La favola del Principato
Il Principato di Monaco è un
autentico simbolo della mondanità
e del lusso più sfrenato, in questa
giornata potrete apprezzarne
anche gli aspetti culturalmente più
rilevanti.
Trasferimento a Monaco (40 km 1h30’ ca.) lungo la strada costiera
panoramica che attraversa Bordighera,
Ventimiglia, Mentone e Cap Martin.
In mattinata, prima di entrare in città
vi consigliamo la visita del giardino
esotico, ricco di oltre 6.000 varietà di
piante e cactacee provenienti da tutto
il mondo e dal quale si gode una vista
impareggiabile della costa.
Una volta giunti nei pressi del porto si potrà parcheggiare e accedere alla
Rocca, la città vecchia, dove si potrà passeggiare fra botteghe artigiane
e negozietti e visitare la bellissima
cattedrale dedicata a St. Nicolas,
costruita nel 1875 in pietra bianca
della Turbie. Da non perdere il
tradizionale cambio della guardia
davanti al Palazzo del Principe, il
quale è a sua volta visitabile da
giugno ad ottobre.
Una visita da non perdere
è quella del famoso
Museo Oceanografico,
dedicato a tutte le
scienze del mare, dove
potrete ammirare una
serie eccezionale di
acquari e una collezione
unica di modelli di navilaboratorio e realizzazioni
artigianali. Sulla Rocca
vi inviamo a pranzare in
un ristorantino tipico, che abbiamo selezionato per voi. Nel pomeriggio
è d’obbligo una tappa alla elegante Place du Casino dove potrete
gustare un drink al Cafè de Paris, o tentare la sorte ai tavoli verdi del
Casinò o alle slot machines del SunCasino. Piacevole prima del rientro
una passeggiata sul lungomare con una tappa al delizioso giardino
giapponese, dedicato alla memoria della principessa Grace. Rientro in

The Story of the Principality

The Principality of Monaco is home to the jet set, symbol of high society and
unlimited extravagance. On this trip you can also appreciate many of the
important cultural aspects.
Transfer to Monaco (40 km – around 1 h 30 mins) along the panoramic coastal
road that crosses Bordighera, Ventimiglia, Mentone and Cap Martin.
In the morning, before visiting the city, we recommend a trip to the exotic
gardens, abundant with more than 6,000 plant and cactus varieties from all over
the world. The garden also boasts stupendous views of the coastline. Once you
arrive at the port, we will park and climb the ‘Rocca’, the old city, where you
can walk at your leisure among the workshops of local craftsmen and visit the
beautiful cathedral dedicated to St. Nicholas. It was constructed in 1875 from
Turbian white stone. Don’t miss the traditional changing of the guard in front of
Princes’s Palace, which is open to visitors between June and October. Don’t forget
to also visit the famous Oceanographic Museum that hosts an immense collection
of oceanographic artefacts such as a series of aquariums and a unique collection
of hand crafted naval tools.
On the ‘Rocca’, lunch in a typical restaurant of our own recommendation awaits
the hungry visitor. In the afternoon a stop at the Place du Casino is a must where
you can have a drink at Café de Paris, try your luck at one of the green tables in
the Casino or on the slot machines in the SunCasino. A walk by the sea would
be a pleasant way to while the late afternoon away with a stop in the Japanese
garden dedicated to Princess Grace.

Küste hat. Nach Ankunft und Parken am Hafen geht es hinauf zur Rocca, der
Altstadt, wo sich ein Bummel durch die Gassen mit ihren Handwerksbetrieben
und Geschäftchen sowie ein Besuch der 1875 aus weißem Turbie-Stein errichteten
wunderschönen St. Nicolas-Kathedrale anbieten. Auch den traditionellen
Wachwechsel vor dem Fürstenpalast, der täglich von June bis Oktober stattfindet,
sollten Sie nicht versäumen. Ebenfalls unbedingt sehenswert ist das berühmte
Ozeanografische Museum mit seinen faszinierenden Aquarien, einer einzigartigen
Sammlung von Forschungsschiffmodellen und Kunsthandwerk. Auf der Rocca
werden Sie Ihr Mittagessen in einem kleinen typischen Restaurant einnehmen,
das wir für Sie ausgewählt haben. Am Nachmittag steht selbstverständlich ein
Abstecher zur eleganten Place du Casino auf dem Programm, wo Sie entweder

d’arte moderna una tappa obbligata è il museo di arte contemporanea
(sempre nella zona della place Masséna), come la visita del museo
Matisse, che si trova invece a ridosso della zona archeologica di Cimiez.
Rientro lungo la spettacolare Grand Corniche con tappa al borgo
medievale di Eze village, perfettamente conservato, e poi in autostrada.

