from the chairman We can preach about the
wearing of seatbelts, the dangers
of beating the red light or even
driving under the influence of
alcohol, but we can never be
physically there to save a live
when it really matters.
YOU CAN SAVE PRECIOUS LIVES
ON THE ROAD
Road safety awareness is well and beyond
adhering to traffic regulations. Neither is
it solely about obeying the laws just to
prevent being issued with a summons.
In complete form, it is a way of life.
It reflects on an individual’s character
and personality, his generosity and
consideration towards others, the level of
patience on possesses, even going as far
as assessing one’s good judgment.
Malaysians are by far a hospitable,
polite and warm society we are often
reminded by our foreign guests. Yet, we
also often hear distraught comments that
Malaysians are a selfish lot when they
are behind the wheel of a car or on a
motorcycle. These are two very contrasting
and extremely difficult personalities to
understand.
We may be quick to deny the latter, but
ask yourselves sincerely whether you do
make the effort to stop at roundabouts and
junctions on every occasion, do you yield
in traffic and give way to others, are you
considerate of other road users, are you
patient enough in traffic or do you exercise
sufficient restraint on the road not to get
angry at the next motorist.
While AAM is making every initiative
to help reduce accidents, casualties
and fatalities for example in our ongoing
campaign to distribute thousands of free
motorcycle helmets, the effectiveness
of such campaign depends greatly on
whether the recipient will wear the helmet
but wear it properly.free
We can preach about the wearing of
seatbelts, the dangers of beating the red
light or even driving under the influence
of alcohol, but we can never be physically
there to save a live when it really matters.
Enforcement is a good and stern
measure of ensuring adherence but road
safety should ideally become second
nature, a discipline and a way of life for
every motorist. Road safety awareness
should be well and truly ingrained in
every individual whether you are driver, a
motorcyclist, cyclist or a pedestrian.
As an authority that champions the right
of road users, AAM will not allow ourselves
to be discouraged from continuing with its
efforts to generate and spread greater road
safety awareness.
Saving precious lives from being lost to
senseless road accidents however, begins
with you as an individual and just how
serious you are in upholding safety not only
for yourself but that of others on the road.
An in depth appreciation of road safety
– that is the true challenge.

news ONLY SIRIM-APPROVED
HELMETS ON THE ROAD
The Malaysian Road Safety Research
Institute in a recent survey concluded
that only 25% of motorcycle helmet
dealers are selling Sirim-approved units.
The director-general of the Road
Safety Department Datuk Suret Singh
who revealed the findings of the survey
said many dealers were still selling nonapproved helmets despite the ruling that
motorcycle helmets must comply with
standards and specifications set out by
Sirim Berhad.
“We would like to remind everyone
that selling non-Sirim-approved helmets
is against the law,” he had told the
media after handing out 50 helmets
at the Jalan Duta Toll Plaza recently
in exchange for those that were noncompliant.
Since July 2007, some 98,000
helmets has already been handed out or
exchanged.
Motorcyclists found wearing nonapproved helmets risk being fined by the
Road Transport Department.
Suret said fatalities on the road had
also increased by 3.9% to 6,527 cases
in 2008, compared with 6,282 fatalities
in 2007 and that a concerted effort was
now underway to focus on motorcyclists
and pillion riders who make up 80% of
accidents, casualties and fatalities.
A RACE DECIDED BY THE RAIN
A heavy downpour cut short the Petronas
Malaysian Grand Prix and handing
debutante F1 team Brand GP its second
straight victory.
BMW Sauber F1’s Nick Heidfeld and
Panasonic Toyota Racing’s Timo Glock
finished second and third respectively
when the race was red flagged and
abandoned on the 31st lap. Only half
championship points were awarded to all
the point scorers in the race.
The decision to abandon the race was
taken on safety grounds, with no signs
of the rain easing and the fact that the
revised and later starting time (5pm)
meant that there was insufficient daylight
remaining to continue.
Reigning world champion Lewis
Hamilton finished seventh, while the
Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Kimi
Raikkonen could only manage ninth and
14th respectively. Hamilton’s Vodafone
McLaren Mercedes team mate Heikki
Kovalainen retired on the first lap.
NAZA OPENS WORLD CLASS FERRARI AND
MASERATI FACILITY
Naza Italia Sdn Bhd the sole importer and
distributor for prestigious marques Ferrari and
Maserati in Malaysia, recently opened the doors
to its flagship showroom and service centre in
Petaling Jaya.
Located next to the existing Naza Auto Mall ,
the 45,000 sq ft 4S facility (sales, service, systems
and spare parts), is the largest of its kind outside
Italy.
HONDA MALAYSIA’S NEW BOSS
Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd has appointed Toru
Takahashi as its new Managing Director and Chief
Executive Officer effective April 2009.
Takahashi replaces Atsushi Fujimoto who
has now moves to Honda Automobile Thailand
Co. Ltd.
Takahashi, 55, joined Honda in 1977 and
was formerly Honda Japan’s Manager in the
Automobile Department in charge of Overseas
Operations.
He has also played vital roles in the sales
and marketing department of different businesses
such as automobiles, motorcycles and power
products across various regions.
BMW MAN TO SPEARHEAD PROTON’S
QUALITY EFFORTS
PROTON Holdings Berhad has appointed Dr.
Wolfgang Karl Epple as its new Director of Quality
to spearhead the Group’s Quality Function and
drive forward PROTON’s quality initiatives.
Dr. Epple, 56, last served BMW AG as Vice
President of Quality Management Research and
Development, and was also Project Director for
the current BMW 3 series.
He served BMW AG for 23 years with
several significant management positions in
Munich and South Africa. He had also managed
BMW’s role in its Hybrid Cooperation project with
Daimler, Chrysler and GM in Detroit, USA, was
the General Manager for Industrialisation in BMW
South Africa, and led BMW’s export initiative in
South Africa where he managed BMW’s biggest
investment program valued at RM500 million.
LOTUS RECEIVES THE 2008 DEWAR TROPHY
FOR TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
The Royal Automobile Club has named Group
Lotus plc as the recipients of the historic Dewar
Trophy for 2008. The Dewar Trophy is awarded
for an outstanding British technical achievement
in the automotive field and the Dewar Trophy
Technical Sub-Committee unanimously agreed
that Lotus be recognised for the company’s
development of its Versatile Vehicle Architecture
(VVA) chassis technology.
Lotus VVA has been developed to exploit
the benefits of producing at low to medium
volumes but for niche markets. It exploits Lotus
Engineering’s expertise in aluminium, steel and
composite body engineering, joining techniques,
and vehicle systems integration, enabling this
innovative technology to offer a fast-to-market,
cost-effective approach without the compromise
that stems from conventional ‘platform sharing’.
In total 18 entries were considered in detail
by the Dewar Trophy Technical Sub-Committee
for 2008, representing a complete cross section
of automotive development, covering all types of
vehicles, components, engineering and systems.

