Meaford Hall, also known as The Opera House, is a stone’s throw from Georgian Bay and adjacent to all amenities in an area well known for its year-round attractions. For more than a century, Meaford Hall has echoed with music, drama, and debate, serving as the cultural, social and political heart of Meaford. Sept. 11, 7pm $24 At the age of thirteen, Tyler Shaw discovered a guitar underneath a staircase. It was then that he discovered his passion. Having never taken a professional music lesson, Tyler on his own developed a love and ability to perform on stage, drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists including John Mayer, Michael Bublé, and The Script. Now twenty two years old, Tyler Shaw has two certified Gold records, two Top 10 singles, and is working on his first full length album! Sept. 12, 7:30pm $36.50 Whiskey Jack is one the most celebrated roots/country/bluegrass bands in Canadian music history. The band toured Canada extensively between 1979 and 1987, appearing at festivals and concerts from coast to coast. Puttin’ On The Ritz is the music that made the 20’s roar. Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and more; these are some of the greatest melodies of the 20th century. Sept. 18, 8pm In a city called Peril where evil lurks in every corner, a Hero always saves the day. A new female SUPER VILLAIN arrives, determined to rule the world! But with opposition at every turn, Shevil has to challenge the sexist Mayor, her traditional mother, and an impotent Superhero. Can Shevil destroy Peril and prove that she’s more than “just a girl”? Little Miss Understood & Paleoncology Fri. Sept. 25, 8pm Little Miss Understood is a candid and hilarious look at the ‘joys’ of raising a teenager by Owen Sound resident, Stephanie Fowler. Paleoncology is a smart, heartbreaking, darkly funny solo show about a young woman, Lea, who has turned to her childhood passion for dinosaurs to deal with her feelings about an impending loss-- or rather, to avoid dealing with them. Craig Cardiff folk|singer|songwriter Sat. Sept. 26, 8pm $20 Craig Cardiff builds landscapes of sound using live digital loops, bringing the room to a hush. Edged, folk, beautiful, melancholy and left leaning, one song breaks your heart, and the next one puts it back together.