l’opportunità di scoprire il meglio
della Costa Azzurra, apprezzandone
le bellezze naturalistiche e storiche e

Tragitto in autostrada fino a Cannes (80
km - 1h ca.). In mattinata vi attende
un’interessante gita in battello alle
isole di Lerins (Sainte Marguerite e
Saint Honorat), con partenza ogni
mezz’ora dal terminal marittimo situato
a fianco del Palais des Festivals. Le
isole sono un parco marino protetto, e
merita una visita la splendida abbazia risalente al VI secolo che sorge
sull’isola di Saint Honorat, sede di una congregazione di frati cistercensi.
Vi suggeriamo il rientro a Cannes per pranzare sulla Croisette, dove si
affacciano i grand hôtel della belle époque e le boutique più esclusive,
presso un ristorante che abbiamo selezionato per Voi. Nel pomeriggio
trasferimento a Nizza lungo la costa passando per Juan les Pins e
Cap d’Antibes. (30 km - 40’ ca.). Entrando in città dal mare lungo la
Promenade des Anglais, vi suggeriamo una sosta per visitare la Chiesa
Russa, per poi parcheggiare nei pressi della place Masséna, da dove
potrete andare alla scoperta dei caratteristici vicoli della città vecchia,
ricca di negozietti di artigianato e souvenir, e dove il martedì e sabato si

On this trip you have the opportunity to discover the best of the Costa Azzura,
appreciating the natural beauty and history while breathing the atmosphere of
one of the most fashionable coastlines in Europe.
Take the motorway to Cannes (80 km – around 1hour).
The morning will take you on an interesting boat trip to Isole di Lerins (Saint
Marguerite and Saint Honourat), leaving every half an hour from the boat terminal
situated opposite the Palais des Festivals. The island is a protected maritime park
and merits a visit. The Abbey, built on the island by Saint Honourat, dates back to
the VI century and is now a congress centre for Cistercian monks. We suggest that
you return to Cannes for lunch in a restaurant on the Croisette, specially chosen
for you, where your surroundings will include the fascinating Grand Hotel of the
belle époque along with exclusive and high-end boutiques.
In the afternoon transfer to Nice along the coast road passing by Juan Les Pins
and Cap d’Antibes. (30 km – around 40 mins)
On entering the city along the Promenade des Anglais, we recommend a short
stop to visit the Chiesa Russa (Russian Church). After, park in Place Massena and
take a walk through the characteristic narrow streets of the old town, crammed
full of craft and souvenir shops. On Tuesdays and Saturdays you can find the
flower market. Mondays is a flea market.
For those passionate about modern art you must stop at the Museo di Arte
Contemporanea in the Place Massena area. Museo Matisse is also highly
recommended in the historical area of Cimiez. Return along the spectacular Grand
Corniche with a stop at the perfectly preserved medieval village of Eze before
heading for home along the motorway (40 km – around 30mins).

ein Besuch der herrlichen Zisterzienser-Abtei aus dem 6. Jhdt. auf der Insel Saint
Honorat.
Nach der Rückkehr nach Cannes empfehlen wir Ihnen, in einem von uns
ausgewählten Restaurant an der Croisette zu Mittag zu essen. An dieser Straße
liegen die großen Hotels aus der Belle Epoque und die exklusivsten Boutiquen.
Am Nachmittag Transfer nach Nizza (an der Küste entlang über Juan les Pins und
Cap d’Antibes, 30 km – ca. 40’).
Auf dem Weg vom Meer in die Stadt über die Promenade des Anglais bietet sich
ein Abstecher zur Russisch-Orthodoxen Kirche an. Anschließend parkt man in
der Nähe der zentralen Place Masséna, von wo aus Sie in den charakteristischen
Gässchen der Altstadt mit ihren Kunsthandwerks- und Souvenirläden auf
Entdeckungsreise gehen können. Dienstags und samstags findet hier der
Blumenmarkt, montags ein Flohmarkt statt.
Für Freunde moderner Kunst ist ein Besuch im Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst
(auch dies in der Nähe der Place Masséna) oder aber im Matisse-Museum, das sich
hinter den Ausgrabungsstätten im Stadtteil Cimiez befindet, Pflicht.
Rückfahrt über die spektakuläre Grand Corniche mit Halt im perfekt erhaltenen
mittelalterlichen Örtchen Eze, anschließend über die Autobahn zurück (40 km – ca.
30’).

