Dear Colleagues
and Friends.
This current ITI World Symposium marks an exciting moment in
the history of the International Team for Implantology. With the World
Symposium in Munich, this unique organization celebrates its
25th anniversary.
It is the seventh World Symposium that the ITI has presented and the main topic will be: 25 years of ITI –
Changing the Paradigms in Implant Dentistry. Featuring more
than 100 clinicians and researchers from around the globe,
the ITI World Symposium offers a great opportunity to
share the latest knowledge about implant therapy and
current research. This event will be one of the highlights in
the field for the year 2005. Once again, the ITI sets the
standard for years to come by communicating the state of
the art in implant dentistry. Limited attendance lectures
with master clinicians, a clinical forum with concepts and
strategies for implant therapy, an ITI research competition,
treatment planning sessions and a session focusing on
esthetics in implant dentistry will round out the exciting
scientific program. One of the highlights will be the presentation of the basics and clinical applications of a novel
implant surface: the new modified SLA surface, called
SLActive. The current event will be the first ITI World
Symposium to be held in Germany. The International
Congress Center in Munich (ICM) offers excellent facilities
for such an outstanding meeting. It is easy to reach
and offers both state-of-the-art technology as well as a
hospitable atmosphere. Munich, one of the world’s great
cities, is a very popular German travel destination with
much to offer to its visitors.
We invite you to join us, to enjoy an outstanding implant
meeting and the special atmosphere of the Bavarian
capital: Come to the 25th anniversary meeting of the ITI –
the 2005 World Symposium in Munich.

Munich –
The Congress City.
www.muenchen.de
Cosmopolitan and proud, life under Munich’s skies holds
a promise for everyone. Trend merges with tradition
to create the magic Munich atmosphere which never
fails to delight. There are many factors that make Munich
an extremely popular city: Outstanding museums, world
famous theatres and orchestras, magnificent churches
and palaces, great shopping opportunities, lovely parks
and gardens, a clear green mountain stream, the river
Isar, that runs right through the city, high-calibre sports
events (Football World Cup 2006!), superb gastronomy,
fun festivals and a first rate tourist infrastructure. And of
course beer, BMW and the FC Bayern Football Club.
It doesn’t come as a surprise then that Munich is one of
Europe’s top destinations for international tourism with
around 70 million visitors a year. They all adore Munich’s
unique mix of high tech and tradition, “Gemütlichkeit”
and Style, beer gardens and trendy night spots. Exploring
the city’s highlights is made easy by the München
Welcome Card. It entitles the guest to use the public
transport and to visit ca. 100 tourist attractions at
reduced admission prices.
Visited all the museums? Done all the shopping?
Walked all the parks? Concluded all the business deals?
Then don’t miss out on Munich’s hinterland. The city
is nestling among delightful green foothills of the Alps
with their inviting lakes, picturesque villages, impressive
monasteries and churches and fairy tale palaces waiting
to enchant every visitor.

The International
Congress Center (ICM).
www.icm-muenchen.de
Munich, with its sound business environment, is one of
the world’s great cities. The Bavarian capital is not only
the home of more than 4.000 high-tech companies, but
also one of the most important media cities in Europe,
and it has one of the most modern trade fair centres
in the world.
Located in this cosmopolitan city with a special charm
of its own, the ICM is easy to reach and offers both stateof-the-art technology and professional services. This
combination ensures an atmosphere that makes every
event a unique experience. The ICM is directly linked
with the buildings of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
With seating for up to 7.000 people, approx. 8.000 sqm
of exhibition space and rooms for 20 to 3.000 people,
the ICM is designed for flexible use. It is one of the most
efficient centres of its kind. Modern architecture meets
all organisers’ and visitors’ requirements. With two lakes
and plenty of green open spaces, the grounds are ideal
for recreation and relaxation. When the weather is fine,
you have a magnificent view of the Alps.

Around 5600 European and 240 intercontinental flights a week make Munich
an attractive destination. Ninety airlines fly to the Bavarian capital. In the
next few years, air travel between Munich and North America, Asia, Eastern and
Southern Europe is expected to record particularly strong growth. Excellent
domestic air links to and from Munich guarantee perfectly coordinated
connecting flights to destinations worldwide.
At Munich Airport, the station for urban railway lines S1 and S8 is directly
below the Central Area. Trains in the direction of the city centre run at 10-minute
intervals. There are three routes from the airport to the ICM:
S8 / U5 / U2: S8 from the airport to Ostbahnhof. Change to underground U5
(in the direction of Neuperlach Süd) to Innsbrucker Ring (next station).
Change to U2 to the trade fair grounds – Messestadt West. Journey time: approx.
46 minutes.
Route S8 / U2: S8 from the airport to Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof ).

major car rental firms are represented at Munich Airport. The Car Rental Centre
with its own parking facilities is in front of module A, to the north of car park P6.

difficulties. The Congress organizers have booked large block reservations.
You will not be able to take advantage of the special congress room rate.
The room rate includes breakfast, service and taxes. The bill has to be paid
directly at the hotel prior to departure. Cancellations have to be communicated
