Das King Fisher Resort besteht aus 10 individuell gestalteten Appartement-Häusern mit Terrassen und 40
Betten . Zum Resort gehört auch die Tauchbasis KING BAY und das Restaurant KAJÜTE.

Lage
Die Kapverdischen Inseln liegen 1500 km südlich von den kanarischen Inseln und 500 km westlich vom
afrikanischen Festland auf der Höhe von Senegal. (15° Breite).
Klima
Das Klima ist für Europäer ganzjährig hervorragend erträglich. Es wird in den Sommermonaten nicht zu heiß
und es regnet nur an wenigen Tagen im Jahr (August bis Mitte Oktober) nur stundenweise. Klimatische
Durchschnittswerte: Wasser: 21° -- 28°C, Luft: 24° -- 30°C, Luftfeuchtigkeit: 40% -- 60%
Anreise
Santiago ist die größte Insel der Kapverden mit der Hauptstadt Praia. Die Stadt Tarrafal liegt 65 km entfernt
am Nordende der Insel. Hier befindet sich das KING FISHER RESORT.
Transfer
Die Fahrzeit vom Flughafen Praia nach Tarrafal per Taxi ca. 75 Minuten
Visum
Für die Kapverden brauchen Sie ein Visum. Das Visum erhalten Sie über die Botschaft der Kapverden. Hier

Flüge
Preiswerte Flüge von Deutschland über Lissabon nach Praia/Santiago werden beispielsweise von TUIfly,
TAP, Air Berlin und anderen Fluggesellschaften .
Wohnen
Die Ferienanlage befindet sich direkt am Atlantik, an der Felsenbucht "Punta a tum"
* jedes Haus ist mit viel Aufwand individuell und einzigartig gestaltet
* alle Ferienhäuser haben europäischen Standard und verfügen über Terrassen mit Meerblick
* kein Bett ist weiter als 25 m vom Meer entfernt
* die Häuser sind alle mit kaltem und warmen Wasser in Küche und Bad ausgestattet

Die Wohnungen besitzen Küchen für Selbstversorger. Unsere Küchenausstattungen: Gasherd,
Kühlschrank, Spüle, Geschirrschrank, Tafelgeschirr, Kochgeschirr, div. Küchenutensilien. Frühstück können
sie auch in unserem Restaurant bestellen.
Die Zimmer haben keine Küche. Sie sind jedoch mit einem Kühlschrank und einer Kafeemaschine
ausgestattet. Alle Zimmer haben ein Bad und eine Sonnenterrasse mit Meerblick.

Ausstattung
70 Stahlflaschen 10/12/15l, Bauer Kompressor, Bleigurte, 2 offene Duschen, Gemeinschaftsraum mit
Steckdosen, Arbeitsplätze für Laptop mit Stromanschluss, TV-Gerät. Lampen oder Akkus können hier mit
230V aufgeladen werden. Komplette Leihausrüstungen mit Neoprenanzug. Um Massenbetrieb unter Wasser
zu vermeiden, wird nur in Gruppen bis maximal 6 Personen getaucht. Kurze Wege zum Boot und kurze
Fahrtzeiten gestalten das Tauchen bei uns sehr bequem.
Die Tauchplätze
Typisch für die Unterwasserlandschaft der vulkanischen Kapverden sind massive Felsblöcke, Türme,
Höhlen, Canyons, Tore, Stufen und Steilabhänge. Die Felswände zeigen dichten Bewuchs mit einigen
Korallenarten, Hydrozooen, Algen und gelb leuchtenden Krustenanemonen. Die Kapverden zählen noch zu
den fischreichsten Gebieten der Welt. Hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit alle im südlichen Atlantik lebenden
Großfische und auch Meeressäuger zu entdecken.
Die geographische Lage der Tauchgebiete im Windschatten des Nord-Ost-Passates bietet für
Atlantikverhältnisse ruhige Bedingungen, und somit optimale Voraussetzungen für Tauchkurse. Allein im
Nahbereich der Bucht "Punta a tum" und der "Baia Verde" gibt es 14 interessante Tauchpunkte, die mit dem
Boot angesteuert werden. In der Regel gibt es keine Strömung. Im oberen Bereich auf dem Riffdach muss
allerdings in der Dünung getaucht werden. Die Tiefen liegen zwischen 10 - 25 m.
Die Sichtweite beträgt, je nach der Jahreszeit, zwischen 10 - 20 m.

