Applications

The application list for this product has been compiled cross
referencing the OEM Tool Code with the Component Code.
In den meisten Fällen sind die Werkzeuge spezifisch für diesen
Motortyp und dienen zur Wartung des Zahnriemens oder der
Steuerkette.
In most cases the tools are specific to this type of engine and
are necessary for Cam belt or chain maintenance.
Wenn der Motor kein Freiläufer ist, kommt es zu einem Motorschaden durch Kontakt zwischen Ventil und Kolben, wenn das
Fahrzeug mit beschädigtem Zahnriemen betrieben wird.
Vor Ausbau des Zylinderkopfes sollte eine Kompressionsprüfung an allen Zylindern durchgeführt werden. Vor einem
Wechsel von Zahnriemen oder Steuerkette ist ein geeignetes
Werkstatthandbuch zu Rate zu ziehen. Die Verwendung
dieser Motoreinstell-Werkzeuge erfolgt nach Ermessen des
Anwenders, und Tool Connection haftet nicht für eventuelle
Schäden.
If the engine has been identified as an interference engine
valve to piston damage will occur if the engine is run with a
broken Cam belt.
A compression check of all cylinders should be performed
before removing the cylinder head. Always consult a suitable
work shop manual before attempting to change the Cam belt
or Chain. The use of these engine timing tools is purely down to
the user’s discretion and

Arretiert den Motor für die Prüfung und Einstellung der
Steuerzeiten der Nockenwellen sowie für den Ausbau oder
Austausch der Steuerkette. Dieser Satz beinhaltet auch das
VANOS-Blech, das zur Arretierung des variablen Ventilsteuerungssystems in der richtigen Position benötigt wird.
Locks the engine to check and adjust the camshaft timing
and remove or replace the cam chain. This kit also includes
the VANOS plate which is required to lock the variable valve
timing system in the correct position.
Vorbereitung
Aufgrund der Lage des Kettentriebs ist es für den Ausbau oder
Wiedereinbau der Steuerkette und des Zahnrads erforderlich,
den Sumpf auszubauen.
Der Motor sollte bei OT Nr. 1 eingestellt werden.
Zur Sicherheit sollte geprüft werden, ob sich die Nockenwellen
in der OT-Position Nr. 1 befinden, wenn die Schlitze am Ende
der Nocken vertikal stehen und die Nocken an Zylinder Nr. 1
vertikal und leicht nach außen stehen.
Zur Einstellung der Steuerzeiten müssen die Bolzen der Nockenwellenräder gelöst werden.
Die Haltebolzen des Nockenwellenrads sollten nicht wiederverwendet werden.
Preparation
Due to positioning of the chain drive it will be necessary to
remove the sump for removal or refitting the timing chain and
sprocket.
The engine should be set at TDC no.1.
As a precautionary check the camshafts are in their TDC No
1 position when the slots in the end of the cams is facing vertically and the cam lobes on No 1cylinder are pointing vertically
and slightly outwards.
If the timing needs to be adjusted the camshaft sprockets bolts
will need to be loosened.
The camshaft sprocket retaining bolts should not be re-used.
