2006 gründete der Architekt Ben Wirth die Firma benwirth licht. Sein
Studio in München ist für ihn neben Werkstatt und Showroom auch
ein „Science Lab“, ein Raum zum experimentieren. Hier entwirft er
gemeinsam mit seinem Team exklusive Leuchten und Beleuchtungssysteme. Die meisten leuchten mit LED, manche mit LED und OLED.
Darüber hinaus ist die benwirth licht GmbH ein Planungsbüro, das für
Privatleute und Unternehmer, für Hotels, Restaurants, Banken und Shops
maßgeschneiderte Lichtkonzepte und Lichtinstallationen, manchmal
auch One-offs entwirft.
In 2006 the German architect Ben Wirth founded the company benwirth
licht. His Munich based studio is more than a studio and a workshop
- it is also his personal science lab, a room to experiment with light
and materials. In collaboration with his team, this is where Ben Wirth
designs exclusive lights and lighting systems. Most of them shine with
LED, others with LED and OLED. Moreover, the company benwirth licht
GmbH is a lighting design studio that develops individual lighting design
concepts, bespoke light installations andeven one-offs for private clients,
entrepreneurs, hotels, restaurants, banks and shops.

Mir gefällt, wenn das Licht in die Architektur integriert ist. Andererseits liebe ich die Kraft von schönen
Leuchten und Lichtinstallationen im Raum. In die
Architektur integriertes Licht lässt den Raum Raum
sein, die Leuchte hingegen benutzt den Raum als
Bühne.

On the other hand, I also love the power of beautiful
lights and light installations in a room. Light that is
integrated into the architecture allows the room to
just be, while the lights use the room as a stage.

Meine Leuchten sind stark von gestalterischen Prozessen
in der Architektur geprägt. Die Leuchtmittel LED und OLED
haben vollkommen neue Ansätze in Design möglich gemacht.
Ich dachte bei Entwürfen explizit darauf, dass Inhalte und
Form miteinander im Einklang sind. Was ist möglich, was ist
sinnvoll mit den neuen Technologien? Wohin geht es?
Lights are strongly influenced by creative processes
in architecture. The illuminants LED and OLED have opened
completely new way the design. In my designs I always pay
attention that content and form are in harmony with each
other. What is feasible? What makes sense when working
with the new technologies? In which direction are we going?

Die schmale und elegante Lichtlinie wird in den Raum gespannt und
schafft eine angenehme indirekte Beleuchtung, indem sie effektvolle
Lichtakzente auf Ecken und Flächen setzt. Dank innenliegender Spiralfedern lässt sich die Leuchte ohne Bohrungen und ohne Montage an die
gewünschte Stelle platzieren. Die Lichtquelle ist immer vom Betrachter
abgewandt. LightLine kann auf Anfrage nach individuellen Raummaßen
und in Sonderfarben angefertigt werden.
The thin and elegant light line is stretched from the floor to the ceiling resulting in comfortable and effective indirect lighting to corners and surfaces.
Using internal coil springs, LightLine can be positioned in its desired location without the need for drilling or mounting hardware. The light source is
always turned away from the observer. Production is available according
to room dimensions. Special colors on request.

Die Nachfolgerin der Tischleuchte 1st Aid heißt 1st Love. An die Stelle
der gold-silber bedampften Polyesterfolie der 1st Aid tritt ein Quadrat
aus zerknittertem Japanpapier, das geknüllt und nach rechts und links
verschoben werden darf. Ein gelasertes Blech, das vor einer der beiden
sich gegenüberliegenden LED Lichtquellen sitzt, verwandelt das Papier
in eine Projektionsfläche, auf die ein rotes „Lichtherz“ geworfen wird.
Das Herz wächst oder schrumpft, je nach Positionierung des Papiers.
Die Leuchte wird mit Hilfe einer Magnetkugel auf der Grundplatte geschaltet. Durch die Möglichkeit, die beiden Lichtquellen gemeinsam oder
einzeln zum Leuchten zu bringen und so das rote Herz auch gänzlich
verschwinden zu lassen, lässt sich die Lichtstimmung variieren.
The successor of 1st Aid is called 1st Love. The metal-coated gold and
silver polyester foil of the 1st Aid is replaced by a square sheet of white
Japanese paper which can be crumpled and shifted to the right and to
the left. A lasered aluminium sheet sitting in front of one of the two LED
light sources transforms the paper into a projection screen for a red „heart
of light“. The heart is either growing or shrinking according to the position
of the paper. The table lamp can be controlled with the help of a magnetic
ball on the base plate. It is possible to create different light moods by
controlling the two light sources together and separately, thus having the
option to make the red heart of light disappear.

