Cluster+ Modul 125 x 125 mm, Stärke 2 mm, bestehend aus Platinenmaterial in weiß oder schwarz,

Cluster+ module 125 x 125 mm, strength 2 mm,
consisting of conductor boards in black or white,
fitted with either 4 LEDs in the light color 3000 K
including lenses to focus the light (36°) or 1 OLED.
The LED-modules are dimmable and have an output of 282 lm. When combining LED with OLED,
the LED modules can be dimmed independently
from the OLED modules. The light direction of the
LED elements can be ajusted into uplight or downlight, 230/sec. 24 volts. 125 volts upon request.
Cluster+ ist ein System. Es kann nach dem Baukastenprinzip variabel zusammengesetzt werden und
besteht hauptsächlich aus drei bis vier Komponenten: dem Trägermaterial (Leiterplatten), Verbindern, dem OLED Modul und/oder LED-Modul.
Mit Cluster+ werden die beiden zukunftsträchtigen
Leuchtmittel OLED und LED mit ihren jeweiligen Vorteilen genutzt und in einem System ideal
vereint. Die LED konzentriert ihre Lichtleistung auf
einen winzigen Punkt; bei der OLED-Technologie
werden ganze Flächen zum Leuchten gebracht.
Daraus ergeben sich vielfältige Einsatzmöglichkeiten. Während man bei den LEDs durch den Einsatz
von lichtbündelnden Linsen zielgerichtetes Licht
auf einer Fläche erzeugen kann, ist die OLED eher
dazu geeignet, ein gleichmäßiges Grundlicht im
Raum zu verteilen.
Wir bieten fertige Leuchtensets an; zusätzlich hat
der Kunde die Möglichkeit, seine Leuchte nach
eigenen Bedürfnissen individuell zu gestalten.
Cluster+ is a modular system. It can be variably
assembled and is made up of three to four main
components: the supporting material (conductor
boards), connectors, and the OLED module and/
or LED module. With Cluster+ the two seminal illuminants‘ respective advantages are being used and
ideally united in a single system. Their respective
lighting effects are very different from each other:
the LED concentrates its light output in a minute
point, the OLED lights up whole surfaces. This of
course makes for a multitude of application possibilities. While – using lenses to focus the light – one
can generate directed light on a surface with the
LED, the OLED is better suited to fill a room with
primary lighting, smooth and even.
We will offer pre-assembled lights. However, lights
can also be planned according to one‘s individual
request.
A patent for Cluster+ has been filed.

Cluster+ est un système modulaire. Il peut être

agents lumineux prometteurs, idéalement réunis
en un seul système. Les LED concentrent leur
puissance lumineuse en un minuscule point; avec la
technologie OLED, des surfaces entières s’éclairent.
Ceci permet bien sûr des applications multiples.
Tandis qu’avec les LED – par l’utilisation de lentilles
concentrant la lumière – l’on peut générer sur une
surface une lumière dirigée, les OLED, elles, sont
plutôt conçues pour remplir une pièce d’une lumière primaire homogène.
Nous offrons des sets de lampes finis; toutefois,
nous donnons au client la possibilité de créer sa
lampe individuellement, selon ses propres besoins.
Une demande de brevet a été déposée pour
Cluster+.

Cluster+ è un sistema. Può essere assemblato a piacere secondo il principio di costruzione modulare
ed è costituito principalmente da tre o quattro componenti: la struttura portante (piastre conduttrici),

Cluster+ è in grado di sfruttare tutti i vantaggi di

luminoso in un punto minuscolo; con la tecnologia
OLED vengono illuminate intere superfici. In tal
modo si creano molteplici possibilità di impiego.
Mentre con i LED si può generare luce mirata
su una superficie mediante l’impiego di lenti che
concentrano la luce, l’OLED è invece più adatto a
distribuire nella stanza un’illuminazione di base
uniforme. Offriamo set di luci assemblati; inoltre il
cliente ha anche la possibilità di assemblare individualmente le luci secondo le sue esigenze.
Per Cluster+ è stata depositata la domanda di
brevetto.

Der Triumphzug der OLED hat gerade
erst begonnen. Noch werden diese neuen
Leuchtmittel in winzigen Mengen produziert,
was den hohen Preis erklärt. Jedoch geht die
Verbesserung und Entwicklung der OLED
in puncto Lichtleistung, Lebensdauer und
Lichtfarbe in großen Schritten vorwärts.
Voraussichtlich im Frühling 2012 wird
OSRAM die erste OLED-Fabrik in Deutschland in Betrieb nehmen.
Um Ihnen die Möglichkeit zu geben, eine
der ersten OLED-Leuchten zu einem
erschwinglichen Preis zu erwerben, bieten
wir – „powered by Osram“ – eine Sonderanfertigung von Cluster Table in limitierter
Auflage an. Anders als die Serienleuchte ist
diese Tischlampe sozusagen eine „Lady in
Black“. Nicht nur das Platinenmaterial ist
schwarz, auch Arm und Fuß sind schwarz
pulverbeschichtet. Alle Leuchten werden
handsigniert und erhalten eine Kennzeichnung von 1-50.

OSRAM expects to start up the first OLED
factory in Germany in the spring of 2012.
In order to give you a chance to get one of the
first OLED luminaires at a reasonable price, we
now offer a special limited edition of Cluster
Table – “powered by OSRAM”. Unlike the
mass-produced luminaire, this table lamp is
something of a “Lady in Black”. Not only the
circuit board material is black, but also the arm
and the base are made of black powder-coated
metal. Each lamp will be signed by hand and
numbered consecutively from 1-50.

