Stelvio National Park
The Stelvio National Park is the largest protected area in the alpine
region, and it completely surrounds the Ortles-Cevedale Massif. The
Trentino part of the park extends across the Peio valley and the Rabbi
valley in which the local architecture of small villages that are nestled on
the mountainsides are a witness of the rural roots of this area. There
is a wide variety of trees, flowers and minerals. The Park also protects
various species of animals: deer, chamois, hares, and marmots, but
also ermines, eagles, black grouses, francolins, snow-grouses and the
legendary predator of the Alps, the lammergeyer. There are infinite
possibilities for excursions in the Park. To fully appreciate the Park and
its natural beauty, the Park’s guides provide guided tours. There are
15 thematic excursions, all on well-marked trails, that offer spectacular
views to further appreciate the park’s unique characteristics. The “Area
Faunistica di Peio” (Peio Wildlife Park) is the perfect opportunity to

DER STILFSERJOCH-NATIONALPARK
Ist flächenmässig das grösste Naturschutzgebiet im Alpenraum und
erstreckt sich vollständig um das Ortler-Cevedale Massiv. Der zum
Trentino gehörige Teil breitet sich über die Täler Pejo und Rabbi aus;
hier finden sich die Wurzeln der bäuerlichen Landbevölkerung, erkennbar an der Architektur kleiner, an Berghänge geschmiegte Dörfer. Die unberührte, geschützte Natur ist reich an Baumarten, Blumen,
Mineralien und Tiere, wie Hirsche, Gämsen, Hasen, Murmeltiere,
Hermeline, Steinadler und dem Geier, gefürchteter Jäger der Lüfte
im Alpenraum. Im Innern des Parks hat man unendliche Möglichkeiten
an Wanderungen. Die Begleitung der Parkführer dient als Hilfe, um
den Park besser kennen zu lernen. Im Tierpark von Pejo, der auch für
Behinderte zugänglich ist, kann man aus nächster Nähe Hirsche und
Rehe beobachten.

protected area in the province of Trento, and
is generally recognized as being the only alpine
area in which the Brown Bear still exists. The park
is rich in flora and wildlife, while the legendary
stone towers of the Dolomites are a unique attraction. The Adamello- Brenta Natural Park can
also be visited with expert Guides: each week,
during the entire summer, various naturalistic excursions are organized in order to discover the
most stunning valleys of the Dolomites.

A Tasteful Vacation
Solandrian cuisine centers on simple typical mountain dishes based
on dairy products that still have the aroma of hay, fresh grass and the
fragrance of pristine mountain air. Game is often prepared with forest
berries and beneficial aromatic herbs in order to create tasty dishes.
Among the most tasty products is Casolét, a traditional cheese of the
valley. It is a fresh alpine cheese made with whole milk, a true rarity,
now a listed Slow Food product. A must to try are “strangolapreti”
(priest chokers), gnocchi di comede (wild mountain spinach dumplings), capelazzi or monchi (delicious pasta dishes), potato pancakes
and many different kinds of soup. And as for desserts, there is the
“torta de fregoloti” (similar to crumble-topping cake), carrot cake and
the all-time favorite: strudel.
GESCHMACKVOLLER URLAUB
Die solandrische Küche ist eine einfache Küche, aber reich an geheimen
Rezepten aus Grossmutters Zeiten. Gerichte aus einer Berglandschaft,
in der die Milch und ihre Produkte, der Duft des Heus, des frischen
Grases und der sauberen Bergluft wichtigste Grundlagen sind.Allerhand Wildgerichte gehören dazu, oft gepaart mit Waldfrüchten und gesunden Kräutern. Unter den leckersten Produkten gehört der Casolet,
ein einheimischer Bergkäse aus dem Val di Sole, der aus einem zarten
rohen Teig und Vollmilch hergestellt wird. Unbedingt kosten sollte
man die “Priesterwürger” (strangolapreti), Kräuterklösschen (gnocchi di
comede), Teigwaren (capelazzi, monchi), den Reibekuchen (torta di
patate) und die Suppen. An süssem Nachtisch empfiehlt sich ein fester
Streuselkuchen (torta di fregoloti), der Karottenkuchen (torta di carote)
und der klassische Apfelstrudel.

