Digitized designs have given us an almost endless assortment of designs from which to choose. Selecting
a design and making it fit a space can be a daunting and time-consuming task. Not all blocks are created
equal, yet our job is to make them all look good. Page will demonstrate fast and easy techniques for
placing repeating blocks into not so perfect piecing. Triangle tricks are a great way to combine designs
within a block. Learn ways to stitch out more than one block at a time, layout and review designs, and
create design portfolios. Offer your customers the quality custom quilting they desire while spending less

will be confident in setting up an edge to edge, repositioning the pattern after advancing rows, saving

Easy Appliqué My Way
Instructor: Sue Whitaker
Hand appliqué without all the fuss. Trace the pattern only once, baste, and stitch. No freezer paper, no
penciled lines to wash out and no numbering of pieces. Accuracy is unavoidable with this method of
appliqué. Some knowledge of the needle turn appliqué stitch is helpful for this class.
Supplies: Basic Sewing Supplies including Pins, Appliqué or Embroidery Scissors (not the duck bill style),
and Sharp Pointed Awl; Appliqué Thread in a variety of colors since kit fabrics may vary (Mettler fine
embroidery cotton, 60 wt. is a good choice); YLI Jeans Stitch Thread in Off White color. If you don’t have a
stash of appliqué thread that you use for hand appliqué or can’t find the YLI Jeans Stitch thread, the

This is a fun hands on class. Learn how to make and apply perfect borders every time. Practice mitered
border corners to perfection. Learn how to simply calculate scalloped borders on any quilt. Make bias

ways to layout your t- shirt blocks without the usual square blocks and sashing. It is important to
