Nachrichten aus der Schulleitung – 校長的話 – Message from the School Head
Liebe Eltern, liebe Schüler, liebe Freunde unserer Schule,
nach einem wunderbaren Start in das neue Schuljahr, standen
wir Ende September noch einmal vor der Herausforderung,
einen personellen Engpass in der Sekundarschule bewältigen
zu müssen. Ich danke an dieser Stelle Herrn Gavin Winter
herzlich, dass er eingesprungen ist, um uns hier aus der
Klemme zu helfen und unseren Schüler erstklassigen
Unterricht in Physik, Chemie und Biologie zu erteilen. Auch
danke ich ganz herzlich Frau Mauritz-Tozer, Herrn Blütner,
Herrn Scherzinger, Herrn Engler, Herrn Dr. Engel und Frau
Fritzen, die eingesprungen sind, um die entstandenen Lücken
zu schließen.
Ende September besuchte uns die neue Prozessbegleiterin
der Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen, Frau
Constanze Creutzburg, um unsere Schule kennenzulernen.
Auftrag der Prozessbegleitung ist die Beratung der Schulen in
der Qualitätsentwicklung. Frau Creutzburg war Leiterin der
hessischen Schulinspektion bevor sie die Aufgabe übernommen hat, mit Sitz in Shanghai die Schulen in Fernost
(Japan, Korea, China und Taiwan) zu beraten. Wie schon viele
Besucher vor ihr war Frau Creutzburg beeindruckt von
unserem erfolgreichen Konzept der Arbeit als anerkannte und
geförderte Deutschen Auslandsschule mit den europäischen
Partnern unter dem Dach der leistungsfähigen Taipei
European School.
Mit diesem letzten Feedback zu unserer Schulqualität fühlen wir uns gut aufgestellt
für das Ende November 2015 anstehende Peer Review, bei der wir kritischen
Freunden konkrete Fragen zu unserer Schulqualität gestellt haben, auf die sie einen
Blick werfen sollen. Wir haben als Peers Herrn Erhard Beck und Frau Jana Eggert
von der Deutschen Schule Kuala Lumpur gewinnen können. Beide sind
hocherfahren, Herr Beck als Schulleiter und Frau Eggert als Schulentwicklungsexpertin.
Von dem Peer Review erhoffen wir uns weitere Erkenntnisse, um uns auf den Weg
zu machen, uns im November 2016 erneut der Bund-Länder-Inspektion zu
unterziehen, in der die fördernden Stellen (Bund) und die Garanten unserer Standards (Länder – Beauftragte der Kultusministerkonferenz) nach fünf Jahren wieder
sehr kritisch überprüfen werden, ob wir die hohen Qualitätsstandards des Bundes
und der Länder für die Deutschen Schulen im Ausland in vollem Maße erfüllen.

Zum Herbstfest der Taipei European School hatte die Schule eine prominente
Besucherin. Die stellvertretende Bürgermeisterin der Stadt Taipei, Frau Li-Fang
Chou, besuchte unsere Schule. Da Frau Chou an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität
in Kiel promoviert hat und fließend Deutsch spricht, war es nahe liegend, dass die
Deutsche Sektion sich federführend um die Besucherin gekümmert hat.
Am ansonsten quasi papierlosen Arbeitsplatz des Schulleiters entdeckte sie die
ersten zwei Bänder der „Briefe aus Taiwan“1, in denen Schulleiter Fritzen und seine
Frau regelmäßig Freunden, Familie und der interessierten Weltöffentlichkeit über ihre
Impressionen aus unserem faszinierenden Gastland berichten.
Unsere nächsten großen Schulveranstaltungen sind am Samstag, dem 28.
November 2015 der traditionelle Christmas Bazaar der Taipei European School und
dann am Freitag, dem 11. Dezember 2015 die Weihnachtsfeier der Deutschen
Schule. Ich hoffe, Sie alle bei diesen Veranstaltungen begrüßen zu dürfen. – Alle