Project Stemmer Imaging
Im Rahmen einer Modernisierung der Firmenräume
durch den Architekten Andreas Hartl und die
Innenarchitektin Edda Reisinger bat uns die Firma
STEMMER IMAGING ein Lichtkonzept für die neu
gestaltete Eingangshalle und das circa 13 m hohe
Treppenauge des Firmensitzes in Puchheim zu
entwerfen. Die Lichtskulptur sollte das Image und
das enorme technische Know-how der Firma
STEMMER IMAGING widerspiegeln. Cluster+ mit
seinen vielfältigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten schien mir
für die Umsetzung meiner Idee ideal. Die Lichtskulptur sollte ein Zentrum bilden, das sich von
unten bis oben durchs Treppenauge zieht, die Etagen
miteinander verbindend. 100 Cluster-Module wurden
an 100 Seilen im Treppenauge in unterschiedlichen
Höhen positioniert, die Seile durch lange, schlanke
Gewichte gespannt. Den Abschluss am Dach bildet
eine schwarz eloxierte Aluminiumplatte. Bei der
Anordnung der Module haben wir auf eine
Gegenbewegung zur vorhandenen Laufrichtung der
Treppe geachtet. Die Idee des Auf- und Absteigens
wird durch diese Struktur symbolisiert. Aus der Ferne
betrachtet scheinen die einzelnen Cluster zu schweben.
Bei 100 Cluster-Modulen erreicht die Lichtinstallation 28000 lm bei 600 W. Die einzelnen Module mit
unterschiedlicher Lichtrichtung werden mit einem
Zufallsgenerator geschaltet, unter Berücksichtigung
der Tages- und Jahreszeiten. Durch diesen an das
Tageslicht angepassten, sehr langsamen Wechsel
erreichen wir unterschiedliche Lichtstimmungen.
Um bei eventuell anfallenden Wartungsarbeiten
jedes einzelne Cluster-Modul erreichen zu können,
ist die Lichtinstallation mithilfe eines Elektromotors drehbar.
Dans le cadre d’une modernisation de ses bureaux
par l’architecte Andreas Hartl et l’architecte
d’intérieur Edda Reisinger, l’entreprise STEMMER
IMAGING nous demanda de développer un
concept d’éclairage pour le hall d’entrée modifié et
la cage d’escalier, haute d’environ 13 m, du siège
social de Puchheim. La sculpture de lumière devait
refléter l’image et l’énorme savoir-faire technique de
l’ entreprise STEMMER IMAGING. Cluster+, avec
ses multiples possibilités d’application, m’apparut
idéal pour la réalisation de mon idée. La sculpture
de lumière devait créer un centre s’ étendant dans
toute la cage d’ escalier, reliant ainsi les étages les
uns aux autres. 100 modules Cluster furent
positionnés sur 100 câbles à des hauteurs
différentes dans la cage d’ escalier; les câbles, eux,
étant tendus par de longs poids étroits. Une plaque
d’aluminium anodisée noire au plafond achève
l’œuvre. Lors du positionnement des modules, nous
avons veillé à un mouvement opposé au sens de
rotation de l’ escalier. Cette structure symbolise
l’idée de montée et de descente. Avec du recul, les
modules Cluster semblent flotter.
Avec 100 modules Cluster, l’installation de lumière
atteint 28000 lm pour 600 W. Chaque module, avec
une direction d’éclairage différente, est commandé
séparément par un générateur aléatoire, tenant
compte de l’heure de la journée et des saisons. Par
ce changement très lent, adapté à la lumière du jour,
nous obtenons des ambiances de lumières
différentes. Dans le cas d’éventuels travaux de
maintenance, l’installation de lumière peut être
pivotée grâce à un moteur électrique, pour pouvoir
accéder à chacun des modules Cluster.

In the course of the modernization of the company‘s
offices by architect Andreas Hartl and interior designer
Edda Reisinger, STEMMER IMAGING asked us to
develop a lighting concept for the redesigned entrance
area and the stairwell (about 13 m in height) of their
headquarters in Puchheim. The light sculpture was to
reflect the image and the enormous technical
know-how of STEMMER IMAGING. Cluster+, with its
wide range of possible applications, seemed to be the
ideal choice to realize my idea. The light sculpture was
to create a center for the stairwell, all the way from the
ground floor to the ceiling, connecting the individual
floors with one another. 100 Clusters on 100 wires were
positioned in the stairwell, in different heights, with
long and slender weights giving tension to the wires.
The sculpture ends in a black, anodized aluminium
plate on the ceiling. In positioning the modules, we
took care to counter the direction of the staircase,
thus symbolizing the idea of ascending and
descending in the sculpture’s structure. Seen from
afar, the modules appear to float in the air.
With 100 Cluster modules, the installation reaches a
light output of 28000 lm at 600 watts. The individual
modules with different light directions are controlled
by a random generator, taking into account the time
of day and the seasons. With this very slow change,
adapted to the daylight conditions, we achieve
different lighting moods. In order to be able to easily
reach each of the modules if the need for maintenance
work should arise, the whole installation can be
rotated with the help of an electric motor.

