BIGFOOT ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES MIAMI AND PALM BEACH FILM SCHOOLS
(Miami and West Palm Beach, FL) – Bigfoot Entertainment, Inc. has agreed in principle to acquire the
Miami Film School and Palm Beach Film School as part of the International Academy of Film and
Television (IAFT) umbrella. Bigfoot also has appointed Jim York, founder and director of the schools, as
the chief operating officer of the IAFT. This partnership will add two new locations to the IAFT’s growing
roster of film schools, which includes campuses in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Cebu, Philippines.
Plans are already in motion for a sixth location, in Las Vegas.
“With his success in Florida at the Miami and Palm Beach Film Schools, Jim is the perfect person to
oversee the always-growing initiatives of the IAFT” said Kacy Andrews, CEO, Bigfoot Entertainment and
International Film School Holdings, Ltd. “We feel he will not only channel our efforts to put a network of
IAFT schools on the map, but also guide their operations effectively due to his successful track record
with other film schools.”
The International Academy of Film and Television offers the latest resources in film production
technology, including state-of-the-art soundstages and post production facilities. Through Bigfoot
Entertainment, the IAFT offers students an opportunity to be a part of feature film productions, such as
the recently released “Deep Gold,” an action-adventure film shot on location in Cebu, Philippines, which
employed the help of many IAFT graduates.
"It has been an honor to work with the creative individuals at the Miami and Palm Beach Film Schools
including teachers, staff and students." said Jim York, COO, International Academy of Film and
Television. "I now look forward to working with Kacy and IAFT to help aspiring filmmakers from around
the world learn to write, shoot, direct and edit their own films. IAFT provides real-world filmmaking
opportunities to students by allowing them to gain hands-on experience by working on actual films. With
our new partnership, we will continue the commitment to train quality filmmakers, while opening new
locations across the U.S. and abroad."

With his spiky black eighties style hair, bright T-shirt and skinny ripped jeans, it looked as if Russell Brand
may have gone through another image change. In fact, the 35-year-old reformed bad boy was
channelling his inner 1980s glam rocker on the set of his latest film Rock of Ages. And the comic looked
distinctly like bearded Motley Crue guitarist Nikki Sixx today, as he left his trailer in Fort Lauderdale,
Florida. Brand plays record executive Lonny in a star-studded cast who include Tom Cruise and Alec
Baldwin. The story follows a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who following her
dreams in Hollywood. Earlier today, Brand tweeted a photograph of Alec Baldwin on the set, with the 30
Rock star looking distinctly different from his usual TV persona. Clad in a two-toned denim vest, aviator
sunglasses and long blonde surfer-inspired hair, it was certainly a unique look for the actor.

Tony Stewart is literally bringing the THE GLADES from South Florida to East Kansas in the form of his
No. 14 Chevrolet Impala. The 800-horsepower stock car fielded by Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) will carry
the design and colors of A&E’s original-scripted drama series THE GLADES throughout the Kansas race
weekend. Stewart shot a cameo for an upcoming episode of THE GLADES at Homestead-Miami
Speedway that’s slated to air June 26, and in doing so, befriended lead actor Matt Passmore, who stars
as Jim Longworth, an attractive and brilliant Chicago homicide detective with a reputation for being
difficult. Season two of THE GLADES debuts Sunday night on A&E just a few hours after the checkered
flag drops on the Sprint Cup race at Kansas. Ideally, NASCAR fans and followers of THE GLADES can
catch Stewart doing what he typically does at Kansas – running up front and winning – before turning into
THE GLADES at 10 p.m. EDT/9 p.m. CDT.

Summertime is no longer the vast wasteland for television fans that it used to be. One of the most recent
reasons for that is “The Glades,” which debuts the first episode of its second season at 9 p.m. Sunday on
A&E. In the series, Australian actor Matt Passmore plays Jim Longworth, a Chicago homicide detective
who is falsely accused of sleeping with his former captain’s wife and relocates to the fictional town of
Palm Glade, Florida. Passmore excels at playing the detective, who is as quick-witted at solving murders
as he is at making snappy commentary, whether it’s while he’s questioning suspects or dealing with his
co-workers, which include his friend/golf partner and forensic medical examiner Carlos Sanchez (Carlos
Gómez); lab tech Daniel Green (Jordan Wall); and his boss, Regional Director for the Florida Department
of Law Enforcement, Colleen McManus (Michelle Hurd). Then there’s Callie Cargill (Kiele Sanchez), a
nurse and mother attending medical school who’s just as sharp as Longworth is – so, of course, she’s his
love interest. And, of course, as with most TV couples, there are complications involved in this romance.

