Once again, The Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold team have created their dream festival:
a weekend away in France’s beautiful Ardèche region where indie music enthusiasts,
artists, festival workers and volunteers can soak up the final rays of summer sunshine,
side by side, united in their discovery of new music, experiences and friendship. With
no VIP spaces, the festival itself is the VIP space, with the audience made up of festival
goers and artists alike.
Now into it’s second year, this intimate weekend festival has become known for it’s
visionary programming, introducing festival goers to an eclectic range of bands, artists
and DJs, of all indie genres and subgenres, with one thing in common: an incredible
live show that the Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold team can’t wait to share with you.
But what is truly unique about the festival is it’s incredible location. The 3 day/2 night
festival takes place in a private French holiday park that accommodates over 1,000
people in fully equipped bungalows. Everything for your music weekend get-away is
available and included on-site, from the outdoor stages, nite-club, bars and late night
karaoke to the swimming pools, pool-side DJs, sports fields, restaurants, Pop Up Market and activities for all ages. All with your bungalow just steps away.

discover the city of ruoms !
The holiday park is located in Ruoms, an old medieval village
10 minutes north of Vallon Pont d’Arc, hidden amongst Ardèche’s valleys and natural reserves. First founded in the late
tenth century, the city still hosts ramparts, towers and Romanesque church architecture dating back to the fourteenth century.
Once upon a time Ruoms was best known for it’s limestone,
which was mined for use in monuments and structures – most
notably the base of the Statue of Liberty in New York. It was
also known for it’s breweries, however since it’s last brewery
closed in 1967, these days it is known for it’s wine.
Located in close proximity of four rivers (Ardèche, Baume,
Line and Chassezac), Ruoms is a hotspot for swimming, fishing
and canoeing. It also hosts the starting point of various hiking
trails through the gorgeous valleys and mountains of the region.

outdoor stage
The outdoor stage is a 2000 capacity micro-amphitheater designed
so that no matter where you stand you are ensured a great view.
club
Just steps from the outdoor stage, the 250 capacity indoor club
will be open midnight until dawn.
pools
Featuring interconnected pools, terraces, waterfalls, waterslides,
the pool is a central meeting point of the festival. Poolside
concerts and DJ sets take place during the day on Saturday and
Sunday afternoon.
bungalows
The 250 on-site bungalows surround the holiday park in such a way
that all are within steps of the festival. Ranging in size to accommodate 4, 6 or 8 people, each bungalow contains two or three bedrooms, a sitting area (including a sofa in the 6 and 8 person bungalows), kitchenette, an outdoor terrace and a bathroom with a shower
and toilet. Your home away from home with a barbecue nearby.

If you prefer not to cook for yourself in your fully equipped bungalow kitchenette, the selection of on-site dining options include
regional specialties prepared with preference to local and organic
produce.

In addition to the pool, the festival site hosts a football field,
tennis court, volleyball, badminton, basketball courts, table tennis, and petanque. Don’t forget to pack your balls, rackets, beer
pong kits etc.

Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold welcomes families of all ages
to enjoy the weekend. Activities for children 6 years and up
include creative art and music workshops.

Adult activities include exhibitions, creative workshops and
there are more surprises in store. Paris record store Les Balades
Sonores will host a booth at the festival with records, merch,
and other goodies available. As in 2013, part of the site will be
occupied by a Pop Up Market featuring designer and vintage
clothes and crafts.

a sustainable approach
A major goal of the Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold team is to limit the
festival’s impact on the environment. The festival’s dedication to sustainability during the 2013 edition (download 2013 specifications) was
recognized with an award from the British organization A Greener Festival, who classified the event with a very encouraging 2 stars out of 4. A
promising start!

For the 2014 edition, Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold Festival aims to raise the festival’s sustainability
classification as awarded by A Greener Festival to 3 out of 4 stars.
The festival is in search of partners and sponsors to enable Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold to make
decisions based on sustainability, and achieve their ambitious goal of further improved sustainability.
Festival organizers are currently assessing and enhancing areas in which their sustainability endeavors were successful during last year’s edition, while finding new solutions to those elements
that were less effective.
Ways in which Heart Of Glass Heart Of Gold are working towards increasing sustainability during
the 2014 edition include:
- Assessing opportunities to use eco-friendly materials, such as when serving food, so as to reduce
non-recyclable waste and increase recyclable waste
- Increasing percentage of organic and agriculture transparent food and products, and developing
menus based on minimal water and carbon footprint.
- Encouraging festival goers to use public or shared transport.
- Making every effort to offer products made in France (t-shirts, tote bags) or from responsible
sources.
- Reducing electricity consumption by using energy efficient stage equipment
- Using equipment capable of measuring power consumption of the festival - an objective that
unfortunately could not be reached during the 2013 festival due to incompatible metering equipment.
- Doubling the festival’s annual donations to the environmental protection or enhancement of biodiversity cause in the Ardèche region. This year the festival’s donation will support the society for
protection of the Bonneli eagle.

You can use the SNCF website to book a train to Ruoms (if coming from the south) or Valencia Ruomas (if coming from the north). Alternatively, the TER shuttle offers a service
form Montélimar to Ruoms (if coming from the south). The festival is about 15 minutes
walk from the train and shuttle terminus and will be clearly signposted

signposted upon arrival. Please note according to festival policy, if you choose to park on
festival grounds you must leave your car parked during the entire duration of the festival.

Your bungalow accommodation is effectively your all-inclusive pass to the Heart Of Glass
Heart Of Gold festival and site, including concerts, after hours club, pool and festival activities.
Bungalows can be booked on the festival website.
If you wish to book a bungalow with friends (4, 6 or 8 people), rates differ according to size,
with the most economic price being an 8 person bungalow (107.50 Euros per person).
If you wish to attend the festival alone or in a group smaller than 4, you can book your accommodation in a «Bungalove». Road tested to great success in 2013, the “Bungalove” is an
8-person bungalow of strangers, united by their impeccable taste in music!
A limited amount of tickets (without accommodation) are available for Ruoms residents only
from select local vendors.
