IMPORTANT
IMPORTANT: This is a precision machine and the service obtained from it depends on the way it is
operated and maintained.
This operators manual should be regarded as part of the machine. Suppliers of both new and
second-hand machines are advised to retain documentary evidence that this manual was provided
with the machine.
This machine is designed solely for use in customary grass cutting operations. Use in any other
way is considered as contrary to the intended use. Compliance with and strict adherence to the
conditions of operation, service and repair as specified by the manufacturer, also constitute
essential elements of the intended use.
Before attempting to operate this machine, ALL operators MUST read through this manual and
make themselves thoroughly conversant with Safety Instructions, controls, lubrication and
maintenance.
Accident prevention regulations, all other generally recognized regulations on safety and
occupational medicine, and all road traffic regulations shall be observed at all times.
Any arbitrary modifications carried out on this machine may relieve the manufacturer of liability for
any resulting damage or injury.
Use of other than original or authorised Textron Turf Care & Specialty Products Spare Parts &
Accessories will void the warranty.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This safety symbol indicates important safety
messages in this manual. When you see this
symbol, be alert to the possibility of injury, carefully
read the message that follows, and inform other
operators.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure that the instructions in this book are read
and fully understood.
No person should be allowed to operate this
machine unless they are fully acquainted with all
the controls and the safety procedures.
Never allow children or people unfamiliar with
these instructions to use this machine. Local
regulations may restrict the age of the operator.
SAFETY SIGNS
It is essential all safety labels are kept legible, if
they are missing or illegible they must be replaced.
If any part of the machine is replaced and it
originally carried a safety label, a new label must
be affixed to the replacement part. New safety
labels are obtainable from Ransomes dealers.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the engine check that the drives
are in neutral, guards are in position and intact,
and bystanders are clear of the machine. Do not
run the engine in a building without adequate
ventilation.
DRIVING THE MACHINE
Before moving the machine, check to ensure that
all parts are in good working order, paying
particular attention to the security of cutting blades.
Replace faulty silencers. Mow only in daylight or
good artificial light.
Always observe the Highway Code both on and off
the roads. Keep alert and aware at all times.
Remember that some people are deaf or blind and
that children and animals can be unpredictable.
Watch out for traffic when crossing or near
roadways.
Stop the blades rotating before crossing surfaces
other than grass.
Remove or avoid obstructions in the area to be
cut, thus reducing the possibility of injury to
yourself and/or bystanders. When moving the
machine backwards, take special care to ensure
that the area behind is clear of obstructions and/or
bystanders.
After striking a foreign object, inspect the machine
for damage and make repairs before restarting and
operating the equipment. If the machine starts to
vibrate abnormally, check immediately.
DO NOT carry passengers.
Keep in mind that the operator or user is
responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to
other people or their property.
While mowing, always wear substantial footwear
and long trousers. Do not operate the equipment
when barefoot or wearing open sandals.

TRANSPORTING
Do not transport with cutting mechanism rotating.
Operate the machine with due consideration of
road and surface conditions, inclines and local
undulations.
LEAVING THE OPERATING POSITION
Park the machine on level ground. Before leaving
the operating position, stop the engine and make
sure all moving parts are stationary. Disengage all
drives. When the machine is to be parked, stored
or left unattended, lower the cutting units unless
the transport locks are being used.
SLOPES
TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN WORKING ON
SLOPES
Local undulations and sinkage will change the
general slope. Avoid ground conditions which can
cause the machine to slide. Keep machine speeds
low on slopes and during tight turns.
Ratchet driven machines free-wheel on downhill
slopes. Remember there is no such thing as a
"safe" slope. Travel on grass slopes requires
particular care, to guard against overturning.
BLOCKED CUTTING CYLINDER
Stop the engine and make sure all moving parts
are stationary. Apply brakes and disengage all
drives.
Release blockages with care. Keep all parts of the
body away from the cutting edge. Beware of
energy in the drive which can cause rotation when
the blockage is released.
Keep other people away from the cutting unit.
ADJUSTMENTS, LUBRICATION AND
MAINTENANCE
Read all the appropriate servicing instructions. Use
only the replacement parts supplied by the original
manufacturer.
When adjusting the cutting cylinders take care not
to get hands and feet trapped when rotating
cylinder. Make sure that other people are not
touching the cutting unit.
To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine,
silencer and battery free of grass, leaves or
excessive grease. Replace worn or damaged
parts for safety.
When working underneath lifted parts or machines,
make sure adequate support is provided.
Do not dismantle the machine without releasing or
restraining forces which can cause parts to move
suddenly.
Do not alter engine speed above maximum quoted
in Engine Specification. Operating the engine at
excessive speed may increase the hazard of
personal injury.

When refuelling, STOP THE ENGINE, DO NOT
SMOKE. Refuel outdoors only. Add fuel before
starting the engine, never add fuel while the
engine is running. Use a funnel when pouring fuel
from a can into the tank. Do not spill fuel onto hot
components. If petrol is spilled, do not attempt to
start the engine but move the machine away from
the area of spillage and avoid creating any source
of ignition until petrol vapours have dissipated. If
the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be
done outdoors. DO NOT fill the fuel tank beyond
the bottom of the filler neck. Replace all fuel tank
and container caps securely. Store fuel in
containers specifically designed for this purpose.
When servicing batteries, DO NOT SMOKE, and
keep naked lights away. Do not place any metal
objects across the terminals. Allow the engine to
cool before storing in any enclosure. Never store
equipment with petrol in the tank inside a building
where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.

VIBRATION LEVEL
The machine was tested for whole body and hand/
arm vibration levels. The operator was seated in
the normal operating postion with both hands on
the steering mechanism. The engine was running
and the cutting device was rotating with the
machine stationary.

CONTROLS
THROTTLE CONTROL (A FIG.2)
The maximum cutting speed can be adjusted by
means of this control. Release the handwheel and
move up to decrease or down to increase the
maximum engine revs.
IMPORTANT:
This control should only be
adjusted when the machine is stationary.
OPERATOR PRESENCE CONTROL
(OPC)
(B FIG.2)
By raising the OPC towards the hand rail the
engine revs are increased and the landroll clutch
engaged allowing the machine to move forwards.

BRAKE (A FIG.3)
The brake must only be applied when the OPC is
released.
FORWARD/REVERSE GEAR CHANGE
(FIG. 3)
To obtain forward drive the lever (C) should be
pushed to the left and then down from the neutral
position. For reverse drive the lever should be
pushed to the left and pulled upwards from the
neutral position and held so it does not move into
the gate. If it moves into the gate the engine will
cut out.
NOTE: It may be necessary to ‘blip’ the OPC to
allow the gear to engage.
CYLINDER DRIVE CLUTCH LEVER
(FIG. 3)
The clutch is engaged by pushing the lever (B) to
the right and then down. To disengage pull the
lever upwards and locate in slot at top of gate.