AAM & JERNEH INSURANCE
INTRODUCES AAMJ2U
COMPREHENSIVE MOTOR
INSURANCE POLICY
An accident assist programme, postrepair inspection and post-repair
warranty are some of the value-added
benefits of the all-new AAMJ2U
comprehensive motor insurance policy
that is being exclusively offered to
members of the Automobile Association
of Malaysia (AAM).
The policy is a joint venture between
AAM and Jerneh Insurance Berhad.
Both parties today signed an agreement
to formalize the strategic partnership.
The 24-hour nationwide accident
assist programme within the AAMJ2U
insurance policy has been designed to
assist members in their time of difficulty
and need.
In the event of an accident, members
need only to contact a special hotline
number (1-800-88-0808) and personnel
from the nearest AAM call centre will
be immediately dispatched to the scene
to assist and provide members with
guidance. This is to ensure that members
are protected from being bullied by
unscrupulous tow-truck and independent
workshop operators. AAM currently has
a special motorcycle patrol unit for the
purpose of dispatching its personnel to
the scene of the accident quickly.
Upon completion of repairs, vehicles
belonging to policy holders will also be
subjected to a post-repair inspection
by either AAM or Jerneh Insurance
surveyors. The accident repairs carried
out also come with a 12-month warranty
underwritten by the appointed panel
workshop.
Other privileges extended by the
policy include door to door insurance and
road tax renewal for policy holders.
Jerneh is a recognised name in
Malaysia, providing a wide range of
general insurance coverage encompassing
a comprehensive range of general
insurance products that include Fire,
Marine, Aviation, Motor, Engineering,
Household and Accident & Health
Insurances. It has also emerged as
a specialist insurer in the marine,
industrial and engineering fields.
AAMJ2U is expected to spearhead
the company’s initiative to enhance on its
motor insurance business.
Members will soon be able
to benefit from an auto
collision repair service that
the Automobile Association
of Malaysia (AAM) intends to
introduce this year.
The diversification into
the auto collision repair
business this year will put
AAM in a position to offer a
comprehensive suite of services
to members, complementing
its core business of rendering
breakdown assistance, on-thespot minor repairs, an accident
care programme, and the sale of
motor vehicle insurance.
AAM also provides vehicle
evaluation and inspection, the
sale of AAM batteries, safety
and advanced driver training
courses, and a lube and minor
servicing centre.
In venturing into auto
collision repair, AAM hopes to
not only reaffirm its position
as the preferred and number
one motoring organization in
the country, but to establish a
recognized and approved set of
standards governing repairs.
The association has also
purchased a total of 11 new
flatbed car carriers that will
enable it to introduce greater
efficiency by reducing rescue
time compared to the current
conventional towing method,
thus enabling it to serve
members better.
AAM has also begun fitting
GPS navigational and tracking
systems in all of its vehicles that
would enable rescue teams to be
accurately pinpointed on-theground and dispatched more
efficiently and quickly.
These measures combined
are aimed at establishing higher
competency, support greater
efficiency and enable AAM to
enhance its services to members.

TOO NOT SPARED
BY
The Automobile Association of Malaysia
successfully created another income(AM) recently concluded
its 54th annual
generating avenue for AAM.
ECONOMIC
DOWNTURN
general meeting that was held at Dewan
Seng Peng, Wisma Chinese Chamber in
Jalan Ampang on 28 March 2009.
For the 2007/2008 financial year,
the Association’s total income had
increased, although only marginally to
RM17,924,120 from the previous year’s
RM17,614,083.
Increase in revenue was reflected
in three key areas; membership
subscription, the sale of AAM trading
merchandise and entrance fees.
For the year under review, active
card members throughout Malaysia
stood at 234,889. Membership
subscription fees collected grew from
RM9,495,715 the previous year to
RM9,982,475 during the year under
review.
This is attributed to continuous
membership drives and renewal
programmes being undertaken, and the
introduction of new products such as
the AAM A1 Team Malaysia and AAM
Shape Lady’s cards. Although designed
to appeal to a niche market and only in
its infancy stages, both new products
contributed significantly and have
For the year under review, AAM
had also responded to a total of 68,427
roadside assistance cases and attended
to 31,266 calls from members as well as
non-members.
Insurance sales registered a slight
dip in revenue, with sales amounting
to RM 2.063 million compared to the
preceding year’s RM 2.297 million. The
drop was the result of serious competition
among insurance companies that have
also resorted to providing free road
assistance packages to policy holders,
the depreciation in the value insured for
motor vehicles, and the gloomy economic
slowdown that has stunted the growth of
new vehicle sales.
More members however, are seen
taking advantage of AAM’s vehicle
inspection and evaluation service,
and in the year under review, 2,722
vehicle evaluations were undertaken to
contribute an income of RM118,090 to the
Association.
The Association’s total expenditure
reduced slightly to RM18,295,173
from RM18,305,687 the previous year.
AAM also posted an improved deficit of
RM419,053 compared to the previous
year’s figure of RM733,604.
Addressing members in his speech,
AAM Chairman Yang Mulia Tunku
Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha said that in
moving forward, especially in the light of
repercussions brought on by the global
economic crisis and financial crunch,
demands that AAM remain focused on
enhancing and growing its core business.
This will be done with extreme care,
prioritizing areas that will complement
and add significant value to the existing
services currently being offered by AAM.
“AAM pledges to become more
aggressive in its approach and the
marketing of its services, assures
members that this will be done very
carefully, weighing all factors that
will promote growth against the need
to exercise prudence,” said Tunku
Mudzaffar.
He added that equal importance will
be given towards reducing operational
costs further. Cost reduction however,
does not mean AAM will compromise on
its services to members but it will involve
introducing processes that will make
the association more efficient, reducing
wastage and increasing productivity.

