Das SAM® Einartikulier- Instrument
The SAM® cast mounting instrument
Das Einartikulierinstrument wurde konzipiert, um beim
Einartikulieren stufenloses, hoch präzises Öffnen und Schließen
um eine Rotationsachse ohne Abweichungen zu gewähr­leisten. Denn beim Einartikulieren ist die Verwendung
eines Artikulators nicht zwingend notwendig.
Zumal um Gipsreste und -spritzer auf dem Artikulator,
insbesondere im Kondylar­gehäuse zu vermeiden,
empfehlen wir unbedingt die Verwendung eines
Einartikulier­instrumentes. Damit bleibt Ihr Artikulator
gipsfrei und frei für andere Arbeiten.
The cast mounting instrument was designed to assure a
high-precision opening and closing around a rotation axis
without errors during the cast mounting. This precision
instrument eliminates the need to use an articulator for cast
mounting, avoids very common articulator condylar housing
damage caused by gypsum, and allows articulator to be
free for other work.

1.Die Oberkiefer Modellmontage
The Upper jaw model mounting
Ober- bzw. Unterkiefer eines Menschen stehen nicht nur in einer bestimmten Position zueinander,
sie haben auch eine definierte Position innerhalb des Schädels. Diese dreidimensionale Position sollte in das Montageinstrument oder in einen Artikulator übertragen
werden, um die Patientensituation möglichst genau zu simulieren. Die OK-Position
gelingt besonders einfach und schnell, aber auch präzise mit dem Anatomischen
Transfer-/ Gesichts-/ Übertragungsbogen AXIOQUICK®.
Dieser SAM® Transferbogen orientiert sich bei seiner Positionierung an drei
knöchernen Referenzpunkten (Porion, Nasion, Porion) und bildet damit eine
reproduzierbare Referenz­ebene.
The maxilla and mandible are related to the cranium and
also to each other. This three-dimensional position
should be transferred to the mounting instrument
or to the articulator to simulate the patient. This
can be done very accurately with the AXIOQUICK®
Anatomic Esthetic related transfer bow.
This SAM® esthetic anatomic facebow orients itself on
its positioning to three bony reference points (Porion,
Nasion, Porion) and thereby forms a reproducible
reference plane.
1.01Zur Vorbereitung entnehmen Sie den Inzisalstift
aus dem Einartikuliergerät...
Prior to cast upper cast mounting, remove the
incisal pin.

1.03Wenn Sie nicht das AXIOSPLIT®-System, sondern
zum Beispiel die Magnet-Montageplatten MPS von
SAM® verwenden, sollten Sie anstatt der Montageplatte den Magnetsockels ATB 338 (oder ATB
339 für Schraubmontageplatten) verwenden.
To obtain a larger area for placement of the
transfer fork support, we recommend the use of
the magnetic block ATB 338 (or ATB 339 for screw
type plates).

1.05Schieben Sie den Bissgabelträger und die Bissgabel
auf das Schwalbenschwanzgeschiebe des Transferstandes und ziehen die Fixierschaube fest.
Push the transfer fork assembly and the transfer
fork on the dovetail attachment of the transfer
stand and tighten the fixing screw.
1.06Achten Sie darauf, dass der Bissgabelträger bis zum
Anschlag eingeschoben und fixiert wird.
Make sure that the transfer fork assembly is pushed in until it stops and fixed.
1.07Damit die Bissgabel dem Druck von Modell und
Gips auch im weiteren Verlauf der Montage nicht
nachgibt, empfehlen wir zur Unterstützung die
teleskopierbare Bissagbelstütze ATB 336.
We recommend using the telescopic transfer fork
support ATB 336 to hold and stabilize the face
bow transfer fork assembly firmly in position
during the attachment of the upper cast..
1.08Die Scheiben der Bissgabelstütze sind hilfreich, um
eine höher stehende Bissgabel abzustützen. Durch
waagrechte Verschiebung können die Scheiben an
die Bissgabel angepasst werden. Sollte auf Grund
der Kieferstellung des Patienten der Oberkiefer sehr
weit unten im Schädel und damit das OK-Modell
auch weit unten im Montage­instrument sitzen,
müssen die Scheiben eventuell entfernt werden;
diese lassen sich leicht abziehen und wieder
aufschieben. Die Bissgabel soll möglichst mittig
unterstützt werden.
The disks of the transfer fork support is helpful, in
order to support a higher-standing transfer fork. By
horizontal displacement the disks can be adjusted
to the transfer fork. If on the basis of the patient‘s
jaw position the maxillary is very low down in the

skull, and the upper cast is also low in the cast mounting instrument, the disks must be eventually removed;
these can be easily removed and and later reattached.

