In den letzten Kriegstagen ermordete die Dortmunder Gestapo mehr als 300 WiderstandskämpferInnen und ZwangsarbeiterInnen. Unter ihnen war der
BVB-Platzwart Heinrich Czerkus. Wir besuchen einige
Orte aus seinem Leben.

Following the footsteps of Heinrich Czerkus
During the last days of world war II the Gestapo
(Secret State Police) Dortmund killed more than 300
partisans and forced workers. One of them was the
BVB-green keeper Heinrich Czerkus. We will visit
some places out of his life.

Bis zum Ende der NS-Herrschaft war die Steinwache
eine der berüchtigtsten Folterstätten der Region
und erlangte als „Hölle Westdeutschlands” traurige
Berühmtheit. Von 1933 bis 1945 waren hier über
66.000 Menschen inhaftiert, etwa 30.000 von ihnen
aus „politischen Gründen”.
Dieses historische Fußballturnier wird anlässlich des
Workers Youth Festivals in einer ­internationa­len Spe­
zia­l­ausgabe im Fredenbaum ausgetragen und ver­spricht
ein Highlight für alle Fußballinteressierten zu werden.
Until the end of the NS-Regime Steinwache was feared
as one of the notorious areas for torture in the entire
region und reached sad fame as „The hell of western
Germany”. Between 1933 and 1945 they imprisoned
more than 66.00 men and women. About 30.00 of
these imprisonments were because of political reasons.
In celebration of the Workers Youth Festival this historical soccer tournament will take place in a special
international version in Fredenbaum.
