liebe Aktive und Gäste!
Ich freue mich, Sie im GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER zu begrüßen.
Dieses besondere Reitsportzentrum im Süden Kärntens habe ich für meine Frau Kathrin
errichtet und ihr im Jahr 2010 die Verantwortung für die internationale Positionierung
des GHPC Austria und Netherlands übergeben.
Auch in diesem Jahr eröffnen wir die internationale Hallensaison in Österreich mit
einem CSI3*-Turnier. Meine Gattin und Geschäftsführerin Kathrin Glock hat auch diesmal
wieder alles darangesetzt, allerbeste Rahmenbedingungen für die Aktiven, ihre Pferde
und auch für alle Zuschauer zu schaffen.
Freuen Sie sich auf ein glanzvolles Turnierwochenende mit sportlichen
Höchstleistungen der weltbesten Springreiter und ihrer Pferde. Allen Reitern viel

Dear Equestrian Sports Fans,
Competitors and Spectators,
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE
CENTER. I built this special equestrian centre in the south of Carinthia for my wife Kathrin
and in 2010 handed over to her the responsibility for the international positioning of
the GHPC Austria and Netherlands.
TThis year, once again, we will be opening the international indoor season in Austria with
a CSI3* tournament. My wife and managing director, Kathrin Glock, has once again done
everything to create the very best conditions for the participants, their horses and also
for all the spectators.
You can look forward to a superb event with top performances from the world’s best
show jumpers and their horses. I wish all the competitors every success and the visitors
an unforgettable weekend at the GHPC.

Geschätzte Turnierteilnehmer!
Als Landeshauptmann und Sportreferent
von Kärnten freut es mich sehr, auch dieses Jahr mit einer tollen Veranstaltung im
GHPC zu beginnen. Das Springturnier ist
bereits zu einem Fixpunkt im Reitsport geworden. Dieses besondere Event von Gaston & Kathrin Glock wird auch dieses Jahr
große Aufmerksamkeit auf sich ziehen. Der
Name Glock und das GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER stehen für hochklassige internationale Turniere. Ich möchte allen Verantwortlichen herzlich danken und
wünsche allen Zuschauern schöne Erlebnisse.
Für mich als Bürgermeister der Marktgemeinde Treffen am Ossiacher See ist es
eine besondere Freude, alle Reitsportfans
in unserer schönen Region zu begrüßen.
Im internationalen Turnierkalender ist das
Springturnier im GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER im Jänner schon zu einem Fixtermin für viele ausgezeichnete
Reiter sowie internationale Stars geworden. Ein großes Dankeschön möchte ich
an Familie Gaston & Kathrin Glock für die
Organisation dieser hochkarätigen Veranstaltung und ihr Engagement im Reitsport

As the governor and sports representative
of Carinthia, I am delighted to once again
begin the year with a great event at the
GHPC. The show jumping tournament has
already become a benchmark in equestrian
sport. This special event hosted by Gaston
and Kathrin Glock will attract a lot of attention again this year. The name Glock and
the Glock Horse Performance Center stand
for high-class, international tournaments.
I would like to cordially thank all those responsible and wish all spectators a wonderful time.
For me as the mayor of the market town
of Treffen on Lake Ossiacher See, it is a
special pleasure to welcome all equestrian sports fans to our beautiful region. In
the international tournament calendar the
show jumping tournament at the Glock
Horse Performance Center in January has
already become an unmissable event for
many excellent riders and international
stars. I would like to offer a big thank-you to

1. Februar erneut Schauplatz für eines der
atemberaubendsten Springturniere weltweit. In der modernsten Reitanlage werden wieder viele international erfolgreiche
Reiter begrüßt und den Pferdeliebhabern
ein einzigartiges Programm mit viel Abwechslung und Spannung geboten. Als
Sportdirektor des Österreichischen Pferdesportverbandes wünsche ich allen Aktiven
sowie dem Organisationsteam viel Erfolg
bei der Veranstaltung und den Zusehern
ein spannendes Reitsportwochenende!

jumping tournaments in the world. At the
state-of-the-art equestrian centre, we welcome the many internationally successful
riders and offer equestrian sports lovers
a unique programme with plenty of variety
and excitement. As sports director of the
Austrian Equestrian Sports Association,
OEPS, I would like to wish all participants
and the organising team every success
and an exciting equestrian sports weekend
for the spectators.
I am very pleased to again be taking part
in one of the best tournaments in the world
as a member of the GLOCK team this year.
The conditions at the Glock Horse Performance Center are simply perfect. Here,
riders and horses alike feel happy and welcome! As in previous years, there will once
again be exciting competitions, great show
acts and a variety-packed programme. My

