Summer Fete Shopping List
It is fast approaching, the sun will shine and July 9th will be a great event at
Tidcombe School and in Tiverton. The PTA needs some items to help with some of
the games –
• Empty wine bottles with screw top lids (wine and water game)
• Plants (plant stall)
• Jam jars (Ping pong game)
• Plastic milk bottle lids (lucky dip)
A car - which I can park up on the playground, in the middle, and fill with balloons
– and the prize a drive in it—has anyone got contacts with a car show room?
Please bring any of these items in bags to school and pop them in the school
uniform bin, which we will check daily. The plants will be needed on or the day
before the Summer Fete.
PTA Events
Just so you know what is happening:

Cricket Tournament
The ball was bowled….what a wicket—I can tell you we had lots
of them! On Wednesday, Year 5 cricket squad went to the
cricket ground in Exmouth. We had our lunch when we got
there and then started to practise our skills—we played a game
called “Flush down the loo”! We then played our first match
against Kentisbeare which we unfortunately lost but we still had
a chance to reach the final so we kept our heads held high and
won the rest of our matches which put us through to the final in
June. Tidcombe cricket team is in the best top twelve in Devon.
We all had a great day and it was a fantastic experience.
Special thanks to Miss Tearle and Mr Green

Dear Parents,
Play Equipment
Please bear in mind that the school’s play equipment is only supervised by
school staff during school hours, 9.00am to 3.30pm. We are more than
happy for the children to play for a little while before 8.50am when the
school doors open, or after 3.30pm before going home. Do though bear in
mind that you are responsible for your children during these times and they
play, or not, according to your judgement. We may have different rules
when we’re supervising but outside of school hours we trust your
judgement.
Mr Green’s Day Out!
What a lovely time Year 4 are having in Paignton. You would be so proud
to see the enthusiasm that your children have, and how well mannered and
well behaved they are… an absolute credit to you. Miss Parker and I
visited the children on Thursday and spent a great day at the zoo, on “the
wobbly bridge” (you’ll have to ask the children about it) and rock pooling
at Goodrington Sands in the afternoon with a class of happy, smiling and
fascinated kids.
NSPCC Sponsor Money
Thank you to all of you who collected money for the NSPCC and bought it
into school this week. Charlie Francis from the NSPCC will be coming
back to school next Friday to collect any outstanding sponsor monies.
Lost!
Sam Newsome in Foundation has lost his coat which is khaki green with a
grey hood and has two zips. Please return to Foundation Unit if found.
Gifted and Talented Dance Workshop
On Thursday, Jodie, Jude, Kayleigh, Sydney and I went to Heathcoat
Primary School to take part in a dance workshop. Becky Buns was our
dance teacher and she taught us a dance to “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green.
It was really fun and we made loads of new friends. Overall it was a
brilliant day and I hope I can do it again!