STARTER SWITCH (D FIG. 3)
This is turned clockwise to start the engine and
anticlockwise to stop the engine.
CHOKE CONTROL (FIG. 4)
The lever (A) on the right hand side of the
carburettor will operate the choke control and
should be used when the engine is cold. As soon
as the engine warms up the choke should be
returned to its normal running position (pointing to
the rear of the machine).

The fuel tap (C fig. 4) is turned on by turning the
lever vertically downwards. The tap is in the ‘off’
position when the lever is horizontal. The glass
bowl (B Fig. 4) beneath the tank gives visible
indication that there is petrol (gasoline) when the
tap is turned on

TRANSMISSION LOCK (A FIG. 5)
When the OPC is released the engine speed drops
to slow idle allowing the centrifugal clutch to slip.
The OPC is automatically locked in this position.
To resume either cutting or transporting disengage
the transmission lock by pulling the knob away
from the handrail centre plate, select forward or
reverse gear, select either cutting or transport and
raise the OPC towards the handrail.
STOP SWITCH (B FIG. 5)
The Stop switch can be used to stop the machine
if a hazardous situation occurs. To reset, turn the
ignition key to the OFF position and reset the Stop
switch by rotating the knob.

BEFORE OPERATING THE MACHINE
FOR THE FIRST TIME:
1.

Remove the sump filler plug (B Fig. 6) and
with the machine on level ground fill the
sump with a recommended engine oil up to
the base of the threads on the dipstick
(maximum level) ofthe filler plug. Capacity
0.9 litres (1.6 lmp pints) 0.95 US Quarts.
NOTE: correct reading is obtained by replacing the
filler plug completely and removing it again.
Replace dipstick/filler plug after correct level of oil
is obtained.
2.
Remove cover from over gearbox and clutch
shaft by releasing screws (two screws each
side). Remove filler plug (A Fig. 7) and fill
gearbox with SAE50 oil up to the level
indicated on the straight dipstick (supplied).
replace plug when oil level is obtained.
Capacity 2.4 litres (4.2 lmp pints) 2.53 US
Quarts.
3.
Position the filler plug on the centre section
of the landroll between the rear engine
bearer and the main frame cross stay.
Remove filler plug (Fig. 8) and fill landroll
with SAE50 oil up to the level indicated on
the cranked dipstick (supplied). Replace
plug when correct level isobtained.
Capacity 0.28 litres (0.5 lmp pints)

Fill the petrol tank with regular grade petrol.

STARTING THE ENGINE

Electric Start (Fig. 9)
Apply the brake.Turn starter switch (D)
clockwise to the first position, then turn
further clockwise to the start position and
engine will start. If engine fails to start within
10 seconds, wait a further 30 seconds
before attempting to start the engine again.
NOTE: The starter switch will automatically return
to the run position from the start position when
released.
DO NOT turn switch to the off position as this will
stop the engine. The switch acts as a cut out
switch.

Recoil Starter (Fig. 10)
(a)
Pull the recoil starter handle (A) slowly until
resistance can be felt on compression,
continue to pull until the resistance ceases.
Allow the rope to recoil slowly then pull
handle sharply, the engine will then start.
Failure to dothis may result in the rope
being broken if a backfire occures.

IMPORTANT: The starter rope should never be
allowed to recoil sharply into its housing. The rope
should recoil slowly under control to avoid
breakage or damage.
Broken starter ropes should be replaced - NOT
REPAIRED.
Before starting the engine, check or set the
following points:

ATTACHED ALWAYS REVERSE
AT SLOW SPEED AND ENSURE
THAT THE TRAILING SEAT DOES
Check that the cylinder and landroll drive
clutches are disengaged and the brake is
applied.

Turn the fuel tap ‘on’ by positioning the lever
vertically downwards.
3.
Move the choke control lever (B Fig. 10) to
the right for cold starting.
NOTE:DO NOT use choke control if engine is
still warm.
4.
Ensure starter switch is turned to first
position.
This only applies if using recoil starter to
start engine.
5.
Allow engine to warm up sufficiently before
returning choke to its running position.
TO STOP THE MACHINE

Release the OPC and apply the brake.This
is equally important when moving forward or
when reversing.
Set the drive clutch lever (C Fig. 12) into the
neutral (N) position.
Set the cutting clutch lever (B Fig. 12) into
the disengaged position.
Turn the starter switch (D Fig. 12) to the ‘off’
position to stop the engine.

TRANSPORTING
(RIDE-ON-VERSION ONLY)
The front of the machine should be lifted up using
the lift lever (A Fig. 13) to raise the cutting unit off
the ground. The machine can be held in this
position by trapping the hook plate (A Fig. 14) on
the handle assembly under the foot operated latch
(B Fig. 14) on the seat frame.
The machine can then be used for transporting or
as a roller only machine.

ENGINE (FIG. 15)
DAILY (EVERY 8 WORKING HOURS)
Clean the sump filler cap and surrounding area.
Check level of oil in the sump. Remove dipstick
plug (B) from either side of crankcase and check
that the oil is up to the correct level. Maximum oil
level (a): To top of filler hole threads. Minimum oil
level (b): To bottom of dipstick. Top up with
recommended oil if necessary.

DRAIN ENGINE OIL (FIG. 15)

After warming up the engine remove the
drain plug (A) and drain all oil from the
sump. Clean the plug and replace.

through the dipstick/filler plug hole (B Fig.
15) up to the correct level. Capacity: 0.9

COOLING FINS AND AIR INTAKE
A
Check to ensure that the air intake (B Fig. 26) and
cooling fins (A Fig. 27) are kept free of all grass
clippings and debris. This is essential to allow the
free passage of air so that the cooling system
functions correctly. A blocked cooling system will
result in overheating and possible engine damage.
Clean more frequently under adverse conditions.

Unscrew wing nut (A) and remove cover.
2.
Remove foam element and clean in paraffin
(Kerosene). Dry completely and immerse in
new engine oil. Squeeze out to remove
excess oil.
3.
Clean off all dust from cleaner body and
plate.
4.
Re-assemble plate and foam element,
replace cover (A) into position securely.
NOTE: If element is damaged it should be
replaced. Extensive damage to the engine will
result if operation is continued with a dirty air
cleaner.
IMPORTANT: Service more frequently if operating
in dusty conditions.

BATTERY (A FIG. 29)
Check level of electrolyte. If necessary top up with
distilled water.
The battery is situated at the front of the machine
under the clutch shaft cover.

SPARK PLUG
(FIG. 31)
Remove spark plug and check condition. Good
operating conditions are indicated if the plug has a
light coating of grey or tan deposit. A white
blistered coating could indicate overheating. A
black (carbon) coating may indicate an over rich
fuel mixture or incorrect carburettor adjustment.
Do not sand blast, wire brush or otherwise service
a plug in poor condition. Best results are obtained
with a new plug. The plug gap should be set at
0.95mm (0.037in). Adjust the gap if necessary.

