Auf Korsika liegt der Aéroport Calvi - Sainte Catherine wunderschön
eingebettet in einem Tal südöstlich der Stadt Calvi. Deshalb wird der
Platz hauptsächlich von Norden bzw. vom Meer her angeflogen.
Wirklich Spaß machen aber Landeanflüge ähnlich wie am ehemaligen
Flughafen Kai Tak, bei denen das Flugzeug aus Richtung Norden
westlich am Flughafen vorbeifliegt, vor dem Berg Capu Porcarellu eine
180°-Wende im Gebirgstal durchführt und man schließlich von Süden
her anfliegt.
Der Platz mit der ICAO-Kennung LFKC wird von Air France, der
deutsche TUIfly, Air Berlin, Germanwings und vielen anderen Airlines
angeflogen.
Die 2310m lange Bahn wird übrigens mehr als 2500 Mal im Jahr
angeflogen und von vielen Privatpiloten als Ausflugsziel genutzt.
Der Flughafen ist mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nicht zu erreichen.
Er verfügt über Taxistandplätze und Mietwagenstationen.
Die Organisation des Flugplatzes Calvi wird von „Chambre de
Commerce et d‘Industrie de Bastia“ verwaltet, welche am Flugplatz
Bastia ansässig ist. Hier stand uns Pierre-François NOVELLA als
Engineer Manager zusammen mit Jacques LANDO tatkräftig zur Seite.
Ohne ihre Hilfe wäre unsere Arbeit bei der Platzerstellung nicht
möglich gewesen.

Installation
Nach dem Kauf des Produktes erhalten Sie einen Link zum Download
des Archivs mit den Szenerie-Dateien. Sie können diesen Link auch
über Ihren Shop-Account aufrufen.
Entpacken Sie die Szenerie-Dateien in Ihr X-Plane Hauptverzeichnis. Sie
müssen sie nicht in den Ordner „Custom Scenery“ kopieren, da dieser
Ordner im Archiv bereits enthalten ist.
Nach dem nächsten X-Plane Start sollte die „scenery_packs.ini“ähnlich
der folgenden Zeilen aussehen.

Besonderheiten dieser Szenerie
• Realistische Umsetzung des Flughafens Calvi St. Catherine,
basierend auf selbst aufgenommenem Bildmaterial
• Fotoreale Gebäudetexturen
• Großflächiges Luftbild mit einer Auflösung von 0,5m/Pixel im
näheren Bereich um das Flughafengelände, 0,25m/Pixel im
Bereich des Flughafens selbst, sorgfältig nachgearbeitet und an
die Standardszenerie angepasst
Grafikeinstellungen X-Plane
Wir empfehlen, zu Testzwecken mit niedrigen Einstellungen in den
XP10 Redering Options zu beginnen und diese dann schrittweise zu
erhöhen. In unseren Testumgebungen (Mac und PC) haben wir mit
den folgenden, relativ hohen Einstellungen sehr gute Ergebnisse erzielen können.
• Überarbeitetes Terrain, Landebahn folgt dem Gelände
• Realistische Wiedergabe der Bodenmarkierungen – auch der
charakteristischen alten, übermalten Markierungen
• Animierter Marshaller (zusätzliches Plugin „Autogate“ erforderlich)

System requirements
The Aéroport Calvi – Sainte Catherine (CLY / LFKC) on the island of
Corsica is beautifully embedded in a valley to the south-east of the
town of Calvi. Therefore, pilots usually approach the field from the
north or from the sea, respectively.
• X-Plane 10.40 / X-Plane Steam Version
What’s particular fun, though, is an approach similar to the one at the
former Kai Tak Airport: coming from the north and flying past the airport to its west, then turning by 180° just before the mountain Capu
Porcarellu and finally approaching the airport from the south.
• 1,5 GB free memory on your harddisk
The airfield with ICAO code LFKC is a target for Air France, the German TUIfly, Air Berlin, Germanwings and many other airlines.
The 2310m long runway is used over 2500 times a year while it is a
popular destination among private pilots.
No public transport connects to the airport. Instead, it features taxi
stands and car rental stations.

Installation
After purchasing the scenery you will receive a link to the archive
containing the scenery files. You can also find that link in your order
history.
Management of Calvi Airport is organised by the “Chambre de
Commerce et d’Industrie de Bastia”, located at the Bastia Airport.
Here, Engineer Manager Pierre-François NOVELLA and Jacques LANDO
offered us their tremendous support. Without their help, we could not
have worked on creating this airfield.
Unpack the scenery files into your X-Plane root folder. You don’t need
to copy it into the “Custom Scenery” folder as this folder is already
included in the archive.

We advise you to set your rendering options to low or medium settings first. If you experience good framerates you can increase the settings for a better graphical experience. From testing we can conclude
that the following settings have given us a reasonable framerate and a
very good visual experience on PCs and Macs.