Winter, a valley of sun
Winter in Val di Sole, that is, skiing on the Folgarida-Marilleva slopes, connected to Madonna di Campiglio while always keeping your skis on; Tonale, skiing all year-round with the guarantee of always finding snow; and Peio, in the Stelvio National Park. Four locations, with 135 km of perfectly
snow-covered slopes and 56 ski lifts.The Val di Sole in winter is the domain of snow covered nature, that now has conveniently become much closer
thanks to the Trento-Malé railway, that from the Trento (Trient) train station, brings skiers directly to Marilleva 900. After a long day of skiing, pleasant
moments await you in the valley’s historic and traditional towns. The various lodging facilities offer traditional hospitality, adding true quality to your
vacation. Ski schools, snowboarding, dog sledding, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and alpine skiing, all within the enchanting Stelvio National Park
and the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, will complete your winter vacation in Val di Sole. There are also weekly excursions organized by the Alpine
Guides in the Stelvio National Park, with the use of snowshoes, that are either one day or half day excursions in addition to afternoon excursions and
evening excursions underneath the moonlight. There is also the possibility to try cross-country skiing in one of the fully-equipped centres that offer
free lessons. There is a total of 70 km of excellent tracked runs that wind their way through magical landscapes in Rabbi, Commezzadura, Mezzana,
Ossana, Vermiglio, Tonale and Cogolo. Some of these runs are illuminated to ensure night-time skiing pleasure. The Alpine Guides also offer alpine
skiing lessons, the possibility to climb on frozen waterfalls and free rider skiing. The Nevebus (free of charge) connects the various ski resorts.

A skiing paradise
The Val di Sole is an ideal place to ski! Using a single ski pass
and thanks to the convenient ski bus connections it is possible
to ski in a new location everyday and to tackle new and diverse
ski slopes.
Folgarida-Marilleva
Two winter sports centers that offer all types of skiing, with a
wide selection of lodgings that are often located right on the
slopes. Folgarida and Marilleva have 24 modern ski lifts and
30 ski slopes with various difficulty levels, for a total of 50 kilometers of slopes. The slopes are illuminated for evening skiing
and they are a real paradise for those that enjoy alpine skiing
and snowboarding. Madonna di Campiglio is also connected
to these areas without ever having to take your skis off, creating a
large-scale ski region that features a total of 120 km of slopes with
a breath-taking view of the majestic Brenta Dolomites.
Tonale
Year- round skiing. A slogan that clearly defines this location
that lies between the Trentino and Lombardy region, where the
ski season continues on natural snow even in the summer at an
altitude of 3,000 metres on the Presena Glacier. 30 modern
ski lift facilities and approximately 100 km of slopes. The “Paradiso” slope is one of the longest and most beautiful slopes in all
of the Alps.
Peio
This ski centre is in the middle of the Stelvio National Park.
Amongst the summits of the Cevedale Group, lies the municipality of Peio which is the highest municipality in all of Trentino
that offers both skiing and its thermal springs that date back to
1650. Peio is particularly suited for family vacations, with long ski
slopes that are immersed in a relaxing and unique environment.

Opening date: June 20th – September 20th + other periods upon request for alpine skiing. Since it is located at the bottom
of the Presanella Glacier moraine (the highest in Trentino) one can begin to climb from the normal route or from the north
face. There is a picturesque lake only 5 mins away. It can be reached after 1.5 hours of easy walking on a mountain path
after following the dirt road which can be done by car (a permit is not required). This hut was completely renovated in 2001
while maintaining the classical characteristics of an alpine hut with a cozy dining area (seating for 75 people). There are 56
beds in rooms for 4-26 people. There are 6 bathrooms and a shower. This family-run hut offers excellent cuisine for lunch
and dinner. Bar service. Electricity is guaranteed by a hydroelectric plant.

Komplett renovierte Struktur im Jahre 2001, im typisch alpinem Stil, mit gemütlichem Speisesaal (75 Sitzmöglichkeiten).