ADJUSTMENTS
HEIGHT OF CUT ADJUSTMENT
The cutting height is determined by the position of
the front rolls in relation to the bottom blade;
variation of this setting is made by adjusting the
front roll:

Loosen the bolts (Fig. 32) securing the front
roll brackets on both sides of the machine.
Set the roll at the required height - raise the
height of cut by lowering the front roll and
reverse the procedure to reduce the height
of cut. Check that the setting is the same at
both sides of the machine.
Tighten the bolts.
NOTE: The front roll should never be set so that
the bottom blade is pressing on the turf; this will
damage the spiral cutters, bottom blade and the
turf.
HANDLE (PEDESTRIAN MACHINE
ONLY)

The height of the handle can be adjusted to suit
the operator. Always raise the handle when fitting
and using the trailing seat to give clearance for
legs over undulating ground.
To adjust:
1.
Slacken the clamp bolts (Fig. 33)
2.
Move the handle to the required height.
3.
Re-tighten the bolts.
CYLINDER TO BOTTOM BLADE
ADJUSTMENT
To check that the cutting cylinder is set correctly to
the bottom blade: tilt the machine back, hold a thin
piece of paper between the edge of the blade and
spiral cutters, and turn the cylinder manually.

The paper should be cut cleanly along the length
of the bottom blade; if not, some adjustment is
necessary, DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Adjustment is made by turning the adjustment
screws (Fig. 34) clockwise to move the cylinder
towards the blade.
It is recommended that an 1/8 of turn is made
alternatively to each screw, checking frequently
with the paper until the correct setting is achieved.

CONCAVE
If the grass clippings do not enter the grassbox
satisfactorily, the concave needs adjusting:

Release the two setscrews (Fig. 35) at each
side, which secure the concave to the side
frame.
Move the concave until there is
approxiamately 1.5mm (1/16in) between the
concave and cutting cylinder, measured as
near to the centre line of the cylinder as
possible.
Ensure that the concave aligns correctly
with the bottom edge of the bottom block
before retightening the setscrew.
NOTE: The concave must not touch the cutting
cylinder.
CHAIN TENSIONERS (FIG. 36 & 36A)
Manual adjustment.
When correctly adjusted, both transmission chains
should be slightly slack in all positions.

Remove the chaincase.
Check the tension of the chain to ensure
that there are no tight spots.
If adjustment is necessary, slacken nut (A)
and push the pinion (B) towards the chain
until the required tension is obtained.
Tighten nut.
If at any time a chain is removed, ensure when
replacing that the gap in the spring clip points
away from the direction of rotation.
Automatic adjustment
Self adjusting Chain Tensioners need No
adjustment (Fig. 36A).

REMOVING THE CUTTING CYLINDER
AND BOTTOM BLADE ASSEMBLY

Remove the chaincase and the cylinder
drive chain.
2.
Tilt the machine back until it rests on the
handles.
3.
Remove the front roll by extracting the pivot
studs (A) and adjusting bolts (B) from both
sides of the machine.
4.
Remove the three cylinder housing screws
(C) from both sides of the machine.

The complete cutting unit will then slide out. Reassemble in reverse order.
REMOVING THE LANDROLL
ASSEMBLY (FIG. 38)
1.
Places wedges under the side frames for
support.
2.
Remove the chain cover and landroll drive
chain.
3.
Disconnect brake cable by removing the
split pin and pin which connects the lower
end of the cable to the brake lever.
4.
Remove the bolts securing the landroll
bearing housings (D) at both sides of the
machine.

STEERING CONTROL CABLE

The cable should be kept taut without overstraining
and the adjusters (A) at the rear of the machine
should be used for this purpose.
If adjustment is found necessary, tighten or
slacken the locknuts (B) to suit. Whilst every care
must be taken to ensure the cable is tight, the
relationship between the steering bar and the rear
roll must be maintained, ie. when the steering bar
is straight across the machine the rear roll should
be in the straight ahead position.

CARBURETTOR ADJUSTMENT
Idle setting (Fig. 42 and 43)

Allow the engine to warm up for
approximately 20 minutes and then stop the
engine.
Tighten the pilot screw (C) of the carburettor
completely, and then loosen it by 1.25 turns.
NOTE: DO NOT overtighten the pilot screw as this
may cause the taper point to become stepped.

Start the engine, set the control lever (G) to
the lowest speed position, and then adjust
the engine speed with the throttle stopper
adjusting screw (B) of the carburettor in
such a way that the engine maintains a
lowest speed.
Tighten or loosen the pilot screw (C) to
adjust the engine to the highest speed. (The
speeddrops when the screw is turned too
much in either direction).
Screw in the throttle stopper adjusting screw
(B) with the screw tip touching the throttle
valve (A) until the engine speed reaches
1100 to 1300rpm. This equals 550 to
650rpm at the output
shaft.
Screw in the idle screw (E) of the speed
control plate (D) until the engine speed
reaches 1600rpm. This equals 800rpm at
the output shaft.

ACCESSORIES
TRAILING SEAT (PEDESTRIAN
MACHINE)
If required, a trailing seat, with adjustable drawbar
length, may be attached to the machine by means
of a single pin coupling.
SIDE ROLLS
The front may be removed and replaced with side
rolls for the cutting of longer grass.
TIP-OVER GRASSBOX
If required, a tip-over grassbox can be fitted to
replace the self-emptying type

STORAGE
The machine should be thoroughly cleaned down
to remove all accumulationsof grass clippings and
debris. Turn the cutting cylinder a few times to
clean the cutting edges.
Apply a little oil with a brush on all cutters to
prevent rusting.
Empty the fuel tank, turn off fuel tap.
Run engine until fuel in the carburettor has been
used up, clean filter bowl and tap. Whilst engine is
still warm, drain crankcase and refill with fresh
engine oil. Remove spark plug and pour in
approxiamately 50cc of anti-corrosive oil. Turn
engine over manuallly a few times to spread the oil
over the cylinder walls and replace the spark plug.
Turn engine over slowly until restistance is felt, this
will ensure both valves are fully closed to prevent
moisture entering. Cover engine. Oil all pivot
points, adjusting screws and drive chains.
GENERAL ADVICE
After the first few hours of use, the machine should
be checked to see that all nuts and bolts are tight.
Before cutting, make sure the area to be cut is free
from stones etc, as these may well damage the
cutting cylinder.
Do not put the mower away with grass cuttings left
in the box.

CORRECTION OF MINOR FAULTS
FAULT
REMEDY
Variation in the height of cut grass
across the width of cut.
Front rolls are not square with bottom
blade. Make necessary adjustment as per
instruction on page 38.
Alignment if cutting cylinder has been upset,
probably through running into an obstruction.
Consult your local service centre.
Grass is cut unevenly in wavy or
hummocky fashion.
Grass is torn off instead of being
cut evenly.
Adjust cutting cylinder to the bottom blade,
see page 38 . If grass is still not cut cleanly, the
cutters require sharpening. Consult your local
service centre.
Grass is removed entirely and mower labours.
Bottom blade set too low.
Raise height of cut. See page 38.
Engine races but mower moves forward sluggishly.
Cylinder may have run into an obstruction.
Stop engine and clear. If no obstruction is present
the problem may be due to clutch slip. Consult
your local service centre.
Cuttings not entering grassbox properly.
Adjust throw of concave, see page 40.

