You have the Right
to a
violence-free Life
The Violence Protection Act
Basically:
The offender leaves, the victim stays.
When a member of the family abuses other family
members, the police can issue a Restrainment
Order to the abuser who cannot enter the home
again for a certain period.
How can the abuser be prevented from
returning to the home?
The abuser has to hand over their keys to the police.
If necessary, the Restrainment Order can be
extended to the abuser not being allowed to come
near to the living environments of the victim, e.g.
The work place, school or Kindergarten.
The Violence Protection Act
If the abuser does not comply with the
Restrainment ...
Supplementary protection and readjustment
from acts of violence is provided by the Violence
Protection Act.
... the police or law enforcement authority should
be informed immediately. They will then take
further measures for the protection of the victim.
The Family Judicial Court enacts temporary
provisional application orders:
Please inform the police immediately!
