McCONNELL, ELSIE
Born in St. Vincent Township, a daughter of the late Alfred and Laura (nee
McMillan) Smith, Margaret Jean Elsie McConnell, passed away in Owen
Sound on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the age of 94.
Elsie and her husband George McConnell were
longtime residents of Euphrasia Township retiring
for some years to Meaford before Elsie’s move to
Seasons in Owen Sound following the death of her
beloved husband of 61 years who passed away in
2009.
She is remembered as the much loved mother and
‘Mom’ of Joy and her husband Gord Allan of
Aurora, Lyle and his partner Carol Fox of Meaford,
Patricia and her husband Joe MacDonald of White
Rock, BC, Linda and her husband Tom Gray of Owen Sound and Catherine
and her husband David Verburg of Meaford. Elsie will be fondly remembered
by her daughter-in-law Ruth McConnell, also of Meaford.
She will be the sadly missed Grandma of eleven and Great Grandma of four.
A brother, Les and his wife Edna Smith of Newmarket survive Elsie and she
was predeceased by brothers Elwin (late Dot), Emerson (late Kay), Roy (late
Helen) and Doug Smith and she is affectionately recalled by Doug’s wife Joy
of Newmarket and by her several nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Joyce Straiton will be conducted at Bethany
Church of the Nazarene, Trowbridge St. W. in Meaford on Thursday, August
21st at 2 p.m. where family will receive friends the hour prior to service.
A family service of committal and interment will follow at Lakeview
Cemetery, Meaford.

CROWELL, MERCEDI SYDNEY SHARON
Mercedi passed away tragically at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on Friday
August 15, 2014 at the young age of 18.
She was the much loved daughter of Fenton
Crowell and will be lovingly remembered by his
partner Joanne of Meaford and also by her
mother Juanita Chandler (Rob) of Owen Sound.
Mercedi was the treasured sister and devoted
aunt of Mandy Crowell of Meaford and her
daughter Storm, Christopher Crowell of Owen
Sound, Miranda Crowell and her partner Nick
Dignard of Meaford and son Cameron, and
Joseph Crowell, also of Meaford.
She will be recalled as a cherished granddaughter by Clayton and Nancy
Crowell of Meaford and Patricia (late Terry) Chandler of Orillia.
She will be fondly recalled as a dear niece by her several aunts and uncles and
cousin to their families.
A private family funeral service will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral
Home in Meaford followed by cremation and a public memorial gathering
celebrating Mercedi’s life will be announced later.

NELSON, JOAN MARIE
Joan passed away in the presence of family at Meaford on Friday, August 8,
2014, in her 78th year.
Born in Meaford, a daughter of the late Oliver and
Mildred (née Cooper) Croft, Joan was predeceased by
her beloved husband James ‘Jim’ Nelson in June 2001.
She was the loving Mom and devoted Grandma of Brad
and his wife Virginia of Kingsville and their children
Joe, Renee (Chris) Guenther, Andrea (Chris) Stasko,
Peter, Matthew and Elizabeth; Janice of Meaford; Scott
and his wife Gail of Moose Jaw, SK and their children
Maclean and Allegra; and Carl Nelson and Carolyn of
Phoenix, AZ and his children Naomi and William.
Joan will be remembered also as a dear sister of Carol and her husband Jim
Barnes of South River and Rick Croft and his wife Carol of Collingwood and
by her nieces and nephews and their families.

YORK, GWENDOLYN MARY “GWEN”
Mrs. Gwen York, at her residence in Meaford on Sunday July 20, 2014, at the
age of 93, has peacefully left us for her final destination, to join her late
husband Bob York and late daughter, Patricia MacLean.
She bids farewell to her much loved former son-in-law, Donald MacLean,
daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Lewis Manne.
She would like to thank her good friends and neighbours for enriching her life
in so many ways and also thank her many dedicated caregivers who made her
journey on, an easy one.
She leaves behind a life time of photos and memories we will cherish forever.

