die ortschaft cuba ist sehenswert mit den schmucken „hexenhäuschen“
aus handgehauenem ozark-gestein (ozarks mountains ist eine hochlandregion in
den vereinigten staaten: südliche hälfte von missouri, grosser teil von arkansas
sowie teile von oklahoma nach kansas.
eventuell pause im eat 66 café, 66 pizza express oder route 66 café
zwischenstop in carthage (KA-SItch) am Historic Carthage square, dem
zentralen Platz, antiquitätenläden in historischen gebäuden aus den jahren

Seligman, Arizona is the beginning of the remaining 158 mile stretch of Old Route
66 that ends at Topock, Arizona. Rich in scenic and historic value, it is the longest
remaining intact section of Route 66. State designation Historic Route 66 is also
known as the “Mother Road” and “America’s Main Street.” To many it represents the
heart of American culture.
In 1987, the State of Arizona dedicated old U.S. Route 66 from Seligman to
Kingman as Historic Route 66, due to the efforts of the Seligman Chamber of
Commerce. The dedication will assure the preservation of the longest remaining
stretch of old Route 66 left in the United States. Seligman lies in the heart of cattle
ranch country.
The Seligman to Kingman route via Historic Route 66 is 89.1 Miles, with an average
drive time of about 2 hours. People are very friendly on Historic Route 66 and it is a
wonderful drive so slow down and smell the roses. While Route 66 may not mean
as much to younger people who never got to use it between Chicago and Los
Angeles, Route 66 is still the greatest road you’ll ever travel.

It’s the town where Arizona’s revival of Route 66 began. It’s the town that marks
the beginning of Arizona's Historic Route 66, the longest continuous stretch of
Route 66 still in existence. It’s the town where the past and the present exist in
harmony. It’s a main street community with eclectic charm. Seligman, Arizona is
a Route 66 town all the way. Some of the largest ranches in Arizona are located
around Seligman.

Grand Canyon Caverns
A Natural Wonder in the Making, the story of the Grand Canyon Caverns'
formation starts 345 million years ago, at the bottom of an ancient sea. This was
during the Mississippian Period of geologic time.Grand Canyon Caverns is a
natural limestone cavern 210 feet underground and the largest dry cavern in the
U.S.
You enter and leave the caverns by means of an elevator. They offer a 45
minute, 3/4 mile guided walking tours. Tours depart every half hour daily except

Boquillas Ranch
Boquillas Ranch can be reached by driving to mile post 123.5 on old highway
66 and going north at the main gate. The Navajo Nation, is the owners of this
750,000 acre ranch that is located about 60 miles east of Kingman and.is open
for use by all users.

Peach Springs
Peach Springs is the tribal headquarters for the Hualapai Indian Reservation.
The Hualapai Indian Reservation occupies 995,000 acres, a virtually roadless
land south of the Colorado River.
Many have heard of the water falls including Havasu Falls, Navajo Falls,
Mooney Falls, and Beaver Falls. The Supai Indian Village, also known as Supai,
has been home to the Havasupai Indians for many centuries. As time evolved
the village has grown with many homes sprouting and taking root in areas
where there used to be only farmlands. The village boasts a small café, lodge,
post office, school, church, clinic, police station, and a general store.

Truxton
The name of the town comes from the famous Beale Camel Expedition.
Lieutenant "Ned" Beale stopped at the spring here in 1857 and named it
Truxton in honor of either his brother Truxton or his mother, Emily Truxton
Beale. Encircled by colorful and scenic terrain, this small community's roots
stretch back to the Beale Wagon Trail.

A mine discovered in 1874 in Mojave County, started this town and in those
early years there was plenty of cowboys for fighting and faro. Unlike the many
places that became towns along the Oregon Trail, and the Santa Fe Trail of

of a kind.

Calico Ghost Town ist eine Geisterstadt in der Mojave-Wüste im Süden Kaliforniens (USA).
Von Los Angeles über die Interstate 15 kommend, folgt auf der linken Seite in den Bergen der
Schriftzug CALICO. Die Stadt wurde 1881 im Zuge des Silberbergbaus gegründet. Zu ihren
besten Zeiten lebten ungefähr 1.200 Menschen in Calico und es gab über 500 Minen.
Gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts fiel der Silberpreis in den Keller. Die Minen waren nicht
mehr ökonomisch und die Stadt wurde infolgedessen aufgegeben. Am 24. Juli 2001 brannte
ein Teil der Gebäude nachts nieder, wahrscheinlich nach einem Kurzschluss in einem der
Gebäude. Da schon im 19. Jahrhundert jedes 5. Gebäude als Feuerschutz aus Lehm gebaut
werden musste, konnte sich dieser Brand nicht verheerend auswirken.
Einige Gebäude aus der damaligen Zeit blieben erhalten und können heute gemeinsam mit
Nachbauten besichtigt werden. Auch ein Besuch von Minen oder das Erleben von „WildWest-Shows“ ist möglich. Außerdem ist ein Campingplatz unterhalb der Ghost Town
angelegt, dessen Benutzung auch zum Eintritt in das Museum berechtigt. Durch die
Restauration, die Nachbauten und die fast ausnahmslos darin untergebrachten Shops hat
Calico jedoch eher den Charakter eines Freiluftmuseums als einer originalen Siedlung.