PERODUA ECO-CHALLENGE RACE
In an initiative to promote greener motoring, PERODUA in March
presented 12 units of its 1.3 litre Myvi worth some RM480,000 and
RM10,000 start-up project funding to some 12 local institutions
of higher learning who will be taking part in the Perodua EcoChallenge.
The challenge is for students to “re-engineer’ the car to improve
on its fuel efficiency in a test that will be held at the Speedway
Plus Circuit in Subang on 21 June 2009. The winning teams will
be decided by the distance their “re-engineered” car covers with a
given amount of fuel. Points will also be given to teams based on
their creativity in the modification of the cars, decorations as well as
support from their fellow students
The 12 institutions of higher learning participating in the
challenge are Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
(UTM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi
Mara (UiTM), Universiti Industri Selangor (Unisel), Universiti
Tenaga Nasional (Uniten), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA),
Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Politeknik Ungku Omar
(PUO), Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn
Malaysia (UTHM).
“We want to challenge the students’ engineering capabilities
and at the same time spur the development of new technologies,”
said Perodua Managing Director Datuk Syed Abdull Hafiz Syed
Abu Bakar.
“More importantly, we want to promote the good driving habits
among the Malaysian public.”
MAKE CARS GREEN
The Make Cars Green Campaign is initiated by the International
Automobile Federation (FIA), and outlines how policy makers,
industry players and consumers can all play a constructive
role in reducing the impact motoring has on the environment. It
encourages drivers to think as well as go green.
For a better understanding of the Make Cars Green campaign,
we encourage you to visit www.makecarsgreen.org.
THE BOYS FROM DETROIT
TO TAKE PROTON CARS
ELECTRIC
PROTON Holdings Bhd and Detroit Electric Holdings Ltd
has announced a strategic licensing and contract assembly
agreement that allows Detroit Electric to utilise PROTON
platforms for its production of Pure Electric Cars (PEV).
Under the agreement, Detroit Electric will be licensed
to use two platforms – the Proton Persona and Gen.2 - to
spearhead its full line of Pure Electric Vehicles (PEV)
for the global market. The electric cars will be built in
PROTON’s Tanjung Malim plant.
By 2013, Detroit Electric plans to sell more than
270,000 PEV in Europe, UK, China and the United
States. The vehicles will be priced between US$23,000
and US$26,000 for the city range model and between
US$28,000 and US$33,000 for the extended range model.
The first models are targeted to be sold in the 2nd quarter
of 2010.
For PROTON, the arrangement could also see the
company given the right to sell the PEV under Proton
brand in the Asean market and potentially in the markets
of member countries of the Organisation of Islamic
Conference (OIC).
The strength of Detroit Electric’s vehicle plan is their
patented Magnetic Flux Motor Technology and Motor
Controller Programme. The technology, currently in preproduction prototypes, allows the PEV to achieve a range of
180km on a single charge for the city model and 320km for
the extended range model.
advertorial NONTOXIC
MOTORING
Your one hour personal Formula 1 through
the Malaysian traffic on your way to work
unquestionably starts the day off with a bit of
stress. You think about the smog. You think
about the motorbike rider who just passed you on
the wrong side and cut in front with no warning.
A hundred things race through your mind.
One thing you never realize is that on that
one hour commute you will breathe more than
1,000 liters of air and it is the air trapped in
your vehicle. Did it rain yesterday and do you
remember dashing through it to get in your
car? You probably don’t remember getting those
floor mats and carpeting wet. Those wet carpets
combined with Malaysia’s nice hot climate have
made your car a moving lab experiment.
Yeast, bacteria and Malaysia’s deadly
“troika” of fungi; Cladosporium, Penicillium and
Aspergillus love those conditions. Your car has
become “makan central” for them. When you get
to your destination you never associate these
conditions with your runny nose, itchy eyes, sore
throat or irritability but it is definitely connected.
The mayo clinic in the USA did a study
and determined that 97% of chronic sinusitis
is due to fungi and not bacteria. Treatment
with antibiotics does not help
because it does not kill fungi. These three fungi
also produce metabolites with mycotoxins and
aflatoxins. They affect everyone in some way or
other.
Your body is one giant filtration system.
The larger fungal spores get trapped in your
nasal passages leading to sinusitis. The medium
size ones get into your upper respiratory track
leading to throat infections. Those tiny, pesky
spores get all the way down into your lungs and
what a place your lungs are; dark, moist, made
of living tissue and wow, lots and lots of oxygen
passing through.
Long term exposure at this level leads
to a condition known as Brochopulmonary
Aspergillosis. It decreases lung capacity. It
gradually gets worse. In extreme cases it can
be fatal. Don’t allow your self or your family to
become a victim. Take precautions.
A few sprays each day of AAM-BluOxy™
on those floor mats, carpeting and seats will
eliminate nearly all viable fungi and make your
commute safer and healthier. An AAM-NanOdor
Pad in your car will also help eliminate viable,
harmful bioaerosols.