HOPPS, IRENE MAY
Born in Toronto on February 19, 1921, a daughter of the late Percy March and
Edith Marie (nee Ball) Redhead of England, Irene passed away peacefully at
the Meaford Hospital on Sunday July 13, 2014 at the age of ninety three.
Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilfred Hopps in 2003 and is
lovingly remembered by their children Sandra Noble of Meaford, Doug Hopps
and John Hopps and his wife Kim of Owen Sound, Kevin Hopps and his wife
Kathy of Brampton and by step-sons Harold Hopps and his wife Anne of
Strafford and Bob Hopps (late Linda Forbes) of Wiarton.
Irene will be sadly missed by her five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
She will be fondly remembered by sisters Edna Hart and Doris Hatherell both
of London, ON and she was predeceased by a brother Leonard Reidhead and a
sister Verna Miller.
Cremation has taken place and a private family disposition of Irene’s ashes will

Born in Meaford, a son of the late Dan and Arley (nee Jay) White, John
Douglas “Doug” White passed away in Owen Sound on Wednesday, July 9,
2014.
Doug, a longtime resident of Meaford, is survived by
his beloved wife and companion Ruby M. (nee
Sinclair) White.
He is remembered as a dear brother of Emma Jean (late
Lyle) Benedict of Meaford and Marion and her husband
Blake Gieg of Grimsby. A brother Ralph White
predeceased Doug.
He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Marian and
her husband Keith Loucks of Meaford and brother-inlaw John Sinclair of Stratford and will be fondly recalled by his several nieces
and nephews and their families.

ROBERTSON, GORDON ARTHUR
Peacefully at Meaford Hospital and in the presence of his loving family, Gord
passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the age of 83.
Gord was born in Toronto, a son of the late George
Wilfred and Muriel (née Phypers) Robertson.
Gord married Alice Collins in September of 1951
and the couple worked and lived in the Toronto
area, he in accountancy and she with Bell
Telephone Company.
The couple enjoyed outings and events shared with
family and friends at the cottage on the Severn
River.
Upon retirement and moving to Meaford, they
operated a garden centre on the east side of town for several years.
Alice predeceased Gordon in July 2006 and he is lovingly remembered by their
children Debbie Barlow and her husband Ray of Meaford, Janice Robertson
and her partner Chris of Innisfil, Jim Robertson of Meaford, and Trish and her
husband Steve Miner of Cambridge.
He will be sadly missed by his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A sister Eileen (late Jack) McKowan of Clearwater, Florida also survives her
brother Gordon and he will be recalled as a special uncle to his nieces and
nephews and their families.
A family funeral service, officiated by Reverend Judith Oliver, will be
conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford where Gordon will be interred
with his beloved wife Alice.

MOORE, NANCY JANE SEYMOUR
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our
beloved mother, Nancy Jane Seymour Moore.
Nancy, born May 16, 1923 in Toronto, left us on Sunday June 15, 2014,
Father's Day, doing what she loved most. She was surrounded by the singing of
birds, nature and family members on the shore of Georgian Bay.
She will join her dear husband Garth, who predeceased her on April 11, 2008.
Nancy will be sorely missed but her spirit lives on forever in the hearts of her
children: John (Corinne), Megan (Russell), Heather (Scott), Garth, Bronwen
(Bill), Michael (Sandra) and Calay (Raymond), her grandchildren: Jake
(Caron), Jarrett (Raluca), Hayden (Tim), Brenlay (Dave), Regan (Will),
Brenden (Felicia), Gareth, Brian (Kristin), Calynn, Katherine, Nancy, Tyson,
Sarah, Evan, Jonathan and Erin; and her great-grandchildren: Max and Louise.

Robert Aukema passed away at Peterborough on May 28, 2014 at the age of
sixty five.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Nancy (née
Gardner) of Janetville, and formerly of Collingwood,
and by his loved son Rob Aukema and partner
Krystie of Oshawa.
A family service of committal and interment of his
ashes will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in

Born in Owen Sound on July 17, 1947, a son of the late George and Audrey
(née McCallum) Morrison, Ted passed away in Meaford on Saturday June 7,
2014 at the age of 66.
Ted will be remembered as a beloved husband by his
wife Ann (née Stewart) and as the much loved Dad of
Catherine and her husband Chris Duvall of Walkerton
and Daniel and his friend Kayla Houle of Markdale.
Ted was a devoted Poppa to his granddaughter Kayla
Duvall.
He will be remembered as a dear brother to Frances
(late Wayne) Murray of Meaford, Dennis and his wife
Lynn of Brantford, Sandra and her husband Steve
Tymcik of Fergus and Doris and her husband Ken Robinson of Meaford.
He will be remembered also as a dear nephew by his Aunt Mary (late Jim)
Morrison of Collingwood, a fine brother-in-law to Neil and his wife Phyllis
Stewart of Arthur, and as a very special person to his many nieces, nephews,
cousins and their families. Ted was predeceased by a granddaughter Kassey