che si è acclimatata in maniera
splendida grazie al clima mite della
Riviera dei Fiori.
Trasferimento in località La Mortola
lungo il confine italo-francese (22 km
- 40’ ca).
Visita ai Giardini Hanbury, uno dei
più importanti giardini botanici del
mondo. Fondati nel 1867 da Sir
Thomas Hanbury, sono stati riportati
ai fasti antichi dell’Università di
Genova nel 1983. Su una estensione
complessiva di 18 ettari, 9 risultano occupati da specie spontanee e 9 da
flora esotica. Degni di particolare menzione sono le piante delle foreste
australiane, il giardino giapponese e le cicadee dell’estremo oriente. Nella
zona visita alle grotte preistoriche dei Balzi Rossi e all’annesso museo,
con possibile sosta presso la suggestiva spiaggetta di ghiaia bianca che
si apre fra le rocce a picco sul mare. Uno degli scorci più emozionanti
della Liguria. Rientro lungo l’Aurelia verso Bordighera e Ospedaletti, dove
per pranzo abbiamo selezionato per Voi un ottimo ristorante di pesce
direttamente sul mare in un luogo estremamente suggestivo.
Nel pomeriggio possibilità di visita al Giardino Esotico Pallanca,
spettacolare monumento naturalistico realizzato dai discendenti di
Bartolomeo Pallanca. Vi sono 3200 specie di piante, fra cui spicca la la
più importante collezione italiana di cactacee. La pianta più antica - una
“Copiapoa” originaria del Cile, che cresce sulle pendici delle Ande - ha
trecento anni.

A trip dedicated to the discovery of flowers from five continents that flourish
perfectly thanks to the mild climate of the Riviera of Flowers.
Transfer to La Mortola along the French-Italian border (22 km – around 40mins).
Visit the Giardini Hanbury, one of the most important botanical gardens in the
world. Founded in 1867 by Sir Thomas Hanbury, the flowers have been taken
to many memorable events in the Universita di Genova in 1983. On a space of
18 hectares nine are occupied by indigenous species and nine by exotic flowers.
Particular attention should be paid to the plants from the Australia forests, the
Japanese garden and the Cicadee from the Far East.
In the same area you can visit the prehistoric grottos of the Balzi Rossi and the
annex museum, with the chance to relax on the pretty little white shingle beach
that opens out between rocks to give a glimpse of the sea and one of the nicest
views of the Liguria.
Return along the Aurelia past Bordighera and Ospedaletti where we have selected
a great fish restaurant by the sea for lunch.
In the afternoon is the opportunity to visit the Giardino Esotico Pallanca.
A spectacular natural monument founded by the descendants of Bartolomeo
Pallanca. There are 3200 different species of plant, from which the most important
Italian collection of cacti has been selected. The oldest plant – a ‘Copiapoa’
originates from Chile and grows on the slopes of the Andes. It is three hundred
years old!
Ein Tag im Zeichen der Flora aller fünf Kontinente, die sich bestens an das
milde Klima der Blumenriviera akklimatisiert hat.
Transfer nach La Mortola an der italienisch-französischen Grenze (22 km – ca.
40’).
Besuch der Giardini Hanbury, eines der bedeutendsten botanischen Gärten der
Welt. Er wurde 1867 von Sir Thomas Hanbury angelegt und wird seit 1983 von
der Universität Genua in seinen ursprünglichen prächtigen Zustand zurückversetzt.
Von den 18 Hektar Gesamtfläche sind 9 von natürlicher Flora , 9 von Exoten
bedeckt. Besonders erwähnenswert sind die Arten aus australischen Wäldern, der
japanische Garten und die Zykas-Gewächse aus dem fernen Osten.
Ganz in der Nähe besuchen wir die prähistorischen Balzi Rossi-Höhlen und
das angeschlossene Museum. Ein kurzer Aufenthalt an dem kleinen, weißen
Kieselstrand zwischen den Felsen am Meer ist ebenfalls möglich. Dies ist einer
der beeindruckendsten Winkel Liguriens. Rückfahrt über die Via Aurelia Richtung
Bordighera und Ospedaletti, wo wir fürs Mittagessen ein hervorragendes
Fischrestaurant in wunderbarer Lage direkt am Meer für Sie ausgewählt haben.
Am Nachmittag Möglichkeit zum Besuch des Exoten-Gartens Pallanca, einem
eindrucksvollen Stückchen Natur, das die Nachkommen von Bartolomeo
Pallanca angelegt haben. Hier wachsen 3200 Pflanzenarten, darunter die
größte Kakteensammlung Italiens. Die älteste Pflanze, eine in Chile heimische
“Copiapoa”, die in den Anden vorkommt, ist dreihundert Jahre alt.