親愛的家長和學生，親愛的校友們，
新學年成功地開始後，中學部在九月底便面對一項人事臨時短缺的挑戰。本人於此特
別感謝 Gavin Winter 先生接下教職加入本校團隊，幫助我們解決這困境，並為學生提
供一流的物理、化學和生物課程。我還要誠摯地感謝 Mauritz Tozer 女士、Blütner 先
生、Scherzinger 先生、Engler 先生、Engel 博士先生和內人期間提供協助與配合課表
調動。
九月底，我們亦有德國僑校總管理處新任的校務發展顧問 Creutzburg 女士來訪。而顧
問參訪任務旨在提供各校發展計畫和過程上相關諮詢與建議。Creutzburg 女士在擔任
此職之前曾是德國黑森州教育督察主委，目前於東亞區(日本、韓國、中國與台灣)設
於上海的總部負責顧問工作。如同過往許多的嘉賓，身為德國外僑學校之一且隸屬卓
越的台北歐洲學校的我們也對她留下十分深刻的印象。
面對 2015 年 11 月底的各校同步評鑑，本部因從上回評鑑結果與反應中學習良多，故
已做好充份準備且有相當把握，將會向參與研討的友校提出關於本校辦學品質重要與
具體的問題，讓大家能夠詳細審查。這回受邀的與會者有來自馬來西亞德國學校的
Erhard Beck 先生和 Jana Eggert 女士。而身為校長的 Beck 先生與校務發展專家
Eggert 女士都具有豐富的評鑑經驗。
本部期望能於這次各校同步評鑑結果中獲取新知，提早為 2016 年十一月聯邦州政府的
督察做準備，讓推展學校的聯邦以及擔保學校品質的各邦文教部長常設會議在五年後
能夠再次有效審查我們是否達到跟符合聯邦各州政府訂定之德國外僑學校高標與條件。
台北歐洲學校秋季派對當晚，我們很榮幸邀請到台北市副市長周麗芳女士參加。擁有
德國基爾大學博士學位的她德語流利，想當而知，相關介紹與接待工作便由本部負責。
在校長室幾乎無紙化的辦公桌上，周女士發現兩冊“台灣信息” 2 的書籍，其為校長
Fritzen 先生在台多年的生活報導，長期發送給世界各地關心且感興趣的親朋好友閱讀。
年底前，校內還將舉辦兩個重要活動，一項是 2015 年 11 月 28 日週六傳統的聖誕園
遊會，另一項是 2015 年 12 月 11 日週五德國部的聖誕晚會。我誠心希望也熱烈歡迎

After a wonderful start to the new school year, we once again faced the challenge of
coping with a staff shortage in the secondary school at the end of September. At this
point, I want to thank Mr. Gavin Winter for joining our team and helping us out of a fix

so our students can enjoy first-class teaching in physics, chemistry and biology. I
also would like to warmly thank Ms. Mauritz Tozer, Mr Blütner, Mr Scherzinger, Mr.
Engler, Dr. Engel, and Ms. Fritzen who have stepped in to fill the vacancy.
At the end of September, Ms. Constanze Creutzburg, the new facilitator of the
Central Agency for German Schools Abroad, paid a visit to our school. The mission of
facilitators is to consult schools in the process of quality development. Ms.
Creutzburg used to be Head of the Hessian School Inspection before she took on
this task headquartered in Shanghai to advise schools in the Far East (Japan, Korea,
China and Taiwan). As with most of our previous visitors, Ms. Creutzburg was quite
impressed by our successful concept of work as a recognized and funded German
School Abroad with European partners under the aegis of the powerful Taipei
European School.
With the latest evaluation of our school quality in place, we are now in a good
position to undergo the pending peer review at the end of November 2015 and have
put specific questions accordingly for our critical friends to answer. Moreover, we
have won Mr Erhard Beck and Ms. Jana Eggert from the German School Kuala
Lumpur on our board of peers. Both guests are highly experienced, for Mr. Beck is
school head and Ms. Eggert as an expert for school development.
We hope to attain new insights from the Peer Review to be well-prepared for the next
pending inspection at the end of November 2016, during which the donors (Federal)
and the guarantors of our standards (Federal States – Comissars of Standing
Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs) will critically survey
whether we meet the high quality standards of the federal and state governments for
German Schools Abroad in full measure.
At the Autumn Festival of Taipei European School, we had a prominent visitor in the
audience. The Deputy Mayor of Taipei City, Ms. Li-Fang Chou, was among the
guests. Since Ms. Chou holds a PhD from the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel
and speaks German fluently, it was natural that the German Section of took good
care of her. On the usually paperless table of the school head, she discovered the
first two volumes of "Letters from Taiwan" 3 , in which Mr. Fritzen and his wife
frequently report to friends and family about their impressions of their fascinating host
country.
Our last two big school events of 2015 will take place in the coming weeks: the
traditional TES Christmas Bazaar will fall on Saturday, November 28, and the
Christmas Celebration of the German Section on Friday, December 11. I look forward
to greeting you all at these events.