Ray passed away in the presence of his family at Meaford Long Term Care
Centre on Saturday June 7, 2014 at the age of 76.
A longtime resident of Meaford and former organist
at St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church, Ray will be
recalled as the loved father and Dad of Mark
Newland and his wife Susan of Barrie and Michelle
Junor-Newland and her partner David of
Mississauga.
He will be the sadly missed Grandpa Ray of Mariko
and Presley Newland, at home, Barrie.
Ray is remembered by sisters Carol Anne and her
husband Bill, and Christine and her husband Walter and by brothers Charles
and his wife Margaret and Lawrence and his wife Arlene.

The former Viola Wilhelmina Cann of Meaford passed away peacefully at the
Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Friday May 30, 2014, in her 94th year.
Born in Meaford, Vi was the daughter of the late
Morris and Hannah (née Patterson) Cann.
She will be remembered as the beloved wife of the late
Kenneth Graham and the late Ernest Burgoyne.
She was the loved mother of Linda Graham of
Meaford and grandmother of Lt. Col. Richard
Cornelissen and his wife Amanda of Colorado Springs,
Colorado and Karl Cornelissen of Meaford and will be
fondly remembered by her great grandchildren London
and Victoria.
She will be remembered also by her sister Verna Hodgkinson and her brother
Elgin Cann and his wife Marlene.
Vi was predeceased by sisters Jessie Lackey, Mary Breadner, Blanche Knight,
Wilma Woodhouse, Irene Emary and by her brother Reginald Cann and will be
remembered also by many nieces and nephews and their families.

ORMSBY, DON RUSSELL
Don of Collingwood, and formerly of Meaford, passed away unexpectedly while
enjoying a weekend of camping with his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda (née
Craig) on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the age of 68.
Don was predeceased by his parents Mary A. (née Pink) and
R.E. ‘Ted’ Ormsby of Meaford in January and September of
2012 respectively.
He was the devoted father and grandfather ‘Bumpa’ of Kerri
and her husband Todd Lewin of Cambridge and their
children Kurtis, Rachel and Jordyn; and Lisa and her
husband Rob Merrell of Collingwood and their children
Andrew and Lauren.
Don is fondly remembered by his twin brother Dennis and
his wife Brenda, Ken and his wife Carol, and Ed and his wife Marilyn all of
Meaford and he will be recalled as a special uncle by their children and their
families.
He is also remembered as a dear son-in-law by Laura (late Wilf) Craig of Meaford
and by his brother-in-law Bob Craig and his wife Anne also of Meaford and sisterin-law Sheri and her husband Brad Evans of Horseshoe Valley and as a special
uncle to their families as well. Don’s several aunts and uncles and their families
will also share many happy remembrances of him.

of Grey Highlands.

David was predeceased by a son Scott Woodhouse in
October 2003.

Mac Johnson of Sydenham Township passed away peacefully at his home on
May 9, 2014 at the age of 86.
Born on April 21, 1928, Mac was a son of the late
Reginald and Ettie (née MacDonald) Johnson.
He will be remembered as the beloved husband of
Pearl Etta (née Fligg) Johnson of Sydenham
Township.
Mac was the loving father of Elaine MacLeod (Ray)
of Meaford, Gary Johnson (Susan McElveny) and
Yvonne Quesnel (Patrick) all of Sydenham
Township. He was predeceased by his son Donald
Johnson in 1998.
Mac was the cherished Grandpa of Bradley Johnson, Ryan Rayner (Lee), Lisa
Greve (Trevor), Randy MacLeod (Randi Lynn), Scott MacLeod, April
Richards (Wayne), T.J. Jarvis, Victoria Jarvis (Matt) and great Grandpa of Bret
and Logan Richards, Jaelynn MacLeod, Tyson and Travis Greve, Leland and
Landon Klenot.

