Engine specialist from Continental USA.
This our 3rd EBS Service Clinic since EBS was
founded in 2007. At the Trier-Föhren (EDRT)
airfield EBS will provide maintenance and repair
expertise specialized on Bonanza aircraft.
Interested EBS members will receive a special
service from engine, structure, instrument and
radio specialists. These specialists will undertake
a detailed review on aircraft structure, engine
and (on request) instruments and radios in
presence of aircraft owners and/or pilots. After
review is completed (4 - 5 hours) , experts will
discuss and provide results in a detailed review in
writing. Pilots and aircraft owners got lot of
"eyeopeners" in relation to their aircraft during
previous EBS Service Clinics. Participation fee for

Dies ist jetzt unsere dritte EBS Service Clinic,
seitdem EBS im Jahre 2007 gegründet wurde. Auf
dem Flugplatz Trier Föhren (EDRT www.flugplatztrier.de) wird EBS Spezialisten für Instandhaltung
und Reparaturen insbesondere für die Bonanza
vorhalten. Als einen besonderen Service können
interessierte EBS Mitglieder dort ihre Flugzeuge von
den o.e. Spezialisten untersuchen lassen. Diese
Spezialisten unterziehen das Flugzeug einer
detaillierten Untersuchung der Struktur/Zelle, Motor,
sowie auf Anfrage auch Instrumenten und Radios in
Diskussion am Einziehfahrwerk
Anwesenheit der Piloten und/oder Flugzeugbesitzer.
Nachdem die Untersuchung beendet ist wird das Ergebnis mit den Piloten und/oder
Flugzeugeignern diskutiert und ein schriftlicher Bericht übergeben. Einigen Piloten und
Flugzeugeignern wurde bezüglich ihres Flugzeuges bei den vergangenen "EBS Service Clinics"
oftmals die Augen geöffnet.
Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 200 €.
Es ist geplant hier auch gleichzeitig die Jahreshauptversammlung abzuhalten.
May, 17 - 20, 2013 / EBS Short Trip to Dubrovnik / Croatia
EBS board decided to cancel the trip to Hungaria because of unreasonable high accommodation
cost at the hotel in Hungary.
Romeo Adaci, Christoph Winter and Marcel Warmerdam as "EBS Short Trip Team" reviewed
alternative destinations. By talking to our EBS member Michael Ehrlich, who has a lot of Croatia
experience, they found a perfect place with Dubrovnik / Croatia.
There is a very nice hotel outside the city of Dubrovnik

17. - 20: Mai, 2013 / EBS Short Trip nach Dubrovnik / Kroatien
Auf Grund der sehr hohen Kosten für einen Hotelaufenthalt in ungarischen Schloß Hertelendy
hat sich der EBS Vorstand kurzfristig entschlossen, diese Ausflug zu streichen.

schönes Hotel, ein wenig

Dubrovnik.

The City of Stade History is strongly influenced by Sweden. During the Thirty Years War Stade
was conquered by swedish troops and governed by Sweden from 1640 to 1712
You can still study the beautiful architecture from 17th century at the historic buildings of the
picturesque old center of Stade. In reminisce about the swedish governance this Sweden Week
is celebrated with various program topics daily along the whole week, Stades partnercity in
Sweden is Karlshamn. Karlshamn will be represented by their mayor and different groups and
clubs. Our EBS Representatives from Sweden Ronnie Eriksson and Ingvar Andersson will also
participate actively in this event. European Bonanza Society in cooperation with the Stade
Flying Club participate in this event by offering sightseeing flights and also likes to invite its
members and friends to this one week lasting event. Major performances take place at the
weekends on June 14-16 and June 21-23.

Die Architektur der Stadt Stade an der Elbe zwischen Hamburg und Cuxhaven ist sehr stark
beeinflusst von der Schwedenzeit, als Stade von den Schweden erobert und von 1640 bis 1712
auch regiert wurde.
Man kann immer noch die herrliche Architektur des 17.Jahrhunderts in der Alstadt von Stade
genießen. In Erinnerung an die "Schwedenzeit" wird in der Zeit vom 15. bis 23. Juni wird in der
Altstadt von Stade die sogenannte Schwedenwoche mit vielen Einzelveranstaltungen gefeiert.
Stades Partnerstadt in Schweden ist Karlshamn, welches durch seinen Bürgermeister sowie
einigen Gruppen und Vereinsvertretern repräsentiert wird. Unsere schwedischen EBS
Repräsentanten Ronnie Eriksson und Ingvar Andersson werden selbst aktiv an der
Veranstaltung teilnehmen
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Stader Fliegerclub nimmt die European Bonanza Society and der
Schwedenwoche mit dem Angebot von Rundflügen teil und möchte auch gern die Mitglieder und
Freunde von EBS zu dieser einwöchig dauernden Veranstaltung einladen. Die Hauptprogrammpunkte finden natürlich an den Wochenenden 14-16 Juni, sowie 21-23 Juni statt.