In occasione dell’opera di modernizzazione della
sede aziendale a Puchheim, progettata dagli
architetti Edda Reisinger e Andreas Hartl, la
STEMMER IMAGING ci ha proposto di elaborare
un piano di illuminazione per l’ingresso e l’anima
della scala, alta circa 13 metri, da poco ristrutturati.
La scultura di luci intendeva rispecchiare
l’immagine e l’enorme know how tecnico
dell’azienda STEMMER IMAGING. Cluster+, con le
sue molteplici possibilità di impiego, mi è sembrata
la soluzione ideale per la realizzazione della mia
idea. La scultura di luci avrebbe formato un centro
che si estende per tutta l’anima della scala,
collegando i piani inferiori con quelli superiori. 100
moduli Cluster+ sono stati posizionati su 100 cavi
all’interno dell’anima della scala ad altezze
differenti; i cavi vengono tirati da lunghi pesi sottili.
Una lastra di alluminio anodizzata di colore nero
definisce la parte finale del soffitto. Per la
disposizione dei moduli abbiamo prestato
attenzione al movimento contrario del senso di
rotazione della scala. Questa struttura sta a
simbolizzare l’idea del salire e dello scendere. Da
lontano ogni singolo sistema luminoso Cluster+
sembra fluttuare nel vuoto.
Con 100 moduli Cluster l’impianto di illuminazione raggiunge i 28000 lumen con 600 watt. I singoli
moduli, con direzione luminosa differente, vengono
azionati da un generatore di numeri casuali che ha
come riferimento le ore della giornata e le stagioni.
In questo modo, adattandosi lentamente alla luce
del giorno, riusciamo ad ottenere diversi effetti di
luce. In caso di lavori di manutenzione l’impianto
di illuminazione può essere ruotato grazie a un
motore elettrico, al fine di poter raggiungere ogni
singolo modulo Cluster+.

Ausgangspunkt bei der Leuchte 1st Aid ist die
metallbedampfte Polyesterfolie eines Erste-HilfeKastens, die bewusst in Szene gesetzt wurde und
dieser Tischleuchte ihren Namen gab. Das Material ist formbar, leicht transluzent und trotz seiner
geringen Stärke äußerst robust. Die gold- und
silberfarbene Beschichtung spiegelt den größten
Teil des Lichts. Alle Komponenten dieser Leuchte
erfüllen eine Funktion und sind auf das absolut
Nötigste reduziert. Die LEDs mit ihren Kühlkörpern stehen sich frontal gegenüber, so dass sie
das Licht zueinander, statt, wie üblich, in den
Raum schicken. Die sich zwischen der Lichtquelle
befindende frei bewegliche Folie spiegelt jedoch
das Licht in den Raum. Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Bedampfung beider Seiten _ die eine Seite
ist silber- die andere goldfarben _ wird das Licht
unterschiedlich eingefärbt: es gibt eine “warme“
und eine “kühle“ Seite. Geschaltet wird sie mit Hilfe
einer Magnetkugel auf der Edelstahlgrundplatte.
Man hat die Wahl, die beiden Lichtquellen einzeln
oder gemeinsam zu schalten.

This lamp is built around a metal-coated polyester
foil taken from a first aid–kit. The foil is intentionally highlighted and the origin to the table
lamp‘s name. The material is mouldable, somewhat translucent, and extremely robust in spite of
its thinness. The silver and gold coating reflects
most of the light. Each of the lamp‘s components
fulfills a particular function and has been kept to
the absolute minimum. The two LEDs (and heat
sinks) are facing each other, thus projecting their
light at one another instead of into the room. The
foil, however, placed between the light sources and
completely flexible, reflects the light into the room.
The differently coated sides of the foil - one silver,
the other gold - give different coloring to the light
itself: there is, as it were, a “warm side“ and a “cool
side“. The lamp is controlled by a magnetic ball on
the stainless steel base. The two light sources can be
turned on separately or simultaneously.
With each sale of a 1stAid lamp, € 25 will go to the

de survie isothermique d’une boîte de secours, mise
volontairement en valeur et donnant le nom à cette
lampe de table. Ce matériau est malléable, légèrement translucide et malgré sa minceur, extrémement robuste. Le revêtement argenté et doré reflète
en grande partie la lumière. Tous les composants de
cette lampe ont une fonction propre et sont réduits
au strict minimum. Les LED munies de leurs
éléments réfrigérants se font face, s’éclairant les
unes les autres au lieu de projeter la lumière dans
la pièce, comme de coutume. La feuille située entre
les sources lumineuses, mobile à volonté, reflète,
elle, la lumière dans la pièce. En raison des deux
faces métallisées différentes, l’une argentée, l’autre
dorée, la lumière se colore de tons différents; il y a
pour ainsi dire un “côté chaud“ et un “côté froid“.
L’interrupteur de la lampe est une bille magnétique
située sur la plaque de base d’acier inoxydable. Il
est possible d’allumer les deux sources lumineuses
séparément ou simultanément.

nonostante lo spessore ridotto, è estremament resistente. Il rivestimento di colore oro e argento riflette
la maggior parte della luce. Tutti i componenti di
questa lampada adempiono una funzione e sono
ridotti assolutamente all’essenziale. I LED, con i
termodispersori, sono posti l’uno di fronte all’altro
in maniera tale da dirigere la luce verso i LED posti
frontalmente anziché nella stanza, come avviene di
solito. La pellicola mobile situata fra le due fonti luminose riflette tuttavia la luce nella stanza. Data la
differente vaporizzazione di entrambi i lati (un lato
è di colore argento, l’altro dorato), la luce acquisisce
colorazioni diverse: si potrebbe dire che ci sono un
“lato caldo” e un “lato freddo”. La lampada viene accesa per mezzo di una sfera magnetica posizionata
sul supporto di base in acciaio inossidabile. Si ha la
possibilità di accendere entrambe le fonti luminose
singolarmente o insieme.

