POWERTEX Closed Body Rigging Screw
Instruction for use (GB) (Original instructions)
Read through these user instructions carefully before using the closed body
rigging screw. Improper operation may lead to hazardous situations!
1. EC Declaration of conformance is required and report of thorough excamination.
2. Before use each rigging screw should be inspected to ensure that:
• all markings in the product are readable and in compliance with the relevant documentation.
• the components are assembled in correct way.
• body and end terminals shall not be distorted or unduly worn.
• Body and terminals are free from nicks, cracks, grooves and corrosion.
If there is any doubt with regards to the above criteria being met, the rigging screw should not be used.
3. Before putting load on it is important to ensure that the terminals are safely locked.
All threads in the ends of the body must be fully engaged with the terminal threads,
and safety locked with the stop nuts.
4. Turnbuckles should be fitted to the load in a manner that allows the turnbuckle to
take the load in a true line along its centerline to avoid much bending stresses which
will reduce the load capacity of the turnbuckle. To avoid eccentric loading of the terminal it is recommended to distribute the load as for as possible over the total length
of the pin or to use loose spacers.
5. Temperature range: -20°C - +200°C.
6. Never modify the fittings eg. to reduce the inside with of a terminals by pressing
on the side eyes or welding washers / spacers to the inside of the eyes – such action
makes the declaration of conformance invalid.
7. For lifting! Do not length adjust under load.

Bedienungsanleitung (DE) (Übersetzung der Originalbetriebsanleitung)
Lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch, bevor Sie den Wantenspanner verwenden. Eine unsachgemäße Verwendung kann zu Gefahrensituationen führen!
1. Der Benutzer ist verpflichtet, ein gültiges Testzertifikat für alle bei einem Hebevorgang eingesetzten Wantenspanner vorlegen zu können.
2. Vor der Verwendung muss jeder Wantenspanner überprüft werden, um sicherzustellen, dass:
• alle Kennzeichen auf dem Produkt lesbar sind und mit den Angaben im jeweiligen Testzertifikat übereinstimmen.
• alle Bauteile auf richtige Weise montiert sind.
• das Gehäuse und die Endanschlüsse nicht beschädigt oder übermäßig verschlissen sind.
• Gehäuse und Anschlüsse keinerlei Kerben, Risse, Furchen oder Korrosion aufweisen.
Falls es Zweifel hinsichtlich der Einhaltung der obigen Kriterien gibt, darf der Wantenspanner nicht verwendet werden.
3. Bevor Last angelegt wird, muss unbedingt sichergestellt werden, dass die Anschlüsse sicher verriegelt sind.
Alle Gewinde an den Gehäuseenden müssen voll in die Anschlussgewinde eingedreht und sicher mit den Kontermuttern verriegelt sein.
4. An der Last sollten Wantenspanner so angebracht sein, dass der Wantenspanner
die Last auf einer Linie aufnehmen kann. Biegespannungen müssen vermieden
werden, weil diese die Belastungsfähigkeit des Wantenspanners beeinträchtigen.
Um eine asymmetrische Belastung der Endanschlüsse zu vermeiden, sollten die
Lastbolzen mittig belastet und mittels Distanzscheiben gegen Verrutschen der Last
gesichert werden.
5. Temperaturbereich: -20°C - +200°C.
Versuchen Sie niemals, den Innendurchmesser eines Anschlusses durch Ausübung
von Druck auf die Ösen oder durch Anschweißen von Unterlegscheiben/Abstandshülsen an die Innenseite der Ösen zu verringern. Durch solche Vorgänge erlischt das Prüfzeugnis.
