Roommates
• Roommate Assignments
• Assignments made in late July then emailed to students.
• If you requested a roommate – you must both request each other.
• Your Application Profile form is used to make the match.
• Roommate Conflicts
• Roommate agreements start the second week to prevent conflicts.
• If conflicts happen, CAs are available to support you.
• We ask that you try to work things out with your roommate
(you will still have to see each other, even if you switch rooms)
• If there are rooms available the Area Coordinator will help facilitate an official room
switch after the third week of classes.
Other FAQs
• Fish are the only pets welcome at the Waterfront Lofts.
• Cable TV service is available for installation in each unit. Residents are
responsible for installation and monthly charges.
• Students who are of legal age may possess alcohol in their loft/studio.

• There is no student parking at the Waterfront Lofts.
• The lofts are air conditioned.

Important Policies
• The Waterfront Lofts are non-smoking (including e-cigs)
• Students may smoke in designated smoking areas
• The Waterfront Lofts are “Dry” for all residents under the age of 21
• No alcohol or empty bottles/cans are permitted if under 21.
• No shot glasses or other paraphernalia if under 21.
• The Waterfront Lofts is a drug free complex
• No drugs.
• No pipes, no bongs, no hookahs, etc.
• Violations of the University Drug and Alcohol Policy can lead to eviction with no
refunds.
Waterfront Lofts Alcohol Policy
• Residents 21+ can possess and are responsible for their alcohol beverages
in their unit.
• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited in all public and common areas
• Students 21+ can consume alcohol in their loft/studio with the door closed
• Students, regardless of age, are prohibited from being under the influence of
alcohol or intoxicated on a lanai
• Equipment or supplies used in drinking games or to promote excessive
drinking (e.g., beer pong tables) are prohibited

• Set by your building community, but we start the year at:
• 11 pm – 8 am Sunday – Thursday
• 1 am – 8 am Friday & Saturday

• Finals Week Quiet Hours – 24 hour/day

• Guests are welcome during the day, but must be escorted.
• Overnight guests (over 18) are required to pre-register for safety and security.
Your roommate(s) must approve them.
• Overnight guests are permitted a maximum visit of six consecutive days per visit

Student Account
• Housing expenses will be added to student accounts during the
summer.
• Full payment is due with tuition each semester before classes start.
• Students pay the HPU Business Office, not Residence Life.
• Information about your bill is available on eBill, found on HPU
Pipeline.
• Pay online through your HPU Pipeline account using a credit card,
debit card or web check
• International students can also pay using the Peer Transfer System
Financial Aid
• Financial Aid will always cover tuition and fees first
• If there are ample funds remaining, then housing expenses can be
paid using financial aid.
• If a student has some financial aid to put towards their housing
expenses (but not quite enough), the student should consider a
payment plan through Tuition Management Systems
Tuition Management System (TMS)
• If you are unable to make a full payment, you are encouraged to utilize the
Tuition Management System (TMS) to set up a Monthly Payment Plan.
• TMS allows students to pay education expenses in smaller month payments.
• This service is available at a low cost of $42 per semester or $60 per year.
• When you choose to register with TMS, you will need to select your housing and
meal expenses, in addition to your tuition expenses.