Die Pendelleuchte LEDed B. ist die LED-Version der bereits 2009 entwickelten Halogenleuchte Incredible Bulb. LEDed B. ist minimalistischer
als ihre ältere Schwester, steht ihr in puncto Leuchtkraft in nichts nach
und spart zu dem noch Energie! Im Zentrum steht auch hier die „leere“
Birne ohne Glühfaden, auch hier wird beim Einschalten der Leuchte der
mundgeblasene Glaskolben magisch mit Licht gefüllt. Das Glas und die
raffinierte Fassung aus Messing wecken Assoziationen: LEDed B. mutet
an wie ein Stück aus vergangenen Zeiten, ausgestattet mit den neuesten
Leuchtmitteln der Gegenwart. Das Leuchtmittel bleibt unsichtbar, denn
die LED ist im oberen Ende des Glaskolbens versteckt. Der integrierte
verchromte Reflektor sorgt für Endblendung und richtet das Licht auf
den Tisch. Ein ausgeklügeltes Wärmemanagement garantiert eine lange
Lebensdauer der LED.

The pendant light LEDed B. is the new LED version of the halogen lamp
Incredible Bulb, designed in 2009. The LEDed B. is more minimalistic in design than its predecessor, offers the same luminosity and even saves energy. The LEDed B. is also an “empty” bulb without filaments that is magically filled with light when lit. With its hand-blown glass bulb and its refined
brass socket, at first glance the LEDed B. looks like an object of the past, yet
upon closer inspection you will see that it is equipped with one of the most
innovative illuminants of the present. The LED remains invisible since it is
hidden in the top end of the bulb. The integrated chrome- plated reflector
functions as glare control and also directs the light onto the table. Excellent
heat management ensures that the LED has a long lifetime.

Eines der neuen Leuchtmittel der Zukunft heißt Organic Light Emitting
Diode, kurz OLED.
benwirth licht hat aus dieser flachen runden Lichtkachel ein futuristisches,
68 Gramm leichtes Schmuckobjekt geschaffen, ein leuchtendes Amulett.
Dank eines kleinen Akkus hat MyOLED eine fortlaufende Leuchtdauer von
8 Stunden, bevor es erneut geladen werden muss. Diese außergewöhnliche
Kette besitzt zwei intelligente Eigenschaften: Sie kann mit Botschaften
bespielt werden, die beim ersten Ladevorgang auf dem Bildschirm des
Computers erscheinen. Dies können Werbebotschaften, persönliche Nachrichten oder auch Liebeserklärungen sein. Eine weitere Besonderheit:
MyOLED kann Farben erkennen. Rückseitig ist das OLED Panel mit kleinen
SMD-LEDs bestückt. Hält man sie an eine beliebige farbige Fläche, können
die LEDs ihre Lichtfarbe wie ein Chamäleon verändern und anpassen. Die
Kette, an der das OLED Amulett hängt, ist gleichzeitig das USB Ladekabel.
Es ist elegant mit der OLED verknüpft und ermöglicht eine einfache Höhenverstellung. Auch im ausgeschalteten Zustand ist die spiegelnde Oberfläche des MyOLED Panels ein echter Hingucker.

benwirth licht has transformed this thin and round light panel into a
futuristic piece of fashion jewelry, a shining amulet. Thanks to a little
battery, MyOLED shines for 8 hours before it has to be recharged. This
extraordinary necklace is characterized by two intelligent features:
messages can be recorded onto the amulet which then appear on the
computer screen when charging the jewelry for the first time. These can
be advertisements, personal messages or messages of love. Another
distinguishing feature: MyOLED can recognize colors. The backside is
fitted with small SMD-LEDs. Holding the reverse side closely to a colored
surface, the LEDs, much like a chameleon, can change and adapt
their color accordingly. The necklace holding the amulet also functions
as the USB cable to recharge the OLED. It is elegantly connected to the
amulet and its length can easily be adjusted. The mirrored surface of
My OLED is a real eye-catcher even when switched off.