10 tips
tyres have a
lifespan
Tyres are the most important part of a vehicle. It
is essentially the only component that keeps the
car in contact with the surface of the road. It is
therefore important for every vehicle owner
to understand what constitutes safety and
know the condition of their tyres.
All tyres sold are imprinted with
important information, from its
specifications and safety standards,
to the date of manufacture, weight
index, speed index and a tread
pattern wear indicator.
How many vehicle
owners actually know about
and understand all this
information considering
many motorists hardly
asks these questions when
replacing their tyres.
Many Malaysian
motorists do not understand
these safety information and
change tyres only when then
feel the tread on their tyres
are severely worn out. Many
more, don’t realize or truly
appreciate the danger that is
associated with driving with
tyres that are even worn beyond
the safe tread limit.
Tyres that are worn beyond the
safe tread limit no longer provides
adequate grip and can cause a vehicle to
veer out of control at any moment.
For vehicles equipped with anti-loc k
braking system or ABS, worn out tyres will
result in a longer stopping distance than normal in
the event of an emergency.
A tyre’s date of manufacture is also an important
element that needs to given serious consideration
when purchasing tyres. This is because most tyre
manufacturers are known to produce tyres that are
only designed to last between four and five years.
Continuing to use tyres that exceed this period will
cause the rubber to harden and may result in cracks
appearing on the tyre surface and wall.
So be careful when you’re out choosing or buying
tyres.
tips 11
the dangers of using
metal foot pedals
Not all car accessories available in
the market were designed taking into
consideration the safety of its usage and
the safety it offers to motorists. Some car
accessories
are in fact, dangerous
and
can even worsen
the situation in the
event of a road
accident.
One accessory
item that is
unsuitable for use
in a vehicle is
metal foot pedals.
Because it is
often designed
to have a smooth
surface, these
pedals can be
slippery and
may
impair the driver’s ability to control the
vehicle’s acceleration and braking in the
event of an emergency. Even worse, the
risk of these pedals hurting the vehicle’s
driver in the event of an impact is also
higher.
Take note that foot pedals designed
and provided by the vehicle manufacturer
are always padded with rubber to ensure
grip and to prevent slippage. The use
of metal foot pedals in reality, are not
practical and is also not recommended by
vehicle manufacturers.
At times, the design of metal foot
pedals cause the gap or distance that
separates the brake and accelerator to
become narrow, making it difficult for
the driver to adjust himself when driving
or reacting correctly to emergencies.
The driver’s foot may also be caught in
between the pedals resulting in the driver
panicking and thus increasing the risk of
an accident occurring.
The use of foot pedals that are lined
with rubber is also important in that it
prevents any slippage in the event
the driver is required to perform an
emergency braking. The rubber
lining acts like the sole of a shoe,
ensuring that there is sufficient
grip when one suddenly
stomps on the brake pedal.
Don’t be easily
convinced or overwhelmed
by the design of metal foot
pedals. What is best, is
that you the driver, select
accessories that would not
only enhance the look of your
vehicle but guarantees your safety
and those of other road users.
12 tips
OVERTAKING
Never be too ambitious
by attempting to
overtake too many
vehicles in front of you
in a single sweep
Overtaking recklessly or the lack of
knowledge and understanding in doing
so is responsible for numerous accidents
and fatalities on the road involving
pedestrians, motorcycles, cars and heavy
vehicles.
Overtaking not only requires
motorists to have the skill to judge speed
and distance, but a good knowledge of
your vehicle’s acceleration.
Whether you are riding a motorcycle,
driving a car or behind the wheel of a
heavy vehicle, take time to learn how
your vehicle reacts to acceleration
and braking in different gears,
before attempting any
overtaking.
And always be reminded
to adhere to the national
speed limits on the stretch

OVERTAKING: THINGS
TO CONSIDER
• You should be very
aware and well-versed with
your vehicle’s performance
and what it can and cannot do
• Before overtaking,
evaluate the distance and speed of
the car in front, as well as surrounding
tips 13
hazards that could exist and prove to be
threatening
• Never attempt to overtake around
corners
• Do not overtake along stretches that
strictly prohibits overtaking
• Never be too ambitious by
attempting to overtake too many vehicles
in front of you in a single sweep
• Be alert of your surroundings,
especially for vehicles that may be joining
traffic from the opposite side of the road
play chicken with the vehicle coming
towards you. Do not risk your life and
those of others
• If you see a vehicle on the opposite
side overtaking slow down to allow it to
rejoin traffic
• When being overtaken yourself and
in case there are approaching vehicles, be
sure to slow down and allow the vehicle
that is overtaking to safely rejoin traffic in
front of you. Being selfish may cause an
accident or you may be responsible for the
loss of a life
• If at anytime you feel sleepy or
drowsy, pull over at the next immediate
rest area
Look out for cars that may be stopped
in the middle of the road waiting to
• Be very alert and sure that you do
turn right
Be patient and
not overtake when you see pedestrians
standing in the middle of the road
overtake only
attempting to cross
• Always look at your side and rear
when it is safe to
view mirrors before you attempt to
overtake or steer out of your lane
• Look out for motorcyclists that may
do so
appear out of no where from behind, or to
your right
• Always use your indicators
• Don’t even think of attempting to
• Judging distance as well as visibility
is greatly impaired when driving at night.
Be extra cautious of overtaking
• Never attempt to overtake when
you are approaching a school, hospital,
junctions, bridges, a toll booth or a steep
climb where you cannot see the traffic
heading towards you
• Do not overtake on the left lane or
the emergency lane
• There is a big difference between
overtaking and queue jumping therefore
as a responsible motorist you should
respect and abide by this
• Overtake if you must but do not
tailgate of pressure the vehicle in front
of you to move out of the way and risk its
occupants lives. If the vehicle in front of
you already indicates that he/she intends
to overtake let the vehicle do so first
• Do not dangerously cut off another
motorist when you are rejoining traffic
after overtaking.
• It is always best to be in a lower
gear for better acceleration and throttle
response when you are overtaking
• If there is a larger vehicle that is
overtaking and your view of oncoming
traffic is obstructed, do not attempt to
follow behind that vehicle but let it first
clear before you attempt to overtake
• Unless you are overtaking, keep left
and stay clear of the fast lane

HIGH-TECH WIZARDRY AT ITS BEST
AGAINST CAR THEFTS AND CAR-JACKING
With the availability of state-of-the-art
anti-theft devices and systems, many
of today’s car owners have resorted
to installing vehicle tracking and
immobilizing capabilities as a greater
deterrent in preventing car theft and carjacking.
Some vehicle owners employ hightech wizardry as a last line of defense
against car theft, complementing their
existing use of conventional steering, gear
or brake pedal locks, alarms and engine
immobilizers and fuel or ignition cut-off
switches. Other methods to discourage
theft include having your vehicle
identification/registration plate number
etched on all the windows, and installing
better door and ignition locks.
Since it was first introduced into the
market two years ago, the Smart Tracker
anti-theft solution has enjoyed a zero-theft
or incident record.
Endorsed and serviced by the
Automobile Association of Malaysia
(AAM), in collaboration with TM and
Dataran Ganda, Smart Tracker uses
the combination of Global Positioning
Satellite (GPS), Global System for
Mobile Communication (GSM) and Geo
Information System (GIS), to accurately
pin-point a vehicle anywhere on the
ground.
Safeguarding members’ vehicles
against theft and car-jacking, Smart
Tracker is designed with a new dimension
of automobile security technology,
effectively making a thief’s effort useless.
The device does not impact on your car’s
performance and appearance.
A ‘spy’ hardware is installed in a secret
location and powered by the vehicle’s
battery. The unit also has a special built in
back up battery, which last about 24 hours
in the event of unauthorized tempering to
the power supply of the unit. Information
access is possible even when vehicle’s
engine stops.
With Smart Tracker, AAM will obtain
the information of the stolen vehicle
and alert the owner by telephone. Upon
SMART TRACKER ATTRIBUTES:
• The first and only vehicle antitheft solution that combines both
Global Positioning system (GPS) and
automobile assistance services.
• Real-time tracking – 5- meter
accuracy.
• Geofencing alert.
• An intelligent anti-dismantling
system.
• Live 24 hours monitoring.
• Black box powered by the vehicle’s
battery. Information access is
possible even when vehicle’s engine
stops.
• Does not impact on your car’s
performance and appearance.
• Affordable cost level.
• Professionally installed.
• Suitable for all vehicles with no
anti-theft protection and for new car
with sophisticated alarm systems.