Kindergarten – 幼稚園 – Kindergarten
Das Mondfest

Der Kindergarten feierte in diesem Jahr das Herbstmondfest am 25. September in
allen drei Gruppen. In der Woche davor hatten alle Erzieher den Kindern die
Geschichte zum Mondfest erzählt, Bilder dazu angemalt und die Flex-0-Kinder hatten
mit Nicole die Geschichte von Chang E und Hou Yi eingeübt und führten sie am
Freitag den Kindergartenkindern vor.
Später versammelten sich die Kinder in ihren eigenen Gruppenräumen am Tisch und
probierten verschiedene Sorten Mondkuchen und Pomelo, dazu durften alle Kinder
chinesischen Tee trinken.
Wir bedanken uns bei allen Eltern die uns Mondkuchen und Pomelo geschenkt
haben.

幼稚園三個班級分別在今年9月25日慶祝中秋佳節。活動一週前，老師們為小朋友講述
中秋故事並一起畫圖，學前班同學還與 Nicole 老師演練嫦娥和后羿的故事，
在週五表演給全園的小朋友看。
演出結束後，小朋友便回到自己的教室同坐，品嘗不同口味的月餅和柚子，也被允許
試飲中國茶。
我們於此再次感謝所有提供月餅和柚子的家長。

The Moon Festival

This year, every group of the kindergarten
celebrated the Moon Festival on September 25.
One week before the event, all teachers told their
children relevant stories and let them paint pictures
about it. In addition, Flex 0 children rehearsed the
story of Chang E and Hou Yi with Nicole and
presented it to all kindergarten children on Friday.
Later on, they went back to the classrooms and
gathered at the tables to try different kinds of moon
cakes as well as pomelos. The children even tried
Chinese tea.
With this, we would like to thank all the parents
who provided the moon cakes and pomelos.

Terry Fox Run

Am 2. Oktober 2015 auf der Peace Day Assembly erfuhren die Schülerinnen und
Schüler das erste Mal, dass auch dieses Jahr die TES wieder am weltweit
stattfindenden Terry-Fox-Lauf teilnehmen wird. Als Vorbereitung auf die Thematik
sahen sie eine Reportage über den Kanadier Terry Fox.
Am 22. Oktober war es dann endlich soweit – „unsere Kleinen“ aller drei Sektionen
durften an den Start auf dem für sie riesig wirkenden Soccer-Platz der TES gehen für
Terry Fox und für die Krebsforschung. Hohe Gäste waren zu diesem Event ebenfalls
eingeladen.
Als Vertreter für die Stadt Taipei: Bürgermeister Dr. Wen-Je Ko, Frau Ya-Jiuan Ho
(Assistant Commissioner Department of Education Taipei City Government) und Frau
Ching-Yu Yao (Advisory Officer and Executive Secretary for International Affairs
Advisory Council Taipei City Government).
Als Vertreterin Kanadas nahm an der Veranstaltung Frau Su Yun Geithner (Director –
General Relations Canadian Trade Office in Taipei) teil.
Als Vertreter der TES waren anwesend: Dr. Allan Weston (CEO), Mr. Mark Lintott
(Chair of Board of Governors) und die jeweiligen Schuleiter der drei Sektionen
durften natürlich nicht fehlen: Jean-Ives Vesseau (Französische Sektion), Peter
Sloan (British Primary Section) und unser Schulleiter Emmanuel Fritzen (Deutsche
Sektion).
Der nun zum zweiten Mal an der Schule stattfindende Terry Fox-Lauf ist vor allen
Dingen auf das Engagement von Christie Woodall zurückzuführen, deshalb soll sie
nun an dieser Stelle, zu Wort kommen. Für das Interview konnte ich Natasha aus der
4. Klasse von Frau Engel gewinnen.