Dieses HANDBUCH ZU SICHERHEIT, BEDIENUNG, UND ERSATZTEILEN muß als Teil der
Maschine angesehen werden. Lieferanten von neuen und gebrauchten Maschinen wird empfohlen,
urkundliche Beweise dafür aufzubewahren, daß dieses Handbuch mit der Maschine geliefert wurde.
Diese Maschine ist ausschließlich zur Verwendung beim üblichen Schneiden von Gras konstruiert.
Eine Verwendung auf irgendeine andere Weise gilt als Gegensatz zum bestimmungsgemäßen
Gebrauch. Eine Übereinstimmung mit den vom Hersteller festgesetzten Betriebs-, Instandhaltungsund Reparaturbedingungen und ihre strikte Einhaltung stellen ebenfalls wesentliche Elemente des
bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauchs dar.
Vor dem Betrieb dieser Maschine MÜSSEN ALLE Bediener dieses Handbuch durchlesen und sich
mit der Sicherheitsanleitung, den Steuervorrichtungen, der Schmierung und Wartung selbst
vollständig vertraut machen.
Vorschriften, die der Unfallverhütung dienen, alle anderen allgemein anerkannten Vorschriften
bezüglich Sicherheit und Arbeitsmedizin sowie die Straßenverkehrsordnung müssen jederzeit
befolgt werden.

darauffolgenden Hinweis genau durchlesen und
andere Personen, die diese Maschine bedienen,
darüber informieren.
BEDIENUNGSVORSCHRIFTEN
Achten Sie darauf, daß die Anweisungen in
diesem Handbuch durchgelesen und verstanden
wurden.
Das Gerät darf nur von Personen betrieben
werden, die mit allen Bedienungselementen und
den Sicherheitsverfahren vollauf vertraut sind.
Auf keinen Fall darf der Betrieb dieses Gerätes
Kindern oder Personen überlassen werden, die
sich im Gebrauch des Mähers nicht auskennen.
Möglicherweise bestehen örtliche Vorschriften, die
das Mindestalter für Rasenmäherbedienung
vorgeben.
SICHERHEITSSCHILDER
Prüfen Sie nach, daß die Sicherheitsschilder
lesbar bleiben. Für den Fall, daß sie
verlorengehen oder unlesbar werden, sind sie zu
ersetzen. Wenn ein Teil des Gerätes
ausgewechselt wird, das ursprünglich ein
Sicherheitsschild trug, muß an dem
ausgewechselten Teil ein neues Schild angebracht
werden. Neue Sicherheitsschilder sind von Ihrem
Ransomes-Händler erhältlich.
EINSCHALTEN DES MOTORS
Vor dem Einschalten des Motors ist nachzuprüfen,
daß die Antriebe in Neutralstellung stehen, die
Schutzbleche ordnungsgemäß befestigt und intakt
sind und daß Dritte nicht im Wege stehen. Bei
Einschalten des Motors in einem Gebäude ist für
angemessene Belüftung zu sorgen.
BETRIEB DER MASCHINE
Vor dem Anfahren des Gerätes ist nachzuprüfen,
daß alle Teile funktionstüchtig sind. Insbesondere
sind die Schneidmesser auf ihre Betriebssicherheit
zu prüfen. Fehlerhafte Schalldämpfer sind
auszuwechseln. Das Mähen ist nur bei Tageslicht
oder guter künstlicher Beleuchtung durchzuführen.
Die Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO) gilt nicht nur
auf der sondern auch außerhalb der Straße.
Bleiben Sie jederzeit wachsam und aufmerksam.
Denken Sie daran, daß manche Leute taub oder
blind und Kinder und Haustiere unberechenbar
sind. Behalten Sie beim Überqueren einer Straße
oder wenn Sie sich in der Nähe einer Straße
aufhalten, den Verkehr im Auge. Unterbrechen Sie
die Drehbewegung der Messer, bevor Sie Flächen
überqueren, auf denen kein Gras wächst.
Entfernen oder vermeiden Sie Hindernisse im zu
mähenden Bereich. Dadurch reduzieren Sie die
Gefahr einer körperlichen Verletzung an sich
selbst und/oder an Dritten. Wenn Sie
rückwärtsfahren, müssen Sie sich besonders
vergewissern, daß hinter Ihnen keine Hindernisse
und/oder dritte Personen stehen.
Sollte der Mäher auf einen Fremdkörper stoßen,
prüfen Sie nach, ob das Gerät beschädigt wurde
und führen Sie vor dem Neustart und der
Wiederinbetriebnahme die nötigen Reparaturen
durch. Wenn das Gerät stark zu vibrieren anfängt,
ist eine sofortige Überprüfung erforderlich.
Lassen Sie NIEMAND ANDERS mitfahren.
Denken Sie daran, daß der Bediener bzw.
Benutzer verantwortlich für Unfälle und für die
Gefährdung anderer Personen bzw. ihres
Eigentums ist.
Tragen Sie beim Mähen festes Schuhwerk und lange
Hosen. Mähen Sie nicht barfuß oder in offenen
Sandalen.

TRANSPORT
Beim Transportieren des Gerätes darf sich das
Schneidwerk nicht drehen. Passen Sie Ihre
Arbeitsweise den Straßen- und
Oberflächenverhältnissen, Schrägen und örtlichen
Unebenheiten an.
VERLASSEN DER BETRIEBSSTELLUNG
Parken Sie den Mäher auf ebenem Boden. Vor
dem Verlassen der Betriebsstellung müssen Sie
den Motor ausschalten und nachprüfen, daß alle
beweglichen Teile stillstehen. Alle Antriebe
auskuppeln! Wenn Sie den Mäher parken, am
Aufbewahrungsort abstellen oder ihn ohne
Aufsicht stehen lassen, müssen Sie, sofern keine
Transportverriegelungen benutzt werden, die
Schneidwerke absenken.
ABHÄNGE
BESONDERE VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN BEI
DER ARBEIT AN ABHÄNGEN
Örtliche Unebenheiten und Senkungen im Boden
verändern die allgemeine Abhangoberfläche.
Vermeiden Sie Oberflächen, auf denen das Gerät
ins Rutschen kommen kann. Arbeiten Sie mit
niedriger Geschwindigkeit an Abhängen und in
spitzen Kehren. Geräte mit Schaltradantrieb haben
bergab Freilauf. Es gibt keine “sicheren” Abhänge.
Bei Arbeiten an einem Grasabhang besteht die
Gefahr des Umkippens, daher besonders
aufpassen!
SCHNEIDWERK VERSTOPFT
Stellen Sie den Motor ab und vergewissern Sie
sich, daß alle beweglichen Teile stillstehen. Ziehen
Sie die Bremse und entkuppeln Sie alle Antriebe.
Sind Sie vorsichtig beim Entfernen der
Verstopfung. Achten Sie darauf, daß kein
Körperteil mit den Schneiden in Berührung kommt.
Beim Lösen der Verstopfung kann durch
Freisetzen etwa verbliebener Triebkraft in den
Antrieben das Schneidwerk in Bewegung geraten.
Halten Sie andere Personen vom Schneidwerk
fern.
EINSTELLARBEITEN, SCHMIERUNG UND
WARTUNG
Lesen Sie alle einschlägigen
Wartungsanweisungen. Verwenden Sie nur
Originalersatzteile.
Achten Sie beim Nachstellen der Schneidwerke
darauf, daß Hände und Füße beim Drehen des
Zylinders nicht in das Schneidwerk geraten.
Verhindern Sie, daß andere Personen das
Schneidwerk berühren.
Um Brandgefahr zu reduzieren, sollten Sie den
Motor, den Schalldämpfer und die Batterie von
Gras, Blättern und überschüssigem Fett freihalten.
Wechseln Sie verschlissene oder beschädigte
Teile der Sicherheit halber aus. Wenn Sie unter
angehobenen Teilen oder Maschinen arbeiten,
müssen Sie für entsprechend gute Abstützung
sorgen.
Nehmen Sie den Mäher nicht auseinander, ohne
vorher alle Kräfte, die eine plötzliche Bewegung
von Teilen verursachen können, freizusetzen oder
zu einzudämmen.
Überschreiten Sie beim Verstellen der
Motordrehzahl nicht den in den technischen Daten
angegebenen Höchstwert. Wenn Sie eine zu hohe
Drehzahl einstellen, besteht erhöhte Gefahr einer
Körperverletzung.