Licht, Farbe und Raum sind die entscheidenden
Komponenten von kuk0 und kukI, die nicht nur
Wandleuchten, sondern vor allem Wandbilder
sind. Das verwendete Material, Plexiglas ‘Radiant‘ der Firma Evonik Röhm, spiegelt das Licht,
lässt es hindurch und spaltet es in sein Farbspektrum auf. Durch zwei sich gegenseitig spiegelnde
Radiantflächen und eine dazwischen angeordnete
Lichtquelle erzeugt die Leuchte einen virtuellen
unendlichen Raum in die Tiefe der Wand, der sich,
wie auch die Farben, je nach Betrachtungswinkel
verändert. Im unbeleuchteten Zustand und bei
frontaler Betrachtung erscheint die Leuchte als
spiegelnde Fläche. Ist die Leuchte eingeschaltet,
offenbart das Material seine Eigenschaften. Während die Grün- und Gelbanteile der Lichtquelle
reflektiert werden, scheinen die Rot- und Violettanteile durch das Material hindurch. Dies erklärt
den goldenen und grünen Schein um die Leuchte
auf der Wandfläche und, im Kontrast dazu, die
rot - violett leuchtende Materialfläche. Die Farben
der leuchtenden Flächen und des Leuchtmittels
sowie die Tiefe des virtuellen Raumes verändern
sich mit dem Betrachtungswinkel. Die beweglich
aufgehängte vordere Fläche ermöglicht eine Veränderung der Platten zueinander und damit eine
Veränderung des virtuellen Raumes.
Light, color and space are the essential ingredients
for kuk0 und kukI, which are not only wall lamps,
but veritable murals too! The ‚Radiant‘ plexiglass
material used here reflects the light, lets it pass and
disperses it into its full color spectrum. By placing
an illuminant between two radiant panels reflecting
each other, an infinite virtual space is created that
is reaching into the depths of the wall and, like the
colors themselves, is changing in relation to the
angle from which it is observed. A frontal view of
the fixture, before it is illuminated, makes it appear
to be a reflecting surface. Once the light is turned
on, however, the material reveals its more interesting characteristics. While the green and yellow
fractions of the light source are being reflected, the
red and purple ones pass right through. From this
springs the green and golden shimmer surrounding
the fixture on the wall, and, in contrast, the red
and violet glow of the material‘s surface. The colors
of glowing surfaces and illuminant, as well as the
virtual space‘s depth change as the observer moves
around the fixture. With the frontal plane being flexibly mounted, it is possible to modify the planes‘
position in respect to one another, and thus to alter
the virtual space.

une surface miroitante. Allumée, le matériau révèle
ses propriétés. Tandis que les couleurs vertes et
jaunes de la source lumineuse sont reflétées, les
couleurs rouges et violettes traversent le matériau.
Ceci explique la lueur dorée et verte sur le mur
autour de l’applique, et l’éclat contrastant rougeviolet de la surface du matériau. Les couleurs des
surfaces éclairantes et de l’agent lumineux, ainsi que
la profondeur de l’espace virtuel varient en fonction
de l’angle d’observation. La plaque supérieure
montée flexiblement permet une modification de
la position des plaques l’une par rapport à l’autre et
ainsi un changement de l’espace virtuel.

della parete che varia, come avviene anche per i
colori, in funzione dell’angolo di osservazione.
In uno stato di non illuminazione e osservandola
frontalmente appare come una superficie riflettente.
Quando è accesa il materiale rivela le sue proprietà.
Mentre le parti di color giallo-verde della sorgente
luminosa vengono riflesse, le parti rosso-violetto
vengono emesse attraverso il materiale. Questo
spiega il chiarore verde-dorato che circonda la
lampada sulla superficie della parete e, in contrasto
con questo, la superficie del materiale emessa nelle
tonalità del rosso-violetto. I colori delle superfici
illuminate e del corpo luminoso, ma anche la profondità dello spazio virtuale, variano in funzione
dell’angolo di osservazione. La superficie appesa
anteriormente e mobile consente uno spostamento
di una piastra rispetto all’altra e in tal modo una
variazione dello spazio virtuale.

transparente Hülle und eine Stromzufuhr, dies sind
die Zutaten der Hängeleuchte tub0. Man fülle also
das transparente Acrylglasrohr mit Lichtkomponenten, erhitze es an seinen Endpunkten, quetsche
diese - fertig!
Der Einsatz von Leuchtmitteln mit verschiedenen
Farbtemperaturen sowie dünne Nylonüberzüge
über dem Leuchtmittel im Inneren des Acryglasrohrs ermöglichen unterschiedliche Lichtstimmungen. tub0 ist variabel einsetzbar; nämlich als

An illuminant with accordant technology, a transparent casing and a power supply, those are the
ingredients of tub0. You fill the transparent acrylic
glass tube with light components, heat up its extremities, squeeze them and you‘re set! The use of illuminants with different light colors, covered by thin
nylon covers inside the acrylic glass tube allows
for different moods of light. tub0 can be variably
applied: freely suspended in a room as a horizontal
or vertical line of light, or as an installation and ambient light by the combination of multiple tubes.
Please note: tub0 is not a single-use lamp. The
casing can be disassembled in order to change the
illuminant!

L’utilisation d’agents lumineux de couleurs de
lumière différentes, recouverts de films protecteurs
de nylon à l’intérieur du tube, permet de créer des
ambiances de lumière diverses. L’utilisation de tub0
est variable: comme ligne lumineuse verticale ou
horizontale suspendue librement dans une pièce,
ou comme installation et éclairage en combinaison

Attention: tub0 n’est pas une lampe à usage unique.
Le corps de la lampe peut être démonté pour changer l’agent lumineux!

