Cluj-Napoca
Cluj-Napoca, located in the heart of Transylvania is the second largest city in Romania. It’s a
university city and hosts one of the highest ranked universities from our country, Babes-Bolyai
University founded in 1579, according to historical records.
The central square is a magnificent place to visit. Travelers will find here two beautiful central
squares, Unirii Square and Avram Iancu Square. On one side, they will discover around Unirii
Square beautiful beading, the Franciscan Church, one of the oldest and most significant edifices
of the city, build in the 11th – 12th centuries, in a Romanesque style church, later changed in
Gothic style, in the 15th century; St. Michael's Church, one of the finest examples of Gothic
architecture in Romania, dating from the 14th - 15th century; and Bánffy Castle, the most
important Baroque building in Cluj-Napoca, from the 18th century.

Sibiu
Discovering Transylvania is not complete without visiting Sibiu. Positioned in the middle of the
country, where all the ways of the historical Romanian regions meet, Sibiu is a connection for the
dispersion of material and mystical values. In 2007, Sibiu had the honor of becoming European
Capital of Culture, together with Luxembourg. The main theme chosen by this city is: "City of
Culture-City of Cultures", and over the years they hosted Romania's largest German community
and an important Hungarian minority, with their own cultural heritage.
Sibiu was named the capital of Transylvania when the area was a Habsburg principality and
over the years it was also a significant ecumenical, didactic and cultural center.
The historical center of Sibiu characterizes the greatest medieval urban ensemble in Romania,
with several well-preserved remnants from that period. The Bridge of Lies, build in 1859, is one
of the famous symbols of the city and every tourist should listen at least once the many legends
build around this construction. The oldest streets in the city are taking travelers to a different
point in time and space.
Brasov
Located in the heart of Romania, Brasov benefits from the effect of an ancient history, being
founded in 1211, on an antique Dacian site. The city is situated 176 km from Bucharest, and is
well known for the historical and environmental attractions. Surrounded by the Carpathian
Mountains, Brasov delivers a mixture of delightful mountain scenery nearby Poiana Brasov and
medieval history with German inspirations.
The Brasov County is one of the most visited region, being close to tourism attractions, such as
Bran (where Dracula’s Castle), Zarnesti, Rasnov, Moeciu, Fagaras, Prejmer, Sambata, and so
on.
In the historic center, visitors will find the old Town Hall Square where they will appreciate
colorfully decorated and ornately trimmed baroque buildings.
One of the main attraction is the Black Church, declared the largest gothic church in Romania.
Its name derives from injury caused by the Great Fire of 1689, when flames and smoke blackened
its walls. The interior is imposing and well-kept, and houses one of the largest Gothic structures
in Southeastern Europe.
Sighisoara
Sighisoara is a stunning medieval town in Mures County, and the Historic Center of Sighisoara
is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This town was established by German craftsmen
and merchants, also known as the Saxons of Transylvania, around the year 1191.
Its cobblestone streets, sharp stairways, vibrant houses, unique ancient towers creates a mystic
atmosphere. One of the most famous tourism attraction is the 14th century Clock Tower, which
offers a great sight of the ancient city Centre. Tourists who are captivated with vampires are able
to visit the real birthplace of Vlad Tepes (also known as Dracula).

Oradea
Oradea, capital of the Bihor County is located about 10 km from the Hungarian border, in the

given by its Secession, eclectic, New-Romanian, Neoclassic and Baroque architecture.
The stunning city Centre is worth visiting, having beautiful places worth seeing, such as the
Baroque Palace of Oradea, Baroque Cathedral, known as the biggest Baroque cathedral in
Romania, Oradea's Fortress, the "Black Eagle Palace", the State Theatre and the "Moon
Church".
Outside the city travelers will find Baile Felix health spas with thermo-mineral waters. Baile
Felix is the largest resort in the country.