Stellen Sie bei Verwendung auf
Laderampen oder auf welligem
Untergrund immer sicher, dass
der Griff so eingestellt ist, dass
genügend Abstand über den
Beinen vorhanden ist. Bei
Nichtbeachtung könnten die Beine
des Bedieners mit dem
Ursprungscode (OPC) in Kontakt
kommen, wodurch die Steuerung
beeinträchtigt würde.–INHALT.

Beim Nachfüllen von Kraftstoff MOTOR
AUSSCHALTEN UND RAUCHEN EINSTELLEN.
Füllen Sie Kraftstoff nur im Freien nach, und zwar
nur bei stillstehenden nie bei laufendem Motor.
Benutzen zum Einfüllen aus einem Kanister in den
Tank einen Trichter. Vermeiden Sie das
Überlaufen von Kraftstoff auf erhitzte Teile. Beim
Überlaufen von Benzin Motor nicht starten,
sondern Mäher aus dem Bereich des
übergelaufenen Benzins herausfahren und
solange mit dem Zünden warten, bis sich die
Benzindämpfe verflüchtigt haben. Falls der
Kraftstofftank entleert werden muß, sollte dies im
Freien geschehen. Kraftstofftank NICHT WEITER
ALS bis an das untere Ende des Einfüllhalses
füllen. Alle Tank- und FüllbehälterVerschlußkappen wieder sicher aufsetzen.
Kraftstoff nur in Behältern aufbewahren, die für
diesen Zweck bestimmt sind.
Beim Warten von Batterien NICHT RAUCHEN und
nur abgeschirmtes Licht benutzen. Keine
Metallteile auf die Klemmen setzen. Motor
abkühlen lassen, bevor die Batterie in ihr Gehäuse
eingesetzt wird. Wenn der Tank Benzin enthält,
darf das Gerät auf keinen Fall in einem Gebäude
aufbewahrt werden, in dem die Dämpfe eine
nackte Flamme oder Funken erreichen können.

BEDIENUNGSELEMENTE
DROSSELKLAPPE (A Abb.2)
Mit dieser Steuerung kann die SchnittHöchstgeschwindigkeit eingestellt werden. Lassen
Sie das Handrad los und bewegen Sie die
Steuerung nach oben oder nach unten, um die
Motorendrehzahl zu senken oder zu erhöhen.
Wichtig: Diese Steuerung sollte nur eingestellt
werden, wenn die Maschine stillsteht.
BEDIENERANWESENHEITSSTEUERUNG
(BAS) (B Abb.2)
Durch Anheben der BAS auf den Handlauf zu
erhöht sich die Motorendrehzahl und die
Landwalzenkupplung rückt ein, wodurch sich die
Maschine vorwärts bewegen kann.

Bremse (A Abb. 3)
Die Bremse darf nur betätigt werden, wenn der
OPC gelöst ist.
Vorwärts-/Rückwärtsgangwechsel
(Abb.3)
Zum Fahren im Vorwärtsgang muß der Hebel (C)
von der neutralen Position aus nach links und
dann nach unten gedrückt werden. Zum Fahren
im Rückwärtsgang muß der Hebel von der
neutralen Position aus nach links gedrückt und
dann nach oben gezogen und dort gehalten
werden, damit er sich nicht in die
Durchlaßschaltung bewegt. Wenn er sich in die
Durchlaßschaltung bewegt, schaltet sich der Motor
aus.
BEACHTEN SIE: Es kann notwendig sein, die
BAS kurz anzuschlagen, damit der Schalthebel
einrastet.
Zylinderantrieb-Kupplungshebel

Hebel (B) nach rechts und dann nach unten
drücken, um die Kupplung einzurücken. Kupplung
ausrücken: Hebel nach oben ziehen und in den
Führungsschlitz am oberen Ende einschieben.
Anlaßschalter (D Abb. 3)
Nach rechts drehen, um den Motor anzulassen,
nach links drehen, um ihn abzustellen.
Lufklappenhebel (Abb. 4)
Hebel (A) auf der rechten Seite des Vergasers
dient zur Betätigung der Luftklappe und sollte dann
verwendet werden, wenn der Motor kalt ist. Sobald
sich der Motor erwärmt, Luftklappe wieder in
Normalstellung bringen (nach hinten weisend).

Kraftstoffhahn und Filtertopf
Zum Aufdrehen des Hahns (C Abb. 4) Hebel
senkrecht nach unten drehen. Der Hahn ist ‘zu’,
wenn der Hebel waagerecht steht. Am Glastopf (B
Abb. 4) unterhalb des Tanks läßt sich erkennen,
ob beim Aufdrehen des Hahns Benzin vorhanden
ist.
Übertragungssperre (A Abb.5)
Wenn der OPC gelöst ist, vermindert sich die
Geschwindigkeit der Maschine zu einem
langsamen Leerlauf, sodass die Fliehkraftkupplung
gleiten kann. Der OPC wird automatisch in dieser
Position festgestellt. Um den Schneidevorgang
oder den Transport wiederaufzunehmen, lösen Sie
die Übertragungssperre, indem Sie den Knopf aus
dem Mittelpaneel des Handlaufs ziehen, entweder
„Schneiden” oder „Transport” wählen und den
OPC in Richtung Handlauf nach oben ziehen.
STOPPSCHALTER (B, ABB. 5)
Der Stoppschalter kann verwendet werden, um die
Maschine in gefährlichen Situationen anzuhalten.
Um ihn rückzusetzen, den Zündschlüssel auf AUS
drehen und den Stoppschalter zurückdrehen.