Bulb hat sich infolge des EU-Verbots einer erstaunlichen Metamorphose unterzogen: Der
Glühfaden ist verschwunden. Es bleibt die
leere Birne. Im beleuchteten Zustand wird sie
rätselhaft mit Licht gefüllt. Lichtspiegelungen
erzeugen eine fiktive Lichtquelle an der Stelle
des ehemaligen Glühfadens. Das Leuchtmittel
ist eine Halogen Halostar Energy Saver mit
25 oder 35 Watt der Firma OSRAM. Es sitzt
zusammen mit einem Reflektorschirmchen
in der Fassung. In Wärme und Behaglichkeit
steht diese transformierte Birne der Leuchte
Incredible Bulb ihrem Vorgänger in nichts
nach. Mit ihrem nach unten gerichteten Licht
eignet sie sich hervorragend zur Tisch- oder
Barbeleuchtung. Im gedimmten Zustand
bietet sie das für Halogenleuchten typische,
sehr warme Licht.
Due to the EU ban on the common light bulb,
the bulb in the Incredible Bulb luminaire
has undergone an amazing metamorphosis.
The filament has disappeared, leaving only
the empty bulb. When lit, it is mysteriously
filled with light. Light reflections create an
imaginary source of light at the point where
the filament would have been. An energy
saving halogen lamp, the Halostar Energy
Saver 25 /35 watts by OSRAM, is fitted into
the holder. The halogen lamp is integrated into the lamp holder together with a
tiny reflector. This transformed bulb of the
Incredible Bulb luminaire offers just the same
warmth and comfort as its predecessor. With
its downward directed light the luminaire is
ideal for table or bar lighting. When dimmed,
it provides the very warm light that is typical
of halogen lights.

Bulb s’ est métamorphosée d’une manière surprenante à la suite de l’interdiction prononcée
par l’UE: le filament a disparu. Il ne reste plus
qu’une ampoule vide. Allumée, elle se remplit
mystérieusement de lumière. Des réflexions
de lumière créent une source de lumière
fictive à la place de l’ancien filament. L’agent
lumineux de chez OSRAM est halogène:
Halostar Energy Saver de 25 ou 35 watts. Il
est placé dans la douille avec un petit écran
réflecteur. Cette ampoule transformée de la
lampe Incredible Bulb offre tout autant de

Der mundgeblasene Glaskolben mit Glasgewinde steht im Vordergrund bei der Hängeleuchte Watts Up?!. Das obere Drittel des Kolbens ist verspiegelt, das Glasgewinde bleibt
transparent. Keramikfassung und Reflektor
werden nicht mehr gebraucht; die Verspiegelung dient zugleich als Reflektor und als
Blendschutz. An Stelle der Keramikfassung
rückt eine Edelstahlspirale. Die Leuchte
Watts Up?! macht ein sehr schönes, nach
unten gerichtetes Halogenlicht und eignet
sich hervorragend zur Tisch- und
Barbeleuchtung.

Planeten im Universum...kleine Leuchtkörper, nicht
viel größer als Kirschen, bestückt mit LEDs der
neuesten Generation. Wir schreiben das Jahr 2010...
Die Rede ist von *Track (sprich: Star-Track), einem
sehr filigranen und leichten System, das es dem
Nutzer ermöglicht, bei nur einem Deckenauslass
jeden im Raum befindlichen Punkt mit einer
Lichtquelle zu versehen. War man mit den
bisherigen Schienen- und Seilsystemen noch stark
eingeschränkt, so bieten sich mit dem innovativen
Stromverteilungssystem von *Track neue
Möglichkeiten der Lichtpositionierung. Der
Gestaltungsvielfalt sind hierbei kaum Grenzen
gesetzt: Mit nur drei Komponenten, nämlich
Lichtquelle (LED), Oktogon und Verbinder
entstehen Lichtlinien und individuell geführte
Lichtstraßen. Alles ist möglich!

Verbindern in unterschiedlichen Längen und
achteckigen Knotenpunkten. Dank eines flexiblen
Stecksystems kann die Struktur individuell gestaltet
und geführt werden. Die Montage an die Decke
erfolgt mit Abstandshaltern oder bei hohen Decken
schwebend an feinen Seilen.
Die Lichtquelle ist eine zweigeteilte Kugel: Der eine
Teil ist die LED zusammen mit einer Licht
bündelnden Linse, sowie einer transluzenten
Kunststoffabdeckung, der andere Teil besteht aus
dem erforderlichen Kühlkörper in eloxiertem
Aluminium. Die transparente Kunststoffabdeckung
wird in den Varianten farblos, blau, rot und orange
angeboten, der Kühlkörper ist in farblos eloxiertem
Aluminium erhältlich. Die Kugel – und damit die
einzelne Leuchte – hat einen Durchmesser von
lediglich 28 mm. Ihre Lichtleistung beträgt ca.
80 Lumen bei einem Verbrauch von nur 1,6 Watt.
Gehalten und mit Strom versorgt wird sie durch sehr
feine vernickelte Kupferlitzen, die an den achteckigen Knotenpunkten (Oktogone) des *Track-Stromversorgungssystems mithilfe von Madenschrauben
fixiert werden. Die Lichtrichtung der Kugel kann
nach oben, unten oder seitwärts eingestellt werden.
2011 haben wir eine Wandversion von diesem
System entwickelt und erstmalig auf der Euroluce
vorgestellt: *Track Wall. Die Struktur des modularen
Stromverteilungssystems ist flexibel wie die der
Deckenversion und kann vom Kunden mitgestaltet
werden. *Track Wall wird mit 4 cm Abstand zur
Wand montiert. Im Gegensatz zur Hängeversion
befinden sich auf der Rückseite der gesamten
Struktur kleine, aber sehr leistungsstarke LEDs, die
für eine gleichmäßige und starke Hinterleuchtung
des Systems sorgen.
Die Kugeln mit den lichtstarken LEDs werden beim
Wandsystem mit einem Abstand von 8 cm zum
Oktogon, mit Hilfe zweier Drahtbügel montiert. Die
Kugel kann nach oben, unten und zur Seite gedreht
und somit die Lichtrichtung flexibel positioniert
werden. Eine weitere Besonderheit von *Track Wall:
Dieses System benötigt nicht unbedingt einen
Wandauslass, sondern kann auch lediglich durch ein
kleines Netzteil versehen mit transparenter
Zuleitung und Stecker gespeist werden. Ist ein
Wandauslass vorhanden, empfehlen wir ein
passendes, von benwirth licht entwickeltes,
Baldachin-Set.