Terry Fox Run 馬拉松義跑

2015年10月2日本校慶祝世界和平日當天，學生首次獲曉今年學校將再度參加全球各
地都進行的 Terry Fox Run 馬拉松義跑。按照活動準備工作的安排，他們欣賞了一部有
關這位加拿大 Terry Fox 先生的紀錄片。
不久，10月22日這天終於來到 – 各部“低年級”的學生允許前往寬廣的 TES 足球場內
跑步，好紀念 Terry Fox 先生以及支持癌症研究。許多嘉賓也應邀參加此次盛會。
現場的台北市代表有：柯文哲市長，何雅娟女士（台北市教育局副局長），以及饒慶鈺
女士（台北市國際事務委員會執行長）。
加拿大來的代表有：明秀妍女士（加拿大駐台北貿易辦事處政經暨公共事處處長）。
TES 代表則有：Allan Weston 博士（CEO）Mark Lintott 先生(董事會主席）和三部的
“校長” - Jean-Ives Vesseau 先生（法國部），Peter Sloan 先生（英國部）和我們的
校長傅立光先生（德國部）全都出席活動。
最後還需要一提的是，本校第二年的 Terry Fux 馬拉松義跑發起人是 Christie Woodall
女士，幸有她的組織與協助，這項深具意義的活動得以實現。另外還要感謝四年級
Engel 老師的學生 Natasha 幫忙採訪 Woodall 老師，了解與報導她對義跑的感想。

Terry Fox Run

During the World Peace Day Assembly on 2 October 2015, our students learned for
the first time that TES will participate in the Terry Fox Run again. In preparation for
this event, they watched a documentary film about the Canadian, Mr. Terry Fox.
On 22 October, the time had finally come and "our little ones" from all three sections
were allowed to position themselves in the relatively huge soccer field for the
purpose of the run and to raise money for cancer research. VIP guests were invited
to this event as well.
As representatives of the Taipei City: Mayor Dr. Wen-Je Ko, Ya-Jiuan Ho (Assistant
Commissioner Department of Education Taipei City Government) and Ms. Ching-Yu
Yao (Advisory Officer and Executive Secretary for International Affairs Advisory
Council Taipei City Government ).
As representative from Canada: Ms. Su Yun Geithner (Director - General Relations
Canadian Trade Office in Taipei).
As representatives of our school we counted: Dr. Allan Weston (CEO), Mr. Mark
Lintott (Chair of Board of Governors), and of course, the respective "Heads" of all
three sections were not missing, either: Jean-Yves Vesseau (French Section), Peter
Sloan (British Section) and our school head Emmanuel Fritzen (German Section).
Above all, the realization of the TES Terry Fox Run is credited to Ms. Christie
Woodall. Thus, we would like to express our gratitude for her commitment to this
event. Finally, I was able to win Natasha from Ms. Engel’s class 4 to do an interview
with her.

