Shoreline Children's Center I.D. number 91-600-1644 What is the Extended Day Program? Before and Aftercare Extended Day Programs are now offered at all nine District elementary schools. These programs are located on the campuses of each elementary school. The Extended Day Program offers students the exceptional opportunity to extend their learning day in a professionally supervised environment that is safe, positive, nurturing and growth-oriented. The staffing design includes lead and assistant staff members who provide a ratio of approximately 15 students to one adult. A typical program design includes opportunities for homework completion, gym and outdoor playtime, quiet reading options, free time for conversation and socialization and special art and other extended projects. Each site provides a computer for student use that is networked to District instructional support systems including Accelerated Reading and the Internet. Approximately 700 Shoreline students participate in the high quality program. When Is Extended Day Program Held? The Before/After Extended Day Programs operate on regularly scheduled school days, beginning with the first day of school in September. Before Care: begins at 6:30 AM After Care: ends at 6:30 PM Care will also be provided when children are out of school on early release days and during parent teacher conferences. Additionally, care is also available during Winter Break, Mid-Winter Break and Spring Break at the Shoreline Children's Center. Additional fees are charged for these extra care options. All children must be picked up by 6:30 PM (after care). If this does not occur, a late fee of $10.00 is applied, plus an additional $5.00 for each additional 15 minute period until a parent, guardian or authorized person arrives. This enables us to pay staff for their additional time. This fee is to be paid at the time of pick-up. Extended Day Program is Closed Labor Day Veterans' Day Thanksgiving part of Winter Break M. L.