Pferd und Reiter überwinden gemeinsam einen Parcours in
einer erlaubten Zeit. So viel zur Theorie. Und jetzt zur Praxis ...
Welche Hindernisse gibt’s?
Hochsprünge (z. B. Steilsprünge), Hochweitsprünge (z. B.
Oxer) und Weitsprünge (z. B. Wassergraben). Wobei diese
Hindernisse einzeln, unmittelbar aufeinanderfolgend („Folge“)
oder als Kombinationen zweier oder mehrerer Hindernisse
(z. B. „dreifache Kombination“) aufgebaut werden.
Welche Springprüfungen gibt es?
Die zwei wichtigsten Arten von Springprüfungen sind die
Standardspringprüfung und die Springprüfung mit Stechen.
Bei der Standardspringprüfung gilt es, in der kürzesten Zeit
mit so wenig Fehlern wie möglich (am besten also mit null
Fehlern!) den Parcours zu überwinden. Für Abwürfe, für
Verweigerungen (Pferd stoppt vor dem Hindernis) und Zeitfehler (wenn die festgelegte Zeit überschritten wird) werden
Fehlerpunkte vergeben. Bei Punktegleichheit entscheidet die
schnellere Zeit! Bei der Springprüfung mit Stechen verhält
es sich ähnlich: Alle Fehlerpunkte werden aufaddiert. Gibt
es mehrere Reiter, die fehlerfrei geblieben sind oder die die
geringste Fehlerpunkteanzahl erritten haben, dann gibt es
für diese Reiter ein Stechen. Im Stechen gewinnt, wer in der
schnellsten Zeit die wenigsten Fehler macht bzw. fehlerfrei
bleibt.
Wie werden die Fehlerpunkte gezählt?
Für jeden Abwurf sowie für die erste Verweigerung gibt es
4 Fehlerpunkte. Bei Zeitüberschreitung wird pro 4 Sekunden
je 1 Fehlerpunkt vergeben. Stoppt das Pferd noch einmal vor
einem Hindernis, scheidet das Paar aus. Ebenso verhält es sich,
wenn der Reiter stürzt, ein falsches Hindernis überwunden
wird, ein Hindernis aus der falschen Richtung gesprungen
wird oder wenn der Reiter vor dem Glockenzeichen startet.

What you should know
The horse and rider together have to jump over a
course of obstacles in an allotted time. That is the
theory. And now for the adrenaline...
What types of jumps are there?
Obstacles include verticals (e.g. with poles), spreads
(e.g. oxers) and open water (e.g. a wide ditch). These
obstacles may be single, jumps in a row or combinations of two or more fences (e.g. triple combination).
What jumping competitions are there?
The two most important kinds of show jumping
events are standard jumping and jump-off competitions. In standard competitions, the aim is to finish
the set course in the shortest time with as few faults
as possible (a clear round at best). Penalties are
incurred for knockdowns, refusals (the horse stops
before a fence or runs out) and time faults (when the
allotted time is exceeded). In the event of a tie, the
fastest time wins. Jump-offs are similar in that all the
penalty points or faults are added together. If several
riders score clear rounds or tie for the fewest faults,
there is a jump-off. The winner is the rider who has
no or the lowest number of faults in the fastest time.
How is show jumping scored?
There are jumping and time penalties: four faults for the
first refusal or knockdown and one penalty point for
every four seconds over the time allowed. If the horse
stops again before a fence, the pair is eliminated. Riders are also disqualified from the competition if they
fall off, attempt the wrong obstacle, approach an
obstacle from the wrong direction or start before the
bell.

Austrian Children’s Villages
Gaston Glock, an internationally successful industrial magnate, and Kathrin Glock,
member of the supervisory board and managing director of the GLOCK HORSE
PERFORMANCE CENTER & Netherlands, make the perfect team. They have been
a couple for more than 10 years and happily married for three years. For years, they
have put many charitable projects together.

The association “Österreichische Kinderdörfer” (Austrian Children’s Villages) have
been working for 50 years for the care and integration of orphans and children
deprived of parental care. In a safe atmosphere, the youngsters are helped
towards a positive and happy future. Ambassador of the Children’s Villages,
Honorary Vizeconsul Ms Birgit Sarata, supports this institution with her heart and
soul. Through her tireless commitment, numerous essential projects have been