Interview with Ms. Christie Woodall

Natasha: Are you happy with this years’ Terry Fox Run?
Ms. Woodall: I am thrilled with this year’s success! Because the majority of students
are aware of the event from last year, I could tell everyone was keen to raise money
and to run again this year. We earned much here at Primary, which is pretty
incredible when you think about it.
Natasha: Will TES participate in next year’s Terry Fox Run?
Ms. Woodall: I believe that this will have to be a decision made by my colleagues. If
the school feels it is something we value to host yearly, I would be thrilled for this to
continue. This year, there wasn’t a Terry Fox Run held in Taipei, so this TES run was
the only option. I will always be in support and helping others regardless of the
cause.
Natasha: How many pupils from our school took part this year?
Ms. Woodall: We had over 900 students participating here at the Primary campus.
Natasha: What inspires you to organize such a big event? Why do you feel
connected to Terry Fox?
Ms. Woodall: There are many reasons really: being a young Canadian at the time of
Terry’s Marathon of Hope, I didn’t fully understand the cause, but growing up, my
school (along with hundreds of others) held an annual Terry Fox Run. We would
collect money for weeks, and I can remember the excitement leading up to the event.
We used to run on roads – just like Terry- with parental supervision and police to
keep us safe. I think anyone who grew up at this time feels connected to Terry Fox’s
cause. Also, my family lost a dear friend to cancer when I was a child and we saw
the devastating effects it had on her family. I suppose every one of us would pray for
a cure to be found.

Sekundarschule – 中學部 – Secondary School
Mathematikunterricht: Erwartung und Ergebnis

Lehrererwartung und Schülerleistung sind nicht immer identisch, vor
allem dann nicht, wenn die Schülerinnen und Schüler Spaß an der
Aufgabe haben.
Im Mathematikunterricht der Klasse 5 war der Auftrag, eine Seite
einer achsensymmetrischen (spiegelbildlichen) Figur zu zeichnen,
dann das Blatt mit einer Mitschülerin oder einem Mitschüler zu
tauschen, um gegenseitig die Zeichnungen zu vervollständigen.
Die Lehrererwartung war eine einfache Zeichnung, die sich schnell
vervollständigen lässt, so dass die ganze Aufgabe in maximal 8 – 10
Minuten erledigt ist (ausdenken, zeichnen, tauschen, vervollständigen, zurücktauschen, kontrollieren).
Schon kurz nach Stellung der Aufgabe konnte man erkennen, dass die Erwartung
„einfache Zeichnung“ in mehreren Fällen nicht erfüllt wurde. Damit war dann auch
das Zeitfenster nicht mehr passend. Als Lehrer hat man dann zwei Möglichkeiten, die
Schülerinnen und Schüler in ihrer Kreativität zu bremsen oder einen Monatsblattartikel daraus zu machen. In diesem Fall habe ich mich für das zweite
entschieden.
數學教育的期望與結果

教師期望和學生的學習成績並不總是相同的，尤其不能當學生有樂趣的工作。
在數學教學中的合同的第5類是繪製軸對稱（鏡像）字符的一側，然後更換與同學或同
學互相完成圖紙的表。
老師的期望是能夠迅速完成，這樣在最大8全年任務一個簡單的繪圖 - 做10分鐘（想像
一下，畫，交流，完整，回報掉期，檢查）。
不久後的物體的位置可以看出，“簡單的繪圖”的期望沒有達到在若干實例。所以後
來的時間窗口已經不再合適。作為一名老師，你再有兩個選擇，以遏制他們的創造力
的學生，或使月表的項目由此。在這種情況下，我已決定為第二。

Mathematics Lesson: Expectations and Results

The expectations from teachers and the achievements of students do not always
meet, especially when students have fun with a task.
In one mathematics lesson of Class 5, students were assigned to draw a side of an
axially symmetrical (mirror-image) figure, and then exchange the sheet with a
classmate to complete the drawing of the other side.
The teacher’s expectation was a simple drawing that could be completed quickly so
that the whole task would take a maximum of 8 to 10 minutes (to imagine, draw,
exchange, complete, return, and check).
Shortly after introducing the task, it was obvious that the expectation of a “simple
drawing" had not been fulfilled in several cases. Thus the original time slot was no
longer appropriate. As a teacher, you then have two options: to hold the students
back, crushing their creativity, or to let them finish the task and write an article for the
monthly newsletter. In this case, I have chosen the latter.