MODERN AND HIGH-TECH GADGETRY
PRODUCES SAFER VEHICLES BUT NOT
NECESSARILY BETTER DRIVERS
by Harris Iskandar Taib
Many modern day vehicles come equipped
with a range of highly-advanced gadgetry
from stability assist and traction control
to electronic brake distribution, features of
which have been designed with the same
objective of creating greater safety at the
wheel.
While the advancement of these
features has greatly helped to reduce
the number of accidents, casualties and
fatalities on the road, they in no way
produce better and more safety-conscious
drivers. This depends entirely on the
individual who is behind the wheel.
What drivers need to appreciate and
understand is that while these features
make a vehicle safer, it also all comes
with its own set of distinct limitations and
threshold levels.
The biggest mistake any driver or
vehicle owner can make is take for granted
that these features will automatically
make them a better driver on the road,
enhancing their driving skills behind
the wheel and capable of correcting any
mistake that may result from a driver
error.
tips 21
Identify what
are the high-tech
features your
vehicle comes
equipped and how
they are designed
to function.
HIGH-TECH GADGETRY AND WHAT YOU NEED TO REALISE
• Ownership of a vehicle comes with
great responsibility. You are not only
responsible for your life and that of loved
ones, but also for other road users. At all
times, observe the road traffic regulations
when you’re on the road.
• Never ever take for granted the vehicle
you’re driving.
• Take time to learn your vehicle. Is it
a front wheel drive, rear wheel drive,
four-wheel drive or does the car come
with a front, rear or mid-mounted engine.
Each of these combinations produces
very different handling characteristics,
behaviour and weight distribution in a
car. Even the amount of horsepower and
torque a vehicle produces can greatly
influence its characteristics on the road.
• Identify what are the high-tech features
your vehicle comes equipped and how
they are designed to function. Understand
what these features are for and how it
makes driving safer. The manufacturer’s
handbook or the internet is a good source
to read up about these features.
• Learn to use the features your car is
equipped with. Many manufacturers
today conduct safety or advanced driving
courses to familiarize customers with
the many features built into the
vehicle and allow them to drive
the vehicle to the limit of these
features within a safe and
controlled environment. You will
be surprised that many car
owners do not know how to
correctly use or have never
even felt or experienced the
conditions of using the ABS
(Anti-lock Braking System)
in a vehicle.
• Understand and appreciate the fact that
the laws of nature will always supersede
technological gadgetry. No amount of
traction control or electronic brake assist
is going to keep your vehicle on the road
once you exceed the threshold level that
will defy the laws of gravity and force.
• Some features like the traction control
system on a car can be switched on and
off at the discretion of the driver. In most
vehicles, the system is always switched on
by default setting. Unless you are driving
to evaluate the system within a safe,
controlled and supervised surrounding,
you are advised against turning the
system off.
• Common sense and consideration
for others on the road. Even the most
advance traction control or braking
system will be of no use if you drive
recklessly and beyond your own and the
car’s capability in the wet or on slippery
road conditions.

breaking tradition -
BMW’s SUPER SUVs
by Harris Iskandar Taib
There’s a first time for everything and
now, BMW’s infamous “M” badge will for
the very first time adorn its X or SUV
models, making its debutante appearance
with the X5M and X6M.
Both models are powered by a newly
developed 4,395cc V8 high-performance
turbo-charged engine BMW calls its new
M TwinPower Turbo that delivers an
astounding 555 brake horse power or 408
kW.
With 680Nm of torque, the X5M
and X6M is capable of accelerating from
0-60mph in a staggering 4.5 seconds.
On paper at least, this is faster than the
car review 23
current model BMW M3 coupe which
BMW says will do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. The
turbos produce maximum boost pressure
of 1.5 bar.
The introduction of these two new
models breaks a tradition that dates back
to the inception of the M cars in 1978 that
has offered M variants for nearly every
car on BMW’s production line, except the
7 Series and the X Sports Utility Vehicles
models.
The release of the X5M and X6M
although radical and literally new
territory for BMW, will however, see
Bavaria’s best joining the exclusive league
of super SUVs with current players like
the AMG-tuned Mercedes-Benz ML series,
the hot-selling Porsche Cayenne and the
planned Ferrari SUV.
Also a departure from M heritage
is that instead of a manual or an SMG
(sequential manual gearbox) gearbox
that is now fitted to current models like
the M3, M5 and M6, the new X5M and
X6M will for the first time in M history
feature a six-speed M Sports Automatic
transmission with full automatic mode
and M driving mode.
In M mode, the driver can select gears
via a paddle shift steering wheel, allowing
the car to be revved to the red line before
changing gears.
By definition and reputation, BMW’s
M cars have traditionally been ferocious
in terms of brute power and outright
acceleration, providing exceptional
handling and clearly distinguishing
24 car review
these vehicles as motorsport-derived
thoroughbreds. The cars are also not
built off the general production line but
are given individual treatment by the
company’s motorsport division.
Those who have been privileged enough
to have owned or driven an M car will
attest to the fact these special models
deliver such uncompromised driving
satisfaction and performance so addictive
that it is difficult to compare even compare
it with some of the existing sports saloons
in the market.
The new X5M and X6M however,
is said to set new standards in the
performance SUV segment in the areas
of acceleration, lateral dynamics, steering
behaviour, stopping power, and overall
efficiency.
Both the X5M and X6M will maintain
a weight distribution ratio of close to
50:50.
BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheeldrive system and Dynamic Performance
Control comes standard in both models,
carefully tuned to harness the awesome
power and performance of an M-worthy
vehicle.
The X5M and X6M will come dressed
with 20-inch alloys and another first will
be the use of run-flat tyres on an M car.

