Bei Ankunft in Wien Westbahnhof:
Im Bahnhofsgebäude gehen Sie zur U-Bahnlinie U6, nehmen einen der Züge in
Richtung „Simmering“ und steigen bei der Station „Volkstheater“ aus. Dann nehmen
Sie die U-Bahnlinie U2 Richtung „Aspernstrasse“ bis „Messe Prater“.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel in Wien:
Fahrscheine für Straßenbahn, U-Bahn und Bus kaufen Sie am besten bei den Fahrkartenautomaten in Bahnhöfen und U-Bahn-Stationen, Einzelfahrscheine können Sie
auch im Fahrzeug lösen.

Anreise mit dem Flugzeug:
Sie können vom Flughafen Wien Schwechat den City Airport Train (ca. 11 Euro) oder
eine der Schnellbahnen (ca. 4,20 Euro) nach Wien nehmen. Taxis stehen
selbstverständlich ebenfalls zu Ihrer Verfügung (ca. 30 Euro, Fixpreise bei den TaxiSchaltern im Flughafengebäude, sonst bis zu 50 Euro bei den Taxis vor dem
Flughafen).
In beiden Fällen fahren Sie am besten bis zur Station „Wien Mitte“, steigen dort in
die U-Bahnlinie U4 in Richtung „Heiligenstadt“ um und fahren bis zur Station
„Schottenring“. Dann nehmen Sie die U-Bahnlinie U2 Richtung „Aspernstrasse“ bis
„Messe Prater“.
Fußweg von U2 Station Messe-Prater (10 Minuten):
Von U-Bahn Station „Messe Prater“ (Punkt A) Richtung „Sebastian Kneippgasse“ ca.
50 Meter geradeaus gehen. Dann bei “Messestrasse“ abbiegen und dieser Straße ca.
350 Meter folgen bis „Welthandelsplatz“-WU Campus (Punkt B).
Anreise mit dem Auto:
Die Tiefgarage befindet sich unterhalb des Hauptweges des Campus. Die
Garagenzufahrt ist in der “Trabrennstraße”. Es gibt insgesamt 411 Stellplätze, davon
sind ca. 180 Plätze kurzfristig verfügbar. Von der Garage führen 4 Zugänge auf den
Campus. Die Ausgänge der Garage liegen im Freiraum - somit kann jedes Gebäude
über seinen Haupteingang im Erdgeschoß betreten werden.

Falls Sie das erste Mal in Wien sind …
Für einen erstmaligen Besuch Wiens sollten Sie mindestens zwei freie Tage einplanen.
Bei gutem Wetter ist ein Spaziergang entlang der Ringstrasse (Gründerzeitbauten), im
ersten Bezirk (Fussgängerzone) sowie ein Besuch eines typischen Wiener
Kaffeehauses (z.B. der Demel am Kohlmarkt) besonders attraktiv. Bei schlechtem
Wetter bieten die Wiener Museen dabei vor allem das Kunsthistorische Museum,
Leopoldmuseum und die Albertina eine reizvolle Alternative.

Please use public transport whenever possible. Tickets valid for all tram, metro and
bus lines can be bought at the vending machines in train and subway stations; single
fare tickets, can also be bought in the vehicle.

Directions from Wien Westbahnhof:
In the train station, please follow the brown signs to subway line U6. Take the
subway in direction "Simmering" and get off at the stop "Volkstheater”. Then follow
the purple signs to change to subway line U2, direction "Aspernstrasse". Leave the
train at the stop"Messe Prater" and follow the instructions “Walk from U2 station
Messe-Prater” below.

Arriving by plane:
There are several option for going into town from Vienna Schwechat airport. The City
Airport Train (about 11 euros) or the regional trains (about 4.20 euros) are the
cheapest and generally most convenient options for getting to Vienna. In both cases,
exit at the station "Wien Mitte", then change to underground line U4 (green signs) in
direction "Heiligenstadt" and get off at the stop "Schottenring". Then follow the
purple signs to change to subway line U2, direction "Aspernstrasse". Leave the train
at the stop "Messe Prater" and follow the instructions “Walk from U2 station MessePrater” below.
A standard taxi fare to the city center will cost you about 30 – 50 euros. The taxi
counters inside the airport building offer favourable fixed fare prices.
Walk from U2 station Messe-Prater (10 minutes):
From subway station "Messe Prater" (point A) head east on “Ausstellungsstraße”
toward “Sebastian-Kneipp-Gasse”. Turn right onto “Messestraße”. After approximately
350m, turn left onto “Welthandelplatz” -WU Campus (point B).
Arriving by car:
The parking garage is located beneath the main walk across the campus. The garage
entrance is at "Trabrennstraße". There are a total of 411 parking spaces, of which 180
are available to visitors. All exits lead to the central campus square from which all
buildings can be accessed.

If this is your first visit to Vienna ...
For a first-time visit to Vienna, you should allow at least two days. In good weather,
you can take a walk along the Ringstrasse with its splendid turn-of-the-century
buildings, in the first district (pedestrian zone) stop at one of the famous Viennese
coffee houses (e.g. Demel on the Kohlmarkt). In bad weather, the Viennese museums
(Kunsthistorisches Museum, Leopold Museum and the Albertina) are an attractive
option for sampling the rich cultural offerings of the city.
