Our Vision
The Reel Canadian Film Festival aims to celebrate the very best of modern Canadian Film.
Respecting our national identity and cultural heritage through the diversity of filmmaking, we will
welcome and celebrate all aspects of the industry, from writers and directors to locations and
acting and production talent.
Our Goal
Our volunteer-run committee’s goal is to build on the 6-year strength of past festivals and bring an
even better event to Fernie for our 7th Annual production. We will offer multiple screenings, shorts
programming and special receptions with special guests and a gala atmosphere.
Sponsorship Opportunities
With assistance from the Toronto International Film Festival, The City of Fernie, Columbia Basin Trust,
The Arts Station and Vogue Theatre plus local businesses, sponsors and donors, the festival adds
diversity to the annual cultural offerings in the Elk Valley. This festival will continue to grow into a
tourist destination event that further augments an already active tourist industry.

This year, we are once again presenting the festival on the third weekend in January: a perfect
time for both locals and tourists to enjoy films in the comfort of the Vogue at the coldest and

Promotional posters are being distributed throughout the Elk Valley and in select

available at the Vogue and Arts Station and our full program will be available online