Born in Egremont Township, daughter of the late Frank and Emma (née
Aitken) Eccles, Mary passed away peacefully in Meaford on Saturday, May 3,
2014.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Hart and by her children
Deanna and Krista (Rob), sister Jean (Ron), brother
Leonard (Mary) and grand children Samantha and
Quinton.
She was predeceased by her sister Pauline and is
remembered by her brother-in-law Bob.
Her kindness, warmth and endless smiles will be

Cathy Mower of Meaford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at
the Meaford Hospital on Friday May 2, 2014 at the age of 47. Born in Meaford on
January 31st, 1967, Cathy was the loved daughter of Ron
and Marion (née Scammell) Mower of Meaford.
Cathy was the beloved partner of Bob Storrey of Meaford.
She was the loving mother of Jessica Culbert (Drew
McCoag) of Fergus, Ryan Culbert (Stacey) of Meaford, and
Luke and Sarah Storrey at home in Meaford. She was the
dear Gramma of Natalie-Jade and Warren Culbert.
Cathy will be sadly missed by her brother Steven Mower
(Laurie Petzke) of Meaford and by her grandmothers
Blanche Mower (late Howard) of Meaford and Vera
Scammell (late Fred) of Durham.
Cathy attended school in Meaford until she moved to Waterloo to obtain her business

family and where she opened “The Fabric Shoppe”. Cathy operated The Fabric
Shoppe in Meaford for 19 years helping so many discover the joy of quilting. She
built her business with personal service and product knowledge and was never too
busy to help a customer find the perfect fabric for their project. So many of Cathy's
customers became valued friends. Cathy's family and friends all reaped the benefit of
her sewing, quilting and knitting skill as they all received many handmade treasures.
She had a great love of horses, dogs and gardening and was a fabulous cook. Cathy
worked hard but always found time for her family.

Born in Toronto on June 9, 1929, a daughter of the late James and Sarah (nee
Chantler) Fazackerley, Therese passed away peacefully at the Meaford Hospital in
the presence of loving family on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 84.
Therese was the last member of her immediate family being
predeceased by brothers Joseph, Edgar and James and a sister
Monica. She is remembered also by James’ wife Margaret.
She will be sorely missed by her husband Thomas Gray of
Meaford, and greatly missed also by her eight children: Mark
Gray of Gilford (Deanne), Paul Gray of Mississauga (Diane),
Sharon Gray of Owen Sound, Dawn Gray of Guelph (Hector
Barber), Ted Gray of Toronto, Joanne Van Snick of Saint John,
NB (Rodger), Matthew Gray of Bolton (Susan) and Timothy
Gray of Mississauga (Robyn). She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren:
Kristine, Caroline and Lora Gray; Evelyn and Thomas Barber; Jennifer and Matthew

granddaughter Ciara. Therese will be recalled fondly as a dear aunt by her several
nieces and nephews and their families.
Therese loved life and music and had a wonderful sense of humour that will be
greatly missed.

Lawson and Kathleen (née McKenzie) Sewell, May passed away at the

May was predeceased by her beloved husband of some 53
years, David McCormick McLean, in 2002 and is
remembered as the much loved mother of Jamie and his

Born in Euphrasia Township on January 12, 1912, a daughter of the late Asa
Aylmer Weller and the former Ina Armstrong, Mary passed away peacefully at
her residence at Extendicare in Hamilton on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the age
of 102 following a brief illness.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon
Knibbs of Meaford on October 26, 1979. A longtime
resident of Meaford, Mary relocated to the Hamilton area
some years ago to be close to her daughter and
grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Wood (late Henry)
of Hamilton and was predeceased by a daughter Valerie
of Kingston in 1980 and is remembered by her son-in-law
Brian Boyd and his wife Susan.
She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Lisa Wood, Chris Boyd
(Jen), Angie Boyd (Jean) and Brandon and Jarrett Boyd and will be sorely

Born in Toronto on June 9, 1926, a son of the late Edward and Muriel (née
Pritchard) Evans, Donald passed away in Meaford on Tuesday, February 4,

