CATC operates The Bus, a fixed route transit system
with 6 routes throughout the city. Buses run their circuit
once an hour, offering folks a chance to commute
from one end of town to the other, including the
surrounding communities of Paradise Valley, Mills
and Evansville. Hours of service are 6:30 A.M. to
6:30 P.M. Monday through Friday, except on major
holidays. Fares range between $.50 for the elderly
and disabled to $1 for adults and youth. Children 5
and under ride free. CATC also provides a dial-a-ride
service, provided reservations are made by 3 P.M. the
previous day. Dial-a-ride service is provided MondayFriday from 7 A.M to 5:15 P.M. Costs are $2 for the
elderly/disabled, $5 for the general public and $1 for
children under 12 accompanied by an adult.

the western horizon, the night is just beginning at
Casper’s clubs, bars and restaurants!
Casper has 17 movie screens, with many auditoriums
featuring stadium seating, giant screens, 3-D
presentation and the best in digital sound quality.
Catch an art house release at the Rialto Theatre
or check out the largest screen in Wyoming at the
America Stadium Theatre.
Other favorite haunts include the Pump Room

This 200-acre area is the only area opened for
unlimited Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) use in the Casper
area. Once used as a bentonite mine, it was set aside
after reclamation expressly for OHV recreation. Visitors
to the park are allowed to drive all types of OHVs
within the park boundaries both on and off existing
trails. The track is open during daylight hours. ATV

Whether you prefer cruising along by mountain bike or
roaming about on foot, you will satisfy your wanderlust
on Casper Mountain.
Rotary Park, located just south of town at the base
of the mountain, is home to popular Garden Creek
Falls. The 4.5 mile Bridle Trail winds around the park,
offering spectacular views of the city below, as well
as the waterfall and surrounding scenery. The park is
equipped with grills and fire pits, so pack some burgers,
beverages and hot dogs to satisfy your appetite after
an excursion through the fresh air.
A bit further up the mountain is the Lee McCune Braille
Trail. The sight-impaired and seeing alike will enjoy
the great outdoors on this unique trail that includes
interpretive plaques, braille imprints and ropes for
guidance.
Continuing up the main road you will come to
Beartrap Meadow. There are camping areas nearby,
as well as several shelters available to rent. It is also the
trailhead for many hiking and biking loops that traverse
the area. The Beartrap Summer Festival is held there
every August, a celebration of bluegrass music, great
food and eclectic vendors.
Other popular mountain sites are Adams Memorial
Archery Range and Crimson Dawn Park & Museum.
Less traveled is Ponderosa Park, located on the East
side of the mountain. Though there are restrooms and

a bit of shelter, this more primitive area is a great place
for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Coal Mountain,
on the West end of the mountain is not only good for
all the aforementioned activities, it also offers shooting
areas for target practice.
Traveling South across Casper Mountain brings you
to Muddy Mountain and its Environmental Education
Area. Here, the Interpretive Nature Center connects
Rim and Lodgepole Campground, both wheelchair
accessible. The trail includes interpretive signs, two
overlooks and an abundance of wildlife.
For those in love with the winter months, Hogadon Ski
Area offers something for skiers and snowboarders
at every level - there is even a terrain park for more
adventurous riders. If Nordic skiing is more your style,
the Casper Nordic Center has 42 kilometers (26 miles!)