Wall wurde zum Patent angemeldet.
They glow, they are translucent, they are blue,
colorless, red or orange, and they float in the room
like planets in space… small lamps, not much larger
than cherries, fitted with LEDs of the newest
generation. It is the year 2010…
We are talking about *Track (read: Star-Track), a
very delicate and lightweight system, enabling the
user to place a light source on any given point in the
room, using only a single ceiling outlet. While one
was still very much restricted by the previous track
and wire systems, *Track’s innovative power
distribution system offers new possibilities for
positioning light. There are few limits to your design
options: Using only three components (LED light
source, octagon, and connector), lines of light and
individually arranged streets of light can be created.
Everything is possible!
*Track consists of two ‘levels’: a power distribution
system and the light sources.
*Track’s power distribution system is a very delicate
structure made of white and silver circuit board
material (2 mm), consisting of slim connectors of
different lengths and octagonal nodes. Due to a
flexible connector system, the structure can be
individually designed and arranged. The system can
be installed on the ceiling with spacers, or can be
suspended from higher ceilings on fine wires.
The light source itself is a small globe, consisting of
two parts: the LED (including a lens to focus the
light and a translucent plastic casing) and the
necessary cooling element, covered in anodized
aluminium. The transparent plastic casing is
available in blue, red, orange or colorless, the cooling
element is always colorless. The globe (as the sole
luminaire) has a diameter of merely 28 mm. It has a
light output of 80 lumen at a consumption of 1,6
watts. The globe is being supported and supplied
with power by very fine nickeled copper litz wires,
which are fixed to the octagonal nodes (octagons) of
*Track’s power supply system with stud screws. The
globe’s light direction can be set upward, downward
or to any side.
In 2011, we developed a wall version of this system
and first presented it on ‘Euroluce’: *Track Wall. The
modular power distribution system’s structure is just
as flexible as in the suspended version and leaves
room for the client’s own design ideas. *Track Wall is
mounted at 4 cm distance to the wall. As opposed to
the suspended version, there are small, but very
powerful LEDs on the backside of the whole
structure, providing an even and bright backlighting
of the whole system.
The globes with their high-power LEDs are mounted
at a distance of 8 cm from the octagon with the help
of two wire holders. The globe can be turned
upward, downward and to every side, so that the
light direction can be flexibly set. A further
particularity of *Track Wall: the system does not
necessarily require a wall outlet, but can also be
energized using a small power pack with a
transparent feed line and plug. Where there is a wall
outlet, we recommend the use of a fitting canopy set
developed by benwirth licht.
A patent has been filed for *Track and *Track Wall’s
power distribution system.
Translucides, soit de couleur bleue, rouge, orange,

C’est l’année 2010…
Il est question de *Track (se prononce: Star-Track),
un système très filigrane et léger permettant à
l’utilisateur de placer une source lumineuse sur tout
point donné de la pièce, avec une sortie électrique
unique au plafond. Si l’on était encore très limité
par les systèmes de câbles et de rails précédents, le
système de distribution de courant *Track offre,
lui, de nouvelles possibilités quant au positionnement de la lumière. Les possibilités de design sont
presque illimitées : avec seulement trois composants, à savoir les sources lumineuses (LED), les
octogones et les connecteurs, des lignes et voies
lumineuses disposées individuellement se forment.
Tout est possible!
*Track présente deux plans : un système de distribution de courant et des sources lumineuses. Le
système de distribution de courant *Track est une
structure très filigrane faite de platines conductrices (2mm) en blanc et argent, qui se compose de
minces connecteurs de longueurs différentes et de
nœuds de communication octogonaux. Grâce à un
système de fixation flexible, la structure peut être
créée et disposée individuellement. Le montage au
plafond s’effectue au moyen d’entretoises ou, dans le
cas de plafonds hauts, pendant à de fins fils d’acier.
La source lumineuse est une petite sphère composée de deux parties: l’une est la LED munie d’une
lentille concentrant la lumière et d’une coque de
plastique translucide; l’autre consiste en un corps
réfrigérant nécessaire en aluminium anodisé. La
coque de plastique translucide est disponible dans
les variantes incolore, bleue, rouge et orange. Le
corps réfrigérant est disponible en aluminium
anodisé incolore. La sphère – et donc chaque
lampe – a un diamètre de 28 mm seulement. Son
rendement lumineux est d’environ 80 lumens pour
une consommation de 1,6 watt seulement. Elle est
tenue et alimentée en électricité par de fins fils de
cuivre nickelés, fixés aux nœuds de communication
octogonaux (octogones) du système de distribution
de courant *Track au moyen de vis sans tête. La
direction de la lumière de la sphère peut être réglée
soit vers le haut, le bas ou de côté.
En 2011, nous avons réalisé une version murale
de ce système que nous avons présentée pour la
première fois au salon Euroluce : *Track Wall. La
structure du système de distribution de courant
modulaire est flexible comme celle du plafonnier.
Le client peut donner libre cours à sa créativité.
*Track Wall se monte à une distance de 4 cm du
mur. A l’inverse du plafonnier, de petites, mais
très fortes LED se trouvent au dos de l’ entière
structure, veillant ainsi à un rétro-éclairage puissant
et régulier.
En ce qui concerne le système mural, les sphères
munies de LED très lumineuses sont montées au
moyen de deux attaches métalliques à une distance
de 8 cm de l’ octogone. Les sphères peuvent être
tournées vers le haut, le bas et de côté, permettant
ainsi de positionner flexiblement la direction de la
lumière. Une autre particularité de *Track Wall : ce
système n’a pas besoin obligatoirement d’une sortie
électrique murale, mais peut être tout simplement
alimenté par un petit bloc d’alimentation avec câble
électrique transparent et fiche. Si une sortie électrique murale est disponible, nous recommandons
un set baldaquin approprié, conçu par
benwirth licht.
Une demande de brevet a été déposée pour le
système de distribution de courant de *Track et
*Track Wall.

