Parking in Groningen
ZERNIKE 200 Parking in the City? Plenty of space! Park your car at one of our eight P+R (‘park and ride’) sites. Travel on the comfortable Citybus from the P+R straight to the heart of the city and back again. Over 1.4 million people used this service in 2007. How the P+R Citybus system works: Groningen is an attractive city with a growing number of visitors. They include people who work in the city or come here to shop or to enjoy a day or an evening out. There is ample car parking for everybody conveniently located and reasonably priced. H As you approach the city, follow the signs to the nearest P+R Citybus site. HOOGKERK DRACHTEN EUROBORG / P3 750 Exit 39 Exit 35 A7 The Citybus travels in bus lanes for most of the journey, so it’s faster than using your own car. What’s more, Citybus stops are closer to the shops than the city centre car parks (marked ‘P’). HOOGEZAND/OLDENBURG Parking is free. A return trip on the Citybus for you and all your passengers costs just e 2,(max. 5 persons). Parking time is virtually unlimited. The P+R site in Zaanstraat is the only one that charges a parking fee. There are 12 car parks in a ring around the city centre. Together they have spaces for 4,500 vehicles. Follow the ‘P’ signs to the car park nearest to where you want to go. A7 A frequent Citybus service operates between the P+R site and the city centre on Sunday shopping days as well! (except P+R Peizerweg and Hoogkerk) Visiting somewhere in particular in the city centre? UMCG Spending a day in the city? Groningen has eight P+R sites with a total of 3,600 car parking spaces.
