Wenzel circular walk
Dieser kultur- und naturhistorische Rundweg durch Zeit
und Raum zeigt Ihnen 1000 Jahre Geschichte! Er durchquert
die berühmten Bockkasematten, verbindet die Ober- mit
der Unterstadt Luxemburg und bietet atemberaubenden
Panoramaaussichten auf die Befestigungsanlagen. Vom Europarat
wurde der Rundweg als exemplarisch eingestuft. Sie sehen dabei
den “Bock”-Felsen, die Altstadt Luxemburgs, die Wenzelsmauer,
das Alzette-Tal und die außergewöhnlichen Festungsanlagen.
Die Tickets und eine Beschreibung des Rundgangs sind beim
Luxembourg City Tourist Office erhältlich. (Vorteil der Luxembourg
Card: 30% Ermäßigung auf den Normalpreis.)

Casino luxembourg - forum of Contemporary art
Lebendiger Ort, in dem man sich im Rahmen zeitgenössischer Kunst
begegnen und in angenehmer und freundlicher Atmosphäre verweilen
kann. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es, neben der Bibliothek, in zwei Sälen ein
Kunstfilmprogramm rund um Künstlervideos und Interviews, sowie
kurze Reportagen zu den Ausstellungen des Casino. Das „Aquarium“
dient als kreatives Atelier für Workshops und das Café unterstreicht
die Idee des Forums und der Geselligkeit. Im ersten Stock werden
ausschließlich Ausstellungen zeitgenössischer Kunst präsentiert.

contemporary art with a warm, friendly environment. The ground floor,
next to the existing library, has projection rooms dedicated to artists’
videos and video reports on exhibitions presented at the Casino; an
area dedicated to learning activities and creative workshops; and a
café which strengthens the venue’s identity, highlighting its conviviality.
The first floor is exclusively for temporary Casino exhibitions.

Das Museum ist in vier historischen Häusern
untergebracht. Die ständige Ausstellung auf drei Etagen
veranschaulicht die über tausendjährige Geschichte der
Hauptstadt des Großherzogtums. Über ein interaktives
System ergründet der Besucher eine Reihe Modelle, die
die Stadtentwicklung darstellen. Große vorübergehende
Ausstellungen finden regelmäßig auf den anderen drei
Ebenen des Museums statt.
The museum is located in four historical houses. The
permanent exhibition over three floors illustrates the
history of the country, stretching back for more than one
thousand years. An interactive system allows a series of
scenes showing the development of the city to be explored.
Major temporary exhibitions are regularly hosted on the
three other levels of the museum.

Das ländliche Museum in einem alten Bauernhof inmitten des
Dorfes Binsfeld hat 1988 eröffnet. Der 300-jährige Hof mit seinen
Nebengebäuden beherbergt eine aufsehenerregende Ausstellung
von Alltagsobjekten aus den zwei vorherigen Jahrhunderten. Diese
Ausstellung zeigt das tägliche Leben der Einwohner, Bauern und
Handwerker der Ardennendörfer. Das Museum ermöglicht allen
Interessierten zurück in die Zeit unserer Vorfahren einzutauchen. Die
neue Präsentation benutzt die Didaktik der Medien um die Besucher
auf eine angenehme Art durch den Film der Ardenner Geschichte zu
führen.
The rural Museum in an old farmhouse in the centre of the village
Binsfeld opened in 1988. The 300 year old farmhouse with its
neighboring buildings houses a remarkable exhibition of everyday
objects from the preceding two centuries. This exhibition shows the
daily life of the inhabitants, farmers and craftsmen. The museum
enables the interested visitor to plunge back into the times of our
ancestors. The new presentation uses the didactics oft he media to
gently guide the visitor through the film of the history of the Ardennes.

The Family of Man is a legendary photo exhibition,
registered as a UNESCO Memory of the World.
The collection is composed of 503 photos by 273 artists

National Conservatory of Historic Vehicles
Die Oldtimer-Ausstellung ist in der alten Wagenfabrik
von Jean Wagner untergebracht, dem einzigen
historischen Ort im Großherzogtum Luxemburg, der mit
dem Automobilbau verbunden ist. Ausgestellt werden
Fahrzeuge aus luxemburgischen und ausländischen
Sammlungen, die für die verschiedenen Bauperioden von
den Anfängen des Automobilbaus bis in die 1960er-Jahre
charakteristisch sind. Umfangreiches Konferenz- und
Veranstaltungsprogramm.
The National Conservatory of Historic Vehicles is located
in the former Jean Wagner car factory, the only place
in the Grand Duchy dedicated to the development of
the automobile. Vehicles from Luxembourg and foreign
collections are on display, typical of the various periods of
construction, from the very first cars to those of the Sixties.

Das Hauptthema ist die Ardennenschlacht. Die Schlacht
in der Umgebung von Diekirch wird durch Dioramas
im Maßstab 1:1 rekonstruiert, wobei persönliche
Schicksale von Zivilisten und Soldaten dargestellt werden.
Umfangreiche Ausstellung von Militärmaterial, Archivfotos
usw. Das Museum zeigt auch die Geschichte der
Luxemburger Widerstandskämpfern 1940-1945 sowie die
Geschichte der Luxemburger Armee.

The main subject is the Battle of the Bulge. Reconstruction
of the battle around Diekirch with slides on a 1:1 scale,
reflecting the personal stories of civilians and soldiers.