Stiamo parlando di *Track (si intende Star-Track),
un sistema molto accurato e leggero che consente
all’utente, mediante un unico attacco al soffitto, di
provvedere ogni punto della stanza di sorgente
luminosa. Se con il sistema a binario e corde
realizzato finora si era estremamente limitati, con il
sistema di distribuzione di elettricità della *Track si
offrono nuove possibilità di disposizione delle luci.
Non ci sono limiti alla varietà di disposizione: con
soli tre elementi, quali sorgente luminosa (LED),
ottagono e connettori si possono creare linee
luminose e percorsi luminosi disposti individualmente nella stanza, tutto è possibile!
La struttura *Track è costituita da due componenti:
il sistema di distribuzione dell’elettricità e le sorgenti
luminose.
Il sistema di distribuzione dell’elettricità è una
struttura molto accurata, costituita da materiale di
circuito stampato di colore bianco-argento (2 mm),
formata da sottili connettori di diversa lunghezza e
da vertici ottagonali. Grazie ad un sistema a innesto
flessibile, è possibile dar forma alla struttura e
regolarla secondo i propri gusti. Il montaggio al
soffitto avviene tramite distanziali o, in caso di soffitti
alti, tramite funi sottili, rimanendo sospesa in aria.
La sorgente luminosa è una sfera divisa in due parti:
la prima è caratterizzata da LED, costituito da una
lente che forma fasci luminosi e da rivestimento
traslucido in materiale sintetico; l’altra parte è
costituita dall’indispensabile termodispersore in
alluminio anodizzato. Proponiamo il rivestimento
trasparente nelle varianti incolore, azzurro, rosso,
e arancione; il termodispersore è disponibile in
alluminio anodizzato incolore.
La sfera, e quindi la singola luce, ha un diametro
di soli 28 mm. Il suo rendimento luminoso è di
ca. 80 lumen per un consumo di solo 1,6 watt.
La sfera viene alimentata da corrente elettrica ed è
appesa a sottilissimi cavi di rame nichelato, fissati
all’ottagono del sistema di distribuzione di corrente
*Track con viti senza testa. La direzione della luce
può essere convogliata verso l’alto, il basso o
lateralmente.
Nel 2011 abbiamo sviluppato una nuova versione di
questo tipo di lampada e l’abbiamo presentata per la
prima volta alla fiera Euroluce. Stiamo parlando della
versione da parete *Track Wall. La struttura del
sistema modulare di distribuzione dell’elettricità è
flessibile quanto quella della versione a sospensione
e viene realizzata secondo le preferenze del cliente;
*Track Wall viene montata lasciando 4 cm di
distanza dalla parete. A differenza della versione
lampada a sospensione, nella parte retrostante
dell’intera struttura si trovano dei piccoli ma potenti
LED, che garantiscono un’illuminazione omogenea
ed intensa della parte posteriore del sistema
luminoso. Le sfere con i LED luminosi vengono
montate a una distanza di 8 cm dall’ottagono con
l’aiuto di due archetti in acciaio. Le sfere possono
essere rivolte verso l’alto, il basso o lateralmente,
garantendo così una certa flessibilità della direzione
luminosa. Un’ altra particolarità della lampada
*Track Wall: il sistema non necessita in ogni caso di
un’ uscita di corrente sulla parete, ma può essere
anche alimentata soltanto da un piccolo alimentatore
dotato di cavo di alimentazione trasparente e spina.
In caso di presenza di uscita di correte sulla parete,
Vi consigliamo un set con rosone e convertitore
integrato, sviluppato appositamente dalla
benwirth licht.
Per il sistema di distribuzione dell’elettricità delle
lampade *Track e *Track Wall è stata depositata la
domanda di brevetto.

Die Komponenten für *Track und *Track Wall
können fast beliebig miteinander kombiniert
werden. Sie setzen sich aus Kugel und Seil (*Track)
bzw. Kugel und Drahtbügel (*Track Wall) zusammen, achteckigen Knotenpunkten (Oktogonen) und
Verbindern in verschiedenen Längen.
Die Kugeln
Die Kugeln können mit Kunststoffabdeckungen in
folgenden Einfärbungen bestellt werden: farblos,
blau, rot und orange. Der Kühlkörper wird immer
aus farblos eloxiertem Aluminium gefertigt. Kugeln
mit Seil sind für die Deckenversion von *Track
vorgesehen; die Kugeln mit Drahtbügeln können
sowohl für *Track Wall als auch für *Track
eingesetzt werden. Alle Sets werden mit Kugeln mit
farblosen Kuststoffabdeckungen geliefert. Farbige
Kugeln können gesondert bestellt werden.
Die Oktogone
Bei den Oktogonen aus weiß-silbernem Platinenmaterial wird grundsätzlich zwischen Oktogon Typ A
und Oktogon Typ B unterschieden. Typ A dient als
Steckplatz für ein bis maximal zwei Lichtquellen
(Kugeln), Typ B fungiert lediglich als Knotenpunkt
für die Verbinder.
Für Oktogon Typ A (Steckplatz) bieten wir folgende
Varianten an:
Oktogon Wall A: Oktogon mit rückseitiger
Hinterleuchtung durch SMD LEDs 3000 K.