On this trip you can appreciate the more characteristic aspects and historic
traditions of the hinterland of the Riviera, characterised by green valleys,
punctuated by small stone villages, where the rhythm of life is much the same
as a thousand years before.
Transfer to the Nervia Valley along the coastal road that passes Bordigera and
Ospedaletti (20 km – around 30mins).
Stop in Dolceacqua, the birthplace of Andrea Doria, with a visit to the castle ruins,
the old town and the distinctive medieval bridge.
At Isolabona a visit to Antico Frantoio is not to be missed. This olive oil mill is
characteristic for its architecture and you will be treated to a tasting of typical
products accompanied by the famous local ruby red wine called Rossese di
Dolceacqua. (4km – 10’)
Following that the trip takes you to the medieval village of Apricale (350 m sim),
where we have chosen a very good restaurant so you can taste some of the
regions specialities.
In the afternoon, we invite you to discover the village that look like it has taken
root on the slopes of the mountains! Here you will be able to shop for crafts and
typical products.
Return along the ‘Via del Sale’ that boasts spectacular views of the Ligurian Alps.
You will pass small towns along the way such as Perinalso (700 m sim), Bajardo
(900 m sim), Coldirodi and finally Sanremo.
Bei dieser Tagestour lernen Sie die charakteristischsten Eigenschaften und
die ältesten Traditionen des Riviera-Hinterlands kennen, das sich durch grüne
Täler mit kleinen Dörfern aus Bruchsteinhäusern auszeichnet, wo das Leben

Besichtigung der Burgruine, der Altstadt und der mittelalterlichen Brücke.
Anschließend Weiterfahrt nach Isolabona, wo ein Besuch des Antico Frantoio
‘Pflicht’ ist: In dieser charakteristischen Ölmühle erwarten Sie Kostproben diverser
lokaler Spezialitäten und die guten einheimischen Weine, der Vermentino und der
Rossese di Dolceacqua, ein sehr geschätzter rubinroten Wein. (4km – 10’).
Weiterfahrt zum hübschen Örtchen Apricale (350 m NN), wo wir ein typisches
Restaurant für Sie ausgewählt haben, in dem Sie einige Spezialitäten der
einheimischen Küche probieren können.
Der Nachmittag steht Ihnen für einen Bummel durch die charakteristischen
Gässchen des Ortes, der sich an die Hänge der umgebenden Berge schmiegt, zur
Verfügung. Dabei sind Kunsthandwerksläden und kleine Geschäfte mit lokalen
Erzeugnissen zu entdecken. Rückkehr über die “Salzstraße”, die mit herrlicher

Trasferimento nella Valle Nervia
lungo la strada costiera che
attraversa Ospedaletti e Bordighera

Sosta a Dolceacqua, città natale di
Andrea Doria, con visita alle rovine
del castello, alla città vecchia e al
caratteristico ponte medievale.
Quindi, proseguimento per Isolabona,
dove d’obbligo è la visita all’Antico Frantoio, caratteristico per la
sua costruzione dove vi attende una degustazione di prodotti tipici
accompagnati dai pregiati vino locali quali, il Vermentino ed il Rossese di
Dolceacqua, pregiatissimo vino dal colore rosso rubino. (4 km – 10’)
Proseguimento per il delizioso borgo di Apricale(350 m slm), dove