Digital Domain Media Group has asked federal regulators for permission to sell shares to investors, and
the movie animation studio's newly public financial statements show both growing revenues and red ink.
Port St. Lucie-based Digital Domain lost $42.5 million in 2010, turned a profit of $8 million in 2009 and
reported losses from 2006 through 2008. Its 2010 revenue was $105 million, up from $22 million in 2009.
"We have a history of losses and may continue to suffer losses in the future," the company said in a May
16 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Digital Domain aims to raise $115 million in its
stock offering. The state of Florida and the cities of Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach have promised
Digital Domain millions in cash, land and loans in exchange for high-paying animation jobs. The company
had 154 employees in Port St. Lucie as of Dec. 31.

"I Am Number Four," Touchstone Pictures /DreamWorks Home Video, Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron
star in "I Am Number Four." Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and for language
– The film revolves around John (Alex Pettyfer), a seemingly ordinary teen who lives with his guardian
Henri (Timothy Olyphant). However, John is actually an alien seeking refuge on Earth, and Henri is a
warrior sent to protect him. Gifted with special abilities, John soon realizes that Number Three is dead, so
he and Henri change their names and move from Florida to a small Ohio town. Being a new kid and fitting
in is tough enough, and being an alien, especially one being hunted by other aliens, just complicates
things even more. It's a really well-done film and I hope they get around to making the sequel. Extras on
the Blu-ray include bloopers, deleted scenes and a featurette.

Just as a deal came together late last week to keep PBS programming on the air in Orlando, Florida’s
public broadcasters suffered a financial blow when Gov. Rick Scott vetoed the state’s nearly $4.8 million
appropriation for public broadcasting. That figure had already been reduced by 30 percent from the
amount broadcasters received last year. With the cuts, each of 13 public radio stations will lose $87,287
in state funds compared with last year, and each of the 13 public television stations will lose a subsidy of
$434,837. Stations receive the same subsidy, regardless of size. “For me, it is critical; for a small station it
might be catastrophic,” said Rick Schneider, president and chief executive of Miami’s WPBT-TV. He said
there was “no doubt that people are going to have to look at layoffs” and that he would not be surprised if
some stations were shut down. The broadcasters will work to get the funds reinstated, he said. Orlando’s
WMFE-TV had already decided to leave public broadcasting, citing financial strain in its decision to sell
itself to a religious broadcaster, which would have left the city without PBS programming on July 1.

I just learned about a TV production that is sure to excite young viewers about the universe. Even though
I’m not blogging much due to a fast-track book commitment, I decided to share this news release. Janet’s
Planet, an innovative children’s educational television series airing on many public television stations
nationwide, today announced that its founder and host Janet Ivey has won the esteemed Gracie Allen
Award for “Exploring Microgravity,” the new DVD she produced with Space Florida. Ivey also recently won
two MidSouth Emmy Awards for “Exploring Microgravity” and “Janet’s Planet Health Interstitials” from the
MidSouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Science. Ivey created “Exploring
Microgravity” in partnership with Space Florida. The 35-minute DVD features Ivey as she boards an air
flight at zero gravity and explains the phenomena and effects for elementary and middle school-aged
audiences. The program has been adopted by the Florida Department of Education which has made it
available to schools across the state to promote Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics
(STEM) education.

It has been credited with helping track down more than 1,100 fugitives and bring home more than 50
missing children. Police agencies across the country consider it one of their most valuable crime-fighting
tools. It's not a technological gadget, or a computer system. It is a one-hour, weekly TV show, and there
is little dispute that it packs a powerful punch. Rarely has a single television program delivered as much
crime-fighting power as "America's Most Wanted." Which is why law enforcement officials, both locally
and nationally, are bemoaning Fox TV executives' recent decision to can the influential show. In South
Florida, the show is credited with tracking Paul Michael Merhige to a hotel room in the Keys in January
2010, two months after he gunned down four family members in Jupiter during Thanksgiving dinner. The
program is also one of Broward County's best hopes in developing leads and keeping the still-unsolved
2007 slaying of Sheriff's Sgt. Chris Reyka in the public eye.

South Florida is ready for all the extra exposure and tourists flocking to see the Miami Heat take on the
Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. The NBA Finals is expected to bring added national television
exposure for South Florida and market the destination internationally with the NBA’s global audience. The
games are “helping to cement the Miami brand that has taken off over the past few years,” said Javier
Betancourt, the Miami Downtown Development Authority’s deputy director. Greater Miami had a record
12.6 million overnight visitors in 2010, of which 6.544 million were domestic travelers, according to the
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. With two Finals games scheduled in Miami next week, more
domestic visitors are expected compared to the same time last year, said Rolando Aedo, the CVB’s
executive VP and chief marketing officer. Additional visitors mean more hotel nights and people dining at
area restaurants, which generates more tourism tax dollars.

The California State Assembly approved a bill on Tuesday to extend the state's film and television tax
credits program for five more years, which would add an extra 500 million dollars in a bid to slow runaway
production. "By any measure, the program so far has been a tremendous success and should be
extended," the bill's co-sponsor and assemblyman Felipe Fuentes said. "With the state's unemployment
rate hovering around 12 percent, we need this incentive to help keep hundreds of thousands of
Californians employed. Extending this incentive program will prevent production companies from moving
their projects, jobs and spending out of California." If the Senate approves the bill, the program will get
another 500 million dollars in credits, which is aimed at stopping movies and TV shows such as ABC's
"Ugly Betty" flying to other states. The bill, which was launched in early 2009, has yielded 2.2 billion
dollars in direct production spending in California so far.