Schloss von Vianden
Vianden castle
Das Grafenschloss von Vianden wurde zwischen dem 11. und
dem 14. Jahrhundert am Standort eines römischen Kastells
und eines karolingischen Refugiums erbaut. Dieser restaurierte
Schlosspalast ist einer der schönsten feudalen Residenzen der
romanischen und der gotischen Epoche in Europa.
Die Luxembourg Card ist nicht gültig während dem

The castle of the counts of Vianden was build between the
11th and the 14th century on the remains of a Roman Fort
and a Carolingian refuge. Now restored, this castle and
palace is one of the largest and finest feudal seats of the
Romanesque and Gothic periods in Europe.

Bedeutende Sammlung von Feuersteinen und Jagdwaffen.
Das wichtigste Ausstellungsstück ist die Kopie des
Skelettes des Loschbour -mann. Das Original befindet sich
im Natinalmuseum für Naturgeschichte.

Middle-Ages, and describes the evolution of Man from the
Paleolithic period to the first farmers.

Die Römische Villa von Echternach ist eines der wichtigsten
Gebäude aus der römischen Zeit nördlich der Alpen.
Dieses luxuriöse Haus bot ihren Einwohnern seinerzeit ein
beeindruckendes Niveau an Komfort. Im angrenzenden Museum
wird das tägliche Leben in der römischen Villa anhand von
nachgestellten Szenen mit lebensgroßen Figuren dargestellt. Ein
Film der die römische Kultur vorstellt, sowie ein nachgebauter
römischer Garten (mehr als 70 Pflanzen) vervollständigen die
Arbeit der Dokumentation.
The Roman Villa of Echternach is one of the most important
domains of the Roman times North of the Alps. This luxurious
home offererd its inhabitants a remarkable level of comfort for
those times. In the museum installed close to the archeological site
the daily life inside the villa is illustrated by scenes with life-size
figures. A film presenting the Roman culture as well as a rebuilt
Roman garden (more than 70 plants) complete the documentation
work.

Domaines Vinsmoselle is now the largest producer of
wines and Crémants in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Domaines Vinsmoselle evolved from the conglomeration of
six cooperative wineries along the length of the Luxembourg
Moselle, whose products are distributed in Luxembourg and
abroad.
The Wellenstein wine cellar was founded in 1930. It is
Domaines Vinsmoselle‘s largest site and the largest facility
in Luxembourg.

The Bitter Years 1935-1941 ist die letzte Ausstellung
die Edward Steichen in seiner Funktion als Direktor der
Abteilung Fotographie im Museum of Modern Art in New
York (MoMA) 1962 realisiert hat. Sie ist eine Hommage an die
Dokumentarphotographie, mit über 200 Bildern aus einem der
grössten kollektiven Projektes der Geschichte der Fotographie:
die Dokumentation des ländlichen Amerikas während der
großen Depression durch die Farm Security Administration
(FSA). Die Ausstellung ist temporär geschlossen wegen

The Bitter Years 1935-1941 is the last exhibition of Edward
Steichen as Director of the Photography Department at the
Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) which has been
realized in 1962. It honours the documentary photography,
with more than 200 pictures from one of the biggest collective
project in history of photography: the documentation of rural
America during the great Depression by the Farm Security
Administration (FSA). The exhibition is temporarily closed for

Das Schwimmbad ist nach dem Konzept eines Freizeitund Erholungsbereichs angeordnet, es ist behaglich
und einladend. Das Schwimmbad verfügt über ein
großes Schwimmbecken mit einem Sprungturm, einem
Lernbecken mit einem Whirlpoolbereich. Ein Kinderbecken
und Wasserspiele sowie eine 40 m lange Rutsche lassen
die Herzen der Jüngsten höher schlagen. Außerdem ist
das Außenbecken mit Massagebank das ganze Jahr über
geöffnet. Luxembourg Card nur gültig für das Schwimmbad.
The swimming pool is designed on the concept of a leisure
and relaxation area, convivial and welcoming. The pool
has a large swimming pool equipped with a diving board, a
learners’ pool with a whirlpool area, a pool for children and
water games, as well as a 40 m toboggan, which will delight
young swimmers. Finally, there is the outdoor pool and its
massage table, open all year round. The Luxembourg Card
is only valid for the entrance to the swimmingpool.

The National Resistance Museum in Esch/Alzette traces
back the reactions of the people in Luxembourg during Nazi
occupation, the life in concentration camps and the fate of
the Jews from Luxembourg. The museum also organises
temporary exhibitions.

Die Hochöfen von Belval, eingebettet in die „Stadt der
Wissenschaft“, sind ein touristisches und kulturelles Highlight.
Der Hochofen A ist bis auf eine Höhe von 40 m frei zugänglich
(180 Stufen). Von dort aus können Sie eine atemberaubende
Aussicht auf die neuen Viertel von Belval und die gesamte
Umgebung geniessen. Eine Ausstellung im „massenoire“Gebäude stellt die „Stadt der Wissenschaft“ vor, ein
einzigartiges Projekt des Luxemburger Staates, und behandelt
die Geschichte der Eisenindustrie sowie die Entwicklung der
Südregion.
The Belval blast furnaces are a key cultural and tourist
attraction. As part of the « City of Science » they have been
renovated in an innovative way.
Blast furnace A is accessible to the public up to a height of 40
m (180 steps) where you have a breathtaking view of the new
quarters of Belval and its surroundings.
An exhibition in the Massenoire building presents the « City of
Science », a major urban project of the Luxembourg State, and
recalls the history of the steel industry and the development of
the southern region .