The octagons made from white and silver circuit
board material are distinguished into type A and
type B octagons. Type A serves as a slot for one to
two light sources (globes), type B only functions as
a node for the connectors.

Installation
Le montage
Um eine präzise Ausrichtung des *Track-Systems zu
ermöglichen und um eventuelle Ungenauigkeiten
beim Bohren aufzufangen, haben wir eine
„schwimmende“ Fixierung der Oktogone an Wand
oder Decke entwickelt. Diese ist sowohl für die
Decken- als auch für die Wandmontage geeignet.
Hierbei wird ein Abstandshalter mit Magnet an
Wand oder Decke befestigt. Das Oktogon wird auf
den Magneten geklickt. Es kann bei Bedarf um 15
mm in alle Richtungen verschoben werden.
Da das *Track-System sehr leicht ist, kann bei hohen
Decken die Struktur auf Wunsch sehr filigran
abgehängt werden. Feine Stahlseile werden durch
eine spezielle Technik kaum sichtbar in der Decke
verankert. Rückseitig am Oktogon befindet sich ein
Drahtseilhalter, der ein einfaches Ausrichten der
einzelnen Oktogone ermöglicht.
In order to allow for a precise arrangement of the
*Track system and to compensate for possible
drilling inaccuracies, we have developed a ‘floating’
mechanism to install the octagons on wall or ceiling.
It can be used both with the ceiling and the wall
versions. A spacer with a magnet is fixed to wall or
ceiling. The octagon is clicked on the magnet, and
can be moved up to 15 mm in any direction if
necessary. Due to the *Track sytem’ s very light
weight, the whole structure can be very delicately
covered on high ceilings if desired. Using a special
method, fine wires are then almost invisibly fixed to
the ceiling. On the back of the octagon, there is a
wire holder allowing for easy positioning of the
individual octagons.
Pour permettre une disposition précise du système
*Track et pour éviter des inexactitudes au niveau du
perçage, nous avons mis au point une fixation
« flottante » des octogones. Celle-ci est appropriée
aussi bien pour le montage au plafond qu’au mur.
Pour ce faire, une entretoise munie d’un aimant est
fixée au mur ou au plafond. L’ octogone se clique sur
l’aimant. Il peut être déplacé de 15 mm dans toutes
les directions, si besoin est. Dans le cas de plafonds
hauts, comme le système *Track est très léger, il est
possible de suspendre la structure d’une manière très
filigrane, si souhaité. De fins fils d’acier sont ancrés
dans le plafond, à peine visibles, par une technique
spéciale. Au dos de l’ octogone se trouve un support
de câble métallique qui permet un ajustement simple
de chaque octogone.

offer a printout in the original size that can be fixed
to the wall or to the ceiling to copy the drilling

The globes can alternatively be connected to the

determined, and the structure can then be fixed with
small stud screws.

Il montaggio
Affinché il montaggio del sistema *Track avvenga in
modo preciso e si evitino eventuali imprecisioni
durante la trapanatura, abbiamo sviluppato un
nuovo sistema per il fissaggio degli ottagoni sulla
parete o sul soffitto: si tratta di un dispositivo
“mobile”, adatto sia al montaggio sulla parete, sia al
soffitto. Un distanziale con un magnete viene fissato
sulla parete o sul soffitto. L’ ottagono viene bloccato
sul magnete. A seconda delle esigenze esso può
essere spostato in tutte le direzioni di 15 mm.
Poiché il sistema *Track è molto leggero, in caso di
soffitti alti, la struttura può essere appesa a cavi
sottilissimi. Sottili cavi di acciaio vengono fissati al
soffitto attraverso una tecnica speciale, rendendoli
quasi invisibili. Nella parte posteriore dell’ ottagono
si trova un supporto per cavo, che permette una
regolazione semplice dei singoli ottagoni.
Per determinare la posizione dei singoli fori,
mettiamo a disposizione un modello di dimensioni
originali, da fissare sul soffitto o sulla parete per
consentire la trascrizione dei punti.
Le sfere possono essere collegate agli ottagoni, o
servendosi di piccoli archetti in acciaio (lunghi 75
mm), oppure utilizzando sottilissimi cavetti nichelati
(solo per la versione da parete). La posizione
desiderata/ l’altezza esatta viene determinata e fissata
tramite piccoli viti senza testa.
Sia per *Track, sia per *Track Wall offriamo set
preconfezionati con sagome che ne facilitano il
montaggio. Tutti i componenti possono essere
ordinati anche singolarmente.

un LED (ca. 1 ,6 watt/80 lm) nella colorazione
3000 K, oltre che di una lente che forma fasci
luminosi e di un rivestimento trasparente in
materiale sintetico (incolore, rosso, arancione,

Das *Track System benötigt einen Konverter. Für die
Montage an Rigipswänden oder Decken mit einem
entsprechenden Hohlraum für den Konverter gibt es
einen Einspeiser an einer transparenten Zuleitung. Für die Montage an der Wand ohne entsprechenden
Wandauslass wird der gleiche Einspeiser verwendet.
Der Konverter befindet sich dann am Boden.
Für die Montage an der Wand mit vorhandenem
Wandauslass oder bei der Deckenmontage ohne
Hohlraum bieten wir ein fertiges Baldachin Set mit
integriertem Konverter an. Die Abdeckung ist
ebenfalls aus weiß-silbernem Platinenmaterial
gefertigt und kann mit passenden Verbindern direkt
in die Struktur des *Track-Systems integriert
werden.