BMW’S M LEGACY
BMW M GmbH was first established
in 1972 and formerly known as BMW
Motorsport GmbH, wholly-owned
subsidiary of BMW AG.
Formed as a high performance
company and initially created to handle
BMW’s racing program during the 1960s
and 1970s, it started with only eight
employees. The company’s first project
was based on the BMW 3.0 CSL (compact
sport lightweight) where a total of 1,265
units were built between 1972 and 1975.
This famous racer won seven European
Touring Car titles for BMW.
The first M-badged car that officially
went on sale was the mid-engined BMW
M1 E26 in 1978 that was designed by
Paul Bracq and Giorgetto Giugiaro.
The road version was powered by a
six-cylinder engine producing 277 brake
horse power capable of propelling the car
to 165mph. In full race trim and form,
the M1 had 470bhp and as much as
an astonishing 850bhp for the Group 5
German Sports Car racing Series.
However, it was 1986 that is probably
the most important in the history of
BMW M GmbH when it first unveiled
the legendary 3 Series E30 M3. Even by
today’s standards, the E30 M3 is widely
regarded as a benchmark for sheer
and outright performance and driving
pleasure.
The first E30 M3 had a 192bhp fourcylinder engine which propelled this light
car from 0-60mph in just 6.8 seconds, and
a top speed of 143mph (230 km/h). The
BMW M3 is also BMW’s most successful
touring car of all times.
Today, the demand for the famous
M cars is greater than ever as BMW
M GmbH continues to produce what is
regarded by many as the most desired
and sophisticated tuned street legal cars
available in full production. M cars offer
a comprehensive suite of upgrades from
modified engines, suspension and driving
dynamics to interior trim, aerodynamics
and exterior styling that reflects on a
quarter of a century heritage on the
racing track.

NEW PRIMACY LC
tyre in malaysia
Featuring
Silent Ride
and Fuel
Economy.
New Tyre
Targets to be
the Country’s
Best Seller
and Industry
Reference
MICHELIN has launched the new
MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre a tailormade product for Malaysia and regional
markets which effectively reduces driving
noise and helps save fuel bills.
Featuring the world’s leading
technologies, innovative compounds,
optimised tyre profile, the new
MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre is a natural
choice for demanding Asian drivers of high
performance vehicles such as Lexus LC,
Mercedes C Class, Nissan Teana, Toyota
Camry or VW Passat. It is also the best
answer for those who pursue improved
levels of silence, comfort, fuel efficiency,
while it delivers also the traditional core
performances of MICHELIN products i.e.
highest safety and longevity.
According to consumer surveys
conducted in the major Asia Pacific
countries, features such as quiet ride, fuel
efficiency and driving safety are among
the most decisive factors for consumers of
high-performance tyres.
“With excellent test results and
driver feedback, we believe that the new
MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre will set a
local industry benchmark for the highperformance tyre segment in Malaysia,”
said MICHELIN Malaysia Sdn Bhd
Managing Director Yves Pouliquen.
The MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre
is set to become the Company’s next
best seller in the country, replacing its
previous generation MICHELIN Energy
MXV8 tyre.
Asia’s high performance tyre market
will keep its momentum to grow far
above the average of other tyre segments,
mainly driven by new car models. With
the new MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre, the
Company expects to increase its market
share in high performance tyre segment
in Asia Pacific to 17 per cent in five years,
versus around 14 per cent today.
Reducing fuel consumption makes
sense if the gains are made without
compromising the tyre’s safety
performance, its tread life and silence
performance. The new MICHELIN
Primacy LC is the tyre capable of
delivering outstanding performance
news 27
in all these areas.
Simultaneously, it
reduces the amount
of energy consumed,
it lasts longer
and shortens the
distance needed to
bring the vehicle
to a halt, with
a lower level of
noise.
Three key
product attributes
of MICHELIN
Primacy LC
SILENCE
Thanks to the newly
developed “Silent
Rib” technology, the
new MICHELIN Primacy
LC tyre achieves less driving
noise. The shape and distribution
of the grooves in the tread pattern
gives the consistent rigidity around the
circumference of the tyre. This minimises
any vibrations that cause noise.
FUEL SAVING
The new MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre is
marked with the “MICHELIN Green X”
label, which guarantees the tyre has one
of the highest levels of energy efficiency on
the market. With this label, MICHELIN
asserts its commitment to reducing
both the fuel consumption and carbon
dioxide emissions, while offering all the
advantages of MICHELIN tyres in terms
of longevity as well as safety.
In addition, thanks to the full
silica tread compound and optimised
construction, the MICHELIN Primacy
LC tyre helps reduce rolling resistance
by 13 per cent compared to the previous
generation*. As a result, the new product
contributes to reducing fuel consumption
and therefore consumer’s fuel bill.
“Indeed, for this new tyre, as well as
for its whole range, MICHELIN fights
to offer the drivers the best cost over the
lifetime of the tyres,” said Pouliquen.
SAFETY
AND LONGEVITY
The new MICHELIN Primacy LC tyre
improves safety thanks to a highly
flexible tread rubber compound that
meshes easily with the road surface to
give high levels of grip. This allows a
six per cent shorter braking distance
on wet roads compared to the previous
generation*.
The optimised tyre profile puts 21
per cent more rubber in contact with the
road. Thus, the MICHELIN Primacy
LC tyre delivers all safety without
compromising wear life.

