Young dancers, musicians from different musical
genres, culture, and musical passion put their
ideas together to make up a new kind of world
music, where they can fully and freely express
themselves with African music as a leitmotif.
Being an authentic mix of soul, African rumba,
classical music, afro-beat and jazz, the group
Diversité creates with new energy and
imagination the show »Nomvula«.
»Nomvula« means »after the rain«.
As a combination of dance and music, the show
»Nomvula« pays tribute to the extraordinary
cultural diversity of Africa and to our world as a
whole. An entertaining spectacular show for
people of all ages and education levels.
This is a show where joy, cheerfulness and
expression are the sole masters on stage.
We hope that the inexpugnable vitality and
dynamism that irradiate the highly talented
artists will inspire you, too, and that you will
leave with a joyful heart at the end of the

Schuhplatteln »
A body dialogue with a mixture of Gumboot
dance (African dance which used to be practiced
by the South African Black miners to communicate) and the Schuhplatteln dance (traditional
Bavarian dance, South of Germany).
The similarity of these two kinds of dancing is so
fascinating that it was important for us to
mix these dances together as a starting point to
present the idea of »Unity in Diversity«.

Ein Körperdialog mit einer Mischung aus
Gumboot Dance (afrikanischer Tanz, der früher
von den südafrikanischen schwarzen Bergleuten
zur Kommunikation benutzt wurde) und
Schuhplatteln (bayerischer Tanz).
Die Ähnlichkeit dieser beiden Tänze ist so
faszinierend, dass es für uns wichtig war, diese
Tänze als Ausgangspunkt zu nehmen, um der
Idee der »Einheit in der Vielfalt« nachzugehen.

Rumba »
This song is a standard of Congolese rumba.
The accompanying dance is a mixture of
Ndombole dance and rumba, both from Congo.
The singer says that when he arrived in Europe,
he could not take with him the Whole of
Africa: he could only bring its music, with which
he presents and represents his homeland.

Rumba. Der Tanz, der begleitet wird, ist eine
Mischung aus Ndombole-Tanz und Rumba, beide
stammen aus dem Kongo.

This dance is a dance of balance, beauty and
aesthetics of the body. It pays tribute to all
women of the world, more especially to the
African woman.
The woman in the village carries water or
firewood on the head, her baby on her back. On
her way to the village, she sings, with an elegant
walk, her face beaming with joy. A tribute to the
woman as the pillar of our society.
La femme au village transporte de l‘eau ou du
bois sur la tête, son bébé sur le dos. Sur le
chemin du village, elle chante, avec une démarche
élégante, son visage rayonnant de joie.
Un hommage à la femme, pilier de notre société.

Zaouli dances (dances from Ivory Coast).

den Kindersoldaten Mitleid und wünscht sich
Frieden. Der Krieg wird enden, denkt das Kind.