Feierlichkeiten zum 25. Tag der Deutschen Einheit

Ein Vierteljahrhundert „Tag der deutschen Einheit“ darf schon etwas feierlicher begangen werden. Darauf wies schon die Ortswahl für dieses Ereignis, das Foyer des
Nationaltheaters nahe der Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall im Herzen Taipeis, hin.
Hierhin zumindest hatten Herr Martin Eberts sowie seine Frau, Hadwig Eberts, zum
diesjährigen Abendempfang geladen. Die dieses Ereignis einleitende Rede des
Leiters unseres hiesigen Deutschen Instituts begann zunächst – in geschliffenem
Englisch – nicht mit nationalen Lobgesängen, sondern mit nachdenklichen Fragen:
„How many times in history have there been peaceful revolutions transforming a
whole continent? How many times has peaceful change ended dictatorship and
injustice, without a shot fired, without lives lost? How many times has the free will of
citizens prevailed over illegitimate rulers and the utterly anti-democratic one-partysystem?”
Anschließend stellte der Redner jenes Ereignis in den ihn einst umgebenden internationalen Kontext. Dass die deutsche Wiedervereinigung auch ein, wenn nicht das
Nebenprodukt internationaler Annäherungen (einerseits zwischen den einstigen
Supermächten und ihren Staatslenkern, andererseits aber auch zwischen den in
einer immer größer werdenden EU vereinten Staaten) war, wurde durch den Blick auf
die einfachen Leute ergänzt:
”However, the whole process was really made possible by the courageous and
popular movements in the formerly communist countries in Europe, who had firmly
stood up against the illegitimate rule of the communist parties. Ever since a Pope
from Poland, St. John Paul II., had been elected, the winds of change were felt in

Auch die stellvertretende Ministerin des taiwanischen Ministeriums für Auswärtige
Angelegenheiten, Frau Vanessa Shih, griff diesen internationalen Kontext der
deutschen Wiedervereinigung auf und bettete diese mit dem Hinweis um jüngste
Verhandlungs-, Annäherungs- und Entspannungsbemühungen durch, in und um
Taiwan in den aktuellen asiatischen Kontext ein.
Ebenso wie Frau Vanessa Shih eröffnete die Theatergruppe „Short One Group“ unter
der Leitung des Regisseurs Tao WeiIzu mit dem Theaterstück „Die Mauer muss
weg“ eine sehr taiwanische Sichtweise auf die deutsche Wiedervereinigung. Der
Leiter des hiesigen Goethe-Instituts, Herr Clemens Treter initiierte, unterstützte und
führte in deren Performance ein: Ein halbes Jahr probten die Schauspieler allein für
diese einmalige Aufführung, für die sie sich inhaltliche Beratung aus Deutschland
holten und die unter den Klängen des Liedes „The World Behind My Wall“ der
Magdeburger Musiker von Tokyo Hotel ein doch recht beeindruckendes Ende fand.
Danach lockte ein umfangreiches Buffet die Anwesenden. Frau Schmidt-Koschella
scheute von Seiten der Organisation durch das Deutsche Institut und die Mitarbeiter
des Sherwood-Hotels von Seiten der Realisation her offensichtlich weder Kosten
noch Mühe den (häufig auch taiwanischen) Gaumen in kulinarischer Hinsicht eine
Horizonterweiterung erleben zu lassen: Dem traditionellen Münchner Maß mit
Weißbier, Bretzel sowie Weißwurst eröffneten nun nord-ost-deutsche Spezialitäten,
wie Berliner Weiße (die nett rot-grün daher kam) als auch Gurken- und Kartoffelsalate bisher ungewohnte und schmackhafte Einblicke in die deutsche Küche.

Und auch hier wieder ein Ende mit Musik. Die speziell für diesen Auftritt formierte
Band "Die Praktikanten" bestand aus einem Deutschen mit Hut (unserem Lehrer
Klaus Blütner an der Gitarre), zwei Taiwanesen ohne Hut (Kailin mit den Trommeln
sowie Ken am Bass) und einem Kanadier mit Gitarre (Scott). Mit "Wind of Change"
von den Scorpions, "Alt wie ein Baum" von den Puhdys, auch Nenas „99 Luftballons"
als auch dem von Karat komponierten und später durch Peter Maffay übernommenen “Über sieben Brücken mußt du geh'n" wurden offensichtlich nicht nur
Texte gewählt, die inhaltlich den langen und mühevollen Weg zu Veränderungen
unterstrichen, sie stellten auch melodisch einen gelungenen deutsch-deutschen Mix
dar. Schließlich betteten sowohl "One" von U2 als auch “Another Brick In The Wall"
(Pink Floyd) den Abschluss der Feierlichkeiten musikalisch in jenen erwähnten
größeren internationalen Kontext, den die oben genannten Eingangsreden so sehr
betonten.