Early morning on Friday, January 24, 2014 our prayers were answered. With
great comfort, love and prayer our lovely Christine Ufton travelled into the arms
of our Lord God in heaven, surrounded by the same people who brought her into
the world.
Christine was born on August 5, 1963, in Whitworth,
England to her doting parents, Nina and Christopher Ufton.
Encountering great adversities and challenges, Christine
lived a joyous and adventurous life with her three children.
Her bravery and display of sheer courage and
determination were her guiding light while battling cancer
over the last 4 years. She leaves behind many gifts to her
surviving family, friends, and health care providers,
including a shining example of faith and personal strength.
Christine will be remembered as an amazing daughter to Nina DeCastro (Marc
DeCastro) and Christopher Ufton (May Richardson), a dynamic sister to Jamie
Ufton (Brian Olenuk), an unconditionally loving mother to Michelle McQuarrie,
Ashley McQuarrie (Kevin Sivret), and Emily Alexander. She will be lovingly
remembered by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including her
extended family and friends at the Pentecostal Church in Meaford and Gilda’s
Club in Barrie.
The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate individuals who cared
for Christine during the entirety of her journey. Christine received outstanding
holistic care from Dr. Donna Reece and her team at Princess Margaret Hospital in
Toronto, and from Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie and the Meaford Hospital.

THAIN, ALEXANDER ANGUS ‘SANDY’
Sandy passed away in Meaford on January 21, 2014 at the age of 83.
He was born in Toronto, March 7, 1930, son of the
late Albert Urquhart and Margaret Mae (née
MacDiarmid) Thain, where he was raised and
schooled and where many lifelong friendships
flourished. He spent summers at his grandfather's
farm near Dungannon, where he developed an
appreciation for hard work and good fun.
Sandy was married in Toronto on January 2, 1953 to
Elizabeth (Betty) Bowers who survives him.
Sandy had a long and successful career in the
insurance industry where he became a respected leader. His love for vintage
cars, antique furniture, historic and log architecture was passed down to his
children and grandchildren as well as the importance of being an active and
contributing member to the communities he supported.
Sandy will be missed by his family, friends and loved ones including his four
children: Connie, Neil (Katie), Colin (Jo-Anne) and Grant (Bernadette), his
seven grandchildren: Gordon, Alison, Ian (Stephanie), Alana, Kyle, Shelby and
Chance, and his great-grandson Logan.

Katherin Nesbitt passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family,
on January 18, 2014.

Thelma passed away at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Friday,
December 27, 2013 at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family.
Thelma was born in Milton, Ontario, the daughter of
the late Edward and Gladys (née Cargill) Maskell.
Thelma was predeceased by her beloved husband
Finlay Cully Loke in October 2009.
She was the dear mother of Wayne Loke, Wendy

Thelma loved her grandchildren: Denise Brodie,
Geoff Howe, Jesse Raycraft, Jayme Raycraft, Shari

and Sabrina Brodie, Christian and Laci Howe, and Audry Raycraft.
Thelma is survived by her sister Ruth Bacon and was predeceased by her sister

Elwood ‘Woody’ Fawcett, born in Meaford, a son of the late Carman Elwood
and Florence Marie (née Cahoon) Fawcett, passed away unexpectedly at his

Woody was the loved father and grandfather of Kim Fawcett and her son Tyler

parents Arthur and Adelaide (nee Crapper) Ball of Toronto and his wives Margaret
King and Barbara Hutchinson.
Bill was a dear brother to Arthur Ball of Bracebridge and
predeceased by his sisters Edythe Cavanagh and Ginette
"Bunny" Chapple both of Toronto and Ethel Cavanagh
and is remembered by her husband Robert Cavanagh of
Naples, Florida. Fondly remembered by his many nieces
and nephews.
Born in Toronto and newly graduated from the University
of Toronto, Bill's sense of adventure led him to accept a
job as a paymaster for an oil company in Bogota,
Columbia. Following service with the RCAF in WW II,
he fulfilled one of his life's goals to be self-employed when he moved to Meaford in
1949 to take over ownership of William Chapple's coal and cement business and later
a local apple orchard. Upon selling these businesses, Bill turned his life-long love of
golf into another business opportunity: the construction of an 18 hole golf course in
the Kitchener area. The families' love of living in Meaford led Bill to sell the golf
course and begin a new career as a High School teacher of commercial subjects in
both Owen Sound and Meaford. Following retirement from teaching, Bill spent
many happy years travelling with his wife Barb to Florida during the winter months.
He is remembered as a respected member of the Meaford community - a gentleman
and friend to many. His wry wit and wisdom will be sorely missed by his family who
loved him dearly.
A private family service was conducted at Christ Church Anglican in Meaford
followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends and colleagues are invited to
attend a further celebration of Bill's life which will be held in 2014.