Eine ebene Fläche zum Aufstellen wählen.
Öleinfüllschraube (B Abb. 6) abnehmen und
Ölsumpf mit empfohlenem Motoröl bis zum
unteren Ende des Gewindes am Ölmeßstab
(Höchststand) der Öleinfüllschraube füllen.
Inhalt 0,9 l.
HINWEIS: Zur Erzielung einer korrekten Anzeige
Einfüllschraube einsetzen und wiederum
abnehmen. Wenn der korrekte Ölstand erreicht ist,
Meßstab/Einfüllschraube wieder einsetzen.
2.
Schrauben an der Abdeckung über Getriebe
und Kupplungswelle (zwei auf jeder Seite)
lösen und Abdeckung abnehmen.
Einfüllschraube am Getriebekasten (A Abb.
7) abnehmen und bis zur Markierung am
geraden Meßstab (wird mitgeliefert) mit
Getriebeöl SAE50 füllen. Nach Erreichen
des korrekten Ölstands Einfüllschraube
wieder einschrauben. Inhalt 2,4 l.

Einfüllschraube am Mittelstück der
Landwalze in eine Position zwischen
hinterem Motorträger und Querstrebe des
Hauptrahmens bringen. Einfüllschraube
abnehmen (Abb. 8) und Landwalze bis zur
Markierung am gekröpften Meßstab (wird
mitgeliefert) mit Öl SAE50 füllen. Nach
Erreichen des korrekten Ölstands
Einfüllschraube wieder einschrauben. Inhalt
0,28 l.

Elektrostarter (Abb. 9)
Betätigen Sie die Bremse. Anlaßschalter
(A) zunächst nach rechts in die erste
Stellung, dann weiter nach rechts in die
Anlaßstellung drehen. Motor springt an. Ist
dies innerhalb von 10 Sekunden nicht der
Fall, weitere 30 Sekunden warten, dann den
Versuch wiederholen.
HINWEIS: Der Anlaßschalter kehrt, wenn er
losgelassen wird, automatisch aus der
Anlaßstellung in die Laufstellung zurück. Schalter
NICHT auf ‘Aus’ stellen, da dadurch der Motor
ausgeschaltet wird. Der Schalter funktioniert wie
ein Sicherheitsausschalter.

ACHTUNG: Das Starterseil darf nicht schnell
zurücklaufen. Es muß langsam und kontrolliert
zurücklaufen, damit es nicht reißt oder auf andere
Weise beschädigt wird.
Gerissene Seile müssen ausgewechselt - NICHT
REPARIERT werden.
Vor dem Anlassen des Motors sollten folgende
Prüfungen bzw. Einstellungen durchgeführt
werden:

WARNUNG
Falls ein Schleppsitz vorhanden
ist, wenden Sie ihn immer bei
niedriger Geschwindigkeit und
stellen Sie sicher, dass sich der
Schleppsitz nicht querstellt.
Rückholstarter (Abb. 10)
Rückholstartergriff (A) langsam ziehen, bis
Widerstand spürbar ist. Solange weiter
ziehen, bis der Widerstand aufhört.
Seil langsam zurücklaufen lassen, dann
Griff schnell anziehen, Motor springt an.
Wird diese Anweisung nicht befolgt, kann
das Seil reißen, falls der Motor rückzündet.

Achten Sie darauf, dass der Zylinder und die
Antriebskupplungen der Kontaktwalze gelöst
sind und die Bremse betätigt wurde.
Kraftstoffhahn durch Drehen des Hebels
senkrecht nach unten aufdrehen.
Luftklappenhebel (A Abb. 11) nach rechts
schieben, um einen Kaltstart vorzunehmen.
HINWEIS: Luftklappe NICHT verwenden, wenn
der Motor noch warm ist.

Nachprüfen, daß der Anlaßschalter in die
erste Stellung gedreht wurde. Gilt nur für
Rückholstarter.
Motor warm laufen lassen, bevor die
Luftklappe in die Laufstellung zurückgesetzt
wird.

TRANSPORT

Vorderteil des Mähers mit dem Hubhebel (A Abb.
13) anheben, um das Schneidwerk vom Boden
abzuheben. Um den Mäher in dieser Stellung zu
arretieren, kann die Hakenplatte (A Abb. 14) an
der Griffstangeneinheit unter die fußbetätigte
Sperre (B Abb. 14) am Sitzrahmen geschoben
werden.

Maschine derart aufstellen, daß die
Einfüllschraube (Abb. 8) an der Landwalze
zwischen dem hinteren Motorträger und der
Chassis-Querstrebe liegt und sichtbar ist. In
dieser Lage steht der gekröpfte Füllmeßstab
im korrekten Winkel.
Kopf der Einfüllschraube und Umgebung
säubern und Schraube entfernen.
Ölstand mit gekröpften Ölmeßstab (gehört
zum Lieferumfang) überprüfen.
Wie erforderlich bis zur angegebenen Höhe
am Meßstab mit SAE50 Öl auffüllen.

Schrauben Sie die Flügelmutter (A) ab und
entfernen Sie die Abdeckung.
Entfernen Sie das Schaumstoffteil und
reinigen Sie es in Paraffin (Kerosin). Lassen
Sie es vollkommen trocknen und tauchen
Sie es in neues Motorenöl. Winden Sie es
aus, um überschüssiges Öl zu entfernen.
Befreien Sie Filtergehäuse und –platte von
Staub.
Setzen Sie Platte und Schaumstoffelement
wieder zusammen und befestigen Sie die
Abdeckung wieder in ihrer Position (A).
HINWEIS: Ein beschädigtes Schaumstoffelement
muß unbedingt ausgewechselt werden. Wenn das
Gerät trotz verschmutztem Luftreiniger weiterhin
benutzt wird, ist mit schwerem Motorschaden zu
rechnen.
ACHTUNG: Bei Einsatz in staubiger Umgebung
häufiger warten.

Zündkerze

Zündkerze herausnehmen und Zustand prüfen.
Ein leichter grauer oder brauner Belag zeigt an,
daß sie in gutem Zustand ist. Ein weißer blasiger
Belag kann Überhitzung bedeuten. Wenn der
Belag schwarz ist (Kohle), stimmt entweder das
Kraftstoffgemisch nicht (zu fett) oder der Vergaser
ist falsch eingestellt.
Versuchen Sie nicht, eine schlechte Zündkerze
sandzustrahlen oder mit einer Drahtbürste oder
sonstigen Mitteln zu reinigen. Das Beste ist, eine
neue Zündkerze einzusetzen. Der Zündspalt sollte
auf 0,95mm eingestellt werden und ist ggf.
nachzustellen.