德國統一至今已過了四分之一
世紀，想必需要大家莊重且盛
大地來慶祝。而今年活動場地
選在位於台北市中心的中正紀
念堂國家戲劇院大廳就表示對
其之慎重與關注。
應主辦人 Martin Eberts 先生
與 Hadwig Eberts 夫人之邀，
嘉賓蒞臨今年的慶祝晚宴。但
德國在台協會處長的英語開幕
致前並無德國國歌詠唱，而是
提出一個值得你我深思熟慮的
問題：
“請問歷史上有過多少次和平、理性的革命曾改變整個各洲大陸？有多少次和平改革
能不開槍不傷生地結束獨裁統治和其不公不義？有多少次公民自由意志確實戰勝任何
非法獨裁者和反民主的一黨政治？“
發言者接著轉向各國貴賓闡述主題。事實上，德國的統一也屬世界強權國家與領導和
不斷茁壯的歐盟間交涉下的副產品，對此處長補充了平民的意見與想法：
“然而，這整個過程的實現還要歸功於歐洲許多前共產國家國內所發生的改革與推動，
和他們大眾對共產黨非法統治的勇敢反抗。自從選出波蘭籍的教宗聖若望保祿二世之
後，改變之風便遍及中歐和東歐“（請參考2015年10月14日中國郵報完整報導）。
外交部常務次長史亞平女士也於晚宴上致詞，將德國統一歷史與台灣近期的東亞外交
努力和交涉作相關連結。順著史亞平次長的闡述，受邀於國慶晚宴演出的三缺一劇團

另為大家呈現由總監陶先生指導的現代短劇 -“圍牆必需倒下”，表達台灣對兩德統一
的觀點。此齣戲劇榮獲台北歌德學院院長柯理博士先生的大力支持：為此難得且唯一
一場表演，演員特請德國專家來台指導，半年前便開始準備與排練，並選擇馬德堡音
樂人“東京飯店”樂團的曲目-“圍牆另一邊的世界”作配樂，給觀眾留下十分深刻的
印象。
節目結束後還有豐盛自助晚餐供佳賓享用。今年晚宴因有在台協會副處長女士
Schmidt-Koschella 與同事協助和負責餐飲的西華飯店員工配合下，讓許多台灣賓客嘗
到不同於本土且不常見的德式美味佳餚。
當晚演出者還有為國慶特別組團的“實習生” 們，成員為頭頂帽子的德國音樂人（我
們的老師 Klaus Blütner 任吉他手）、兩位台灣樂手（鼓手 Kailin 和低音手 Ken）與加
拿大樂手（吉他手 Scott）。表演曲目從 Scorpions 的“Wind of Change”、Pudys 的
“Alt wie ein Baum”、Nena 的“99 Luftballons”還有 Karat 作曲及 Peter Maffay 翻
唱的“Über sieben Brücken mußt du geh'n" 都於詞曲上反映出漫長辛苦的兩德統合改
變。
晚宴最後兩首音樂，U2的“One”與 Pink Floyd 的“Another Brick In The Wall”，則
為此慶祝活動畫下一個完美句點。