Position
The Cabo Verde Islands are situated 450 km west of the coast of Senegal (15°lat.) and 1500 km south of the
Canary Islands. The archipelago is situated year-round in the trade wind-zone.
Climate
For europeans the climate ist sufferably very well all over the year. It is not too hot in summer and there are
only a few days with rain showers for few hours only (from august to mid october).

Arrival
Santiago is the biggest island with the capital Praia at the south coast. Up in the north 65 km far away is the
town of Tarrafal with the KING FISHER RESORT.
Transfer
The transfer by car (Taxi) from Praia to Tarrafal is about 75 minutes. the price is about 70 €. (We
recommend to haggle about it.) For groups we recommend a pick up shuttle (Aluguer).
Visa
You need a visa to enter the country. You should apply for one in the embassy of Cape Verde in your
country.You can get one while entering the airport as well. But attention the risk: There is no liability in that.
Flights
Low-budget flights are available from all over Europe to Lissabon (PT), continued by daily flights directly
to Praia (CV).
Lodging
The King Fisher Resort is built directly at the shore of the rocky bay "Punta a tum"
• Each house is built in a unique design with much comfort
• All houses are built with european standards an have a terrace with view to the sea
• The maximum distance between bed - sea is 25 meters
• You will find cold and warm water in the kitchens and bathrooms
• Colonial fans are installed over every bed
• There is a direct access to the sea over a ladder
• If you like you can order breakfast and / or dinner in our resort
• Every house with a terrace is provided with deckchairs
There are kitchen in each house. So you can provide yourself and cook your own meals. You will find all the
necessary equipment, such as: Fridge, gas-stove, sink, cupboards, dinner-sets, canteens and div.
paraphernalia. But of course you can order breakfasts in our restaurant as well.
Singhlerooms and doublerooms don´t have a kitchen, but thy are equipped with a coffemaker and a fridge.
They all have a bathroom and a terrace with view to the sea.

We offer PADI - dive courses for beginners and advanced divers with examination.
We speak English, German an Portuguese.
Equipment
70 tanks 10/12/15l, Bauer compressor, lead belts, 2 open showers, a room with mains plugs, working places
for your laptop with mains plugs & TV-set: Torches or accumulators can be charged with 230V complete
equipment to rent, including wetsuit. We dive with maximum groups of 6 divers only. Short ways to the
boat and a few minutes of boat trip makes diving with us very comfortable.
The divesites
The wild and rough eroded volcanic structure of Santiagos landscape continues under the surface of the sea.
So massive rocks, towers, pinnacles, caves, canyons, arches, steps, sandy grounds and drop offs are forming
the submarine landscape of our dive sites. The rocks and walls are covered with a dense vegetation of some
stone corals and soft corals, alges and hydrozooa. It is a rich habitat of invertebrates, fishes, crustacea,
mussels, snails .............
The sea around the Cape Verde islands is one of the richest waters of the world in fish and marine life. You
might discover all the big fishes that are living in the southern Atlantic. The leeward position of our divesites
guarantee calm conditions under water and thus optimal conditions for dive courses (Beginners + Open
water divers). In the close neighbourhood of the bay "Punta a tum" and the "Baia Verde" there are 14
interesting divesites to which we drive with the boat within a few minutes. Normally there is no current.
Though you have to dive in the swell on the reeftops in shallow dept. The depts are between 10 - 25 m. The
visibility depends on the season and reaches from 10m up to 20 m.