Der LED-Einzelstrahler, Cluster Turnover, wurde aus dem modularen Lichtsystem Cluster heraus entwickelt.
Dieser filigrane Strahler (Maße: 12,5 x 12,5 cm, Dicke: 5 mm)
zeichnet sich durch seine enorme Beweglichkeit aus. Der
Leuchtkörper kann um die eigene Achse rotieren, die Grundplatte ist drehbar. Auf diese Weise kann jeder gewünschte
Punkt im Raum beleuchtet werden. Cluster Turnover ist als
Wandleuchte oder als Deckenstrahler einsetzbar, als klassisches Down- oder Uplight, mit Linsen in verschiedenen Öffnungswinkeln oder auch ohne, je nach Bedarf. Cluster Turnover
ist ein besonders energieeffizienter Strahler mit einer hervorragenden Lichtqualität, der es Lichtplanern ermöglicht, flexibel
auf die verschiedenen Anforderungen der Innenraumbeleuchtung zu reagieren. Cluster Turnover kann ergänzend zum
modularen Lichtsystem Cluster 2.0 eingesetzt werden.
Cluster Turnover ist erhältlich als Einbau- oder Aufputzvariante
und kann ergänzend zum modularen Lichtsystem Cluster 20
eingesetzt werden.

Cluster 2.0 ist ein modulares Beleuchtungssystem für LED und OLED, das für Projekte nach gewünschten
Anforderungen gefertigt wird. Es baut auf dem bereits 2010 vorgestellten Lichtsystem Cluster+ auf und
ist dessen technologisches Weiterentwicklung.
Cluster 2.0 kann nach dem Baukastenprinzip flexibel zusammengesetzt werden und besteht hauptsächlich aus den drei bis vier Komponenten Leiterplatten (Trägermaterial), Verbindern, dem LED-Modul und/
oder OLED-Modul. Das lichtstärkere Update, mit einer Lichtleistung von bis zu 1537 Lumen pro Modul (je
nach Lichtfarbe), wird mit folgenden neuen Features angeboten:
Tunable White: Auf Wunsch kann nun die Farbtemperatur der LEDs vom Nutzer eigens gesteuert und
somit die Lichtstimmung auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse abgestimmt werden.
Backlight Module: Neben LED- und OLED-Modulen können für großflächige Strukturen reine Backlight
Module eingesetzt werden, die das Licht ausschließlich an die Decke oder Wand schicken.
Steuerung einzelner Module: Einzelne Modul können auf Anfrage unabhängig voneinander gezielt
geschaltet und gedimmt werden.
Farben und Oberflächen: Auf Wunsch lassen wir Blendrahmen in verschiedenen RAL-Farben und Oberflächen anfertigen, um es dem Planer zu ermöglichen, gezielt auf die Wünsche und Bedingungen vor Ort
einzugehen.
Montage: Cluster-Einheiten, ob als Einzelmodul oder im Verbund, können mit Hilfe verschiedener Montagesets mit geringem Abstand unter der Decke montiert oder schwebend im Raum abgehängt werden.
Erweitert wird Cluster 2.0 durch den beweglichen Wand- oder Deckenstrahler Cluster Turnover.
Cluster 2.0 is a modular lighting system for LED and OLED which is produced by request for individual
projects. It builds upon the lighting system Cluster+, designed in 2010. In appearance Cluster 2.0 can be
assembled in various formations and is made up of three to four main components: the supporting material
(conductor boards), connectors, and the LED module and/or OLED module. With an increased light intensity
of up to 1537 lumens per module, by request the updated model is available with the following new features:
Tunable white: The color temperature can be individually controlled in order to create different lighting
moods.
Backlight modules: Apart from the LED and OLED modules, pure backlight modules are available for large
Cluster structures. These modules send their light only to the ceiling or to the wall.
Controlling modules individually: Dimming and controlling individual modules independently from each
other.
Colors and surfaces: Using cover frames in different RAL colors and surfaces, the lighting designer can
respond to the individual requests of the client.
Assembly: Single modules or whole units of Cluster 2.0 can be assembled either closely to the wall
or suspended in the room with the help of different assembly kits.
Cluster 2.0 can be enhanced with the rotatable LED spotlight Cluster Turnover for the wall or the ceiling.

