A Total of 24 doctors from JIPMER comprising of Physicians, Anaesthetists and Orthopedicians
provided Emergency medical relief to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2016, from 2nd of July
to 18th of August 2016, as per instructions from the ministry of Health & family welfare. The teams
were posted in various health camps (Pahalgam, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Nagakoti,
Panchtarani) of Kashmir en route to the 3,880 metre high Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath ji via
Pahalgam base camp at various altitudes from 7000ft. to 15000 ft. above mean sea level. The
dedicated team rendered their timely service despite the unrest situation.