In questa giornata vi condurremo
alla scoperta della produzione in
assoluto più tipica della Riviera:
l’olio extra-vergine d’oliva derivato
dalla tipica oliva taggiasca, piccola
e succosa, che cresce solo nella
Valle Argentina.
Trasferimento al borgo medievale di
Taggia lungo la via Aurelia (15 km 20’ ca.).
Visita del centro storico medievale,
che testimonia l’epoca in cui Taggia
era il centro principale dei commerci
e della vita della Riviera, e del bel
convento di San Domenico e della
sua ricca pinacoteca.
Nell’area visiterete la Casa Olearia Taggiasca, giovane azienda
produttrice del pregiato olio extravergine di oliva, ricavato dalla tipica
oliva taggiasca della Riviera. L’azienda dispone di uno stabilimento di
200 mq. che vi permetterà di visitare i vari reparti , tra questi quello
dedicato al confezionamento e allo stoccaggio. Al termine della visita,
possibilità di fare shopping nell’elegante showroom. (Durata 1h. c.a.)
Trasferimento ad Imperia, lungo la panoramica via Aurelia (20 km - 25’
ca.). Pausa pranzo presso un tipico ristorante della città.
Nel pomeriggio, visita al Frantoio di Sant’Agata di Oneglia, dove la
famiglia Mela, da molte generazioni, produce olii extra vergini di gran
pregio, da selezioni di olive della
sua terra e delle zone circostanti.
Il frantoio è noto anche per la
particolare preparazione di rinomate
specialità liguri molto ricercate
e sempre più diffuse fra cui il
tradizionale pesto, i pomodori secchi,
il paté di olive. (Durata 1h. c.a.)
A seguire visita di un saponificio
artigianale, dove scoprirete come
le scorie della lavorazione dell’olio
d’oliva si trasformano in profumati e
genuini saponi.

On this trip you will discover all the typical products of the Riviera; extra virgin
olive oil that comes from the typical olives of Taggia, small and succulent, they
grow in the Argentina valley.
Transfer to the medieval village of Taggia along via Aurelia (15 km – around
20mins).
Visit the historical medieval centre that is testimony to an age in which Taggia
was the centre of commercial life along the Riviera. Also visit the beautiful
convent of San Domenico and it’s rich picture galley. In the area you will also be
able to visit the Casa Olearia Taggiasca a small olive oil company that produces a
high quality of extra virgin oil using olives from the Taggia area of the Riviera. The
visitor will be able to see all parts of the company from the factory floor where
bottling takes place to the stock room. At the end of the visit a spot of shopping
in the smart showroom is also a must. (Lasts 1 hour)
Transfer to Imperia along the panoramic via Aurelia (20 km – around 25mins).
Stop for lunch at a typical local restaurant.
In the afternoon a visit to the Frantoio di Sant’Agata in Oneglia where for
generations the Mela family has produced a top quality extra virgin olive oil using
olives from their own land in the surrounding area. The mill is notable also for the
local specialities it offers including green pesto, sun dried tomatoes and olive pate.

Following that a visit to a local soap makers, where you will find out how
perfumed and pure olive oil soaps are made.
Return via the motorway (30 km – around 40mins).

Transfer über die Via Aurelia zum mittelalterlichen Ort Taggia (15 km – ca. 20’).
Besichtigung der mittelalterlichen Altstadt, die von Taggias Bedeutung als einem
der wichtigsten Handelsplätze jener Epoche an der Riviera zeugt, und des schönen
Dominikaner-Konvents mit seiner umfangreichen Gemäldesammlung.
In der Umgebung besichtigen Sie die ‘Casa Olearia Taggiasca’, eine junge Firma,
die aus den typischen Taggiasca-Oliven der Riviera ein sehr gutes natives Olivenöl
herstellt. Das Firmengebäude umfasst 200 m2; Sie werden dort die verschiedenen
Produktionsbereiche besichtigen, darunter auch die Abfüllanlage und das Lager.
Am Ende der Besichtigung können Sie im eleganten Show-Room ggf. Einkäufe