1.09Die abgesenkte Bissgabelstütze wird vorsichtig unter die Bissgabel geschoben.
Die Bissgabel soll möglichst mittig unterstützt werden - die Fixierschraube zeigt nach hinten.

1.10Um die Position der Bissgabel keinesfalls zu beeinflußen, wird das Montagegerät umgedreht. Wenn die fixierschraube gelockert wird, senkt sich die Bissgabelstütze drucklos auf die Bissgabel ab.
Invert the instrument and with the screw loosened, the telescopic support can be easily (without pressure)
positioned onto the under surface of the fork. Once seated, without pressure, the thumb screw is tightened you

1.12Nach dem Wiederumkehren des Instrumentes unterstützt ATB 336 die Bissgabel, ohne deren Position zu verändern. Die Bissgabel soll möglichst mittig unterstützt werden.
After reversing the instrument, the ATB 336 supports the transfer fork without changing its position. The transfer fork should be supported in the middle.
1.13Zur Unterstützung des Oberteils im aufgeklapp­ten
Zustand wird der Abstützstift (ART 525) auf die
Rändelschraube des Inzisaltisches gesteckt.
To support the upper part in an open position,
the vertical support rod (ART 525) is placed on the
thumbscrew of the incisal table.

1.15Das Oberkiefermodell wird in die Impressionen der
Bissgabelbeschichtung eingesetzt. Dabei darf das
Modell nicht wackeln. Ansonsten müssen Modell
oder die Beschichtung auf Fehler überprüft werden.
The upper model is positioned in the impressions
of the transfer fork. The upper cast should seat
without movement in order to prevent errors.
1.16Es empfiehlt sich vor dem Anmischen des Gipses
den Abstand zwischen gelber Montageplatte und
dem Modell zu begutachten, da sich nach ihm die
Menge des benötigten Gipses richtet.
Examine space between upper cast and mounting
plate to determine correct amount of mounting
gypsum to be used.
1.17Rühren Sie Montagegips nach Herstellerangabe
cremig an.
Mix the mounting plaster creamy according to
manufacturer‘s instructions.
1.18Um zu verhindern, dass Feuchtigkeit schneller als
nötig in das Gipsmodell einzieht, wird der Gips
zuerst auf die Montageplatte wolkig aufgetragen.
Always place a small amount of mounting gypsum
onto the upper mount plate while it is still moist
and also flows very easily to assure a good attachment to the plate.

1.19Verfahren sie genauso mit dem Oberkiefermodell.
Modelle mit Gipssockel sollten an der Oberfläche
leicht angefeuchtet werden, damit sich der frische
Gips besser mit dem Modell verbindet.
Again, the mounting gypsum should be moist and
flow easily into position on the cast.
1.20Wenn der frisch aufgetragende Gips seinen Glanz
verliert, wird das Gerät geschlossen. Gipsüberschüsse sind zu vermeiden, da beim Verstreichen
des Gipses das Modell verschoben werden könnte.
When gypsum on upper member does not easily
flow, close the upper member and remove any
excess gypsum that may flow sideways.
1.21Der Gips sollte möglichst vollständig aushärten.
Allow gypsum to set completely.
1.22Das Montagegerät wird geöffnet und der Transferstand und die Bissgabel entfernt.
Loosen the thumb screw that holds the transfer
fork assembly in place, open the upper member
of the instrument, and then remove the transfer
stand.

2. Die Unterkiefer Modellmontage
The Lower jaw model mounting
Für die Montage des Unterkiefermodelles sollte ein Zentrikregistrat verwendet werden, um die Unterkieferposition
dem Oberkiefer exakt zuzuordnen.
For mounting of the lower jaw model may be used a centric registration to position the lower jaw position accurately
to the upper jaw.
2.01Zunächst wird die Stärke des zentrischen Registrates mit einem Taster ermittelt. Die dickste Stelle
befindet sich meist im Prämolarenbereich.
In diesem Beispiel wird der Wert
2 mm gemessen.
Measure the centric record using a caliper. The thickest part is usually located in the premolar region.
In this example, the value
2 mm is measured.
2.02Die Höhe am Inzisalstift wird auf den doppelten
Wert der gemessenen Dicke des Registrates im Prämolarenbereich eingestellt, um die Höhendifferenz
nach Entnahme des Registrates auszugleichen.

height after removal of the registration.