GLOVER, JOHN ROBERT
John passed away peacefully at his home in Meaford and in the presence of his
loving family on Sunday December 1, 2013 at the age of 64.
He is survived by his beloved wife Judith (née
Button); much loved children Rachel and Robert;
brother Jim (Marisa), brother-in-law Eric Button
(Dale); nephew Josh Glover (Tara), nieces Jessica
Glover, Katelyn Button, Erin Button, and grandnephew Foster Glover-Nairn.
Cremation has taken place and family will receive
friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48
Boucher St. E., in Meaford on Saturday December
7th from 1 until 3 p.m.
There will be a further celebration of John’s life conducted in the spring.

THOMPSON, LESLIE THOMAS
Les Thompson of Rocklyn, beloved husband of Helen (née Sewell), passed away at the
Meaford Hospital on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the age of 82.
He will be remembered as a loved father and grandfather by Neil Thompson (Tina
Hurlbut) of Meaford; Linda (Ken) Snowden of Peterborough and their children
Amanda Snowden (Craig Varty), Kelly and Tyler Ainsworth
and Katlin Snowden (Frank Colacci); Sharon Thompson
(Gary McLean) of Williamsford; Randy (Heather) Thompson
of Bognor and their children Devin and Jordan; and Valerie
(Fred) Manning, also of Bognor, and their children Travis,
Keegan and Kaelan. Les was predeceased by a son Thomas
“Tom” Thompson and is remembered fondly by Carolyn (Mike
Keenan) of Mississauga and children Nathan Thompson
(Brittany Lake), and Andrew and Sarah Keenan.
Les was a dear brother to Alice (Bill) Pendleton of Eugenia, Ila
(Ed) Pendleton of Markdale, Jim (Burnice) Thompson of Flesherton, Ruth (late
Oscar) Brown of Ceylon, and was predeceased by brothers Lloyd (late Annie) of
Walters Falls, Laverne of Meaford, and Roy of Rocklyn and sister Elsie (late Elberne)
Hill of Meaford. He will be remembered with fondness by sister-in-law Nancy
(Henry Riemersma) of Meaford and as a dear brother-in-law by Jim (Carol) Sewell of
Welland, Sharon (Harry) Beachlar of Tavistock, Russ (Brenda) Sewell of Meaford
and Pat Sewell (late Elwood) of Collingwood.
Cremation has taken place and Les’ family will receive friends at the Ferguson
Funeral Home in Meaford on Thursday evening, November 14th from 5 until 8
o’clock. Funeral services will be conducted at Meaford United church on Friday
November 15th at 11 a.m. with interment of Les’ ashes to follow at Temple Hill
Cemetery in the former Euphrasia Township with a time of fellowship to follow at

HILL, TARYN ALYSSA
Suddenly and as the result of a tragic accident at her residence in Thornbury
on Saturday, November 9th, 2013, Taryn passed away in her 20th year.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Payton Olivia and the beloved
daughter of Susie Hill (née Wilson), and Scott and Sandra
Hill (née Shortt).
She is survived by her much loved sister of Tierney Hill
(Simon Newbold) and Aris Bynoe. Taryn was the adored
granddaughter of Jane Peterson, Don Wilson (Pam
Mathews), Winston and Donna Hill, Gerald and Shirley
Shortt, and was a special grand niece to Audrey Baker.
She will be missed also by Aris’ father, Carl Bynoe.
Taryn’s contagious smile and laughter will be forever
remembered by her many aunts and uncles, great-aunts
and great-uncles, cousins, co-workers, friends, neighbours, and everyone
whose life she touched in her own special way.
Cremation has taken place and a private family funeral service will be
conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford with inurnment of her
ashes at the Lakeview Cemetery Columbarium to follow.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Pipers Sports Bar and Grill, 54 King
Street East, Thornbury, on Saturday November 16th from 2 until 5 p.m. to share
remembrances in an open Celebration of Taryn’s Life.
