back seams to the sides.

• Avoid using selvedge edges in
the seams of your quilt back.
It’s fine to leave them on outer
edges, where you don’t quilt.
• Measure the width and length.
Write it down!
• Assure that your quilt back
and batting are 6” - 10” longer
and wider than the top. For
example, if your quilt top
measures 60” x 80,” you back
and batting should measure 68”
x 88.”
• Cut away loose threads to
prevent “shadows” on your quilt
top.
