Que es? Proveedoras de cuidado de ninos, familiar y
centros pueden accesar nuestros recursosFotocopiadora, Laminadora, Cortador de Disenos,
tablero de franela, paquetes con temas, y nuestra
biblioteca! Limites en la cantidad por año (July
2013-June 2014) son: Laminacion 30 pies. Y 160
copias. Cada proveedora tendra una tarjeta para
ponchar que se guardara en los archivos de las
oficinas de CAC@UVU. Cuando has usado la
cantidad permitida el costo es de $.50 el pie de
laminacion y $.25 por 10 copias o $.05 por una sola
copia.

Department of Health- Bureau of Child Care’s se pondra en la pagina

Welcome Grant: Esto es para programas de familias y
centros que no han recibido la beca CAC anteriormente.
Hay varias cantidades que puede ganar dependiendo
cuantos criterios alcanzo a terminar.
Add/Renew Quality Criteria Grant: Esto es para
proveedoras de hogar y centros que yah an recibido antes
la beca CAC. La cantidad que gane depende del numero

1) Puedes pagar por telefono usando tu tarjeta de debito o credito.
2) Puedes traer efectivo o cheque a nuestra oficina.

Nunca has tomado una clase de CAC? Llama a nuestra oficina para registrarte para tu primera clase y poder
crear tu pagina en el Sistema.
Despues que hemos creado tu pagina puedes ir a www.careaboutchildcare.utah.gov y con tu nombre de
usuario y contrasena te puedes registrar para las clases. (Si no hemos creado tu pagina, no tienes nombre de
usuario y contrasena).
No te puedes registrar por internet para reponer una clase. Por favor llama para registrarte al. 801-863-8589
Las clases del Sabado vuelven al horario de 9 am- 2 pm.
Actualizacion de Records
La Primavera ya se acerca y necesitamos actualizar
algunos datos de tu programa para dar referencias.
Necesitamos saber cuantos puestos disponibles y cuantos
ninos hay inscritos. Tambien hemos agregado un espacio
mas en los datos para dejar saber a los padres si aceptas
familias que reciben ayuda financier de DWS.

Una Credencial de CDA es valida por tres años de la fecha otorgada, debe ser renovada antes que
expire. Una Credencial de CDA solo puede ser renovada por ajuste original, el respaldo a nivel de edad
(endorsement), y especializacion. El proposito de la renovacion es asegurar que CDA mantiene
conocimiento actual y habilidad en su trabajo con ninos pequenos y familias.
Todos los candidatos para renovar el CDA deben reunir los siguientes 5 criterios:
1. Prueba documentada de certificacion de First Aid y CPR de la Cruz Roja u otra agencia reconocida
nacionalmente – la certificacion debe incluir (1) tratamiento para via respiratoria bloqueada y (2) proveer
respiracion de rescate para infantes y ninos pequenos. Nota: Entrenamiento no es aceptado de
consultores independientes y/o en el internet.
2. Prueba documentada de uno de los siguientes tipos de entrenamiento, en educacion de edad
temprana/ desarrollo del nino, principios de aprendizaje de adultos, consejeria de salud mental, etc.:
- 4.5 horas de Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- un curso de 3 horas de credito
- O 45 horas de clases en el reloj
Estas horas deben ser adicionales a las originales 120 horas requeridas cuando el candidato obtuvo la
credencial de CDA. CDA bilingues deben cumplir con estos requisitos de clases incorporando educacion
bilingue.
3. Prueba documentada reciente (dentro del año) antes de la renovacion, debes haber trabajado un
minimo de 80 horas con ninos pequenos y familias. Esto debe ser documentado en una carta de tu
supervisor. (Nota: La carta de tu supervisor debe decir, “trabajo con ninos”.)
4. Una forma completa de Carta de Recomendacion acerca de la competencia de CDA con ninos
pequenos preparada por un critico de educacion temprana (ECE). El critico de ECE debe tener los
requisitos necesarios para ese trabajo.
5. Prueba documentada de membresia actual con una organizacion profesional de educacion temprana
nacional o local. Tu membresia debe estar activa/actualizada al momento que el Consejo recibe tu
informacion para renovar. Esto debe ser una membresia individual no grupal de una agencia.
Costos de Renovacion
Note que en Septiembre 1, 2013, la cuota para renovar las credenciales de CDA aumentaron. El Consejo
ahora cobra $100 para renovar aplicaciones de renovacion en papel. Candidatos aplicando en el
internet usando el CDA recibira $25 de descuento y el precio para renovar por internet es de $75.
Asegurese tener el dinero disponible en el momento de aplicar para renovar el CDA, el pago se hace
completo en el momento de la aplicacion.

