoch in Shenzen bereits für 60% zu haben. Die beruhigende Athmosphäre
rechfertigt den Preis aber allemal. Nett sind auch die Ärzte, die vor Ort kostenfrei
diagnostizieren, was einem fehlt und direkt die passende Medizin verkaufen.

garantiert für jeden etwas dabei. Fashion wear, sports wear, jewellery, shoes, handbags,