Aug 15–18, 2013: EBS Pilot Safety Training/Stendal ( EDOV )

Another yearly EBS event is the EBS Pilot Safety Training with the Special arrangement of a so
called "Pinch Hitter" Course. This kind of an emergency training is especially designed for
accompanying partners in case of the pilot gets unconscious or cannot complete the flight without
assistance. “Pinch Hitters” are trained to use some basic communication and navigation equipment
in order to support or even complete the flight with a landing preferably on an airfield.
Participants of the PST have to undergo an
intensive and demanding training program,
which is not offered anywhere else in Europe.
Designer and head of this training program is
Flight Instructor Hermann Schmoeckel. His
professional status is chief test pilot at ATR /
Toulouse. The Pinch Hitter Course is designed
an conducted by flight instructor Bernd
Herrmann/Berlin. Further flight instructors are
commercial pilots. Organisation and Logistics
are in hands of Uwe Lutz/Guderhandviertel

Die European Bonanza Society veranstaltet wie schon
seit 2008 auch in diesem Jahr wieder ihr Piloten
Sicherheitstraining auf dem Flugplatz Stendal Borstel.
Als besondere Aktion wird, wie schon seit 2010 ein
„Pinch Hitter“ Kurs durchgeführt. Dieses Notfalltraining
ist hauptsächlich für mitfliegende Partner des/der
Piloten/in gedacht, der, falls der/die Pilot/in z.B. wegen
einer Ohnmacht oder aus anderen Gründen ganz oder
teilweise ausfällt, das Flugzeug zur Landung bringen
(vorzugsweise auf einem Flugplatz) oder dabei
unterstützen kann. DieTeilnehmer an dem Piloten
Sicherheits
Training
unterziehen
sich
einem
anspruchsvollem Trainingsprogramm, wie es mit
diesem Inhalt kaum sonst wo in Europa angeboten
wird. Leiter des gesamten Programms ist der
Berufspilot/Fluglehrer Hermann Schmoeckel (FI), im
Beruf Chef-Testpilot bei ATR in Toulouse.
Der „Pinch Hitter“ Kurs wird zusammengestellt und geleitet von Fluglehrer (FI) Bernd
Herrmann/Berlin. Die weiteren Fluglehrer sind alle Berufspiloten. Organisation und Logistik des
Sicherheitstrainings liegt in den Händen von Uwe Lutz/Guderhandviertel Fluglehrer für
Klassenberechtigungen (CRI).

Aug 30–Sep 01, 2013: Annual EBS Fly-In/Lelystad

Annual EBS Fly In 2013 is scheduled in
cooperation with the KLM Aeroclub in
Lelystad/NL. Lelystad is a busy GA airfield
some 50 Nm west of Amsterdam. The KLM
Aeroclub board agreed to a common event
together with EBS at their home location.
As the program of that weekend is not finally set, further information will be distributed within
the next few weeks. In general it will look like our past events in Stade, Wilhelmshaven, North
Weald or Linkoeping with arrival at the Friday, followed by welcome party at or next to the
airfield. Saturday represents the touristic part with some local sightseeings around Lelystad
and/or a Fly-Out, may be some interesting shopping (for the Ladies) tour at a nearby and
famous Outlet Center. A famous aviation museum located at the airfield. We still have to have
some thoughts about the Saturday Night event. The sunday is scheduled for departure as

Das jährliche EBS Fly In ist für 2013 geplant in Zusammenarbeit mit dem KLM Fliegerclub in
Lelystad / NL. Lelystad (EHLE) ist ein geschäftiger Flugplatz der Allgemeinen Luftfahrt ca. 50
NM westlich von Amsterdam.
Der Vorstand des KLM Aeroclubs stimmte
einer gemeinsamen Veranstaltung mit
EBS in seinen Räumen zu. Da das
Programm im Detail noch nicht entwickelt
ist, können wir weitere detaillierte
Informationen erst in den kommenden
Wochen verteilen. Generell wird unsere
Veranstaltung ähnlich wie in Stade,
Wilhelmshaven,
North
Weald
oder
Linkoeping ablaufen. Nach der Ankunft am
Freitag wird es in den Räumen oder dicht
dabei eine Willkommensparty geben. Der
Sonnabend gehört dem touristischen Teil
unserer Veranstaltung mit z.B. einer
"Sightseeing Tour" in der näheren
Umgebung, einem Fly Out, vieleicht einer
shopping tour (speziell für unsere Damen)
in ein nahe gelegenes Outlet Center.
Am Flugplatz selbst gibt es ein berühmtes Luftfahrt Museum. Ein paar Gedanken müssen wir
uns noch um die Samstag Nacht machen. Der Sonntag ist dann wie gewohnt unser
Abschiedstag.

Famous event in Bavaria, where a lot of Bonanza members have met in the past
September 13 - 15 : Hangar 11 International Fly-In / Heringsdorf, Germany
Got an invitation to Heringsdorf (EDAH), to where we had already some EBS Short Trips.
Heringsdorf represents an international Airport at the famous Island of Usedom next to the
border to Poland. This was the starting point of our 2011 EBS East European Roundtrip.

24. - 27.April : AERO 2013 / Friedrichshafen, Deutschland
Peter Herr und Lisa Ferrari (Beechcraft), die wir zu unserem 2012 Fly In in Stade begrüßen
durften, werden anwesend sein und freuen sich schon drauf, um uns die "neuen" Bonanza- und
Baron - Modelle zu zeigen.
23. - 25.August : Tannkosh 2013 / Tannheim (EDMT), Deutschland
Eine der bekanntesten Veranstaltungen für die General Aviation in Deutschland, auf der sich in
der Vergangenheit schon viele EBS Mitglieder getroffen haben
13. - 15. September : Internationales Fly In zum "Hangar 11" / Heringsdorf, Deutschland
Wir haben soeben die Einladung nach Heringsdorf (EDAH) erhalten. In den vergangenen Jahren
hatten wir schon einige spontane EBS Short Trips dorthin. Heringsdorf hat einen internationalen
Verkehrsfughafen und liegt auf der berühmten Insel Usedom dicht an der polnischen Grenze.
Von dort startete auch unser EBS Rundflug 2012 "EBS GOES EAST".
