explore and analyse how international youth projects can be used to
work with young people in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas; present
good practices of previous urban youth projects and deduce principles
for working effectively with this target group; develop how the Youth in
Action projects can contribute to change in young people's lives living
in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas

Overview of the situation of young people in (sub)urban areas in
different countries - commonalities and differences
Presentation of former youth projects in disadvantaged (sub)urban
areas (by participants) - analysis of challenges encountered and
ways/methods to overcome them
Presentation/sharing of existing resources (programmes, funding,
methods, approaches,...) relevant for working with young people
in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas

4. Europäisches Training „Streetwise!“

Aims of the training:
1. to develop the ability of the participants to be inclusive in their work:
a. Develop the skills so one can handle groups and
individuals from a background of exclusion in a
constructive (inclusive) manner.
b. Develop awareness for mechanisms of exclusion.
c. Create strategies and mechanisms of inclusion.
d. Become aware how personal background influences on
how you look at and deal with groups and individuals of
another social background.
2. to develop the ability of the participants to use the youth in action
program as a tool to create positive image formation about the
groups and individuals involved toward the larger society.
3. to develop the ability of the participants to use the youth in action
program as a tool to create positive experiences for the
participants.
4. to motivate the participants in using action 1,2 and 3 in this
manner.
