What a summer
experience.
Der Sommer am Kitzsteinhorn. Ein Erlebnis für sich. Direkt am Nationalpark Hohe Tauern und inmitten der höchsten Berge Österreichs
gelegen, zeigt sich die hochalpine Natur von ihrer spektakulärsten
Seite. Am Gletscher trotzt der Schnee selbst den hochsommerlichen
Temperaturen im Tal. Massive Felsformationen wechseln sich mit
grün bewachsenen, blühenden Hügellandschaften ab. Kristallklare
Bergbäche sorgen für wohltuende Erfrischung, die Panoramablicke
lassen einen demütig werden. Und mit ein wenig Glück kann man
Murmeltiere, Gämse oder sogar Steinadler beobachten.
Summer on the Kitzsteinhorn is an experience in itself. Right next to the
Hohe Tauern National Park and situated amidst the highest mountains
in Austria, the high alpine nature is at its most spectacular. Up on the
glacier the snow defies even the high summer temperatures down in
the valley. Mighty rock formations jut out among the green hilltops and
meadows strewn with flowers. The crystal clear mountain streams are
a welcome source of refreshment and the panoramic views make one
feel very humble indeed. With a bit of luck you might spot a marmot,
a chamois or a golden eagle.

2c | Almrosenweg (Rundwanderweg):
Der kurze Rundweg startet bei der Häuslalm und führt vorbei an einer
mit Almrosen bedeckten Hügellandschaft, saftig-grünen Almwiesen
mit sprudelnden Bächen und wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
Höhenmeter: 15, Länge: 580 m
2c | Almrosen trail (circular hiking path)
This short circular route, which begins at the Häuslalm, runs over hills
covered in Almrosen (alpine roses), juicy green alm meadows with
bubbling brooks and back again to the starting point.

LANGWIEDIBODEN

Am Langwiedboden auf 1.976 m warten drei, besonders familienfreundliche, Rundwanderwege mit wunderschönen Aussichtspunkten
auf die umliegende Bergwelt, ins Tal und auf den Zeller See.
There are three, very family-friendly, circular walking paths on the
Langwiedboden at an altitude of 1.976m - with beautiful viewing
points overlooking the valley and the Zell am See lake.
2d | Häuslalmweg (Rundwanderweg)
Der leichte Rundweg beginnt bei der Häuslalm und führt über hügeliges Gelände durch üppige Almrosenweiden an einer alten Hirtenruine vorbei und entlang des Grubbaches durch eine wunderschöne
Naturlandschaft wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
Höhenmeter: 41, Länge: 1.100 m
2d | Häuslalm trail (circular hiking path)
This easy circular route begins at the Häuslalm and runs through
beautiful landscape over hilly terrain covered in alpine roses, passes
an old shepherd´s ruin and then runs along the Grub stream back to
the starting point.
Difference in altitude: 41 m, Length: 1.100 m
41d | Hirterbodenweg (Rundwanderweg)
Der breite Rundweg startet bei der Häuslalm und führt vorbei an
traumhaften Aussichtspunkten auf das Zeller Becken bis zu einer
alten Hirtenruine. Der Weg eignet sich besonders für Familien mit
Kleinkindern und ist mit Ruhebereichen ausgestattet.

41d | Hirterboden trail (circular hiking path)
This wide circular path starts at the Häuslalm and runs passed breath­
taking viewing points of the Zell basin to an old shepherd´s ruin. It is
an ideal path for families with small children and has resting areas.

