Mit seiner Videoinstallation „News, Weather & Sports“ gewann Dan Hudson 2011 den 1.
Publikumspreis der größten nordeuropäischen Kunstausstellung „NordArt“. Auch in diesem
Jahr wird der Kanadier im Kunstwerk Carlshütte vertreten sein. Außerdem bereitet er sich auf
Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen u.a. in Calgary, Barcelona, Valencia, Berlin und Leipzig vor.
Der Galerie Brennwald Kunst ist es gelungen, Arbeiten des vielbeschäftigten Künstlers ab
dem 9. März in Preetz zu zeigen. Mit der Vernissage (Beginn 18.00 Uhr) und der Ausstellung
in den großzügigen Räumen der Praxis Dr. Hajo Schulte (Markt 19) beginnt die Galerie ihre
Zusammenarbeit mit Dan Hudson.
Im Mittelpunkt der Schau steht die Serie „4 Elements“. Die schon allein durch ihre Größe
beeindruckenden Arbeiten basieren auf Ausschnitten seiner Landschaftsfotografien. Hudson
arrangiert die Strukturen so, dass jede eines der 4 Elemente (Feuer, Wasser, Erde und Luft)
repräsentiert und ein spannendes Zusammenspiel ensteht.
Galerie Brennwald Kunst
Die im Februar 2010 in Kiel gegründete Galerie Brennwald Kunst organisiert jährlich ca. 4
Ausstellungen in eigenen Räumen. Dazu kommen Austellungen in ausgewählten Büros, Praxen oder
Kanzleien. Die Galerie vertritt ihre Künstler auch auf internationalen Messen. Mit der Internetpräsenz
www.brennwald-kunst.de setzt die Galerie Maßstäbe in der Onlinepräsentation.
Dan Hudson
1959 in Kanada geboren, studierte Dan Hudson Visuelle Kunst an der York University (Toronto)
und Anthropologie an der University of California (San Diego). Er ist ein vielseitiger, nie auf eine
Gattung festgelegter Künstler, der in Malerei, Skulptur, Fotografie, Video- und multimedialen
Arbeiten seinen Ausdruck findet. Auf Hudsons erste Ausstellungen in Kanada folgten Stipendien und
Museumsankäufe sowie internationale Ausstellungen.
Parallel zu seiner Künstlerkarriere war Hudson als Fotojournalist tätig. Der Künstler reiste zu
den entlegendsten Orten der Erde und machte grandiose Aufnahmen schwer zugänglicher
Landschaften. Seine Fotos von Extremsportlern auf Snowboards, Skiern und Mountainbikes oder im
Wildwasserkajak wurden auf über 60 Titelseiten von internationalen Magazinen veröffentlicht.
Dan Hudson lebt und arbeitet zur Zeit in Berlin.