the right use of the
OVERDRIVE FUNCTION
in an automatic
Most cars that equipped with an automatic
transmission come fitted with an overdrive
function or system, yet many car owners do
not understand or know how to correctly use
it in their driving.
The proper use of the overdrive system can
be very fuel economical as well as reduce the
risk of a vehicle losing control when negotiating
corners or when being driven downhill.
When driving with the overdrive button
pressed, the overdrive off light will in most
common vehicles, illuminate on the vehicle’s
instrument cluster to indicate that gear
changes will be limited to up to third gear.
This situation is suitable when driving
within town or in a housing area where you
are usually in low gear and traveling at
speeds that do not exceed 90km/h. This is
similar to how you would drive a car with a
manual transmission.
Always keep an eye on the vehicle’s
RPM meter and should the RPM exceed
3500 during constant cruising, the overdrive
function needs to be switched off as its use
would only result in the vehicle burning
more fuel.
The use of the overdrive system in a
vehicle has vast advantages. Its proper use
is can not only become fuel economical but
ensure greater safety on the road especially
when driving in the rain or negotiating
sharp corners.
The correct understanding of its function
and use is important in not only helping
vehicle owners reduce fuel cost but also
reduce the risk of road accidents.
tips 29
the responsibilities that come with
DRIVING FAST
You are to always remember that speed
limits are a maximum, not targets for you
to achieve on the road.
It has been said that exceeding the
speed limit makes little difference to your
arrival time. In fact, the time it takes to
complete a journey is determined much
more by your average speed throughout the
journey, rather than the maximum speed
you achieve for part of it.
With the level of performance and
comfort today’s modern cars offer, it has
become extremely important for drivers
to regularly monitor their speedometer as
many have been drawn to exceeding the
speed limit without even realizing it.
Driving fast – in this case within the
legal national speed limit of 110km/h
– comes with plenty of responsibility.
If you are not used to driving fast, you
are strongly advised to gradually build
up your confidence and skill until you
become comfortable enough to handle
the vehicle at such speeds. Please realize,
remember and appreciate the fact that
speed is about control. Be sure you are
driving the car, and not let the car drive
you.
Fast driving requires full
concentration and for you to make good
judgments on the road, your ability to not
only look further ahead but anticipate
what may occur in front of you and react
correctly and fast enough should the
situation demands it.
Remember that escalating speed
magnifies anxiety and as visual depths
of field become shorter with increasing
speed, anxiety grows. With higher speeds,
your stopping distance also increases.
If you are driving at a speed that
makes you uncomfortable, you are
strongly advised to slow down. Don’t be
sucked into a situation where things are
happening too fast for your own comfort
and beyond your ability at the wheel.
Feeling fatigue and physically
tired can also greatly impair your good
judgment on the road, delay reaction time
at the wheel and even worse, cause you to
doze off while driving.
Please take time to consider the many
things that can go wrong at full throttle:
• The car in front of you suddenly cuts
into the fast lane to overtake or avoid
something
• Someone, something, or an animal
might just appear from no where
• You suddenly have to avoid hitting
an object on the road or avoid hitting a
pothole
• The threat of the car aquaplaning after
it rains
• Hitting an oil slick that appears from
no where
• One of your tyres exploding
• All the technology in the world
– traction control, stability control,
electronic brake distribution etc can defy
the law of physics. You must knwow not
only your limit but that of the vehicle
you’re driving.
• You are hit by a crosswind
• You become distracted ie: receiving a
phone call, children in the car, spilling
your drink, etc.
• You are driving on unfamiliar roads
and you misjudge a stretch or a corner
• Someone or a vehicle from the opposite
lane accidentally straying into your lane
• Brake failure
• Driveshaft failure
• Loose wheel nuts resulting in a wheel
being dislodged
• You failed to realize what the car is and
is not capable of doing

IN PORTUGAL
A1 Team Malaysia celebrated a podium
finish with a third placing in the feature
race at the Vodafone A1GP, Algarve in
Potugal.
Originally finishing fourth behind
Switzerland, Ireland and Portugal,
Malaysia was moved up to third place
following a penalty imposed on team
Ireland for overtaking under a yellow flag.
A1 Team Malaysia had started the feature
race from sixth position and 11th position
in the sprint event.
The team’s strong performance in
Portugal moves it to sixth in the overall
championship standings.
“We’re only three points behind
France, so we can fight for this as well.
We had a good car (in Portugal) and
this, combined with our teamwork and
a strong race strategy – and a little bit
of good fortune - ensured we took a top
three spot,” said driver Fairuz Fauzy who
finished eighth in the sprint event.
The drama-filled feature race began
with pole position Team Netherlands
encountering electrical problems on
the warm up lap. Malaysia lost a lot of
ground in the opening laps dropping as
low as ninth compounded by a wheel nut
problem that resulted in a slow pit stop.
The safety car came out after a clash
between team South Africa and New
Zealand moving Malaysia up to seventh
for the restart. Another high speed
motorsport 31
accident however, took out team Monaco, USA
and Italy promoting Malaysia to fourth position.
“The start was quite difficult” says Fauzy.
“Although Doornbos (Netherlands) wasn’t in his
position at the front and there was an empty
space where the Brazil car should have been next
to me, the cars from behind me shot forward and
it was a very busy pack of cars rushing down
through the first few corners.
“There were quite a few incidents and two
safety car periods, so it was quite a hectic time out
on track, especially with two pits tops as well. The
car was very consistent and we were able to run
at a good pace, particularly towards the end. I’m
pleased we have scored more points for Malaysia,”
said Fairuz.
In March, Fairuz was also enjoyed the
distinction of being presented with a special
UMNO award in recognition of his achievements
as an icon for today’s youth on the global stage.
The nominations for the award came from 70
overseas UMNO youth clubs worldwide, with over
15000 members.
Meanwhile, A1 Team Malaysia Chief
Executive Jack Cunningham said it was a
commendable result considering Fairuz was in
the company of more experienced drivers.
The grid included three drivers with
F1 racing experience and if you include
F1 test drivers, the total is eight, so the
competition level is increasing each time
we compete. We’ve raced with these guys
and kept up with them and this is very
pleasing,” he added.