5 | Alexander Enzinger path
To the Maiskogel This alpine walk starts at the Alpincenter and runs
over an impressive high path, with a variety of alpine flora and unique
panoramic views, to the Maiskogel. From there one can either walk or
take the wander bus to Kaprun.
Duration: 4 hrs. to the Maiskogelalm (start wander bus), 6 hrs. to Kaprun
To the Langwiedboden (descent over 5a) Alexander Enzinger
path in a shorter version: one follows the high path (5) from the
Alpincenter to the junction with the Wanderweg 5a, descent to Langwiedboden and then ride down to the Kitzsteinhorn valley station with
the cable car. Duration: 2 hours
41a | Panoramaweg Gletscherblick:
Gemütliche, erlebnisreiche Rundwanderung vom Alpincenter zur
Gletschermoräne mit herrlich weiten Ausblicken auf den Gletscher,
den Gletschersee und ins Tal. Dauer: 30 Minuten
41a | Panorama trail glacier view:
A comfortable, exciting tour from the Alpincenter to the glacier
moraine with many wonderful long-distance views onto the
glacier, the glacier lake and into the valley. Duration: 30 minutes

Das Alpincenter auf 2.450 m ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für abwechslungsreiche Wanderungen für die ganze Familie und anspruchsvolle hochalpine Touren im Nationalpark Hohe Tauern.
At an altitude of 2,450 m, the Alpincenter is the ideal starting point for
a variety of different hikes for the whole family as well as exceptional
high alpine tours within the Hohe Tauern National Park.
5 | Alexander Enzinger Weg
Zum Maiskogel Die hochalpine Wanderung startet beim Alpincenter
und führt über den beeindruckenden Höhenweg mit vielfältiger alpiner
Flora und einzigartigen Panoramablicken zum Maiskogel. Von dort aus
geht es mit dem Wanderbus oder zu Fuß nach Kaprun.
Dauer: 4 Std. bis Maiskogelalm (Start Wanderbus), 6 Std. bis Kaprun
Zum Langwiedboden (Abstieg über 5a) Alexander Enzinger Weg
in verkürzter Variante: Ab Alpincenter folgt man dem Höhenweg (5),
bis zur Abzweigung Wanderweg 5a, Abstieg zum Langwiedboden und
Talfahrt mit der Seilbahn zur Kitzsteinhorn-Talstation. Dauer: 2 Stunden
41b | Wanderung Gletschersee:
Vom Alpincenter führt die Route zum Gletscherblick, über die Moräne
zum smaragdgrünen Gletschersee, vorbei an Gletscherschliffen und
Bächen, schönen Aussichtspunkten und wieder zurück zum Alpincenter.
Dauer: 60 Minuten
41b | Hike glacier lake:
From the Alpincenter, this route leads to the glacier vantage point via
the moraine to the emerald-green glacier lake, past glacially formed
polished rock and streams, lovely vantage points and then back again
to the Alpincenter. Duration: 60 minutes
41c | Rundwanderung Rettenwand:
Ausgehend vom Alpincenter zu den interessanten geologischen
Gesteinsformen am Fuße des Tristingers und der Rettenwand. Vom
Aussichtspunkt am Graswandkreuz geht es über den Panoramaweg
Gletscherblick wieder zurück zum Alpincenter. Dauer: 75 Minuten
41c | “Rettenwand” circular hike:
Starting from the Alpincenter up to the interesting geological formations
at the foot of the “Tristinger” and “Rettenwand” heights. From the vantage point at the “Graswandkreuz“, the route leads back to the Alpincenter
via the panorama trail glacier view. Duration: 75 minutes

Geführte Wanderung am Kitzsteinhorn
Guided tour on the Kitzsteinhorn
Nach der Auffahrt zur Gipfelstation auf 3.029 m, einem Rundgang im
Gletscherschnee und einer Rutschpartie in der ICE ARENA starten Sie
mit Ihrem Wanderführer beim Alpincenter auf 2.450 m. Auf der
Wanderung erleben Sie die vielfältige hochalpine Flora und einzigartige
Ausblicke auf Berg und Tal. Endpunkt ist der Langwiedboden (1.976 m),
von dort aus geht es mit der Seilbahn retour zur Kitzsteinhorn Talstation.
After riding up to the summit station at 3.029 m, having a round in
glacial snow and sliding around the ICE ARENA, you start off with your
hiking guide from the Alpincenter at 2.450 m to the Langwiedboden at
1.976 m. On the walk you will see a variety of alpine flora and unique
views of the mountains and valley. The cable car takes you from there
to the Kitzsteinhorn valley station.