By winding the transparent cable around the ceiling rose and fixing it, the height of the

Cluster 2.0 ist ein modulares Beleuchtungssystem für LED und OLED, das für Projekte nach gewünschten
Anforderungen gefertigt wird. Es baut auf dem bereits 2010 vorgestellten Lichtsystem Cluster+ auf und
ist dessen technologisches Weiterentwicklung.
Cluster 2.0 kann nach dem Baukastenprinzip flexibel zusammengesetzt werden und besteht hauptsächlich aus den drei bis vier Komponenten Leiterplatten (Trägermaterial), Verbindern, dem LED-Modul und/
oder OLED-Modul. Das lichtstärkere Update, mit einer Lichtleistung von bis zu 1537 Lumen pro Modul (je
nach Lichtfarbe), wird mit folgenden neuen Features angeboten:
Tunable White: Auf Wunsch kann nun die Farbtemperatur der LEDs vom Nutzer eigens gesteuert und
somit die Lichtstimmung auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse abgestimmt werden.
Backlight Module: Neben LED- und OLED-Modulen können für großflächige Strukturen reine Backlight
Module eingesetzt werden, die das Licht ausschließlich an die Decke oder Wand schicken.
Steuerung einzelner Module: Einzelne Modul können auf Anfrage unabhängig voneinander gezielt
geschaltet und gedimmt werden.
Farben und Oberflächen: Auf Wunsch lassen wir Blendrahmen in verschiedenen RAL-Farben und Oberflächen anfertigen, um es dem Planer zu ermöglichen, gezielt auf die Wünsche und Bedingungen vor Ort
einzugehen.
Montage: Cluster-Einheiten, ob als Einzelmodul oder im Verbund, können mit Hilfe verschiedener Montagesets mit geringem Abstand unter der Decke montiert oder schwebend im Raum abgehängt werden.
Erweitert wird Cluster 2.0 durch den beweglichen Wand- oder Deckenstrahler Cluster Turnover.
Cluster 2.0 is a modular lighting system for LED and OLED which is produced by request for individual

*Track und *Track Wall sind modulare LED-Lichtsysteme für Decke oder Wand. Das System besteht
aus zwei Ebenen, der Strom leitenden Trägerstruktur und der LED-Lichtquelle. Das Stromverteilungssystem ist eine 1,5 mm flache Struktur aus weiß-silbernem Platinenmaterial. Sie setzt
sich aus verschieden langen schlanken Verbindern und achteckigen Knotenpunkten (Oktogonen)
zusammen. Dank eines flexiblen Stecksystems kann die Struktur individuell gestaltet werden.
Die Montage an Decke oder Wand erfolgt schwimmend mit magnetischen Abstandshaltern oder
– bei hohen Decken – schwebend an feinen Seilen. Die Lichtquelle ist eine kleine zweigeteilte
Kugel (Ø 28 mm), bestehend aus einer LED (mit Licht bündelnder Linse und transluzenter Kunststoffabdeckung) und einem Kühlkörper in farblos eloxiertem Aluminium. Sie hat eine Lichtleistung von ca. 146 lm bei nur 2,16 W Stromverbrauch. Gehalten und mit Strom versorgt wird die
Kugel durch Litzen (Decke) oder Drahtbügel (Wand/Decke), die an den Oktogonen fixiert werden.

a delicate structure - slim connectors of different lengths and octagonal nodes (octagons) - made
of circuit board material (1,5 mm). Due to a flexible connector system, the structure can be individually arranged. The system is installed (on the ceiling or on the wall) with magnetic spacers,
or can be suspended from high ceilings on fine wires.The light source is a small globe (Ø 28 mm),