2.04Nach der UK-Modellmontage wird das Registrat
entfernt. Der Stift sollte dann wieder Null anzeigen.
F ollowing the lower jaw model mounting the
registration is removed. The pin should then
indicate zero.
2.05Zur Erleichterung der Unter­kie­fer­montage
empfehlen wir den roten Montagestand MOH 560.
To facilitate the lower jaw model mounting we
recommend the red mounting stand MOH 560.
2.06Im Falle der Unterkiefermontage wird der Inzisaltisch vom Oberteil mit dem Inzisalstift im Unterteil
des Montagegerätes sicherheitshalber ausgetauscht.
In case of mounting the lower jaw, the incisal table
from the top of is exchanged with the incisal pin in
lower part of the cast mounting instruement.
2.07Damit wird vermieden, dass im ungünstigen Fall
beim Schließen des Montagegerätes der Inzisalstift
mit dem Gips kollidiert. Nach der Montage kann
der Austausch schnell rückgängig gemacht werden.
This prevents that in an unfavorable case while
closing mounting instrument the incisal pin collides
with the gypsum. After the mounting the exchange
can quickly be reversed.

2.10Das bereits montierte Oberkiefer­modell ist auf Grund
seiner Kieferstellung (Frankfurter Horizontale) nach
unten geneigt. Der Montage­stand gleicht dies aus, so
dass das Oberkiefermodell mindestens horizontal zur
Tischebene steht. Somit steht der Unterkiefer stabiler
und es fließt kein Gips vom Modell.
The mounted upper jaw model is tipped downwards
due its jaw position (Frankfurt Horizontal). The cast
mounting instrument compensates for this, so that
the upper cast is at least horizontale to the table
plane. Thereby, the lower cast is stable and there is
no flow from the gypsum model.
2.11Der Modellhalter wird an der rechten Seite aufgesteckt und mit der Rändel-Schraube am
unteren Ende fixiert.

fixed with the knurled screw on the lower end.

2.12Das Zentrikregistrat wird auf das Unterkiefermodell gesetzt.

2.13Das Unterkiefermodell mit dem Zentrikregistrat
wird auf das Oberkiefermodell gestellt.
The mandibular model is placed in the centric
registration on the upper model.
2.14Der rote Elastikstab wird durch den
Schieber des Modellhalters geschoben.
Die Stabspitze wird mittig über das Model
gedreht. Beim Absenken verkantet der
Schieber und hält das Modell in Position. Der
Druckpunkt soll dabei nur in der Mitte liegen.
The red elastic plastic rod is pushed through the slide
of the model holder. The rod tip is rotated centered
on the model. Lowering the metal slide containing the
red plastic rod, allows for proper positioning of the
rod in the central area of the lower cast with sufficient
pressure to hold the cast in position.
2.15Das Montagegerät wird zur Probe geschlossen.
Dabei werden wieder auf Grund des Abstandes
zwischen gelber Montageplatte und Modell
Rückschlüsse auf die Menge des benötigten
Gipses gezogen.

2.16Rühren Sie Montagegips nach Herstellerangabe
cremig an.
Der Gips wird auf die Montage­platte wolkig aufgetragen.
Mix mounting gypsum creamy according to
manufacturer‘s instructions.

2.17Verfahren sie genauso mit dem Gipsmodell. Dieses
sollte an der Oberfläche leicht angefeuchtet werden, damit sich der frische Gips besser mit dem
Modell verbindet.
Gypsum and dental cast should be moist to assure
proper and firm attachment.
2.18Das Montagegerät wird geschlossen, anschließend
muss der Gips aushärten.
The mounting instrument is closed and the gypsum
is allowed to set.

2.19Nach dem Aushärten wird der Modell­halter gelöst
und vom Montagestand entfernt.
After the gypsum has set the cast holder is removed from the instrument.
2.20Der rote Elastikstab kann entweder mit einer Zange
abgeschnitten oder vorsichtig mit dem Handstück
abgetrennt werden.
The red elastic rod can be cut off with a pair of
side cutters or a dental burr.
2.21Das Einartikuliergerät wird aus
dem Montagestand gehoben.
The instrument is removed from the
mounting stand.
2.22Entfernen Sie das Zentrikregistrat.