Close to the Alpincenter, climbers can discover climbing areas with
a variety of routes at the “Rettenwand” heights and “Gletscherseeplatten” plateau. Trail maps available under www.kitzsteinhorn.at

metern (ca. 1 Stunde) Ihr 3000er-Gipfelglück. Once on top you can feel
the power of the high alpine peaks and an intense feeling of freedom.
With a state-certified mountain guide and secured by ropes for a climb
of 200 m (approx. 1 hour) you can experience the joy of conquering
a 3000 m peak.

Freeride Trails.
Insgesamt umfasst das Mountainbike-Freeride-Angebot am Kitzsteinhorn drei Abschnitte. Die durchgehende Abfahrt vom Alpincenter bis
ins Tal beträgt nahezu 12 km und überwindet 1.500 Höhenmeter.
Uphill-Fahrer genießen die Auffahrt zum Alpincenter über den Maiskogel auf dem Astenweg.
The mountainbike freeride options are divided into three sections. There is an uninterrupted 12 km trail from the Alpincenter down into the
valley with a difference in altitude of 1500 metres. Those riding uphill
to the Alpincenter can enjoy the Maiskogel route on the Astenweg trail.

Musikfest mit traditionellen Alphorngruppen, Pinzgauer
Spezialitäten zur Verkostung und einer geführten Rundwanderung (10:00 Uhr ab Alpincenter, Gehzeit: ca. 1 Std).
Die Wanderung bietet traumhafte Ausblicke auf die hochalpine Bergwelt und entlang des Weges spielen Alphornbläser
auf. Anschließend heißt es Frühschoppen mit der Musikkapelle
Kaprun im Restaurant Gletschermühle.

Musik-Sonntag in der Gletschermühle
Pinzgauer Musikanten spielen jeden Sonntag auf und verwöhnen die Gäste im Restaurant Gletschermühle auf 2.450 Meter
mit beschwingter heimischer „Musi“. Serviert werden dazu
auch frisch zubereitete Österreichische Klassiker und regionale
Spezialitäten aus dem Pinzgau – für den Augenschmaus sorgen
beeindruckende Panoramablicke.

Music festival with traditional Alphorn music groups, tasting
of Pinzgau culinary specialities and a guided tour (10am
from Alpincenter, duration: ca. 1 hour).
The walk offers breathtaking views of the high alpine mountain world whilst Alphorn musicians play along the path.
Afterwards there is entertainment with the local Kaprun
brass band in the Restaurant Gletschermühle.

Salzburg”! Salzburg’s highest panorama platform offers tremendous
views into the valley, onto the lake Zeller See and of the seemingly
endless mountain chain of the Limestone Alps.
Dive into the mystic inner world of the mountain. A 360 metre mine
shaft goes through the Kitzsteinhorn peak with many exciting tales to
tell: from the emergence of the Hohe Tauern range, Tauern gold and
crystal treasures, permafrost and technology on the Kitzsteinhorn peak.
During a guided tour with a National Park ranger you can experience
fascinating insights into and views of the Hohe Tauern National Park:
From Salzburg‘s highest panorama platform “Top of Salzburg” the tour
continues through the National Park Gallery with 5 information stations
on the mystic world inside the mountain. A high point of the guided
tour is the visit to the panorama platform of the National Park Gallery.

the Reiterkogel, the homeland path with it‘s Montelino‘s
summit playground on the Zwölferkogel or Leo‘s waterworld and the Mountain of Senses on the Asitz, with over
30 different stations to amaze you. Visit the herb and alpine plant walks on the Reiterkogel and the Asitz, have a go
on the summer sound toboggan run “LeoKlang“ at 1,800 m,
or get a real adrenaline kick with the Flying Fox XXL. There
are loads of events, ranging from family parties to cool biking
or high culture events, giving you plenty to choose from as
entertainment in the mountains.
