Prinny amigurumi A pattern by Pink Penguin Materials - Catania cotton in colors: • Marine • White • Brown • Yellow (Less than 1 skein of each color) - 2.5 mm hook - Small pieces of white and black felt. - Polyfill - Yarn needle Gauge These instructions are written with Catania cotton in mind, which is a sports weight yarn. As always with amigurumi, gauge isn't really important and you can easily replace the yarn with the brand of your choice as long as you use the appropriate hook to get a nice tight fabric. Stitches used (US terms) st: stitch ch: chain stitch sl st: slip stitch sc: single crochet dc: double crochet hdc: half-double crochet tr: treble crochet inc: sc increase dec: sc decrease (preferably an invisible decrease) Instructions Rounds are worked in spirals without joining unless otherwise indicated. Place a marker at the start of every round to indicate the beginning. Instructions between ** are to be repeated until the end of the round. Numbers between () indicate the total amount of stitches in that round. Body Start with blue. Start with a magic ring r1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6) r2: *inc* (12) r3: *1 sc, inc* (18) r4: *2 sc, inc* (24) r5: *3 sc, inc* (30) r6-12: sc around. (30) r7: *2 sc, inc, 2 sc* (36) r8-9: sc around. (36) r10: *5 sc, inc* (42) r11-13: sc around. Arms/flippers (2x) Work in blue. Start with a magic ring r1: 3 sc in magic ring. (3) r2: *inc*(6) r3: sc around. (6) r4: *1 sc, inc* (9) r5: sc around (9) r6: *2 sc, inc* (12) r7: sc around (12) r8: *3 sc, inc* (15) r9-13: sc around. (15) Flatten the piece and sl st the edges together. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body. Tail Work in blue. Start with a magic ring r1: 3 sc in magic ring. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body. Belly Work in white. Start with a magic ring r1: 6 sc in magic ring. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body. Legs (2x) Start with brown Start with a magic ring r1: 3 sc in magic ring. (3) r2: *inc* (6) r3-5: sc around (6) Switch to white r6: sc around flo (6) r7: *inc* (12) r8: sc around. (12) r9: *1 sc, inc* (18) Join with a sl st to the first sc of the round, finish off, and stuff the piece. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body. Beak (opened) Work in yellow Upper part Start with ch 7, turn Row 1: 6 sc, turn (6 sc) Row 2: skip the first sc, 5 sc, turn (5) Row 3: skip the first sc, 4 sc, turn (4) Row 4: skip the first sc, 3 sc turn (3) Row 5: skip the first sc, 2 sc, turn (2) Row 6: skip the first sc, 1 sc, turn (1) Rnd 7: sc around the edge of the piece Join with a sl st to the first sc of the round and finish off. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body. Lower part Start with ch 5, turn Row 1: skip the first sc, 4 sc across, turn (4sc) Row 2: skip the first sc, 3 sc across, turn (3sc) Row 3: skip the first sc, 2 sc across, turn (2sc) Row 4: skip the first sc, 1 sc across, turn (1sc) Rnd 5: sc around the edge of the piece Join with a sl st to the first sc of the round and finish off. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body. Pouch Work in brown. Start with ch 9 Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from loop, sc across, ch1, turn (8 st) Row 2-5: sc across, ch1, turn (8 st) r6: Working in the round, sc around the edges of your piece (26 st) r7: sc around blo (26 st) r8-10: sc around (26 st) Row 11: 8 sc, ch1, turn (8 st) Row 12: 8 sc blo, ch1, turn (8 st) Row 13-17: 8 sc, ch1, turn (8 st) Row 18: 8 sc blo, ch1, turn (8 st) Row 19: 8 sc (8 st) Finish off with a sl st and weave in the end. For a neat finishing, join a new yarn at the start of the pouch flap and sc an edging around it. The flap should be folding over by itself a bit on the blo rows, you might wanna help it a a bit and crease it into a pouch shape. Pouch strap ch 50, bind off Wings (2x) Work in black or brown Ch 15 Row 1: sl st in 2nd ch from loop, sc, hdc, (dc, tr, dc in same stitch), hdc, sc, sl st in remaining stitches till end of chain. Turn so you work in the bottom of the chain now Row 2: sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl st until end of the chain. Finish off with a sl st. Leave a tail for sewing the piece to the body.