Gamers around the world who spend their evenings chasing down Wayne Rooney in FIFA Soccer or
scaling rooftops in Assassin's Creed may not realize where their video games come from, but each one
might as well bear a large "Made in Canada" stamp. That's because both of those international best
selling games were produced by studios based in Canada. As the video game world prepares for the kick

conducted by the SECOR Group on behalf of the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC)

titles in the gaming industry.

The Ohio Film Office has announced four more motion pictures will be filmed in the buckeye state.
Two of the movies will shoot in NE Ohio while the others will be filmed in other parts of the state. "Over
the Wall," starring Kim Basinger, will shoot in Stark, Mercer and Darke counties. "Old Fashioned" will film
in Tuscarawas County. Generous tax credits and incentives have now lead to a total of 21 movies
scheduled to be made in Ohio. Gov. Ted Strickland's Motion Picture Tax Credit program cleared the way
for this Tinseltown boom. And this could be just the beginning. Ivan Schwarz, executive director for the
Greater Cleveland Film Commission, is currently in Los Angeles meeting with producers and other movie
executives. He is investigating the viability and possibility of bringing an entire movie studio to northeast
Ohio. The projected site is the current headquarters for American Greetings, Corp. Brooklyn, which will be
relocating to Westlake by 2014.

More than a dozen California state parks that have been a rich source of filming for such classic
Hollywood movies as “High Noon,” George Lucas’ "Star Wars" sequel “Return of the Jedi” and Steven
Spielberg’s “Back to the Future III” are in danger of going dark. They are among 70 state parks, historic
sites and recreation areas — or 25% of the 278 parks statewide — that Gov. Jerry Brown has proposed
closing in response to the state’s budget crisis. The prospect of losing so many state parks is cause for
concern among location managers and film promoters, who fear that such drastic cuts could give
producers one more reason to take their business out of California. The timing is bad for the state, which
has been working to keep more productions from leaving. California may not have the most generous film
tax credit, but what it does have, apart from experienced crews and sunny weather, is an abundance of
parks with diverse landscapes that have long served as ready-made locations for producers of films, TV
shows and commercials, film industry officials say.

production on May 20 using the south shore community of Blue Rocks and some venues in Halifax to
substitute for the fictional Paradise, Mass. Jake Rose, head of Sony Pictures Television Movies and MiniSeries Production, says the available talent and strong financial incentives make Nova Scotia a great
place to do business. To date, the province has provided $3.9 million in tax credits. The series, which has
been filming in Nova Scotia since 2004, follows the life of Jesse Stone, an alcoholic Los Angeles police
homicide detective turned Massachusetts police chief. The provincial government says Nova Scotia’s
audio-visual industry employs almost 3,000 people and contributes about $100 million to the economy

Memphis Commercial Appeal © May 29, 2011
It's clear that Memphis music, culture and history set the stage for a lot of stories. So how is it that
Tennessee can allow these productions to go elsewhere -- especially considering that film and television
productions are tremendous job creators and economic boosts for local businesses? The fact of the
matter is that our state tax incentives just don't measure up to places like Georgia and Louisiana, where
incentives are even extended to nonresident cast and crew members. They're not taxed for coming in to
work temporarily on a multimillion-dollar project, and yet they manage to leave lots of money behind for
local economies. That's a big issue for many directors, producers, and even potential studios that are
scouting for locations. Writer-director Jeff Celentano was in town for the Memphis International Film
Festival to release his movie "Breaking Point" with Tom Berenger and Busta Rhymes. He's all in favor of
bringing films to Memphis, but he just can't turn his back on the fact that other states would put a much
larger check in his hand to help him with his productions. He said if we could compete, he would definitely
look into channeling his pipeline of work to capitalize off the Memphis heritage, culture and people.

France, Belgium and Luxembourg are rapidly emerging as Europe's golden triangle for artier animated pic
production, and attracting projects from elsewhere as well. Amid the global toon boom, Belgium and
Luxembourg have emerged as France's favorite co-production partners for animated features -- and not
just for the attractive tax incentives. A growing number of outfits staffed with highly skilled crews have
made the two countries home. Among the nine animated films produced in France in 2010, four were coproduced with Belgium and Luxembourg. In contrast, there were no three-way co-productions in 2009,
per a spokesperson for France's Centre National de la Cinematographie (CNC), which will release an
animation study at June's Annecy Festival (June 6-11). "Nexus found us a fantastic team of Belgian
painters and illustrators," Herold says. "It's a win-win collaboration with Belgium, because the country
needs French productions to boost its film industry; for French producers, Belgium is attractive because it
boasts talented artists, a great tax rebate and there are no language or cultural barriers."
