Here is one of Ben’s e-mails to Jake. Read the text and then do the tasks. To: [email protected] From: [email protected] Subject: London! Hi Jake, How are things? I’m fine. I went to London last week on a shopping trip. Mum took me along to carry her bags ! We started with the big department stores in Oxford Street. At Marks & Spencer’s we bought scarves, gloves and a coat. Then John Lewis (three pairs of designer jeans), Carphone Warehouse (no new mobile for me…) and Foyles (bargain books – very heavy !). We didn’t buy anything at Debenhams (good!). At last we took the tube back to our bed and breakfast in Bayswater and left the bags in our room. Then we crossed Hyde Park to go to Harrods. We walked past Kensington Palace, but there was no time for sightseeing! At the street corner outside Harrods (very expensive!), we helped a blind man with a guide dog across the road, and then he wanted to help us. He couldn’t show us how to get to Harvey Nichols (another boring shop! Birthday present for Dad…) on the map, of course, but he could take us there, he said. We said OK, and went with him. On the way, he told us that he lived in the East End and played the piano in different bars there every night. His name was Will Bolton. At every street corner, he knew exactly where we were. After so much shopping we went to the East End with Mr Bolton. In the artists’ district there, he knew which gallery we were near because of the smell of the paint! Of course Mum stopped to buy a painting… Will’s hobby is cooking, so he took us to Brick Lane Market, where he bought some vegetables. We bought some, too. Then we went up Brick Lane (Will knew by the smell of curry from the restaurants) and had a look at the Old Truman Brewery, where fish and chips was on the menu. Before we said goodbye to Will and his dog, he took us to a Jewish bagel shop where we ate a yummy sandwich. We were really very hungry after the long walk, but happy to see so many different parts of London. Are there so many different parts in Miami, too? See you, Ben Seite 2 von 4 Illustrierende Aufgaben zum LehrplanPLUS Gymnasium, Englisch, Jahrgangsstufe 5 (E1) bzw. 6 (E2) 1. Right or wrong? Tick like this .