EINSTELLARBEITEN
Lesen Sie die Sicherheitshinweise
EINSTELLUNG DER SCHNITTHÖHE
Die Schnitthöhe wird durch die Position der
Vorderwalzen im Verhältnis zum Untermesser
bestimmt. Änderungen an dieser Einstellung
erfolgen über die Vorderwalze.

Die Schrauben (Abb. 32), mit denen die
Vorderwalzenhalterungen an beiden Seiten
der Maschine befestigt sind, lockern.
Walze auf die gewünschte Höhe einstellen d.h. Walze senken, um die Schnitthöhe zu
erhöhen bzw. anheben, um die Schnitthöhe
zu reduzieren. Darauf achten, daß die
Einstellung auf beiden Seiten der Maschine
gleich ist.
Schrauben anziehen.
HINWEIS: Die Vorderwalze darf nie so eingestellt
werden, daß das Untermesser auf die Grasnarbe
drückt. Dies führt zur Beschädigung der
Spiralschneiden, des Untermessers und der
Grasnarbe.

Handgriff (nur für Fußgängermaschine)
Die Höhe des Handgriffs kann nach Bedarf des
Bedieners eingestellt werden. Klappen Sie den
Handgriff immer hoch, wenn sie den Schleppsitz
befestigen oder nutzen, damit genügend Freiraum
für die Beine über welligem Grund bleibt.

EINSTELLUNG SCHNEIDWERK ZU
UNTERMESSER
Die korrekte Einstellung dieses Verhältnisses wird
wie folgt geprüft: Gerät nach hinten kippen, ein
dünnes Blatt Papier zwischen Messerkante und
Spiralschneiden halten und Schneidwerk von
Hand drehen.

Die Einstellung stimmt, wenn das Papier auf der
ganzen Breite des Untermessers sauber
durchgeschnitten wird. Andernfalls ist Nachstellen
erforderlich. NICHT ZU FEST ZIEHEN.
Um die Einstellung zu verändern,
Justierschrauben (Abb. 34) nach rechts drehen,
um den Zylinder näher an das Messer
heranzubringen.
Es wird empfohlen, jede Schraube jeweils im
Wechsel um eine Achteldrehung weiterzudrehen
und so lange die Papierprobe zu machen, bis die
korrekte Einstellung erreicht ist.

GRASLEITBLECH
Wenn der Fangkorb das geschnittene Gras nicht
richtig aufnimmt, muß das Leitblech wie folgt
justiert werden:

Die beiden Stellschrauben (Abb. 35) an
jeder Seite lösen, mit denen das Leitblech
am Seitenrahmen befestigt ist.
Die Lage des Leitblechs solange
nachrichten, bis zwischen Leitblech und
Schneidwerk (gemessen möglichst bis zur
Mittelachse des Zylinders) ein Abstand von
ca. 1,5mm verbleibt.
Das Leitblech muß korrekt mit der
Unterkante des Unterblocks fluchten, bevor
die Stellschrauben wieder festgezogen
werden.
HINWEIS: Das Leitblech darf das Schneidwerk
nicht berühren.
NACHSTELLEN DER KETTEN

Manuelle Einstellung
Die Antriebsketten sind korrekt eingestellt, wenn
sie beide in allen Lagen etwas Durchhang haben.

Kettengehäuse abnehmen.
Spannung der Kette prüfen. Sie darf keine
gespannten Stellen aufweisen.
Wenn sie nachgestellt werden muß, Mutter
(A) lockern und Ritzel (B) gegen die Kette
drücken, bis die Spannung stimmt.
Mutter wieder festziehen.
Wenn eine Kette einmal abgenommen werden
muß, ist beim Wiedereinsetzen darauf achten, daß
der Spalt in der Federklammer von der
Drehrichtung wegzeigt.
Automatische Einstellung
Selbsteinstellende Kettenspanner bedürfen keiner
Einstellung (Abb. 36A)

BREMSE

Die Bremse muß angezogen werden, bevor die
BAS ganz gelöst wird. Falls Einstellungen
notwendig sind:

Lockern Sie die Sicherungsmutter (A).
Drehen Sie die Stellschraube (B) entgegen
dem Uhrzeigersinn.
Ziehen Sie die Sicherungsmutter wieder an.
Stellen Sie sicher, daß nach der Einstellung etwas
Spielraum der BAS vorhanden ist, damit die
Bremsschuhe nicht an der Landwalze reiben,
wenn die Bremse gelöst ist.

KUPPLUNGSKONTROLLEN
Die Kupplungskontrollen wurden genauestens
eingestellt. Sollten Nachstellungen erforderlich
sein, setzen Sie sich mit Ihrem Kundendienst in
Verbindung.
AUSBAU DES SCHNEIDWERKS UND
UNTERMESSERS (Abb. 38)

Kettenkasten und SchneidwerkAntriebskette entfernen.

Jetzt kann die gesamte Schneideinheit
herausgenommen werden. Beim Zusammenbau in
umgekehrter Reihenfolge vorgehen.
AUSBAU DER LANDWALZE (Abb. 38)

Keile als Stütze unter die Seitenrahmen
schieben.

Kettenabdeckung und LandwalzeAntriebskette abnehmen.
3.
Bremskabel abmontieren. Hierzu Splint und
Stift entfernen, die das untere Kabelende mit
dem Bremshebel verbinden.
4.
Die Schrauben entfernen, mit denen die
Landwalze-Lagergehäuse (D) auf beiden
Seiten am Gerät befestigt sind.

Jetzt liegt die Landwalze frei. Beim Zusammenbau
in umgekehrter Reihenfolge vorgehen.
GLEICHGEWICHTSSTANGE (Nur Geräte ohne
Sitz)
Wenn die Maschine ohne den Grasfangkorb
benutzt wird (Abb. 39), muß die am unteren Ende
der Griffstange befestigte Gleichgewichtsstange
von dort entfernt und an den Armen des
Grasfangkorbs befestigt werden.

Der Sitz kann vor- oder zurückverschoben werden.

LENKKONTROLLKABEL (Abb. 41)
Das Kabel sollte gespannt, aber nicht zu fest
angezogen sein. Hierzu sind die
Justiervorrichtungen (A) hinten am Gerät zu
benutzen.
Wenn eine Nachstellung erforderlich ist,
Sicherungsmuttern (B) nach Bedarf anziehen oder
lockern. Obwohl das Kabel auf der ganzen Länge
gespannt sein sollte, ist beim Nachstellen darauf
zu achten, daß das Verhältnis zwischen
Griffstange und Hinterwalze nicht gestört wird, d.h.
wenn die Griffstange korrekt mit der Maschine
fluchtet, muß die Hinterwalze gerade vorwärts
rollen.

