Shure PSM 1000 In-Ear Monitoring bei den GRAMMY® Awards 2013
Axient und UHF-R Funksysteme sorgen zusätzlich für reibungslose HF-Performance
Erlenbach, 21. Februar, 2013- - Bei der Verleihung der 55. GRAMMY Awards am 10. Februar
setzten erneut alle Künstler, die In-Ear Monitoring verwenden, auf Shure. Das PSM 1000
Personal Monitoring System kam unter anderem bei Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Carrie
Underwood, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake und Taylor Swift zum Einsatz.
„Ich nutze das Shure PSM 1000 generell für alle meine Shows, aber natürlich vor allem für so
hochkarätige Events wie die GRAMMY Awards.“, erklärt Michael Parker, einer der Monitor
Engineers für die Broadcast-Übertragung. „Wenn ich das (PSM) 1000er einsetze, bekomme ich
im Handumdrehen großartigen Sound und eine solide HF-Performance.“
Country-Popstar Taylor Swift eröffnete die Show und setzte dabei auf das Shure Axient
Funksystem mit einer Beta 58A Kapsel auf dem AXT200 Handsender.
„Es war das erste Mal, dass wir Axient bei den GRAMMYs dabei hatten und der Klang war einfach
überragend.“, so Cory Lorentz, Artist Relations Manager bei Shure Incorporated. „Das Staples
Center ist in Sachen Funk eine echte Herausforderung, wobei das ehrlich gesagt auf ganz L.A.
zutrifft. Da kapitulieren sogar Mobiltelefone. Da ist ein High-End System wie Axient mit seinem
Frequency Diversity Feature natürlich ein Riesenvorteil.“
Neben Axient vertrauten eine Reihe von Axient auf das Shure UHF-R Drahtlossystem mit einer
Kombination aus SM58, Beta 58A und KSM9 Handsendern, darunter Justin Timberlake
(UR2/SM58), Jay-Z (UR2/SM58), Maroon 5 (UR1/SM58) und Juanes (UR2/KSM9).
Shure Endorser Mumford & Sons waren die großen Gewinner des Abends. Sie konnten mit ihrem
Album „Babel“ den Award für das Album des Jahres für sich beanspruchen. Mumford & Sons
traten zweimal während der Veranstaltung auf. Bei „I will wait“ setzten sie auf drahtgebundene
Beta 58A Mikrofone, während sie bei der Performance zur Ehren von Levon Helms drahtlos mit
UR2 und Beta 58A auf der Bühne standen.
The Black Keys, ebenfalls langjährige Freunde von Shure, gewannen in drei Rock-Kategorien und
erhielten jeweils einen GRAMMY für den besten Rock-Song, das beste Rock-Album und die beste
Rock-Performance.
„Was für eine Nacht für The Black Keys.“, freut sich Lorentz. „Besser kann’s einfach nicht laufen.
Wir haben uns natürlich auch gefreut, dass Mumford & Sons ausgezeichnet wurden, nachdem sie
letztes Jahr leider leer ausgegangen waren. Aber selbstverständlich gratulieren wir allen
Gewinnern.“