preventing
car theft
With the availability of state-of-the-art anti-theft devices
and systems, many of today’s car owners have also turned to
vehicle tracking and immobilizing capabilities as a greater
deterrent.
The Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM)’s Smart
Tracker Vehicle Security and Recovery Satellite Tracking
System for example, is an anti-theft recovery system which
uses the combination of Global Positioning satellite (GPS),
Global System for mobile communication (GSM) and the Geo
Information System (GIS) that allows real-time and accurate
tracking of your vehicle up to a radius of five metres.
Depending on the situation however, we advise car owners
to just surrender the vehicle to a thief instead of risking
his or her life and that of loved ones. Let the police and the
relevant authorities handle the situation.
l Make sure you have your keys with you at all times. Some
vehicles stolen because the keys are in them.
l Be sure to lock your car. Approximately 50 percent of all
vehicles stolen were left unlocked.
l Never hide a second set of keys in your car. Extra keys can be
easily found if a thief takes time to look.
l Park in well-lighted areas. Over half of all vehicle thefts occur
at night.
l Park in attended lots. Car thieves do not like witnesses and
prefer unattended parking lots. Make sure you do not leave the
parking ticket inside the vehicle.
l Avoid parking near trucks, vans, dumpsters, and other objects
that obstruct visibility and provide hiding places. Avoid parking
near strangers loitering or sitting in vehicles.
l Completely close car windows when parking. Don’t make it
any easier for the thief to enter your vehicle.
l Don’t leave valuables in plain view. Don’t make your car a
more desirable target and attract thieves by leaving valuables
in plain sight. Never leave valuables in the car that are in plain
view, for instance your smart tag device, touch & go card, wrist
watch, hand phone, cash and loose change, etc.
l Park with your wheels turned toward the curb. Make your car
tough to tow away. Wheels should also be turned to the side in
driveways and parking lots.

AARON
LIM
a1 team malaysia driver
A1 Team Malaysia announced yesterday
that Aaron Lim will drive for his nation at
the next round of the A1GP World Cup of
Motorsport. He will be racing at Brands
Hatch in the UK from 1-3 May. In this
interview Lim talks about his expectations
for the weekend and his thoughts on the
challenges ahead.
Q. You must be delighted to be racing for
A1 Team Malaysia . How do you feel about
this?
A. I’ve waited a long time, nearly two
years! I couldn’t be happier; it really is
a dream come true for me. It is a great
opportunity for me to drive in a top
level international series with a highly
professional team. But not only this, I’ll be
driving for my nation and this makes me
very proud.
experience than me – but to gain the
experience you need to race, so having this
opportunity will be a huge benefit to me
Q. Is A1GP the most competitive series you
will have raced in?
Q. What are your thoughts about the track?
A. It is not only the most competitive
series that I’ve been involved with, but
it also has the highest level of drivers.
With ex-F1 drivers like Robert Doornbos
and Narain Karthikeyan as well as a
current F1 test driver, Vitantonio Liuzzi,
and others who have raced in other top
level series like Indycars and GP2, I
don’t think there’s any other series which
such a strong line-up of drivers. Most of
the drivers, if not all, have more racing
A. I have no doubts that it will be very
tough. It’s one of the more difficult tracks
in the A1GP calendar. The track is
technically demanding. By this I mean
that there are different types of corner, so
you need to have a different approach for
each one. If you get the line wrong you’ll
lose a lot of time. There is also the famous
Paddock Hill bend. This has a blind crest,
dropping down through a right hand bend.
You have to be brave on the entry, keep
the power on, and carry this speed through

it. But it’s easy to get it wrong and there’s
a big gravel trap waiting to catch you, but
if you end up in it you probably won’t get
out of it.
Q. What are the biggest challenges for you
in the move from just driving the A1GP
car to actually racing it?
It is the format of racing that is new to
me: qualifying, with the single run ‘flying
lap’ will be a big challenge, as when you
don’t have so much experience, to get
everything right on one lap is the toughest
thing.
In the rookie session we don’t get
to use the PowerBoost button, so that’s
another part of my learning. We’ll only
have one chance to practice this, which
will be in the final practice session and
then it will be straight into qualifying.
In qualifying you are allowed to use
your PowerBoost on one of your four
qualifying laps and that should make a
big difference to your lap time, so it will be
very important for me to understand how
to use this to the best effect.
Above all of this, the biggest challenge
will be the pitstops. I’ve never done races
with pitstops, so it will be my first time.
There’s many parts to getting this right:
the ‘in’ lap, which you need to do as
quickly as possible right up until the line
when you must put your speed limiter
on; coming into the pitstop area squarely,
leaving smoothly and cleanly, getting up
to speed as quickly as possible on the ‘out’
lap. There’s a lot more to a pitstop than
people think!
Q. How are you preparing for the
weekend?
A. It won’t be much different to any other
weekend, as I’ve always been in a position
to take over from the main driver if he
was ill or injured. So I’ve always kept
my fitness level high and will keep to my
regular training programme
I will be visiting the A1GP simulator
in Italy before Brands Hatch, as this
is our only opportunity to drive on the
track before the Friday morning practice
session. I’ll go with the engineer and
we’ll be looking to work on the car setup.
I have been before but at that time we
weren’t focused on this track and I was
sharing the simulator time with Fairuz.
This time we’ll be concentrating on my
driving style, lines and set up to suit me.
I’ll also be over in the UK early to make
sure I’m acclimatised - the cool weather
and time change can affect you mentally
and physically for a few days, so I need
to make sure I’m fully adjusted to British
time and weather.
Q. Do you expect to score points?
A. It would be fantastic if we were able to
score points, but I’m going to take each
session as it comes, and each race as it
comes. I haven’t done a full A1GP race
weekend before, so to expect points is
ambitious, to finish the race has to be the
real goal at this stage.
Q. You haven’t raced for over a season,
are you going to do more?
A. As I’m sure you know, you need
substantial backing to be able to race at
this sort of level – and the grades below
this, particularly at my level of racing
means that I’d need to be Europe based.
I don’t have the funds to do this unless I
can find sponsorship. I’m always trying
to sort this out, so if something was to
be forthcoming I’d be racing as often as I
could. The more time I can spend driving
and racing the more progress I will make.
Q. And what are your expectations for the
weekend?
A. I want to take it slowly and build
through the weekend. I have a great
relationship with the engineering team,
as I do with all the crew members, so I
know they’ll really help to settle me in
and support me in each session. I’m not
looking to be the fastest driver in the
practice sessions; I’m aiming to use these
to prepare me for the races. If that means
we’re running with full tanks, or worn
tyres, then that’s what we’ll be doing. My
goal is to finish both races. If we can be
in the top ten that’s a bonus, but I’m not
underestimating the challenge ahead.
Q. What does it mean to you to be racing
for your country?
A. I love the concept of A1GP and the way
that you represent your nation when you
race in the series. It adds so much as you
know that everyone at home is willing you
on and supporting you. I’m very proud
to be Malaysian, so driving a car which
carries the national flag of my country,
is liveried in its sporting colours and is
watched by people at home is very special
to me. I can’t wait to be lining up in the
drivers parade and just making that step
up from rookie driver to THE race driver!