Geben Sie dem Motor etwa 20 Minuten Zeit
zum Aufwärmen und schalten Sie ihn dann
ab.
Ziehen Sie die Führungsschraube (C) des
Vergasers vollständig an und lösen Sie sie
dann um 1,25 Umdrehungen.
Schalten Sie den Motor ein, stellen Sie den
Steuerhebel (G) auf die niedrigste
Geschwindigkeitsstufe und stellen Sie dann
die Geschwindigkeit des Motors mittels der
Einstellschraube der Drosselvorrichtung (B)
des Vergasers ein, sodass der Motor die
Mindestgeschwindigkeit aufrecht erhält.
Ziehen Sie die Führungsschraube (C) an
oder lösen Sie sie, um den Motor auf
Höchstgeschwindigkeit einzustellen (die
Geschwindigkeit lässt nach, wenn die
Schraube zu weit in eine der beiden
Richtungen gedreht wird).
Schrauben Sie die Einstellschraube der
Drosselvorrichtung (B) ein und achten Sie
darauf, dass die Schraubenspitze das
Drosselventil (A) berührt, bis der Motor eine
Geschwindigkeit zwischen 1100 und 1300
U/min erreicht. Dies ist gleichwertig mit
zwischen 550 und 650 U/min an der
Abtriebswelle.
Schrauben Sie die ungenutzte Schraube (E)
des Geschwindigkeitssteuerungspaneels
(D) ein, bis die Geschwindigkeit 1600 U/min
erreicht. Dies ist gleichwertig mit 800 U/min
an der Abtriebswelle.
ZUBEHÖRTEILE
Anhängesitz (für Mäher ohne Sitz)
Nach Bedarf kann an diese Mäher ein Sitz mit
einstellbarer Zugstangenlänge angehängt werden.
Zum Anhängen dient eine Einstiftkupplung.
SEITENWALZEN
Die Vorderseite kann entfernt und zum Schneiden
von längerem Gras durch Seitenwalzen ersetzt
werden.
GRASFANGKORB ZUM KIPPEN
Nach Bedarf kann ein Kippkorb befestigt werden,
der anstelle des selbstentleerenden Korbs (in
Abbildung 1 dargestellt) befestigt wird.

LAGERUNG
Maschine gründlich von allen Seiten reinigen, um
Grasrückstände und Schmutz zu entfernen.
Schneidwerk einige Male drehen, um die
Schneidkanten su säubern.
Alle Schneiden mit etwas Öl einpinseln, damit sie
nicht rosten.
Kraftstofftank entleeren und Kraftstoffhahn
zudrehen.
Motor solange laufen lassen, bis der im Vergaser
verbliebene Kraftstoff aufgebraucht ist, Filtertopf
und Hahn reinigen. Kurbelkasten bei noch
warmem Motor entleeren und mit frischem Motoröl
füllen. Zündkerze entfernen und ca. 50 cc
korrosionshemmendes Öl einfüllen. Motor ein paar
Mal von Hand umdrehen, damit das Öl die
Zylinderwandungen bedeckt. Zündkerze wieder
einsetzen. Motor langsam umdrehen, bis
Widerstand zu spüren ist. Das bedeutet, daß beide
Ventile vollständig geschlossen sind und keine
Feuchtigkeit eindringen kann. Motor zudecken.
Alle Drehgelenkpunkte, Justierschrauben und
Antriebsketten ölen.
ALLGEMEINE
RATSCHLÄGE
Nach den ersten wenigen Betriebsstunden sollte
das Gerät überprüft werden, um sicherzustellen,
daß sich keine Schrauben oder Muttern gelöst
haben. Bevor mit dem Mähen begonnen wird,
sicherstellen, daß sich keine Steine usw. im zu
mähenden Bereich befinden, da diese das
Schneidwerk beschädigen können.
Mäher nicht wegstellen, ohne vorher den
Grasfangkorb zu entleeren.

BEHEBUNG KLEINERER STÖRUNGEN
STÖRUNG
ABHILFE
Schnittgrashöhe ungleichmäßig über ganze Schnittbreite
Untermesser.
Vorderwalzen nicht parallel zum
Einstellung gemäß den Anweisungen auf
Seite 39 korrigieren.
Unregelmäßiger Schnitt - Wellen- oder Büschelbildung.
Ausrichtung des Schneidwerks stimmt nicht,
wahrscheinlich ist der Mäher auf ein
Hindernis gestoßen. Rufen Sie Ihren lokalen
Kundendienst an.
Gras reißt ab anstatt gleichmäßiger Schnitt.
Schneidwerk-zu-Untermesser-Verhältnis
muß nachgestellt werden. Siehe Seite 39.
Wird trotzdem kein sauberer Schnitt erzielt,
müssen die Schneiden geschärft werden.
Rufen Sie Ihren lokalen Kundendienst an.
Gras wird total entfernt, Maschine quält sich.
Untermesser zu niedrig.
Schnitthöhe höher stellen. Siehe Seite 39.
Motor läuft auf hohen Touren, Mäher bewegt sich
nur ganz langsam vorwärts.
Hindernis
Schneidzylinder ist evtl. auf ein Hindernis
jedoch gestoßen. Motor abstellen und
entfernen. Wurde kein Hindernis gefunden,
ist möglich, daß die Kupplung rutscht. Rufen
SieIhren lokalen Kundendienst an.
Schlechte Fangleistung
Einstellung des Grasleitblechs verändern,

Verarbeitungsfehler in den Waren auftreten sollten, gilt die folgende GARANTIE.
Ausgenommen von dieser Garantie sind Aerifiziererprodukte, die für einen Zeitraum von
ZWEI JAHREN oder fünfhundert Stunden (für Modelle mit Betriebsstundenzählern), je
nachdem was eher eintritt, garantiert werden.
Wir werden nach unserer Wahl das defekte Teil reparieren oder ersetzen, ohne Material
und Arbeit zu berechnen, wenn der Anspruch unter dieser Garantie über einen
Vertragshändler gestellt wird; und das defekte Teil, wenn wir dies wünschen, an uns
oder den Händler zurückgegeben wird.
Diese Garantie gilt neben den für im Vereinigten Königreich verkaufte Produkte
geltenden gesetzlichen Garantiebestimmungen. Ausgenommen sind Waren aus zweiter
Hand oder Defekte, die unserer Meinung nach - in welchem Ausmaß und auf welche Art
und Weise auch immer - auf unsachgemäßen Gebrauch, unzureichende Pflege und
Wartung oder normale Abnutzungserscheinungen bzw. auf den Einbau von Ersatz-,
Neu- oder Zusatzteilen, die weder von uns hergestellt noch für den jeweiligen Zweck
empfohlen werden, zurückzuführen sind. Bei Verwendung eines nicht von uns
empfohlenen Öls oder Schmiermittels verfällt diese Garantie.
Transportschäden oder normale Abnutzungserscheinungen sind nicht Gegenstand
dieser Garantie.
Die Garantie gilt nur für den Erstkäufer und kann nicht auf spätere Eigentümer
übertragen werden. Der Garantiezeitraum beginnt an dem Datum, an dem das Produkt
an den Endbenutzer (Kunden) ausgeliefert wird, wenn nichts anderes mit dem Hersteller
vereinbart wird. Nach einem Jahr muss der Eigentümer das Produkt durch einen
Vertragshändler warten lassen, um sich für das zweite Garantiejahr zu qualifizieren.