Transfer über die Küstenstraße Via Aurelia nach Imperia (20 km – ca.
25’). Mittagessen in einem typischen Restaurant der Stadt.
Am Nachmittag Besuch des Frantoio di Sant’Agata in Oneglia, wo die Familie
Mela seit vielen Generationen sehr hochwertige native Olivenöle aus ausgesuchten
Oliven der eigenen Ländereien und der Umgebung herstellt. Die Ölmühle ist auch
für die Zubereitung einiger besonderer ligurischer Spezialitäten bekannt, die immer
beliebter werden und immer weitere Verbreitung finden – darunter das traditionelle
Pesto (Basilikumsauße), getrocknete Tomaten und Olivenpaste. (Dauer 1h).
Anschließend Besichtigung einer Seifensiederei, wo Sie verfolgen können, wie
die Überreste der Olivenölherstellung zu duftenden oder naturbelassenen Seifen
verarbeitet werden. Rückkehr über die Autobahn (30 km – ca. 40’).

Itinerary for grottos and medieval villages
On this trip you will be able to discover areas off the beaten track around the
Ligurian Apennines, visiting the grotto of Toirano and appreciating a slice of
the medieval history the area has to offer.
Transfer by motorway to Toirano (70 km – around 50mins).
Visit the grotto of Toirano, splendid in its natural surroundings with evidence of its
prehistoric inhabitants.
Following that a trip to Finale Ligure (15km – around 20mins) where you can
visit the old medieval village of Finalborgo still surrounded by its original wall.
Shopping is also on the agenda.
Lunch in a typical restaurant that we have specially chosen for you.
On the road back a stop in Cervo (40km – around 30mins) to visit the old village
that, unique in Ponente, faces directly onto the sea. The church of San Giovanni
dominates the scene, one of the most important examples of baroque architecture
in Liguria. Perched on the rocks at the summit of the hill you will find the castle of
Clavesana which today hosts the ethnographic museum of Liguria Ponente.

alla bolla di cristallo e al galeone
utilizzato da Polanski per il film Pirati,
è d’obbligo una visita dell’Acquario di
Genova, il più grande d’Europa, dove
sono riprodotti gli ambienti dei sette
mari e dove i pesci si possono addirittura accarezzare!
Pranzo in una tipica osteria genovese per gustare alcune specialità liguri.
Nell’area del porto antico si possono anche visitare il Galata Museo del
Mare e lo splendido Palazzo del Principe, dimora del doge Andrea Doria
recentemente restaurata e riportata agli antichi splendori, con il giardino
all’italiana.
A seguire dal porto antico potrete risalire lungo la città vecchia, in lista
per entrare nell’elenco del patrimonio mondiale dell’Unesco, sino allo
splendido Palazzo Ducale. Un giro nei carruggi tanto cari a Fabrizio de
Andrè vi permetterà di scoprire gli aspetti più autentici della genovesità.

that, over the centuries was at the centre of commercial activity with the New
World. Also appreciate the rich and varied collection of sea life in the famous
Acquario.
Transfer by motorway (140km – around 1 hour 30mins) exit Genova Ovest.
Stop at the old port, which has been completely restored care of a project led
by the famous architect, Renzo Piano in association with Colombiadi in 1992.
Next to the crystal ball is the galleon used by Polanski in the recent film, ‘Pirates’
starring Johnny Depp. Don’t miss the chance to visit the aquarium (Acquario di
Genova), hailed as the biggest in Europe. Inside they have lovingly recreated the
environments of the seven seas and it is also possible to stroke some of the fish!
Lunch in a typical Genovese osteria to taste some Ligurian specialities.
In the old port district you can also visit the Galata Museo del Mare which hosts
an exibition of marine and sea navigation artefacts.
It’s also worth visiting the splendid and recently restored Palazzo del Principe,
residence of the Doge Andrea Doria. Inside you can see lovely antiques and a
typical Italian garden.
From the port, winding your way through the old town, you will see many
wonderfully restored buildings protected by the world organisation UNESCO,
including the splendid Palazzo Ducale. A carriage trip around the city is one of the
best ways to appreciate many of its wonderful sights.
