2014 Children’s Clothing Sale
SELLER INSTRUCTIONS
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Your support and participation in the GRE PTA Clothing Sale is very much
appreciated! The clothing sale is a consignment sale of clean, top-quality, new
and used children’s clothing, shoes, cribs, baby equipment, outdoor play
equipment, bikes, toys and DVDs. Acceptable clothing sizes are Boys 0-20 and
Girls 0-16.
Clothing Sale Dates: Friday, September 12 & Saturday, September 13

On Saturday, all white ticket items AND all shoes are 50% off
Seller Payment: We have a 70% seller, 30% GRE PTA split on all items. The 30% is tax
deductible for the seller! New this year: We are now charging a $10 fee to sellers.
This fee will be subtracted from your check. Sellers will now be able to sell an
additional 50 white tags of clothing items. The $10 fee will waived if you volunteer
to work 6 hours before or during the sale or if you volunteer to work a 3-hour
clean-up shift. Also, as a volunteer, you will be eligible to shop the pre-sale.
Excluded items: Car seats, books, wall art, linens, bedding, quilts, bumper pads,
beds, bath tubs, underwear, breast pumps, stuffed animals, cloth dolls, broken
games, anything missing pieces or parts, VHS videos, video games with “Mature”
rating, electronics without batteries (must be able to show they work,) helmets,
Happy Meal type toys, rattles, teethers, bath toys, crib toys, potty chairs, diaper pails
and toys with lead-based Paint. Any item listed at www.cpsc.gov will not be
accepted. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ITEM(S) WE SO CHOOSE.

RECEIVING DATES:
Receiving dates are: Wednesday, September 10 & Thursday, September 11 at
Governors Elementary School. You will be asked to select a drop off time on
Flashconsign when you sign up. We ask that you wait while your items are being
received, so that we can return any unacceptable items back to you. Don’t
want to wait? Be a NO MUSS NO FUSS Seller.
UNSOLD ITEM PICK-UP:
Saturday, September 13, 6pm – 8pm
All items not picked up by 8pm will be donated to charity.
Checks will be mailed no later than September 22, 2014

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT ACCEPTED:
Fisher Price, Little Tykes, Step 2, and BICYCLES. Please make sure all outdoor
equipment is clean and in working condition.
Equipment with multiple pieces must be secured together (zip ties recommended) or
placed in the original box.
Price ticket should be taped to the item using clear packing tape (NO SCOTCH TAPE)
in an obvious location. If multiple pieces cannot be together, each piece should have a
price ticket, numbered “Piece 1 of 2 and Piece 2 of 2”.
DVDS, Blue-Rays, Video Games, Musical CDS:
DVDS, Bluerays, video games and musical CDS should be in their original packaging.
If original packaging is broken or unavailable, item can be placed in a Ziploc bag, sealed,
or wrapped with plastic wrap. We do not accept VHS Videos or Video games with
“Mature” rating.
Price ticket should be placed on the outside of the bag or plastic wrap, using clear
packing tape (NO SCOTCH TAPE). Tape the top of the tag, leaving the barcode exposed.

BABY FURNITURE/EQUIPMENT
Baby cribs (no drop side), high chairs, bouncy seats etc. should be clean and in
working condition.
Equipment with multiple pieces must be secured together (zip ties recommended) or

Due to space constraints, please bring cribs disassembled, if possible. We recommend
bringing a photo of the assembled item and attaching it near the price tag.

in an obvious location. If multiple pieces cannot be together, each piece should have a
price ticket, numbered “Piece 1 of 2 and Piece 2 of 2”.
TOYS

Toys must be clean

Toys with small pieces must be in a zip top bag

Make sure games are not broken or have missing pieces or parts

Electronics must have batteries (must be able to show they work)

No books, stuffed animals or cloth dolls

No helmets, Happy Meal type toys, rattles, teethers, bath toys, small crib toys

No toys with Lead based Paint

Any item listed at www.cpsc.gov will NOT be accepted


TICKET INFORMATION:
We use two types of tickets, as indicated below. Sellers will be limited to 100
tickets which can be either white or green or a combination. Up to 20 of the
tickets can be toys/equipment items. New this year, each seller can add an
additional 50 white tags of clothing. We ask that you select your best items for
the GRE Clothing Sale. All tags must be printed on cardstock. Fifteen tags can
be printed on one piece of cardstock. Cardstock will be available at
Governor’s Ranch Elementary School office closer to the sale.
RECEIVING INFORMATION FOR CLOTHING:
Clothing and accessory items will be accepted by RECEIVING only if in
excellent condition: CLEAN, PRESSED (when necessary), PROPERLY HUNG, and
TICKETED. New this year – We are now accepting swimsuits. We are also
accepting all sizes boys, girls, and teen formal wear!
RECEIVING cannot accept items that are:
* OUTDATED * HAVE BROKEN ZIPPERS * STAINED OR TORN * SMELL OF SMOKE
* MISSING BUTTONS * HAVE EXCESSIVE PILLING *EXCESSIVE PET HAIR
Green Tickets: Used for items being sold at FULL PRICE the entire sale. Unsold
items will be returned to seller and available for pickup on Saturday. Any items
not picked by 8pm on Saturday will be donated to charity. Green tickets must
be printed on green cardstock (lighter green is preferred). Note, all shoes will
be sold ½ price on Saturday regardless of ticket color, and they will not be
returned to the seller.
White Tickets: Used for items being sold at FULL PRICE on Friday and HALF
PRICE on Saturday. WHITE TICKET items not sold will NOT be returned to sellers.
All UNSOLD WHITE TICKET items will be donated to charity. White tickets must
be printed on white cardstock.
DISPLAYING GARMENTS:
Use a 1” or larger safety pin to pin the price ticket on the
garment. Tickets are to be placed in the upper left side of
the garment, as you wear it, whether the item is hung or
folded. See diagram. Hangers must be wire or
unbreakable plastic. The hook of the hanger should face
the right shoulder, away from the ticket. Use safety pins to
secure 2- piece garments together.

Sellers with ALL white tickets have the privilege of using our NO MUSS NO FUSS EXPRESS!
All items must be tagged with WHITE PRICE TICKETS.
Drop your items at the NO MUSS, NO FUSS Express table on RECEIVING day. You will not
have to wait once your items are dropped off.
Any items we cannot accept for the sale will be donated to charity.
Any items that do not sell on sale days will also be donated to charity.
Bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope to RECEIVING and your check will
be mailed to you.

SHOES:
We accept all sized shoes with styles that are appropriate for children up to
6th grade. The seller number, item number and price should be written directly
on the sole of the shoe or on a piece of masking tape. The tape should be
affixed to the bottom of each shoe. In addition, all shoes must be zip tied
together and a sales tag attached to each pair of shoes. ALL SHOES WILL BE
MARKED ½ PRICE ON SATURDAY; UNSOLD SHOES WILL BE DONATED TO CHARITY;
UNSOLD SHOES WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO THE SELLER.

The success of our sale is due to our volunteers! If you sign up to volunteer for
at least one shift, you are invited to shop at the pre-sale on Thursday,
September 11. The volunteer sign-up times will be available on Flashconsign
closer to the sale date.

PRICING:
A good rule of thumb to use when pricing is 25% of the original purchase
price. All prices must be in .50 cent increments with $.50 being the minimum
price. Do not overprice items you really want to sell.