En Julio del 2013 anunciamos un cambio en el Sistema de Career Ladder que requiere Early Childhood Professionals tener
Demonstrated Competency para Julio 1, 2018. Aqui estan algunas preguntas que hemos recibido acerca del cambio.
• Que es Demonstrated Competency?
• Demonstrated Competency (D.C.) es un compendio de entrenamiento, evaluacion, y observacion que indica que un Early
Childhood Professional ha tomado por lo menos 120 horas de entrenamiento y puede ponerlo en practica. Este D.C esta
reconocido a traves del estado de Utah, pertenece a la Proveedora, no al programa y es portatil. Proveedoras que han
recibido un D.C. pueden llevarlo con ellas a donde vayan y cuenta como una licencia para cuidados en Utah.
• Porque es requisito ahora tener un D.C.?
• La oficina de cuidado de ninos (OCC) maneja el Child Care Professional Development Institute (CCPDI) de donde viene
el premio anual de Professional Development Awards. OCC es monitoreado por The Federal Administration for Children
and Families. La oficina Federal ha dicho a OCC que cada dolar parago a las proveedoras necesita estar respaldado por
calidad, y que esa calidad debe ser verificada. El nuevo D.C. va a llenar esos requisitos federales.
• Como puedo obtener un D.C. si soy nuevo en Career Ladder?
• Hay 10 caminos que todos pueden escoger para obtener el D.C. Estos son:

professional development award volvera a subir su cantidad.

THANKS FOR REMEMBERING OUR TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Register Early! Each class is limited to 20 providers. You are encouraged to register early
to secure your place. (At least one month before the class begins)
Arrive on time if you are using the class for the Career Ladder.
If you arrive late or leave early you can use the hours for licensing only.
The entire session will need to be retaken for Career Ladder credit.
For Saturday classes it is recommended that you bring your own sack lunch. The lunch
break is only 20 minutes. If you choose to leave, you need to return ON TIME to receive
credit for the second session. There will be no exceptions for returning late.
Please find care for your infants and children. They will not be allowed in classes.
Behave in a professional manner during class. If an instructor must give you a verbal
warning about disruptive behavior a second time, you will be asked to leave the class and
credit for that night will not be given.
Thank you for your professional and helpful attitude in class.

TRAINING PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT-Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R)
•
Punctuality I Attendance: I understand that I must be in class at or before the time scheduled for class to begin
in order to obtain credit for the class. If I arrive after the time that class is scheduled to begin, I can use the time that I
was actually in attendance for licensing credit, but I will have to repeat the full 2 1/2 hour session to get Career Ladder
credit for the course. This includes returning on time from breaks and lunch. Class will begin when the trainer
determines that it is time to start. I understand that if I am not present during the entire class period, I will not receive
Career Ladder credit for the session, and will have to repeat the full 2 1/2 hour session in order to receive credit for the
course.
•
Disruptive Behavior: I will be respectful to the trainer and to all others in attendance during each class session.
I will not use obscene, profane, threatening, discriminatory, harassing or abusive language. I will not engage in any
conversation or behavior that is disruptive or disrespectful to the trainer or other participants in the class. I will
attentively participate in class. I will not text message or make cell phone calls during class time. I understand that I
am required to turn my cell phone and/or other electronic devices off or turn them to vibrate during class time. I will
limit all cell phone calls to break time or after class time. I will not engage in disruptive private conversations during
class time. If I must bring food or drink to class, I will eat quietly and will not allow food or drink to become disruptive or
distracting to the trainer or other class participants.
•
Illegal Activity I Health & Safety: I understand that any illegal activity, including behavior that threatens the
health or safety of the trainer or another class participant before, during or after class will be cause for my immediate
expulsion from class and permanent suspension from participation in the Career Ladder and the Professional
Development Award, and that such behavior may be reported to law enforcement. I understand that I may be asked to
leave a training if my condition prevents me from participating or is disruptive to the class environment.
•
Children: I understand that adult training classes are not a developmentally appropriate environment for
children of any age. I will not bring children to class.
•
Class Roll: I understand that in order to receive credit for each class session, I must sign the roll before class
begins. I understand that failure to do so will result in my not receiving credit for the class session. I understand that I
may not sign the roll for someone else.
•
Confidentiality: I understand that confidentiality is extremely important. I understand that I must keep all names
and other identifying information confidential when I am relating a story during class or asking for guidance regarding
certain issues. I also understand that it is my responsibility to keep sensitive issues discussed during class in
confidence, and not discuss it with family or friends outside of that classroom setting.
•
Refunds: I understand that class registration fees are non-refundable. I understand that if I notify the CCR&R
a minimum of three days in advance that I am unable to attend a course for which I am registered, that my registration
fee may be able to be credited toward another class. I understand that it is my responsibility to contact the CCR&R to
make these arrangements.
•
Non-Compliance: I understand that, in cases of infractions of a minor severity (behavior that has been
determined to be disruptive but not illegal), that I will be allowed one issued verbal warning upon the first violation of
the above listed rules. I understand that upon the second such infraction, I will be suspended from participation in the
Career Ladder and Training and Professional Development Award for one year from that infraction date. I understand
that upon the third such infraction I will be permanently barred from participation in the Career Ladder and
Professional Development Award System. I understand that upon the first incident of any violation in which I engage
in illegal activity (including threatening or intimidating behavior), that I will be permanently banned from participation in
the Career Ladder and Training and the Professional Development Award System, and that such action may be
cause for intervention by law enforcement and/or other legal action.