Ceremony of the 25th Anniversary of German Reunification

The quarter century anniversary of German reunification deserved a somewhat
ceremonious commitment. And the venue of choice for this event - the foyer of the
National Theatre at the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial in the heart of Taipei – was
indicative of this respect.
Hence, Mr.Martin Ebert and his wife invited guests to this year's evening reception.
The introductory speech from the Director General of our local German Institute first
began - in polished English - not with national hymns, but with thoughtful questions:
"How many times in history have there been peaceful revolutions transforming a
whole continent? How many times has peaceful change ended dictatorship and
injustice, without a shot fired, without lives lost? How many times has the free will of
citizens prevailed over illegitimate rulers and the utterly anti-democratic one-party
system? "
Then the speaker put this event in the surrounding international context. The fact that
the German Reunification was, if not “the” by-product of international approaches (on
the one hand between the former superpowers and their statesmen; on the other
hand amid a growing EU), the purview of the common people:
"However, the whole process was really made possible by the courageous and
popular movements in the formerly communist countries in Europe, who had stood
up to the illegitimate rule of the Communist Parties. Ever since a pope from Poland,
St. John Paul II., was elected, the winds of change were felt in Central and Eastern
Europe "(the complete speech was also published in the China Post on 14th October
2015).
The deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Taiwan, Ms. Vanessa Shih, took
up this international context of the German Reunification and connected it to recent
negotiation efforts by Taiwan in the current Asian context.
As with Ms Vanessa Shih, the theater group “Short One Group” under the guidence
of director Tao WeiIzu continued the international context of the evening with the play
“The Wall Must Fall,” a very Taiwanese perspective on the German Unification. The
director of the local Goethe Institute, Mr. Clemens, initiated, supported, and
introduced their performance. For the rehearsal alone, the actors started to prepare

and practice six months ago to present this unique performance under the
consultation of German expertise. As a result, it left a positive impression on the
audience and ended with the song “The World Behind My Wall” by Magdeburger
musicians Tokyo Hotel.
Afterwards, a lavish buffet was open to all guests. This year´s ceremony did not, as is
so common, serve the cliché of a Bavarian Germany. From the organisation by the
German Institute and its employees and the Sherwood Hotel to the realization of the
buffet, Ms. Schmidt-Koschella obviously did not spare any costs or efforts in offering
the guests (mostly Taiwanese) a horizon-widening culinary event: the traditional
Munich Mass with wheat beer, pretzels, and white sausages, as well as north-east
German specialties, such as Berliner Weisse (the nice red and green beer) and
cucumber and potato salads which gave an unusual and tasty insight into German
cuisine.
Once again the night ended with music. And a music band called "The Interns", which
consisted of a German with hat (our teacher Klaus Blütner as guitarist), two hatless
Taiwanese (Kailin as drummer and Ken playing bass) and a Canadian guitarist
(Scott), was specially formed for this event. Obviously, the lyrics of "Wind of Change"
by the Scorpions, "Old Like a Tree" by the Pudys and Nena’s "99 Ballons", as well as
the song "You Must Go Over Seven Bridges" composed by Karat and later covered
by Peter Maffay, underlined the long and painful path of changes. They also featured
a successful German-German melodic mix. The final songs chosen for this evening
were "One" by U2 and "Another Brick in the Wall" (Pink Floyd) and echoed the
ceremony musically in respect to the introductory speeches.

Book Sale at EPC on 20th of November

BOOK DONATIONS welcome!
It's time to get rid of old and/or unused books again to make other kids happy!
As most of you know German books are rather expensive/difficult to get in Taiwan.
Let's put them to good use by handing them on to others if we don't need them
anymore!
What should be donated?
German Books, CDs, DVDs for children of kindergarten and elementary school age
(a book sale for ESC students may take place next year).
English, Chinese, French, Spanish and other language books will be accepted as
well!
How and where to deliver donations?
Pack everything into a bag or a box.
Hand it in directly to Mr. Chih-Chin Huang or Ms. I-Hua Chang in the EPC German
Section office until the 19th of November.
Or: Drop it at the ESC German Section office but write "GS EPC Sekretariat" on it to
make sure it finds its way down to EPC.
The books/DVDs/CDs donated will be sold for a small fee. The income will be used
to buy new books for the library. In addition we offer a considerable quantity of new
books ordered from Germany that will be sold at about the same price as in Germany
in NTD equivalent.
Books not sold will be donated to the library.
