CareLink® Personal Installation Guide First steps to upload data to CareLink® Personal UC201201084EE Installation CareLink™ USB driver Which operating system do you use? Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 UC201201084EE Windows XP If your computer is running the Windows XP operating system, there is a setting needed in order to prepare your computer for uploading device data. You only need to change this setting for the first device upload with a CareLink™ USB Set security level to ‚Medium‘: Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security UC201201084EE Windows Vista / Windows 7 If your computer is running the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system, there are some additional steps to follow in order to prepare your computer for uploading device data. You only need to perform these steps for the first device upload with a CareLink™ USB Run internet browser as Administrator: Start > All Progams > Right click on Browser > Run as Administrator UC201201084EE Enrolling Enter www.carelink.minimed.com by clicking this link or write it into the web address field. (Not in the search field!) Before you can use the system to store data and create reports, you must enroll. During enrollment you will provide information about yourself through an enrollment form. Click the Sign Up Now button, and complete the following steps of enrollment. UC201201084EE CareLink™ USB Driver installation The first time you want to upload data the USB driver will be installed during the upload procedure. Click the Upload button, and follow the instructions on the window. When you are ready to go to the next step, click Next > to display the next window UC201201084EE Connect CareLink™ USB Connect the CareLink™ USB when it’s prompted. UC201201084EE Data upload After the successful installation you are able to upload the data. Click the Finish button to start the upload. WARNING: If a bolus or temp basal is being delivered, allow it to finish before uploading the pump. CAUTION: The pump will be in SUSPEND mode during an upload. Make sure the pump is taken out of SUSPEND mode when the upload is complete. UC201201084EE What to do if… • CareLink™ USB is not recognized • CareLink™ USB driver installation failed Try another USB port or reinstall the driver as below: 1. Disconnect the CareLink™ USB 2. Close the Internet browser 3. Delete the CareLink™ USB driver (according to your operation system choose below) 4. Repeat the previous steps to install the driver UC201201084EE Windows XP Delete the CareLink™ USB driver 1. Right click on Start > Explore 2. C:\Documents and Settings\ All Users 3. Tools > Folder Options UC201201084EE Windows XP Delete the CareLink™ USB driver 4. View > Show hidden files and folders 5. Double Click:Application Data 6. Right click on Medtronic folder and delete 7. Open Internet Explorer, Set Security Level to Medium: > Tools > Internet Options > Security. Enter the CareLink web address and follow the Upload steps. Organize > Folder and File Options UC201201084EE Windows Vista / Windows 7 Delete the CareLink™ USB driver 4. View > Scroll down > Show hidden files and folders 5. Double Click: ProgramData 6. Right click on Medtronic folder and delete 7. Open the internet page as an administrator, enter the CareLink web address and follow the Upload steps. UC201201084EE
