Bernreuter Research gibt Report über 150 Branchenunternehmen heraus
Würzburg, 8. April 2010 – Die Polysiliziumindustrie muss 2011 mit einer größeren Marktbereinigung rechnen. Dies ist eines der Ergebnisse des neuen Marktforschungsreports The Who’s Who of Solar Silicon Production, den Bernreuter Research heute veröffentlicht hat. Polysilizium, der Rohstoff für die Halbleiter‐ und Photovoltaikindustrie, war bis 2009 knapp, bevor der Markt in eine Über‐
angebotssituation kippte. Da die Nachfrage in wichtigen Photovoltaikmärkten 2010 Potenzial nach oben hat, wird der Druck auf den Siliziumpreis dieses Jahr voraussichtlich begrenzt sein. 2011 erscheint jedoch eine größere Marktbereini‐
gung in der Polysiliziumindustrie unvermeidlich. Ohne Marktkorrektur könnten chinesische Hersteller 2012 bis zu 80.000 Ton‐
nen produzieren, etwa ein Drittel der weltweiten Menge von 250.000 Tonnen, so das Szenario von Bernreuter Research. “Die chinesische Polysiliziumindu‐
strie wird zweifellos ein wichtiger Akteur auf dem Weltmarkt werden”, sagt Frank Haugwitz, Photovoltaik‐Berater in Beijing (Peking) und Koautor des Reports. Allerdings sind etwa 20 kleinere Hersteller, die Ende 2009 eine jährli‐
che Produktionskapazität von nur 1.500 Tonnen oder noch weniger hatten, die ersten möglichen Kandidaten für eine Marktkonsolidierung. Bernreuter Research hat auch neun alternative Produktionsverfahren zum konventionellen Siemens‐Prozess untersucht, die durch den Siliziummangel in den vergangenen Jahren beflügelt wurden. “Kurzfristig wird kein einziges dem Siemens‐Prozess ernsthaft Konkurrenz machen”, sagt Johannes Bernreuter, Chef von Bernreuter Research und Leitautor des Reports. “Insbesondere die Wirbelschichtreaktor‐Technologie hat nicht die niedrigeren Produktionskosten gebracht, die sie versprach.” Eine andere Alternative, aufbereitetes metallurgi‐
sches Silizium (UMG‐Silizium), wird mit einem Marktanteil von weniger als einem Prozent bis 2012 nur eine marginale Rolle spielen. Mit 96 Firmenprofilen und 54 zusätzlichen Projektbeschreibungen bietet The Who’s Who of Solar Silicon Production umfassende und detaillierte Informationen über 150 Hersteller und Aspiranten in der Polysilizium‐ und UMG‐Silizium‐
